Get educated. Individual sovereignity was incepted when we seperated from the king when the Revolution was won. "We the People" decide whether the law as well as the offense of the individual was within the Constitution during the trial, NOT the judge (FIJA). A good source is: http://www.uscourts.gov/outreach/resources/williampenntrial.htm. BTW, the Constitution is NOT a "living" document. It doesn't move or breathe or say anything any activist judge says it does. Folks might read "Constitution, Fact or Fiction" by Dr. Eugene Schroder. Blackstone's is another must for the library. Bastiat "The Law" should be required reading. If the jurors had a better understanding of this, Kahre might have gone free.

Financial education is NOW the hottest market!

Heres one for you believers and unbelievers, "for our war that we wage is not against flesh and blood persons, but rather against principalities and powers and rulers in the darkest corners of mens thoughts." Yes, I quoted from the BOOK. Where, you'll have to google.

We must unite in revival of ourselves and country and then expose and do away with this EVIL!

The times must be shortened or man kind will extinct itself.

Get to work!

Gerald MW, good point. The U.S. $20 gold coin contained .9675 ounces of gold, back when the price of gold was $25/oz. Back then (1933) the intrinsic and face value of the coin were essentially the same. Gold, yesterday, was trading at $948,24.oz., which means, since 1933 the paper dollar has lost 97% of its value, while an ounce of gold still buys the same amount of goods. Mr. Kahre was made an example of, for calling that to people's attention.

Normal Guy, your go-along-to-get-along stance is, unfortunately, pervasive. However, i would suggest that one's loyalty should be to the U.S. Constitution, not to "elected representatives." Art. VI, Sec. 3 requires that "Senators and Representatives...shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution." And Art. IV, Sec. 4 requires that the United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government." If one doesn't know what a Republican government is, how would he ever know if his representatives had violated their Oath of Office?

Someone said up above, maybe you, that the real problem is Congress. President Bush had Democrats in control of Congress his last two years in office. They are still in control. So who's really to blame for the mess we're in?

A saying I came across this morning; 'You can't legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the rich out of prosperity. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Socialism just makes everybody poor in other words.

Eyes, this is not George Bush's economy, it's been Obama's for months. He's tripled the debt since he came into office. It's time to stop looking backwards and see what can be done now. So far, everything Obama has done has made everything worse. Your bias is showing.

Mark dodge, I agree but I would limit Senate terms to two 6-year terms and Representatives to ten 2-year terms. That would require an amendment to the U.S. Constitution which, now, doesn't limit terms. Senator Edward Kennedy (1932-2009) took his brother's (John Kennedy) Senate seat in 1962, thus he was a Senator for 47 years (all of his adult life) and sponsored over 2500 socialist laws - that's too long for anyone to be a congressman.
