Bowing To China: What It Means To Our Future
April 28, 2010 by John Myers
“Let China sleep, for when China awakes she will shake the world.” Napoleon Bonaparte.
American greed and extravagance has awakened China, and an eastern shadow is being cast on an indebted and divided America. At stake is our economic future.
It seems hard to believe but in just two generations, from Richard Nixon to Barack Obama, America has crumpled from world kingpin to global has-been. In fact this month President Obama bowed before Paramount Leader of China, Hu Jintao, at the nuclear security summit.
Little wonder our President defers to the Chinese leader. The Treasury Department’s monthly Treasury International Capital report was just released and it shows China with $877.5 billion in long-term Treasury debt. Even worse, the Obama administration needs the Chinese government to buy part of the estimated $2.4 trillion in Treasury debt that Washington must sell off this year.
The Obama administration is praying that the Communists will waddle-up and buy hundreds of more billions of dollars in Uncle Sam IOUs. So far things are not panning out. In February China trimmed its holdings of United States Treasury debt by 1.3 percent, the fourth consecutive decline.
Unless China antes up the recovery will crash and burn. Without robust foreign demand for U.S. Treasuries, interest rates that Washington pays to keep the country solvent will soar.
Business Week reported last week that U.S.-China relations are strained on several fronts, including Chinese censorship, the value of the Yuan, the Copenhagen climate conference, even Obama’s meeting with the Dalai Lama. The final point underscores just how little leverage America has—the spiritual leader had to be shown out the back door of the White House, sidestepping trash, for fear that the Chinese might be angered.
Nixon’s Biggest Blunder
Short of sacrificing Taiwan and living in economic servitude, there may be no pleasing China. According to The Daily Caller, “In either public or private, China will not take orders from the U.S. or anyone else. Not only has Obama’s rhetorical magic not worked on China, he has received a public dressing down by Chinese officials. It was simply a reminder of new global realities. Ultimately, no one will tame China.”
It is a far cry from the world we knew 40 years ago. History may yet declare that Richard Nixon’s worst blunder was not Watergate but his awakening of China. When Nixon played his China card in 1972 the U.S. had no diplomatic relations, no embassy; not even an established route of communication with China. But in less than two generations the Soviet Union, America’s then rival, crumbled. Beijing has filled the vacuum. Today it is our largest creditor and it is becoming an unprecedented economic colossus.
This year China’s gross domestic product (GDP) will top $5 trillion, making it the world’s second-largest economy behind only the U.S. In fact, China has eclipsed Japan five years sooner than was forecast. According to The New York Times, China has also surpassed Japan in having the biggest trade surplus and foreign currency reserves, as well as the highest steel production. China has even overtaken Japan as the world’s largest automobile producer.
C.H. Kwan, a senior fellow at the Nomura Institute of Capital Market Research, left China in the late 1970s to capture the magic that was Japan. Today he believes he got it all wrong. Based on current growth and currency trends, Kwan forecasts that the Chinese economy will surpass the United States by 2039. And that date could move up to 2026 if China lets its currency appreciate by a mere 2 percent a year.
“We’re no longer talking about China making lots of shoes,” said Kwan. “China is about to leave everyone behind in a big way.”
In terms of wealth and power China is becoming what America use to be. China’s GDP grew a shade less than 12 percent in the first quarter of this year. Even more impressively, inflation remained low during the quarter, up just over 2 percent. Strip away food prices, which have jumped because of a major drought, and inflation would almost be flat.
What makes China’s accomplishment so remarkable is that 40 years ago the nation was impoverished. An estimated 90 million Chinese died under Chairman Mao’s rule, making him thrice as an effective killer of his people than was Joseph Stalin. China has polished up its image on the world stage with dalliances like hosting the Olympic Games, but Mao’s grand ambitions are very much intact.
According to the April 15, FX Street.com: “China is out for world domination.”
No Tickey No Money
China’s military may not yet challenge the U.S., but Beijing wields the world’s most powerful weapon—credit. China’s foreign reserves, the world’s largest, rose to a new high of $2.45 trillion at the end of March, up a whopping 25 percent from a year earlier.
It wasn’t until 2006, or 30 years after Mao’s death, that China accumulated its first $1 trillion in foreign reserves. Yet by last April that amount had doubled to $2 trillion and by the end of this year Beijing may hold in its hands $3 trillion in foreign reserves. If Obama gets his way, $1 trillion of that sum will be in liquid Treasury instruments. All that money has a lot of strings.
Last month Premier Wen Jiabao, China’s top economic official, lectured Washington to take "concrete steps" to reassure Treasury investors. Keep in mind the irony: Jiabao, a communist, is demanding that the Obama administration rein in big government spending and preserve the greenback’s integrity. While Obama bows publicly to Beijing, he appears oblivious to their demands on curbing spending. The consequences of this will be horrendous.
Our future boils down to Washington’s insatiable demand for more money. Earlier this month Commodity Online reported that seven U.S. states are in worse financial condition than Greece, Ireland, Portugal and Spain. “Shelter may prove hard to find. With a $3.83 trillion budget, a $12.3 trillion federal government debt, a $1.35 trillion 2010 budget deficit and $63 trillion in unfunded liabilities, the fiscal condition of the U.S. has come into question and foreign interest in U.S. Treasuries has declined.”

As the graph above shows, rates on 10-year Treasuries are now touching on 4 percent, twice as high as they were 16 months ago. If China continues to withdraw from weekly multi-billion dollar Treasury auctions—or worse yet starts to sell some of its Treasury holdings—interest rates will soar. Given the vastness of America’s borrowing needs I would not be surprised to see Treasury yields double again over the next 12 months. That will damn the recovery and kill the bull market in Big Board Stocks. So far only Obama has been bowing down to China, but unless he gets a grip on federal spending, we will all have to get in the prone position.
Action To Take: Sell any and all bonds other than three-month Treasury bills. Lock in interest rates wherever possible. Don’t buy into the bull market on Wall Street. It is as hollow as a fortune cookie.
Yours for real wealth and good health,
John Myers
Myers’ Energy and Gold Report

China is over-rated. It seems pretty clear to me that the real fear and loathing (what Mr. Myers wrote about last week), is the kind that he stirs up. America still has the best medical care, best education system and greatest military in the world. That’s not going to change for decades, if ever.
Obama’s kissing up to China is obscene. They hold almost a trillion dollars of our debt, which makes China our master and America their slave. Wake-up Jake before it is too late!
The WalMarts of the world are as responsible as anyone for sending manufacturing to China. They insist in pricing goods that make American labor unacceptable. Our own consumers are part of the problem, too. They want cheap and don’t care if their neighbors are employed. We started down this road way before Obama took office and he is just dealing with the pragmatic reality of the situation.
Most great powers that give up their manufacturing to cheaper foreign labor ultimately suffer for doing so. Great Brittain is having similar problems having lost their heavy industry.
I try to buy American, but it’s getting increasingly difficult.
China, who invested heavily in Science and math education, does not want the cheap manufacturing jobs anymore. They have turned their country around by education. They, like India , are competing for the high-tech high paying jobs that push their Countries forward. Sadly, this morbidly Christian nation is so afraid of Science, that they elect Republicans who gut education ever time they get into office. Other countries are liberal and provide free education to their kids. Thus, the cheap paying manufacturing lines, like WAMMO are coming back to the U.S. for our morbidly stupid home school educated Christian dumbass’ to have. Who would hire a scientist who thinks the Earth is 6,000 yrs old and that fossils were planted by the devil? Religion ruins everything.
WowHoo!!!
Nickwolf!! You are batting 1001!!!
Yes you are so correct it isn’t even funny. You really nailed it.
The only issue I take with you isn’t that religion, or more percisly, a belief in God, is the problem, its dimwitted people leaning on religion to promote stupidity out of fear of being disloyal to a God they barely understand.
And it is kinda funny too, because they will stand up and spout off some nonsense, about the world being 6,000 years old but never offer to answer any questions, unless they define the parameters. LOL!
That only works with idiots.
Fossils were “Planted” by the Devil????
Planted???
LOL!!!!
You know, you just can’t make this stuff up!
For high comedy, it doesn’t get better than this…LOL!!!!!!
Thank you all!
I now have new jokes for the next party!! LOL!!!!
And if we don’t agree with what HONEST science proves, then we can conviently say that the Devil hijacked the results….right? Why not?
And everytime something goes wrong in our lives we can assume the Devil is screwing with us. And is maybe behind the actions of others….right?
In the end, we can believe nothing, and trust nobody, and believe in things that we cannot prove.
Does this sound like mental illness to anyone?
Believe in God….and Get your head straight.
You’re a moron Nickwolf. Blame your liberal educationalists who you seem to think have all the answers… they’re the only idiots who have held back this country & are driving it into the ground. The wholesale hijacking of education by liberal dimwits, along with the deliberate undermining of Christian-based morality since the early ’60′s has put this country on the ropes.
Apparently home-educated kids seem to take home an inordinately large amount of academic prizes over the last few years.
I know how that narrative goes, something like this “A long, long time ago…”, you know…”millions of years”. Yeah right, pure fantasy!
…but then you’re a bit of a sheep…you keep believing that liberal drone & go back to sleep!!
nickwolf, You are a complete idiot. The devil planted it here? Damn what a moron.
Since the US Government has left GOD out, we will be speaking Chinese, and eating rice. God is the only solution to the United States problem. If we don’t get rid of the Muslim President, we are doomed, and also all the other idiots in the whitehouse that voted for the Health Care Bill.
asside from Nickwolf’s bigoted comments about christians he also sounds like a crybaby
Nickwolf,
How do you like these religious morons? Some believe the bible is accurate history. If you disagree wih them, then these nuts really be come unglued.Their favorite target is Eyeswide Open, one even stooped so low calling her a —-.I have been called coalscbber and bunch other names. Their ignorance is amazing. You can’t tell them the Bible means books and is a copy of other myths, proven to be a fraud, time and time again. If you do, they really get nasty.Have you read Deceptions and Myths of the Bible? It is a very scholarly and highly accurate expose’ of religion and its hold on people. It can be order over the internet.Have a nice day.
The Roman empire existed for Hundred of years. In 313AD Constantine adopted Christianity as the Empire’s Religion. A short 163 years later in 476AD the empire began to fall.
When you think about it, think about how many people have died in the name of religion. It’s one thing to believe in a God or supreme being, but when it turns to killing someone because they believe the same as you then something is wrong. Yet it is the history of the world. The Christians did it too even though Jesus taught to love everyone, yet they still killed in the name of God. I believe some on here would certainly be willing to do it too if one day someone came along and told them God wanted it.
The Bible is made of books written hundreds of years after the events happened. The early church then took those books and went through them and decided which ones to include in the Christian Bible and which ones to leave out. Just ordinary men made the decisions what to include and what to exclude. They are stories that are supposed to lead us in the direction of God. It’s not historical fact.
I never heard the comment about the devil planting fossils by I love it. Very Funny LOL
NICKWOLF,
Excuse me…I produced twin daughters who are electrical engineers…both A students. They are married to electrical engineers. Guess what? We are all Christians. God Bless You.

6000 years old, That is not Biblical to start with, “in the beginning the earth was void and without form” also it was covered in water-it does not say anything about its age, and most Bible believers will tell you that is the age of the present form, as for the all the other things found that are older does leave a question and something for people to guestion. The Bible also reads that if you cannot see God in everything that you see that He will turn you over to a reporbate mind. Whether you believe or not is up to you. Now take a look at the book of Daniel written during the era of 600-538 B. C. It told the king Nebucanezer which countries would follow him–The Medes and the Peersians–the Greece–then Rome, then check out world history, there you will find the exact order. And what about Israel being restored as a self ruling country after 2500 years, that is fortold way before it happened. Then look at Isiah 53, and after you read it then look at the four gospels, which were written during the first century. This country has never been a christain nation, just a nation with a bunch of christains. Some which are actually unlearned and have not studied the Bible, but if any of you will give reading it a chance you might find that it is accurate in the history of events for the time that it covers. It also tells about increased knowledge–world events that are taking place now. All belittleing each other will never get this country anywhere, You all know that it is your choice wether to believe in God or not and always up to the person. Don’t wait to long to research the Bible for yourselves. As long as this country keeps going like it is it will not last long. Both parties are at fault right along with the rest of us. We should not be enemies in our on land. KCM
Delores Smith,
“God help us. We in the hands of engineers”
Zak and Darrel,
Nickwolf is right.
Google this: The Devil planted the dinosaur bones.
See all the results. Many Young Earth believers actually do think this. Open another browser, copy and paste that sentence, and see.
Just because someone doesn’t buy into the Young Earth nonsense doesn’t make them a disbeliever in God. Not all Christians on record believe that God was working from a 24 hour day time frame either.
Young Earthers or YEC’s as they are called, believe in the Young Earth, simply because they have added up the years from the time of Adam and Eve.
Day one God created Heaven and the Earth. What makes you so sure God was using 1 Earth day to measure creation?
How do you know it was not 1 Heaven day? And how long would 1 day in Heaven be? Heaven is not a planet, so whos to say how long 1 day would last there?
My point is, there are other thoerys on this, and they don’t have to question God.
The Earth is roughly 4.5 billion years old. No credible evidence indicates otherwise. God works through natural selection and evolution. Not the kind of knee jerk evolution you have been programed to get sick over either.
If God set up the laws of nature and the ecosystem, why can’t you believe in natural selection?
And….did it ever occur to anyone….That perhaps the dinosaurs existed in the morning for say a few million years, then in the afternoon, after they were gone….God created man? All on the same day?
If you believe in a universal Creator, who has the power to create the universe and all thats in it, who lives for eternity, who’s day could be 2.5 billion Earth years long, then its entirely possible. You have nothing that contradicts this.
No…you people are the idiots. Because the truth is, no one really knows.
nickwolf,
then why did China build a two million square foot factory and buy Milwaukee tools two or three years ago??? Lock, stock barrel and most importantly, name!!! They pay about 1.33 an hour and send the product back here and sell them at the same price they did when it cost 12 to 14 dollars an hour to build them. I have the 50th anniversary model sawsall and I wouldn’t trade it for love or money, but I wouldn’t give 5.00 for any tool they make now!!!
From personal experience the only real morbidly stupid dumb asses I ever met were from public schools. The kids that were home schooled may have to deal with their existential beliefs, as we all do/did, as they grow older but were far more intelligent than the public schooled idiots that face the only real ‘job’ they can find which is being cannon fodder for the Bush/Cheney lies. But, to set your mind at ease, be sure that the bank accounts of those two draft dodgers is growing exponentially.
One big reason Americans started buying cheaper stuff from anywhere is the American unions. Lets face it our problems start and end here in this country. A union worker making $60.00/hr putting lugnuts on a cars kinda says it all.
H,Jordin, over seas manufacturing has been going on long before this my friend. Back in the 80′s, in the gift business, artists that created their own original art pieces, such as in wood sculpture, clay, Found it was much cheaper by far, to create an original here, and then send the work over seas and have it mass produced there, rather than try to pay production, labor & supply costs here in the US. Which by far was much higher. That was all well and good, until the foreigners “dim light brightened”, and they realized they could make United States Art products on a much less expensive scale, then turn around and wholesale it back to US consumers here, who apparently didn’t mind or didn’t know they were buying Americana Art, that was made in a foreign country. Over seas production of any kind, has hurt the US greatly. It’s time we get back to basics and depend on ourselves here in the US.
If you want American made art, buy directly from the artists. Visit craft shops where they sell American made crafts. You can tell if something is foreign made. It falls apart the minute you get it home. You get what you pay for.
American Citizen – I’ll second that!
American Citizen, Thanks, I know how to tell the difference, I was a professinal artist in clay, wood sculpture and a water colorist, for over 30 years. I used to do International gift shows. But, I was one of the ones, however that never sold out to foreign manufacturing, but we did shows with plenty of famose artists that did.
So..So TRUE! I have made it a point NOT to buy anything from China or else where other then the United States. I get upset at my family and friends that do so, and have ask them NOT to buy me anything, gift or other wise from any where then the good ole US of A. I sure wish other Americans would do the same because at the end of it all it will cost us all way more then that crap people buy at the so called dollar stores. I wish are large comp. would stop buying from China also like Sam’s..Wal-Mart and so on, and as for Target!..Never-Never will buy from them, after all, are they not owned by the French?,I could be wrong, but don’t think so. So to every die hard AMERICAN…PLEASE turn over that product you are thinking of buying, and if you see “made in china or else where” put it back and maybe pay a few extra dollars and buy the one that says…Made in AMERICA!!..God Bless you and yours
Baby,
Try to find a good lock blade knife now!! Buck? China. Schrade? China! Almost all of them are foreign made. I finally found a good lock blade knife that is American made!! SOG brand. they have a pocket size spring assisted lock blade for about 20.00! Took me about two years of turning over packages to find it!!
President Obama bowing to Chinese leaders is “obscene”? Then what about both G. Bush the Bigger and G.Bush the Smaller practically fellating Saudi leaders (you know, from the country from which most of the 911 attackers came)?
You Teabaggers just cannot admit that your reaction to President Obama is all hooked-up into your web of racism. Even those of you who are not overtly racist are dealing with hundreds of years of white boy conditioning. You point out all sorts of flaws that you see in the legally-elected President Obama, while dismissing or ignoring THE SAME things done by Bush the Smaller who was NEVER elected to the presidency.
Like the rest of the White Estates of America, you Teabaggers are a joke on the world stage.
Alex, let me guess, the White States of America was a freudian slip, that or YOU are what you accuse others of being, a racist.
That is so worn out it’s actually meaningless anymore…
It is getting old that Obama supports feel a need to call everyone racist when they don’t agree with the president’s actions or policies. Disagreeing with OBama’s policies and actions is not racist, it is called having a different opinion.
Even more comical is this garbage that america just needs to get use to having a black man with OBama. Has everyone forgotten that OBama is not just a black man, he is also half WHITE. OBama is just as much white as he is black. But it is clear hates his white half. Until americans begin to look at each other as people instead of Black, hispanic, white, ect there will always be rasicsm. So let’s drop the color and creed and start looking at actions. America is in trouble and our current President is not helping to bring us away from the edge of the cliff.
“WE’RE AMERICANS AND WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DISAGREE WITH ANY ADMINISTRATION!”
kate8,
Well stated! I didn’t agree with most of what Bush did, but I don’t agree with anything Obummer has done so far, and with the way he does things, I doubt I ever will!!!
ALEX,
NOT RACIST….NOT VIOLENT…JUST NO LONGER SILENT..
Delores Smith
Delores109@cox.net
Alex?..Like..WOW, you are really going to try that played out, Old, Sorry excuse Race card chit? Lmao! People who throw out that over played card only do so when they can find no other excuse. I think it is sick to call other people racist when they don’t agree with you…Shame on you! Now there are some true racist, that’s a fact, but they love being called one, but don’t call someone out their name, like a racist, when they clearly don’t have the same politics as you do. If, you truly believe Obama is good for America, then you really need to watch and read up on the news. Obama is going to try and end our great nation that has taking Americans years to make it the greatest nation on earth! and that has nothing to do with race! My family is the melting pot, and trust me, WE all don’t like him
..and if you don’t get it…then start practicing your Bowing, but as for me, I would bow to no one but the good LORD!..God bless you Alex, and put that race card..nope, not going to say it..lol!
Jake, are you NOT paying attention? We do still have the best of the best, but not for long…the Obam adminstration is making sure of that. It is time that sleepers wake up and stop taking for granted that this America as we know it is going to stay this way….We Americans need to stand up and let our voices be heard , that we will not tolerate the massive changes that are being made behind our backs and without our consent. Our America IS changing, and NOT for the Better. It’s very sad to see so many “sleepers” just let things slide by and assume that the President and all of his foolish goonies are doing and making changes that are in our best interest…to them we are insignificant and stupid—-
It won’t stay this way if we don’t do something to regain control of Obama’s Congress and send them all packing? and never underestnate CHINESE?We have to start with where this began and ITS NOT BUSH!
In 2007 the demcrats have been the one spending the money?Congress i8s the money spender, but Obama has been there and voted for all the expenditures that was appoved.
It’s time we all wake up and fprce Barrack?barry to provide his papers?and Im not asking for hie photo shopped C.O.L.B.,Im talkinh about how and where did he get the money to attend college in the states? He had to have defrauded the Foriegn Exchange students? It will show that he applied and recieved money meant for foriegin Students? well If he was and he isn’t an American ,but he claims he is???Why would he have to steal money from real foriegin Students Organizations? That makes Obama?Soetoro a liar and a thief ?what else do you think hes hiding? What is worth spending Million to hide?I think since Obama is now using our tax dollars to help pay to hide his criminal acts we should be able to know? SIGN THE PETTITONS TO FORCE OBAMA TO SHOW US HIS PAPERS?because its not the Brith certifcate that hes afraid of but his school records?
Runningbear, according to my research on the subject, it seems that Barry has been groomed for most of his life for this. His funding has come largely from foreign interests, including the Russians, Saudis and Soros. Most of his education and background was invented and/or staged, and he never was a very bright student nor very well liked (coming from the extremely few who even remember him.) He can read a teleprompter showing words written by his handlers, but away from that he is a complete moron and a buffoon.
No one comes out of nowhere to be Senator for a few months and then POTUS without being funded by some people in REALLY high places. And the media and government (both sides of the aisle) cover for him. When the truth came out, they had to use ridicule to try to keep us quiet. In spite of all media efforts, the numbers of those who want him to prove himself is growing. This is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people, and it is high treason on the part of everyone in our government who is involved or has failed to speak out.
kate8, you have a pretty good handle on the situation and I know that also from the same deep research of looking beyond the very obvious.
Obamacrimes.com
President Obama to you! Remember, landslide election, democracy. He’s the only chance we have of competent management and growth for our sadly neglected Country.
Sheep are easier to fleece, so Christians want dumb kids….these then become Southern Senators and Congressmen and march us backwards in time. We will pass China and India on the wrong way down. History favors the intelligent…Better fight for the side that wants a strong middle upwardly mobile population. Instead fear mongers scare you into running backwards. Things change …get over it. America used to lead the changes , now we follow them…How sad!
I will never recognize that fraud until he proves himself, just like every other POTUS has had to do.
You have everything exactly backwards. Kids that come out of Christian schools perform far better than kids that go to the liberal indoctrination centers, both academically and socially. Just reading many of these posts attests to that. This is not meant to be derogatory, just a fact.
How about skating through Harvard on Daddy’s name??
Is that fraud? Especialy when you come away from it with a Harvard degree?
Is that fraud?
No idelogical warefare here…..Just make sure when you point the finger, you don’t have 3 pointing back at yourself.
The cheapers are in both parties.
Thats my point.
I’m sorry. You’re point was lost on me.
How does that have anything to do with attaining the highest office in the land without following the Constitutional requirements? And hiding your past from the people you are supposed to lead, by sleazy and conspiratorial means?
I call high treason a pretty serious issue.
Tom sounds remarkably similar to another hack from Florida, but then all the hacks sound similar…gotta keep your “eyes” open for these chumps.
Exactly kate8, Tom’s reply, and Nickwolfs comments, confirm that the liberal dumbing down of the last 50 odd years works effectively!
I’m an Independent, have been my whole life. I’m not liberal, but a conservative leaning registered Independent.
Your answer below sound an awful lot like George W Bush.
He got a free ride through Harvard.
Shredded the Constitution with the USA Patriot Act. {And don’t tell me you would rather trade Liberty for Safety because thats what the Partiot Act does}
Bush hides the extent of his alcoholism, past drug use and his time in the National Guard when he went A-Wol.
I too think Treason is a pretty serious issue.
Get my point now?

As far as Obama goes, his “Healthcare Reform” non reform bill was a huge check mark against his as far as I’m concerned.
But I will reserve judgement on Obama until he’s been office longer. He has reclaimed TARP money from GM, and is due to get back 600 billion this year alone. Bush passed the cash out with no strings attached.
I would assume as a taxpayer, you would think its better to get the money back than not. Correct?
Obama’s so called Socialist takeover of GM, Chrysler, ect, was not what your favorite news people have filled your heads with. The Fed’s control of those companies were the “Strings Attached” part of the deal that ensured that YOU the taxpayer got your money back.
Now Obama has proposed regulations to clean up Wall Street. I think thats a good thing. Wall Street is out of control. Republicans oppose it, because they receive money from Wall Street.
I think Wall Street regulation is needed. Unless you didn’t mind when Goldman Sachs was looting the Treasury crying broke, after setting up America in large PART for the biggest housing meltdown we have ever seen. And the big banks the games they play with the credit card terms. If it were a really honest agreement, they wouldn’t feel the need to bury the nasty details in fine type in the middle of a multi page agreement. The name of the game for them is legal robbery.
So we’ll see about Obama. We’ll see how effective he is at actually fixing America’s problems.
You know, theres an awful lot of propanda out there on the left and the right. You people, unknown to you, have fallen victim to it. You don’t even realize it. You are so convinced.
I don’t give a rats a*s if he’s a muslim or not. America was founded on religious freedom.
The whole God issue. More brainwashing. Mistakes always start with an assumption. Your assumptions are that you people know the answer. You don’t. And I am talking to a lot of people here.
No one knows the answer for sure. What you have instead is a belief. A belief based on the assumption that you have the answer. That only makes you wrong.
There are many ways to look at something. A belief that does not match your own does not necessarily make someone a Communist, an aitheist, a Liberal, or wrong.
Those are simply labels. And labeling is a tired out worn tactic of those desperate to gain the upper hand.
I say you people are wrong only because you absolutely believe you are right. Not everyone here, but many.
I am sorry, but I come away from this with the idea, that many of you people ARE actually stupid.
Which extreme leftist organization are you a shill for?
Leftist leaders have exploited the middle class and the poor to fleece you of both your money and your power. Like drug dealers who give away drugs to get you started…leftists tell you what you want to hear, the most powerful drug of all.
Who told you that? Rush?
I am amazed at how really (words removed for offensive content) or maybe evolution did happen to some people. They evolved from swine or skunks, because they sure stink up the place. I look forward to looking down at these people when they get their judgment and hearing their excuses. Maybe if we all pray for them, they will see the light and find what the rest of us have found. It’s unbelievable to think that there are nonbelievers still in this world. And another thing, the dems are responsible for bringing down our education system. In order for a socialist state to thrive, they need to take out educated people and make the masses ignorant, like nickwolf and tom. Pol Pot did it in Cambodia, Mao did it in China, and Stalin was working on it in Russia. In order for them to be smarter than anyone else, they have to get rid of the smart people. Nick and Tom, your make me laugh at your stupidity!!!!
Look around Jake. The things you say won’t change are changing as we speak. I never thought I would see it in my lifetime, but I’m not going to deny it’s happening.
Jake, it is the arrogance of your ill-informed statement that was also shared by the great Roman empire, right before the might giant fall. History does repeat itself. Jake, this isn’t about which side is right or wrong, this is about what is the truth. All actions have consequences… history has shown what the consequences of other great countries have been that have made similar choices to what America is making. Jake, how much history have you,or other Americans, taken the time to read, research, and learn so you have a true understanding of what is at stake? Are you seeking the truth or stating what is conveient so you don’t have to take responsibility for your actions? I would you to start asking why would the writer state what he is stating and look at the history, culture, and statements of China? Are the writers claims true? China is very open that they will NOT stop until they are the World Power. They do not respect human rights, they are communistic, (remember the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989?) – Do you really think that present day America is any threat to today’s China? China who has a standing army of more people than the entire population of the US, nuclear missles, the long term stock piling of commodities (water, wood, food, and energy sources – look up the agreement China just made with Hugo Chavez for Oil), and WE OWE THEM BILLIONS and now want to ask for a Trillion to cover pork spending and special interest group wants. We have a president who bows down to show submissiveness to China? With all due respect, Jake, you are wrong, don’t understand foreign culture, and misinformed. Unless Americans wake-up to the truth, we are lemmings heading over a cliff. Last comment – Jake do you know that China openly refers to us as “Chinamerica” – China believes they have already won the fight to dominating and taking over America. God help us – it seems that the enemy is not just China – the enemy is within from people like Jake who would rather put their head in the sand and act like we will exist forever – than look for a solution that includes hard work, denying self of materialism, and understanding and defending or constitution. Again, God help us.
Of course Jake and all of the obalama nut cases don’t understand. They don’t believe that obalama can do no wrong, and is always right. obalama keeps right on bowing to all these foreign leaders, and apologizing for the United States. Their heads are in the sand.
It’s true, America does have the best medical system in the world for now, but that will change with Obama Care. As far as education, it’s the worst amoung industrial nations.
Bob M.,
Two reasons for our education system being so bad. One is the government enterference calling for all this PC crap and the feel good aspect. The other is the non-involvement of the parents in their childrens education! We have to make sure our children are getting a quality education in the subjects they need to compete in todays dog eat dog world! educating a kid in how johnny and sally feel today does nothing to help them advance in todays world.
Joe H:
Quote”Two reasons for our education system being so bad. One is the government enterference”
You mean Interferrence?
I think there are far more than just two reasons.
That’s clearly a typo. When someone is trying to type fast enough to get the post where it should be, mistakes happen. That’s the only misspelled word in his post, so it’s clearly a typo.
Thank you American Citizen,Some people are just a tad Anal!!!
The last six diagnosis for my parents, done at the Cleveland Clinic, were all wrong. The CEO from Kaiser said we have an 8% chance of getting the right diagnosis?? We pay twice as much as other countries and get half as much coverage. We go bankrupt when we get really sick? The Insurance companies lord it over doctors and will black ball them if they don’t follow the bean counters methods for health care….which equates to a few tests then …your alright and sent home. In Europe they keep testing you until they find out whats wrong…not here!
YOU CALL THAT GREAT? I ALMOST LOST BOTH MY PARENTS IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS..GOING TO THE BEST HOSPITAL IN THE COUNTRY!! WAKE UP AND SEE THAT CORPORATIONS DON’T CARE IF YOU LIVE , THEIR POLICY’S ARE FOR PROFIT …NOT YOUR HEALTH!
Nickwolf… I hear you!
You are speaking of the realitys of American medicine….
Not the concept of it. Yes in concept we have the best.
But in Practice, we find out its all been hijacked by special interests, and profit is the name of the game.
Even a die hard conservative capaltalist reviles in horror at the injustice of a medical system that puts profit ahead of principal.
But they of course will never admit to that.
You have to live through it to really know.
Those who don’t….Shut up and stand down!
My primary care doctor said the other day she is tired of fighting bureaucrats, who are not doctors, getting between her and her patients and their care.
But otherwise, I can say I have had the best care for fighting breast cancer, 13 years and counting, and just finished with cataract surgery. Am now seeing more clearly than I have in years. What a difference. You need to know your doctors. But I’m sure most, if not all, really do want what’s best for their patients and try to help them. They are also human, not God, and it’s up to the patients to what, if any, care they want. I’ve made decisions on my own as to what tests and treatments I wanted after listening to the doctors and doing some research.
Tom, were you ever a Republican supporter?
The medical care you get is what you pay for! Don’t moan about it, nothing is infallible.
Everyone keeps moaning about how foreign government healthcare is better, blah…. It ain’t that good, you can wait months, even years to get procedures done or just get put back on the waiting list! There’s no guarantee you can get the medicine you need, quotas and priority lists are rife.
I should know I have lived in New Zealand for years, the cost of socialized medicine is absolutely horrendous. Any one with half a brain goes private.
Tom — And I agree with you.
Tom,
when the Shah of Iran was in the Cleveland Clinic on the heart ward,(He Chose the best) My Father in law was put on the Stomach ward after a quadruple by-pass! Guess what? He survived! It IS the best hospital in the US!!! People from all over the world come to the Cleveland Clinic as they are the number one teaching hospital in the country!
nickwolf— I am truly sorry about your parents. And I know exactly how you feel. Read my post farther down–about my husband. When my Mother died, she was on 12 different medications. She was like a zombie. When she went into a coma it was like they did nothing to help her. Small town hospital. She was a diabetic–and they gave her glucose and aspirin. They were “waiting” for the doctor. Other than glucose and aspirin he ordered no treatment. He arrived 13 hours later, he was too late because she died about 10 minutes before he got there. I try to tell myself it was her “time” to go but this does not give me satisfaction. He came up to my sisters and gave them each a hug. He walked over to me, tried to give me a hug and I told him to get the hell away from me. Sure, I blame the doctor, and maybe I am wrong, but to me if a person wants to be a doctor then they should conduct themselves accordingly. Most people choose their line of work and it is up to them to do a good job.
How would you know?
just some Pro American assumption?
Ever live overseas? Ever spend time in an overseas hospital?
Doubt it.
In my 76 years, I’ve spent many days in American hospitals and always got quality care. I’ve never been overseas and don’t care to go there. I love my country and its people. It’s too bad that too many want us to change and be like the Europeans. A lot of them come here for care, as do people from Canada. Look at the number of illegal immigrants coming here because they know they can have a better life here. Wake up before it’s too late.
Tom,
yes I have! Gorgus(SP?) hospital in Panama and Navy bien tuy hospital in VietNam!! I’ll still take the U.S.!!!!
So you seem to believe that even though America is basically bankrupt and could steal every cent of every person’s savings and not come close to what they need we can continue being the country that we have become accustomed to being? You are either not aware of the severity of our situation or you are stuck in the same thinking that alot of others are….no spending cuts,no slashing social programs, just raise everyone’s taxes.Obama would be proud….he might even give you a courtesy bow.
It is obvious to me that you have never been to China– I worked in that country and lived with the people. You are in for a very rude awaking sir.
…and then you awoke from your deep dreamy slumber…
What ensures that?
An undieing belief in American Seperiority?
If intelligence and hard work make the difference, then tell me what holds back the Chinese, except your beliefe perhaps that on idealogical ground communism simply cannot win?
Why are we not talking about Wall Street Reform?
Its a swirling issure right now. Anybody not talking about it who knows, is serving Wall Street and those who Screwed America Big Time.
Hey, while all this is going on…..
Does anyone notice that the Wall Street Reform Bill is being sidetracked?
I mean Wall Street seriously needs some reform, unless you like getting screwed by Big Business. The Wall Streeters have done so much damage to America its not even funny. Its a real problem. Why are we not talking about this?
Media censorship? Or is it the censorship of Personal Politics?
Why are we not talking about it?
This is important. Yet Even Bob Livingston is not covering it. We cannot live in a society where we all have to obey the law, but corporations do not.
You want to fight a police state? Then fight the corporations that can do anything they want with no reguard to the law. I don’t want to live in an America where there is no distinction between large corporatins and government.
In govenrment, we elect our representatives. In Corp America,,,,we do NOT. Yet these same people regulary buy immunity from prosecution with the very same bribary that makes Washington run.
Its time to end it if you want to save your country.
While psydo-conservatives debate illegal immigration, a more pressing hazard to America goes unaddressed.
I have been saying for more than a year now, why hasn’t Pres Obama put through regulations to reign in the big banks that have caused so much damage to America, and were in large part responsible for the economic troubles that plauge every small and large business.
Without regulations and laws that govern behavior, Corp America, specifically Banking America runs hog wild with no EFFECTIVE laws to restrain them.
Kind of like Jessee James in the Wild West, with no real law to fear.
Where were the regulations that would reign in the big banks that have caused so much damage in America? Where were the Changes??? He promised them!
Or were we supposed to believe that Bush era policies that caused so much damage were to remain the status quo?
I too believed in deregulation when it was first proposed during the Reagan Era. We were told Energy Deregulation would cause energy companies to compete against each other and that competition would result in LOWER ENERGY prices.
LOL! Well as we all know, Degreulation only opened the door to Enron, and all the abuse that followed. Enron aside, are you happy now with your low energy utility bill? LOL!
Do you think it fair that a handful of oil speculaters can hold an entire country hostage? And bleed the whole nation dry of its wealth? Especially in times of economic trouble when we need all the advantages to pull out?
This is not in keeping with the spirit of “Ask what you can do for your country.” Its more in keeping with, “What can my country do for me?”
Free market principals? LOL! Not when a handful of people or companies have cornered the market and fixed prices. Thats an Anti Trust Violation.
But Immunity from prosecution is bought with campaign contributations and complex book keeping that baffels the best accountants.
Its only gone up steadly since deregulation! LOL! What a scam. And it only could be accomplished by loosening the law.
In a normal Free Market system, competition would result in lower prices. But what they NEVER told you in school, is that the free market has been cornered by a small group of corportaions, and those corporations control pricing dispite market demand.
The law of Supply and Demand has been hijacked.
This is of course an Anti Trust violation. Those in Washington in charge of prosecuting Anti Trust violations have been bought off and paid for.
Thats the problem with our so called “Free Market System.”
If I were a bank robber, and belonged to the Bank Robber’s Lobby, I too would lobby to have less regulation and law governing bank robbery. Wouldn’t you? Less laws to get in the way, less laws to penalize me.
What President Obama has now done, is propose new regulation on Wall Street.
What the Republican controled Senate has done is shoot it down, so that Congress cannot even debate it.
Your Senate wants Wall Street to operate as business as usual. But we already know what problems this has caused. But the Senate does not seem to care.
This is what I mean when I say, they are all on the take in Washington. Senate members are protecting the hand that feeds them.
I have said it many times before….
Political Idealogy will not save America.
Honesty will.
Know when to support something, and know when not to.
I don’t care if you like Obama or not, regulating Wall Street is a very good idea, and it needs to be supported.
Break free from old style party politics and do some good for once.
The Democrats and Republicans are nothing more than the left and right arms of the same corrupt political system in Washington.
Don’t support the Health Care reform bill as it sits, its a bad idea, but support wall Street Reform.
Unless you happen to agree with all the abuse that has gone on in the past.
Its far past the time to wake up.
Nothing’s changed with the Obama administration. They’re only rearranging the deck chairs.
Healthcare reform without tort reform, portability, and support of the medical profession and the public, was a ready-fire-aim-approach. Financial reform without addressing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is the same thing. There is a political agenda here, involving a president who took $1 mil from Goldman Sachs. Why aren’t we talking about that? Obama desperately needs a populist cause to shore up his, and the Democrats’ support. Why aren’t we talking about how government authorized and encouraged the risky lending that led to the meltdown? This ram-it-down-your-throat administration has created an atmosphere in which Americans are angry and want things fixed, but more than ever don’t trust their government to be the fixer! Thus, government is the real problem, and government reform is the best place to invest your political capital. Reform Congress, and other reforms become easier. As for financial reform, let’s take some time to evaluate what Republicans are proposing before giving government more power on faith alone. Heck, Obama could even hold another phony summit. I cannot recall a more dishonest set of politicians in Washington.
Until the voters of this country stand up to all of the congress-people in this “the good old usa” cannot expect any change. When people from different parties or ideals learn to work together, and compromise, try something and if it don’t work, try a different approah, until a workable solution is found don’t expect much. Time is short, so call these people who are supposed to represent you and tell them to wake up to the truth and get their jobs done or be gone come nov. The first thing that needs to go is the lobbist and their money. Money talks louder than we do in the political world–KCM
Of the three things we have that you noted, only one is true, and that is having the greatest military. Bill Clinton tried to destroy it, and now Barack Obama and these new democrats are trying to destroy it and our weaponry, but the American soldiers will not let them destroy it. Our health care system is no longer the best, as Obama and the democrats have just made sure of that. We will be seeing soon a mass exodus of top doctors, and a large increase in our premiums and less covererage so that Joe Crack Dealer can have insurance paid for by all of us working stiffs, and so that the insurance companies Obama and the dems are in bed with can make billions of dollars. Our school system has been a failure for many years, ever since the liberals took control of them. No longer are children recognized for excellence, as it makes the other children feel bad. No longer are kids failed and have their mistakes marked with a red pen, because it makes them feel bad. Everyone is passed through, and now are being taught to strive for mediocrity, as they are told that no one is smarter than anyone, and no one deserves to be recognized for excelling. This is true, if you care to look at what they are doing and have done to the school system. There is no discipline allowed, the students run the teachers instead of the other way around as it should be. While Japan and China and others are teaching their kids how to be computer programmers, and skilled technicians, our school system is teaching kids how to be english teachers, and math teachers, and science teachers, basically using school to make teachers, and teachers are getting laid off all over the country. This was like this back in 1976 when I graduated, and its gotten even worse. Of course now, the liberals have rewrote history and are teaching our children lies about everything, forming books to echo their beliefs, not what actually was. So 2 of the 3 things you listed are wrong.
Hey, don’t forget, nearly all of our kids today are couch potatoes, overweight and to lazy to go outside and play, they want to sit infront of some tv or pc and play goofy games. they have it so easy and will never be able to take care of themselves. they have no ideal how to plant and raise food but now go figure what future they have kcm
JAKE REED,
I think you should read Mr. Myer’s article again, and review what Obama and the Majority have been doing to America. What you describe is what America once was.
Please consider what I have said.
Delores Smith

JAKE man, you must be insane, BUT in ignorance there is Bliss.
You don’t say you’re age but I suspect you’re likely in your
early twenties, with a tremendous lack of historical knowlege except
what you get from FOX, between american idol and the simpsons.
BEST educational system in the world ????
BEST healthcare system in the world ????
BEST military , well perhaps still, but not for long.
What you fail to see and comprehend is that China has a top noch primary and secondary educational system that has since about 10-15
years ago began educating to world standards those kids that are now
coming out of school poised to take advantage of what the world has to offer, usually bilingual (chinese and english)
Best healthcare ? well, even Cuba could challange that statement.
Best military,?? well the PLA still is the primary instrument of the little commie bastards in Peking, and as such their numbers are staggering, they are politically well motivated, and for the last 10
years have been modernising at a furious rate both land sea and air, and space. But their greatest asset is that the leadership of Commie
China, does not give a shit if in any conflict 5000 or 55,000 or
850,000 die in the assault, WHY ? well they not only have many many
more but it’s their idiology, to fight and die for mother china, and
that’s what makes them dangerous and unique unlike many in the west
who for a large part enlist or re-enlist because they can’t get a job
on civilian street. Not nice to hear but a fact.
Keep on living in your little bubble but keep an eye on Commie China.
China is on the way and very close to being the next Super Power. And we have no one to blame but ourselves. Greed and coruption caused it. We outsouced all of our manufacturing jobs to China because of greed. Now we will have to pay the price.
TRUE
Mikey, our own government ran those manufaturers out of town with all of their taxes and regulations so if you owned a co. and the only way you could survive was to move would you? Most likey what most people dont understand is that at the heart of most companies is someone who sacrificed to buiild it,risked their own money and energy to do everything they could to make it prosper i dont blame it them its our stupid government that ruins EVERYTHING
It’s not only the government that’s to blame, the unions also have a hand in it.
You are correct. Having worked at a place for 8 years, that actually had 5 union in it, caused the place to close down. Even though in the last year we made 4 million dollars, the companies got tired of the unions costing them and costing them, as the profits should have been near the 10 million mark, but do to the union attitude of “its not my job”, or “Ive put in my 20 years, you do it”, cost the company millions of dollars, and they had enough and closed up, and re-opened somewhere else later to get rid of these leeches. Add to it a government that taxes the living crap out of successful companies, and its no wonder so many leave. Yet with todays politicians on the left, when a company fails and shows they dont know how to properly run a business, the democrats give them billions of our dollars to squander, as they will be back to broke again soon, and the unions will make sure of that.
Of course, it’s always labor that causes the problems. Poor leadership decisions, corporate greed, and cronies on the boards of directors have nothing to do with it.
In our industry few of the problems are the result of union labor. Most result from lack of vision in leadership. People who acquire power deluding themselves into thinking that they have acquired talent as well, and nepotism.
There is an expression: fecal matter floats to the top.
not just government but greedy workers wanting more and more for less work. how much is enough? more benefits less work, americans need more play time and less work, all the other places sure look good to someone wanting to line their pockets, so move your business there, it started back in the 70′s with the garment industry. cheap labor and high prices. Yes the jobs are gone and not likely to return kcm
Mikey,
I wrote a response to a post you made here earlier…believing you held a right wing position and all that implies…Then I read one of your posts where you reasoned against the idea that someone gay would somehow drive higher health care costs than a straight person would…hmmm a few other posts you made had me rethinking your position, unless you’re a gay repub., the worst kind of traitor, siding with those who wanted gays dead in the 80′s, but still, you did make several statements that redeemed you in my mind…
Due to war Ameriaca wated its precious money in vain and got nothing except criticism. even was unable support economy in recession. its really painfull to see such a great country loosing its wealth.
Shashindra, true, but it doesn’t help our economy if “every” administration ignores the growing deficit and continue to spend, spend, spend. The American people have to take a stand against the out of control government, get rid of these fiscally challenged spenders, tighten their belts and slap the hand every time it reaches for the cookie jar. As long as “we the people” vote these bums in, we allow them to run amok. It’s time to shrink government, hold them accountable for their actions and take back our country.
Yes, JeffH, and, sadly, it is not because our government is composed of idiots. They know exactly what they are doing by spending us into collapse, and are doing it by design.
I have a feeling that things are going to spiral out of control for even the globalist elites. Somehow it may not go the way they envision, though it won’t be good for any of us if we can’t stop it.
I’ll take common sense smart over idiot smart any day of the week. One can have all of the book smarts or education smarts but if there isn’t any common sense smart mixed in, the smart, educated by book guy is gonna take a back seat to common sense every time. Just look at our government.
How right you are. If I owned a business, I would hire the guy that has done the job everyday for a year, before I would hire some kid with a college degree that his rich daddy paid for, who read about it in a book for four years.
Well folks, it’s the FATE of ALL SUPERPOWERS. We’ve seen this so often before. (Pharaonic) Egypt, Imperial Rome, Imperial Spain, The British Empire: they all came and went. Now it’s America’s turn. I won’t shed a single tear, believe me. It’s quite simply a matter of what some people call ‘Karma”. Our decadence, greed and megalomania are backfiring now and America is crumbling apart slowly but surely. Exactly the same thing will happen to China and Brazil if they keep growing. Rest assured.
What a wise statement.
cheers
Frederick,
It is so sickening to see someone that puts so little value on their country. And then Shashindra calls it such a wise statement. You won’t even shed a tear, huh? This country is still the best place to live and this comes from a person that has been to about 25 different countries in this world. this country is still worth fighting for and it can still be turned around and be brought back to what it used to be. your defeatest attitude is one of the problems we in this country have and is causing trouble to no end. “Well it’s too hard and I can’t do anything about it anyways” Bull shat!!!! fight for you country dude! You and others are the only asset we have worth saving this country for!! your children and theirs are what we need to improve this country for man!! We have to do it for their sake and for our very exhistance!!! If you can’t see that then we ARE lost!!! God help us, cause even our own people won’t!!!
Frederick,
Well said. If any of my fellow readers are interested in more on what Frederick said, I urge you to read “The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers: Economic Change and Military Conflict From 1500 to 2000,” by Paul Kennedy,
Glad you are enjoying watching this great nation go down. Being just a bit smug and self-righteous, don’tcha think?
Your tune may start to change when it really starts to hit you and your family hard. Somehow I have a hard time believing you’ll feel so smug when you and yours are suffering.
There have been (and still are) many good and upright people in this country, who have tried to warn us of where we were headed. Not all of us are greedy, treasonous snakes. One day you may long for the days of plenty, and wish you’d done something better yourself.
The Greek Empire, the Roman Empire and the Medo-Persian empires were all given over to lesser enemies, as they became more and more decadent and perverted, and God delivered them into the hands of lesser smaller armies. As the United States steadily moves away from God and his blessings, and continues to kick Him out of everything and out of everywhere, someday we also will be handed over to lesser enemies, when God reaches the point where He says “You want to live without me, here you go”, and we will fall. This is the whole source of our problem, but people either cant see it, or dont want to see it.
Well Spoken, and thank God that the true christian won’t be here when that happens! They want us gone and when we are all hell will break loose. To bad for them kcm
Oh and one more thing: it’s so easy to play the Blaming Game now and point your fingers at President Obama. But as they say, point one finger forward and four others will point your way. Great, ain’t it?
Fredrick… Good take .. Not anything I could disagree with..
Fred. Agreed
Fred, I agree with you this is not the doing of our leadership but our overall greed and indiscretion, and we as people should own it. For me the best example of this is Walmart. We allow the mega stores to drive the smaller mom and pops out in the name of cheaper products and look where its got us. There is no American dream of owning your own business any more. Another consequence to this is American cities and towns no longer have personality. Every place is the same Home Depot, Walgreens, Walmart, McDonalds etc… We’ve lost our identity in the name of cheaper stuff we don’t need (stuff includes the junk food sold to us, but its cheap). By the way I’m not a President Obama fan but he’s not totally to blame. He is fanning the fires though.
Scoderick, I partially agree with what you have to say, but this is/was strategic destruction of our great nation, by shadow powers, for nearly 100 years. These powers then formed the United Nations, a New World Government. Our puppet-in-chief and treasonous congress are trying to take away our sovereignty, and make us abide to laws our forefather fought to restrict.
What the American citizens are guilty of, is lowering its moral values and not passing down the true history of our nation to our children.
It is not unreasonable to conclude that our genetic make-up is to consume as much as possible, based on our Hunt and Forage instincts. Edward Bernays, Sigmund Freud’s nephew, was the creator of public relations. Watch “The Century of the Self”, and it clearly shows how they have manipulated the masses through Consumerism. He said “If we understand the mechanism and motives of the group mind, is it not possible to control and regiment the masses according to our will without their knowing about it? The recent practice of propaganda has proved that it is possible, at least up to a certain point and within certain limits.” While this was happening, Government has grown bigger and bigger, into this huge behemoth monster, while being more intrusive and controlling Education, Healthcare, and Industry. Lecturing people on their habits of survival is misguided. The standard of living wage has been going down since the 50’s, because of our fiat currency system. Individuals can no longer sustain their standard of living with their salaries. Now, I’m not a believer of living outside ones means, however, society has gone from valuing one’s self-worth by their moral behavior, to what they wear, based on the implementation of consumerism. So, I wouldn’t mind going back to the values of, having dinner with the family, meeting my neighbors, spending more time with my kids, and educate them on how, we as Americans, got into this Sh_thole mess. People are so afraid of China being the next Superpower. Big deal. Maybe then, we can use our own resource for the American citizens who sewed them. Not the CIA and Military Industrial Complex’s lust for power.
We are broke by design. America became too powerful, so as in defend itself from the shadow government. Now, by stealth, we are being stripped and handcuffed. Until we can somehow wake up this sleeping giant, I’ll take the steps to protect the ones closest to me. I hope you will do the same. Good day.
MikeC, I agree with most of what you said. The fact is, even the moral decay of our youth was part of the communist/socialist plan. Parents, unwitting to the fact that education had been hijacked by the socialist left, assumed that it was safe to send their kids to school. And yes, they weren’t getting the models they needed at home, either.
Corruption and moral decline was engineered in increments. That way no one can figure out what is wrong until it’s too late. Now, the leftist agenda is being mandated in our schools, and even in our private and homeschool programs. We are being strangled by this beast in every area of our lives, and even our right to teach our children according to our own values is being taken away.
As far as our excessive consumerism, that was engineered, too. Do some research on a guy named Bernays, early 20th century (perhaps the ’20s), nephew of Sigmund Freud. He was hired by the powers-that-be to develop a strategy of effective marketing to engineer the consumer mind-set and practices of the American people, using any and all physcology and technology they knew at the time and continued to develop. And not just consumerism, but moral conduct, as well.
This is something I researched a good while ago, and have forgotten some details, but it is shocking to learn the degree to which we have been mind-controlled, completely unawares. It is well worth checking out for anyone interested in how we got here, and how to change where we are going.
We are, indeed, looked upon as mindless lovestock, to be manipulated for the amusement and benefit of our masters. We are, also, as easily disposed of, just as history repeatedly proves.
Ahhh !!!! The voice of reason…
Its so refreshing to find an individual who has a grasp of the facts…
Kudos man !!!!!!!!
Wake up frederick h obalama is the problem. He can’t seem to take the blame for anything, it is always Bushs fault even after a year and a half of abalamas screw up messes.
Isnt it funny how for 8 years, they stood there and pointed the finger and yelled Bush, Bush, Bush, even after the democratic congress all voted for going to war, they all stood there on TV crying how this guy had WMD’s and need to be stopped, and Bush had enough balls to punch them back, since Bill Clinton didnt, and then they point the finger. And as you say, a year and a half later, after these guys spent more money in the first 8 months than the Bush admin did in 8 years, and have absolutely nothing to show for it other than a huge mess that is getting worse, and they cannot hold themselves responsible for a thing. They still are crying Bush, Bush, Bush. When will it end? How long can you go around blaming someone else for what you do? It reminds me of the race problem in this country, where one race is always blamed for everything, even when in 95 percent of the crap that is going on, they have nothing to do with it. Unbelievable.
You libs know that one well (pointing fingers of blame).
While Obama may not have started this, he has sure grabbed it and run with it, determined to lead us right over the cliff.
China was the Bank Bush used to fund his personal war on Iraq….trillions just wasted….we’ve gotta pay that back with interest……give president Ibama credit… His spending has been on America… And most of the spending you rightwingers complain about was because the republicans ran all the gas out of our countrys economic tank and it takes spending to put some gas back in the economic tank…
It’s been over a year now and the houses in my neighborhood are still being vacated, it looks like a post war zone. People I know are still losing jobs, we have a contract being negotiated at work and lay-offs are imminent. The county and city are laying off thousands.
Obama’s endless words are diametrically opposed to reality. I can’t stand the sight or sound of that phoney, inept, bald-faced liar!!!
Bush spent 8 years making a mess of things. It’s going to take more than a year to get it fixed. Like a previous post stated, all superpowers come to an end. The United States Peaked shortly after WWII and has been on a downhill slide since. Greed and coruption has put us here. Plus we Americans are partly to blame too. We keep wanting cheaper products and buy products from China because they are cheaper. Now look what has happened. Almost everything is made in China. Next time you go shopping see if there is a simalar product that is made in the USA. If there is buy that one even if it cost more.
I spend a lot of time and money searching for American made products, sometimes it’s impossible.
Bush was bad, Obama is an absolute nightmare, 100 times worse than Bush could ever dream of.
Obama is the worst president America could EVER have. I can’t believe there are so many that still can’t see the fraud for what he is.
Just wait til we get Palin / Bachmann. LOL
I hear ya, Cribster.
If all you stupid people would stop shopping at chinamart (walmart) where everything is from china
Just like when you buy these jap cars, all that money goes right back to japan for their economy not ours.
Too many consumers are patriotic with everything but their wallets. I will not set foot in a Walmart.
Sorry, Mikey, but it won’t work. Big Government is the problem, and the only way to solve that problem is to reduce Government dramatically.
Buying American will only enrich the companies who can’t be competitive now because their products are either too shoddy or too expensive. The rest of us would see our lifestyles diminish considerably.
Government and Unions are taking a lion’s share of our financial resources and their employees are overpaid and inefficient.
We need to get back to Free Markets where anybody with a good idea can start a company and prosper without having to butt heads with the Crony Capitalists and their Protectors (Big Government).
You mean “Corporate America” is to blame. We as consumers will buy, hunt, gather, what we need, regardless as to where it came from. Use a little foresight, Mikey!
Bush only had control for the 1st two years in office then the Dem’s
took over and said “Bush will be a lameduck from here out”
Now we have to put up with what ever the Dem’s want, being taxed with out being represented… and we have to watch Obama suck hickies on every world leaders ass “hence him being tea bagged” not to be mistaken as Tea Party Movement. This was ment for the guy who loves
to write tea bagging. Do you understand the difference now.
Bush wasn’t the guy who pushed the sub-prime mortgage snowball. The rest of this commentary could come right out of an anti-Walmart speech. If you want Americans to buy American products, start by looking at factors that make them uncompetitive.
Well actually Bush ran surpluses for most of his time, aside from the last year. He wasn’t perfect, rather average actually, but it’s time for you liberals to get over the Bush hate thing. It’s as old as the “racist” card you lot keep pulling from your rear ends, lol.
I do have to say this, stating just facts. Under Bush, my pay scale almost doubled itself in 8 years. Under Obama, I have taken a 10 percent pay cut. Under Bush, unemployment was at an all time low, and under Obama it is at an all time high. Just the thought of a democrat coming into office, caused business’s to tighten up as they all know the democrats raise taxes on business’s, and that made things start going in the tank. Now that these lepers are running things, they have ran things straight into the ground, and are digging a hole quicker than anyone has ever seen, while continuing to stand on their little pedestal, point the finger, and yell Bush, Bush, Bush. Its not right. I remember very clearly when the Bush admin took over from Clinton, that the economy was in the tank bigtime. They rolled up their sleeves and went to work, and I never once saw them go on national TV and point the finger and yell, Clinton, Clinton, Clinton. I never heard them complain about how bad of shape Clinton left things in. No, they went to work and righted the ship. Now today, a year and half later, these lepers in the White House are still content to point the finger and place blame elsewhere, and not accept any fault on their part at all, and all of us know better. And its a plain shame that the media, is totally left wing biased, and they give them a free pass, instead of reporting things as they are. Its a shame.
Crib What state are you in. Come to Texas.
Cribster Cribster, Cribster…
? Seriously, you can’t be that naive…The ‘economy bombs’ W laid over 8 years were lit with the fuse that was the housing bubble…That bubble BEGAN to burst in Aug/Sept. of 07 guy, Obama had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! no matter how much you clearly/delusionaly wish other wise…
The damage W (and his father’s New World Order plan) DELIBERATELY planted are still unwinding and will continue to until A)the American consumer regains some degree of disposable income and the confidence to spend it and B)REGULATIONS on the GAMES Wall Street/CORP. AMERICA PLAYS are RESTORED – namely GLASS STEAGLE (sp?) and others…
What makes you think Obama doesn’t have blood on his hands? he voted for Bush’s bail out 2-months before he was elected. he’s just following Bush’s agenda. he’s tripled the size of the war (this war has lasted 2 times the length of WW2), he’s lied and gone back on most of his campaign promises. theres equal blame here, democrat and republican. I don’t think either party represents the will of the people. so what has our leaders put up for collateral to China for the debt we owe them? our land? we should be very worried about communist red China. and China will call in our debt.
Ignorance is bliss.
Con at birth,
Amen very aptly said!!!!
Not a very honest artical… This artical is slanted to give the impression that the debt to China is due to President Obama…the majority of the debt is due to Republicans , especially George W.Bush….this artical just accuses President Obama of trying to keep good relations with China…. A no brained…why shouldn’t we try and keep good relations with a country that rightwing Neo Cons put us in debt with…but that’s what Neo cons do… They screw things up then Blame the guy to fix their mess..
I did not read the article as assigning blame on anyone. It is merely a sign of the condition we find ourselves in with China. The assumption here is that some impending doom is around the corner. While concerning (if true) I doubt China is going to trash the US since we are its largest outlet mall. Forget the blame issue and try to figure out if this is real and how it impacts America.
Everything on this site is slanted to make it appear as though Obama and Democrats caused all the problems. However if you read between the blame Obama lines there is truth here. China is a problem and we now need them to keep going.
I cannnot refute the fact that Bush put us in a large amount of debt. What I don’t understand is how are people ignoring the fact that the usuper in chief has spent more money in ONE year than ALL the presidents in history put together. (Don’t take my word for it, look it up)He is expanding the wars he vowed to end. And who cares about China’s problem, they now own this country. What do you think they have as collateral? You need to wake up.
63Patriot,
China only owns this country if we the people let them own it! We need to demand that our politicians start listening to us or lose their job on the next election. the place to start sending this message is in November!!!
Shortly after Obama assumed office (and I do mean ASSUMED), Hillary traveled to China to make a deal. She gave away eminent domain rights in California to the Chinese. And they have been buying up land, homes and businesses here to an alarming degree.
here we go again
I suggest you look it up instead of believing the rhetoric:

04/26/2010 Intragovernmental Holdings – 4,525,551,552,891.34
JeffH, we can always count on you do dig up the facts.
Good job.
The number you skipped are: GWB 2008
01/15/2008 9,194,165,780,462.91
01/15/2009 10,627,708,753,691.49
1.5 Trillion for 2008
yup Obama has spent 2.2 trillion since elected or 1.6 trillion till year end 2009. WAY TOO MUCH! But he inherited a 1.5 trillion deficit and a crumbling economy. Only a small portion of his stimulus money has been spent, but compared to the EU, the US is getting better and better.
BBJ,
If you will read a little closer, you will see that JeffH DID put in 1/21/09! a matter of just a couple of days difference!!!
BBJ, excuse my accuracy. I was merely posting numbers from your link that I felt would be representative of the past and present administrations…when did Obama take over as president? 01/21/2009..then these numbers, 01/21/2009 – 10,625,053,544,309.79, would reflect the starting point of the Obama administration. Correct me if I am wrong, please.
One of the few bipartisan things that have been accomplished is the decay of the American way. Democrats and Republicans share this one. Actually the American people share it with our desire for self fulfillment and entitlement. The “all about us and what we want” mentality has come back to get us and what the future will hold for us is not pretty as a result. If we would have been alot less greedy and alot more giving we would not be in this position. Our insatiable desire to own things and have things of pleasure will haunt us in the future.
Plenty of blame to go around. They(politicians)have been at this game through several administrations. Obama has just taken the spending and debt to new levels. Bailouts, buying up companies, healthcare, and he’s only been in office for a little over a year!
Reagan increased the national debt by 300%
GH Bush increased the national debt by 20%
GW Bush increased the national debt by 200%
for a total of 520% divided by the number of terms (5)- gives a total of 104% – The last three republican presidents increased the national debt by 104% PER TERM.
I would argue Obama is simply spending like a republican…….
No matter how much anyone spent in the past, There is no comparison to Bo’s spending. None. He tops the charts. The “Bail-Outs” are non-sense. They didn’t do any good whatsoever except to get us further in debt. We need to throw out the “FEDERAL RESERVE” and stop borrowing money we can’t afford to pay back! That’s what’s killing America. The Founding Fathers would be so shocked at us for what we have done to their country. Their Dream! (NO matter what party has done it. All parties have contributed to it. So no one can claim innocence.) Sadly, Their Dream has turned into a nightmare. It doesn’t make sense to spend your way out of debt! Can’t be done.
Numbers are funny thing…
IF O spends 1.6 trillion per year, which is what year 1 was. Then in 4 years he spends 6.4 trillion. This increases the national debt by just over 50%. Just looking at percentages of national debt, he is spending half as much as Bush did…..
PLEASE CHECK IT OUT
http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/BPDLogin?application=np
BBJ,
that’s a big IF!!!!
BBJ, and you look at this as justification?
Kate I am a fiscal conservative, I can not justify spending of this magnitude by anyone. The difference between me and you, is that as soon a Bush started running the national debt up – I started squawking and working for the Libertarian party.
You were not even aware of the national debt until conservatives tried to pin the blame on Obama.
How is it that you assume you know what I was, or wasn’t, aware of? The fact is, I was one of many conservatives who was sounding alarm at the reckless spending of GWB. Unlike the see-no-evil attitude the left has toward their politicians, many conservatives strongly object when “theirs” step out of line, as seems to be the majority of them.
Bush lost the support of many of us during his term. I never did get the “compassionate conservatism” bit. That was already a red flag about his leftward leanings, and he was viewed with skepticism by many of us on the right. But there was really no alternative, was there?
I think we’ve seen that neither side has the nation’s well being in mind with what has been happening for decades. Even Ron Paul raises questions, as he is a freemason along with the rest of them, which makes them all brothers. So, what now?
Kate , I agree no one has represented the American people for a long time. I “was” a Libertarian just like I “was” a republican.
I am an anomaly, I am a fiscal conservative but do not believe an unregulated market is always the best way to go. We need regulations, the S&L crisis, The Enron loophole/crisis and the banking crisis all prove that, at least IMO.
I do not believe in rhetoric – period! Which is why I tick a lot people off, I check things out to my own satisfaction.
I do believe we need health care reform. I have not read the whole bill, but the parts I have read, make sense and “might” save money. A lot of the parts that get all of the negative publicity, you really have to read into and twist the meaning, to read those negatives into it. Which leads me to believe all the negatives are rhetoric for political gain.
How can someone claiming to have libertarian leanings approve of this healthcare bill, which completely takes away our right to choose our own healthcare? This is being FORCED on us by those who have an agenda, and it’s not our health. In any case, it is a big loss of freedom to which the majority of American people loudly voiced their opposition.
Libertarian’s are supposed to be about freedome to choose, individual rights and liberty. Your comments do not add up.
I agree with your frustration BBJ; however, I completely disagree with your endorsement for more government regulation for business. Our economy is based on GREED. There is no way to candy-coat it…people make money because they want it. What they do with it is their business. No human being can stop human behavior and successful business people are not always the church going responsible kind. Where does regulation end…think it through. If people need protection from one another then I suggest instead that the government serve the people through education and public resources to identify hazards in the work place.
To use a simple analogy consider driving. In the proposed regulatory scenario, the car is ultimately a fully government controlled vehicle in which you are a passenger. You don’t need to know how to operate, maintain, or touch any on the car. Once in the car you no longer make choices on how fast, when to stop, change direction, etc. From a historical perspective (and the direction many want to continue), the car is a vehicle of freedom. Many spend their time working on more than the interior. Many use their vehicles to “escape” and just…go! It is dangerous though and you could blow a tire on a pothole, hit a deer, fall asleep and run off, drunk drivers, etc.
Bottom line is life=risk and while it is a shame that death happens, it is not the government’s job to prevent it. Instead of accepting a paralyzing fear and asking someone else to drive, we all learn to identify hazards. Through education, information, and communication we learn and stay informed of any new hazards.
Chaos, the word is “Article,” not “Artical.” Admittedly, a minor annoyance, but an annoyance, nonetheless.
JLC, we generally accept that not everyone here is a Rhodes Scholar, thustly, we accept that there is the occasional mispelling or the occasional error in key punching. No one is perfect and no one should be held accountable for grammar errors. If that doesn’t agree with you, maybe you should try to find a more suitable website.
I’m in no way trying to scold you, but that is the general understanding of all of the posters, no matter how irritating it might be. Right, middle, left, Democrat or Republican.
Thank you, Jeff. English is not my “milk language.” It is one that I had to learn to speak and mispelled words sometimes make understanding more difficult. I punch wrong buttons, from time to time, and I appreciate it when an error has been called to my attention.
JeffH
At least most of them accept it!
JLC, not a problem. If every mispelled word were pointed out, most of the comments posted would be about spelling and grammar.
JeffH — I see your point. This is an afterthought. There are times when spelling can be critical. In Spanish, for example, “un año” is “a year.” “Un ano” is an “an anus”. I’m sure that there are similar pairs in English, in which a mispelling could be embarrassing. I can’t think of one, offhand, but do you see my point?
Funny. With all the brutality, hostility and name-calling going on here every day, spelling is the thing that is off-limits. Seems to me that’s one of the kinder remarks. LOL.
kate8 – Perhaps it means they can’t control themselves to say anything nice so they resort to something not quite as mean (usually as mean) -
JLC, no offense meant, but if everything was written in spanish yes, but not being fluent in spanish and this being an American “english written” website, it becomes a moot point. We still live in a free society, and it is your choice to do and say what you believe is important. As you can see, we all think what we say is important. It’s all in the eyes of the beholder.
JeffH — No offense taken!
Chaos,
I’m not either a Lib or a Con, and I understood the article as Obama kissing ass to fund his Big Fascist Government policies, before the masses wake-up and are enslaved. Chaos, tell me why people use the blame game on a Left/Right paradigm, when both parties are clearly traitors to our country. Oh wait, Divide and Conquer! It seems as though our government is still on the British teet.
Not true. Obama has grown the debt more in his first 8 months than the Bush admin did in 8 years. check your facts.
CHAOS FACTOR…
I believe you are really in chaos. Mr. Myers’ article is outstanding and factual.
You missed many of his points. Obama and the Majority are kissing up to China, while we are getting more and more into debt. Our mistakes are assisting China to become THE SUPER POWER.
We need to STOP SPENDING, PAY OFF CHINA, MAKE GOODS IN THE UNITED STATES TO GIVE AMERICANS JOBS, and STOP IMPORTING PRODUCTS FROM CHINA so that China becomes less important.
Delores Smith
Delores@cox.net
Way to call it, Delores!
Tariff all imports! A win win situation!
One of our biggest mistakes was allowing China to buy American real estate as in businesses in New york and other big cities back in the late ’70s and early ’80s. That’s what got their foot in the door as far as learning how to make money and become a world power in the world of commerce. That never should have been allowed. But it happened so here we are now and no matter what the situation in the world is NO SITTING PRESIDENT of these United States of America has the right or should not even think of bowing and kowtowing to any of those countries ESPECIALLY China! Obama owes our country and all Americans an apology for that a very public one at that! And he and the rest of his bunch should be made to pay restitution for getting our country even deeper into a hole that we could have gotten out of until he came along and started spending money like it was water. One day we may get our pound of flesh yet!
Barb I don’t think there is any one point where “it all went wrong”. China is a large nation and it was inevitable that they would grow not just in numbers but in economic strength to become a world market factor. Soon they might own it. The question is for how long? Does it really matter anyway? I believe it is fear that drives this article and all like it because i seriously doubt China is going to invade America or cause some social collapse to try and enslave us. That would be like removing your own lung. I suggest we take a collective deep breath, stop looking at this as an impending meteor impact and determine how we can reform America toward a stronger independent condition with more economic stability. Start with power, food, controlled spending, border security, reduced world military action and a few other key economic factors and I’m sure we can hammer this one out.
Right…we can start with regulating Wallstreet…I won’t even go into who was that Deregulated Wallstreet … We can also let the cuts for the very rich expire in 2011.. We cant give tax cuts to the billionaires and fight wars at the sametime….. All that sand in Iraq and Afghanistan has taken a toll… So the military needs some rebuilding… It’s gonna cost … Once we get back on track.. We have to cut the spending…. It’s insane to even think that it’s not going to take some sacrifices to rebuild this countrys economy….you complaining that Obamas is spending are way off base… The economy isn’t going to fix itself … It’s going to take spending to fix alls that’s broke…. A nasty thought , but it’s reality….and the tax cuts to companys that ship jobs off to China and India… That’s gotta stop
Agreed. However, little has gone to small business, as it was intended. Instead of bailing out consumer credit card debt, we should be retraining or sending the unemployed back to school. That wouldn’t help, though. Because, there are no new jobs!
I can’t say I disagree but my concern here is that we face the same shot-in-the-arm stimulus scenario that has played out in several countries. The stimulus has a short term effect and then the government assumes responsibility to push the debt up further until the engine is running on all six cylinders. Old school thought is to let the big dogs that went lame limp off for the vultures. I mean it is a harsh world but we cannot afford to grunt under the burden of oversized and dependent big businesses. How is it that business become too big to fail? Whatever, I like many “rightys” just don’t want big government assuming responsibility to tell me when to _______(fill in the blank). It sends a message loud and clear that our freedoms are up for sale.
Try telling “it’s going to take spending to fix what’s broke” to a bank when you need a business loan.
Also, most of Obama’s financial strategy is designed to support unions. Liberals always think of small business as a doormat.
Allan I understand frustration but this is apples to grapes. The government IS the bank and they are spending to save their butts. I agree they don’t care when Joe walks in asking for a loan to pay the utilities, but this is the BANK experiencing the same thing and they have ASSUMED the American people would rather the BANK go into huge debt to China than tell We the People that the BANK is…uh…experiencing some serious problems.
I believe the BANK should not have tried to use public funds to protect the largest hogs that were under attack by market forces. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. (that was a period for emphasis)
If government would stop demonizing big business, as many of you also seem to like to do, and stop unfairly taxing the living hell out of them, just maybe they would stop moving to China and Mexico and India, and just maybe more jobs could be created here. But no big business is going to want to stay when they are unfairly demonized and taxed to death for being successful. What, do you want all business to be like GM, and the let the unions sink them into bankruptcy, so that the goverment can give them billions of our dollars so that they can all live the high life? Come on allready. It seems the left loves to demonize big business and so do their followers, and yet they back the biggest of all, GM and Chrysler, and give them billions of our tax dollars, and none of you have a problem with that, or see the hippocracy in this? Give me a break.
Taxation only contributes to the real reason big business leaves. The greatest operating cost is labor. With Unions comes greater reduction in the bottom line and since corporations are profit driven they will look for any opportunity to make more. When organized labor goes beyond fair representation of the workers and deeper into the profits, you get companies that go away.
The current administration…Pelosi…made good to the Unions by buying into the big auto companies (ie UAW). If we had let them fall to market forces then the auto makers could have reorganized and ejected the union contracts.
Give up with the deregulation bull, American Liberal. It will be a cold day in hell before government quits regulating anything. And that is true for both Republicans and Democrats:
http://reason.org/news/printer/the-myth-of-financial-deregula
As usual, the American Liberal is practicing the politics of envy. If he can’t push himself up, then he wants to drag others down. The rich already pay far more than their fair share. The top 1% of income earners pay 40% of the income taxes. That’s their fair share?
http://www.ntu.org/tax-basics/who-pays-income-taxes.html
Why don’t you Liberals go after the multi-millionaire Liberal entertainers? Their hearts supposedly bleed as your’s does, so hit them up to put their money where their mouths are. The rich Liberals don’t have to wait for Government to tax them, they can donate the lion’s share of their easy money any time they please.
And I agree with you, American Liberal, “It’s insane to even think that it’s not going to take some sacrifices to rebuild this countrys economy”. Like how about sacrificing your leisure time, and your partying time, and whatever else keeps you Liberals from making something of yourselves?
Quit trying to force others to carry your lazy butts on their shoulders.
It’s amusing to me that you honestly think a country can spend itself into prosperity. If that was the case, any ignorant country could have a dynamic economy. And Obama isn’t spending that money constructively anyway (Government rarely does), he is just using it to buy votes.
To the point, DaveH! They’re using plays right out of the Socialist handbook. Government jobs are rarely, if ever, profitable, except for the few…the mickey fickey mix! These goons are 100% red shirts!
I agree 100% but we have to start by getting rid of the sitting regime. That isn’t going to be easy but as you said we’ll hammer it out! Thanks for the common sense knock on my head, I took a breath! Still want the apology one day though!
Just so everyone is clear on this, I agree with Right Wing, not this guy above me!
So true Barb! Well Stated!
Not just China, but all non americans, look at the motel chains.
Oh Barb, Barb…
Seriously, it always strikes me that YOU people weren’t complaining when W was turning a surplus into a deficit…
W and company created and left behind a pile of crap for the next person to clean up. Obama and company had to staunch the bleeding and thanks to W and the economy bombs he laid – much like those planted by his New World Order father – and in spite of the road to the deficit paved with upper 1% tax cuts, the govt. was the only one left standing after they – Wall Street Repubs – all Maddoff with the money…
The well is running dry, it’s time to put the dollar back on the gold standard. It will make a difference
Almost 4 decades of Reganomics is what has ruined this countrys economy…Reagans 2 terms and W’s 2 terms….. The proofs in the results….
Reagen bailed out Peanut Carter’s mess
Plus he ended the cold war. We have got to stop being the world’s policeman, though. It’s time to close some of those overseas bases and let those countries, especially Europe, fend for themselves. Maybe they’ll miss us.
American Citizen no!!! Please the world cannot afford to NOT have America as the “world policeman”.
Imagine the chaos, it will only make the world even more dangerous then it is. An isolationist America is not the answer.
You are so misinformed. Reagan was the best thing economically that ever happened to this country. He had it on the right course, the most properous times ever, and Bill Clinton and his cronies rode it for 6 years, then rode it right into the ground. But then again, your not interested in the truth are you?
Just rebuilding after LBJ’s Vietnam war and the peanut man’s folly
All I see from the left is blame. Everything is Bush’s fault. He even accepted blame for Katrina. That was the end of that argument so lets just all just accept that Bush was to blame for everything. Now what? What do you libs think about the article? Lets see some articulated thought here because I am truly interested in the thoughts of all Americans. Personally i do not believe there is anything to be alarmed about concerning China. China has grown so explosively that they will have their own myriad of problems ranging from civil to environmental problems. They need our economy to succeed and they gain nothing by causing a market collapse. It is their greed and corruption this time that masks our own and we will see what fares for this socialist country. A good article for a some history on China is here: http://www.ignca.nic.in/ks_41032.htm
Under the section, “Actual Economic Surplus and Its Contribution to Investment” see paragraphs 5&6 for a surprising parallel to our own current reform and stimulus situation.
Okay so Reagan is also to blame for the trouble we are in. Assume he accepts the blame. What now?
Reagan to blame? Gimme a break, how about congress? And if you want to blame any particular president, how about LBJ? That’s in my lifetime . . . Paul
Right Wing is playing devils advocate paul. He’s baiting the lib’s to come up with answers…of course they have none.
Yes, LBJ got us into Vietnam. But the left doesn’t want to own that. Nixon brought the troops home. Clinton sent troops into Bosnia WITHOUT approval of Congress or the UN. No one said a peep, I noticed. Bush sent them to war WITH APPROVAL from both, and he’s the only bad guy? Now the liberal media is keeping the lid on the death toll in the 2 current wars–which Bo promised to withdraw from & has not withdrawn from–unlike when Bush was Prez and the death toll was blabbed far and wide. The minute Bo stepped up to the plate, it was all hushed up. No daily body count anymore. War? What war? Bias? what bias?
The downfall all started with FDR, and we are still paying for his tactics and illegal doings today. Any of you pay federal income tax? Thanks FDR, for this “voluntary” tax. And if I dont “voluntarily” pay it, why do I go to jail? Yes folks, it all started with this guy, FDR.
The left will not put up an intelligent argument in any of these forums. When they can’t make a point they resort to blame and teasing comments about grammatical errors in previous posts.
Just for the sake of argument, lets assume that I’m a southpaw…
Let me start off by saying that this whole “left – right” paradigm
is analogous to the crips and the bloods. It makes less sense than those idiots who run around wearing “Red” – “Blue” rags (sound familiar?) and strutting back and forth with their “pants on the ground.” The dire straits that the US finds itself in is the result of a progression. I understand why the Blue rags revel in the disparagement of the President. Much of the vitriol is due to cultural conditioning and the inability to focus their outrage past any target thats not directly in the line of sight. I won’t go into the entirety of the progression I mentioned earlier, but I will start with Clinton, I remember the cozy arrangement he established with China in regards to some of our military technology and the real estate deal he cut with them regarding the port in Long Beach, CA.
I also point to his covert evisceration of Habeus Corpus in ’96.
Some say that theres still cocaine dust on the runway in Mena, Arkansas from the time Clinton and Daddy Bush were importing bricks of dope into the US. (Remember Iran-Contra?) The financial deregulation reforms that were put in place during the Reagan regime. were fortified (incremetally) by Clinton, laying the groundwork for the financial conundrum we find ourselves in today.
Daddy Bush (Magog) with his “New World Order” mantra sought to further establish the Elitists world view of “Empire” by the Desert Storm scenario.
Bush II (via the Chinese and Japanese) borrowed the US into oblivion,
and fostered legislation that allowed the Goldman Sachs band of gypsies to vertically integrate the flow of money to the upper 1 per cent of the population. The rest of his sins are legion and don’t need to be enumerated here.
Which brings us to Obama… The new pitchman for the Elitists and their plan to denude the Republic. I imagine that you know that this One World Order can’t come into being while a strong and financially solvent America still exists. His sins (both present and future) are legion also. I find it sad that these so-called “astute” conservatives can’t get past their rock throwing and attack the real source of the cancer that eats at the Republic. I guess that after they’re thrown in the Fema camps, the folly of their ways will finnally become self evident.
Well put, DR.
Dr. Mabuse, you speak the truth.
While I do know some conservatives who see through the smokescreen of this front government two-party system, and some libertarians, it appears to me that the left is so entrenched with their idiology, and so loyal to their puppetmasters, that they can’t help but do their bidding. Their minds have been so thoroughly indoctrinated that they are immune to facts.
Aside from that, and in spite of the partisan rhetoric, I do think many more people are starting to get it. I think that they just don’t know where to turn to be effective, since the whole system is designed to keep them from gaining traction.
kate8, you’re correct…we’re seeing comments about Soros and the OWO more and more…keep providing the links and the comments and even more people will take the “next step” into the “twilight zone” of the One World Order.
I agree. If they want to stand on their little soap box and play blame Bush, Bush, Bush, ok, Ill play along. So now we all say its Bush’s fault,(just to appease them). So now knowing this lefties, what are you going to do about it? Im not seeing anything, other than a bunch of finger pointing, the same finger pointing that got you elected. But finger pointing is not helping anyone, anywhere, at anytime. Put up or shut up. Show us what youve got. Give GM and Chrysler a billion dollar reward for not running their business properly, does not impress me. Give Joe Crackhead free insurance because he refused to work, and make me pay for it, does not impress me. Expanding welfare, food stamps, and other social programs to take money from me and give it to those who are too lazy to work, does not impress me. Show us something please, besides taking from the middle class working man like myself, and beside’s punishing successful business’s. Do something, and quit pointing your fingers.
Right Wing, the problem dates back AT LEAST as far as the Roosevelt administration (FDR, not TR). He is the one that practically made a religion of spending money that the country didn’t have. He is also the one who took us off the gold standard. That is as far back as I can clearly remember. Earlier than that (Hoover and Coolidge administrations) things are fuzzy — I was too busy worrying about what the other kids on the Reservation were doing. The relevant point is that the current Great, Grand, Glorious and Exalted Whatever, in less than a year and a half, has added more to the long-term national debt than did the previous 15 administrations combined. One trillion dollars is one million times one million dollars.
Right on, blame him for everything he has big shoulders and don’t give a c— about the lefties blaming him. sure he made mistakes but then who doesn’t? The blind just see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear and don’t care about truth
A picture is worth a thousand words…..

I don’t know how anyone can disagree with ” Karma”…for you bible thumpers it’s
” You Reap what you Sow”… And.. ” for every action theirs a reaction”.. …. We’ve let this happen to this country…. Do we deserve this…..?…….. Yes.
Okay so we did this to ourselves but what do we do to get out of it? I admit i have seen some pretty childish threads here but the reality is that WE that are hear are in the same boat. I think it is funny and sad to see the varied ideologies shooting holes in the floor. I’m guilty for my part because sometimes a good argument just makes you feel better. I still hope to see that aside from the banter that there could be some consensus on where to go from here. Call it an olive branch, call it whatever you want…but without some common ground we will never see where we want to go. I read a Dr. Seuss book to my daughter last night…the one about the Sneetches. What a revealing story of how similar and different we all are. But in the end it doesn’t really matter. Now I have to go because she wants to play…
You’re right, we’re all in the same boat. Some are rowing on the left going backwards into the mailstrom,(sp) some are rowing on the right wanting to go forwards to calmer waters. Which side are you on?
I have to say that moving forward is always on my mind but guided by lessons from the past. I like many here are completely disenfranchised with the two party political machine that “represents” Americans. I am not talking shallow water here either. Forget about placing blame on the president…he is only a figurehead in reality. The problems rest in members of government who carry a warped sense of need for greed and power to the office. It is a service for all of us and noble duty (like the guards at the unknown soldier memorial). Who wants to think that anyone gets into the nursing home business to make big fat cash? Yet when we expose such people they go down. The problem is that government hyenas gain fat cash AND power. You can’t blame the rich for the problem because the government hyenas are working for them (ie corruption). Personally I believe the only way to affect any change in this chain is to weaken the middle link between power and government. The American people are their own watchdogs and We the People should have the right to demand investigation and to exercise a collective decision to replace politicians if wrong-doing is discovered.
We also believe in repentance and redemption. You choose a better path.
We are all to blame. We wanted cheap products and ignored the American worker and quality. If back 30 years or so ago we Americans would have said NO, we’re buying the Chinese junk, maybe manufactures would have keep factories here. But we bought their junk because it was cheap. We didn’t care that itr was made with slave labor we bought it. The manufactures were able to make a lot of momey off of Chinese products because it would cost them pennies to manufacture and they would charge us just a little less than the same item made here. We can only blame ourselves now. We wanted cheap. We said goodby to the American worker. Now China is a super power and Americans can’t figure out why we don’t have jobs. BUY AMERICAN whenever you can.
Mikey…true… Buy American as much as possible…Chinese circut boards might be cheaper but their also junk …their is very little quality control in China…I won’t go onto my ” China would benifit from unions ” speech..
The bigger problem is, American companies send manufacturing to China and the next thing you know, a new plant springs up next door making the same exact product but with no name on it…
BBJ,
No, the problem is the companies themselves going to China. Like Milwaukee Tools. They were bought by the Chinese name and all. now they have a million square foot plant producing the tools for slave wages then they send them back to the U.S. under the same name and uninformed people buy them at the SAME price they were when they were made here and the Chinese make a killing on them!! I stopped a guy from buying a sawsall the other day when I told him about this!!
Joe what can you do? I have always bought Craftsman tools because of the warranty and Sears being an American Icon. Their tools are now made in China!
BBJ,
For twenty years I bought nothing but craftsman tools, till I found out they were making them in China. now I buy snap on or other U.S made tools. the only problem is, they are getting real scarce. when it gets to where you can’t buy american made, I’ll buy only those tools that are made in non-slave wage countries!!
All this about slave wages, yet I’ve never heard of any Chinese complain of their wages, just the opposite. They are having it better than anytime in the 20th century untill today. They also have more, from the poorest to the richest (more new millionaires in China the last ten years than anywhere else in the world) than they ever had. The general public there has more automobiles, more appliances, and more excess funds to spend at their leisure than ever before. The Chinese are as happy as larks, because what comes with all this is more freedom also, sorta like this country use to be. I wonder what it is they are doing right and we’re doing wrong? Guess we’d better stop whining and crying in our beer and figure it out, but I don’t think we can do this by by proclaiming that we derve more than they have, because they’re working happily for what they have, while we just keep on tearing down those who can provide us with what we need and driving them over-seas by demanding from them what we’re entitled to. If you think the American worker is entitled to so much, then start up a company, make a product to be sold, and give the American worker what he demands and we’ll see how well you do. All who have done this in the past have learned many lessons and have left for China and other countries where they can do what they want with what they own without someone they provide a living for telling them what they are allowed to keep for themselves and what they must share with the ones they provide a living.
American Liberal — if there is such a thing — take a look at the guts of your computer and see where the boards were made. If you bought it off the shelf, odds are that they came from overseas. I KNOW what went into mine. I built it from scratch.
It was the DOLLAR that got cheap!
Everything slid down hill when Wilson allowed the Federal Reserve. The dollar is only worth a nickle of what it was then.
When I was first married, 53 years ago, when the dollar was worth 100 cents, I could buy a brown paper bag of groceries, including meat, for about $5-$7 dollars. Now, due to the dollar being worth about 25 cents or less, it costs at least $25 for the same amount of groceries, not including meat.
Another anti Walmart speech that doesn’t address the real problem: Why are many products non-competitive? It’s not just the price of labor elsewhere. What did it take for General Motors to finally “get Jesus” and make cars people wanted, even if they are lying about having paid back their loan?
You are right,BUT .. the main cause is the oppressive, draconian, constitution stomping, buisness crushing IRS.If the IRS did not penalize buisness for being successful by consistently taxing more and more of the profits and expansion, the USA would still be the worlds leader in manufacturing. The IRS also makes it convenient to do buisness offshore by offering tax incentives to the larger corporations.get rid of the useless IRS and yput in place the FAIR TAX,you will see buisness rush to the USA and the hell with China who is our next major adveserial superpower who wishes to destroy us as a nation.
Colonel Skee,
I’m with you on the Fair Tax -vs- IRS. Thanks for your comment!
Fed Up Gal
What you say is true about China. But, what has caused our manufacturing to leave is. Our Federal Government’s over taxation, regulation and labor unions constant over demands regardless of company s solvency. Yes, We did allow it happen but not how you say. Our company’s could have competed with anyone in the world if the government had let the free market”s work and stayed out of it. But, they keep raping the golden goose until it moves or dies.
Ernest T,
Good post!
Fed Up Gal
Please stop using the word we when talking about us desiring cheaper products. No American wanted NAFTA and certainly not a trade deal with communist China. Unfortunately, we have a pupet government that is hell bent on lowering the standard of living in the U.S. to that of the 3rd world. This is where the problem was created in the U.S.
Why are Americans so ignorant? You let George W. Bush and his “crew” allow 9/11 to happen, invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, commit war crimes in your name, increase the size of government, increase the national debt, and take away many of your rights under the guise of “National Security”. All through the 8 years of decline and erosion you remained silent. Now you have a President in office that is trying to reverse the damage done by George W. Bush and the Conservative Republicans and your response is to go to the streets in protest. “Oh Say Can You See?”
Sorry Andrew, but your own comments speak for your apparent own ignorance. You assume that when posters comment on the government … they are always only speaking about your Messiah (Obama).
While it is my personal belief that Obama is doing nothing to improve things, and is one of the most opaque U.S. Presidents in modern history…when I read others’ posts….mostly what I hear them say is…they are sick of government (that includes the Executive AND Legislative branches of government….AND more times than not their own state governments…AND for the most part…both sides of the party line).
I encourage you to read the posts more closely and you may find yourself agreeing with a point here and there.
With respect to the opening statements in the article, 30+ years ago, Americans DID speak out against trading with China; then, as now, the administration and corporate America refused to hear the people. Among the reasons Americans protested was the slave labor, lack of quality products, and the fact that China was neither friend nor ally. If you want to write an article that blames the American public for the present economic circumstances, then I suggest you get your facts straight and be able to back them up. There still are, quite the contrary to popular belief, enough of us Senior citizes still around to challenge your statements. The real economic problems began with the administration of Wilson and things have become progressively worse. All administrations and congresses from Wilson to the current one are to blame because they have ignored the wishes of the people. I am sick and tired of blaming the American public for the problems we are now facing–and the current administration’s efforts to make Obama the last elected President, but our first tyrannical dictator.
It seems that buying American is harder these days except for groceries & whatever.
I worked part time in an auto parts supply store.I could not believe it when I started looking at all the items with made in China on them. Not just automotive replacement parts but tools, accessories, and other equipment. It was honestly over 90% Chinese or Asian made. And people had to constantly keep coming back in to re do what they just repaired because of the cheaply made, weak parts. We have sold our soul to the cheap dollar. Now,unfortunately, even if you do want to buy American, you will find it almost impossible to acquire.
God help us if another world war breaks out and we have to manufacture our own wartime goods. We will not have the capacity or raw material to do so.
I can remember when I liked Wal Mart because they advertised selling American made goods. Then Sam died and Wal Mart is now Chinatown.
In the event that we become a “manufacturer” nation again, I will buy American. There are so few product to purchase NOT made in America, that we have little choice. I do care for and seek American made labels. Alas, they are too few.
In response to mikey:
No, we are NOT all to blame. It hasn’t been 30 years either. There was a time (maybe 10-15 years ago) when we as American consumers still had a choice between buying Chinese-made junk, or buying American. I, for one, chose the American made products. Do you remember Wal-Mart touting “buy American”?? Well, no longer. The consumer no longer has a choice. Chinese goods are everywhere. In every store. Where can we go to find quality, home-made furniture, kitchen wares, tools, office supplies, you name it???? I blame our government for allowing (encouraging?) this to happen.
Biggest mistake made was not putting tarrifs on goods imported.
This put China in the position it is today. When manufacturers moved to foreign countries to avoid the environmental and labor restrictions here and then let them bring the products back to this country and not charge tarrifs on them and giving them additional profits is another cause. With the redused expenditure in the foreign countries, creates a greater profit for them and the goods are sold as if they were produced here. If one cause has to be made, it is the Unions putting in their demands driving prices up here and not being able to compete with the Foreign products
There is no such thing as a free lunch, someone pays. Supply for less is competitive advantage, says the economist, and insures market dominance. The (Chinese) domestic economy will grow, wages will rise, and stardard of living improve. Them’s that’s got gets more. Now is time to pay the piper for American prolifigacy. We bought on the deferred purchase plan, ie credit, now we pay either with depressed living standard or working more for less. Time to cut expenses and Federal Government is the biggest spender. Read “How An Economy Grows and Why It Crashes” by Schiff. No time for tears and regret, get to work. And vote a non-nanny State Congress in November!
I agree but when union wages (back in the day) have to be paid for by a skilled electricians wages (non-union)which is so unequal, it makes it difficult not to go for the cheaper price. I make it sound as if our government had it planned that way. Imagine that!
very true,& walmart was the largest retailer to import from china
mikey,
To the extent that Americans wanted to buy cheap, I agree with. But I think the cause is much deeper than that. US pricing got out of hand when the unions started getting greedy. When unions first organized, it was a good thing because it stopped US businesses from doing the same thing China has been doing concerning the labor force. Unfortunately, they realized the power they began to yeild and became greedy. I had a friend who swept floors in the steel mills in Pittsburgh making $18 per hour in ’78′. Point is, US companies continued to raise retail prices to pay for overpaid union wage demands. In the 70′s & early 80′s we have bad presidents, companies that were being run out of the country by unions and taxes (and it continues today)and China steps in and offers things this country wouldn’t (not couldn’t) do. American people will buy at what they consider a value (except for teens. lol!) US businesses priced themselves out of the value equation a long time ago.
Start blaming the greedy manufacturer who dos not care that he employs cheep and child labor, then go to the unions who get rich by demanding such high wages and cause strikes which serves no one.I think it is time we got rid of the unions and demand that our government not allow products made by american company’s overseas to be sold here in the US.
I’d say Mikey is on the right track but looking back sometimes has nothing to do with reality. Our political leaders at this stage need to “man-up” and put into play fair practices that give our manufacturing base a level playing field. I’m refering to tax incentives (even periods of tax free status) to any manufacturing that brings back jobs from off-shore. Restrictions on any country that has a policy of anti-unionism (and I am not particularly prounion but fair is fair and our unions are not going away). Tariffs on goods made in any country that employs child, slave, or prison labor. You get the idea. It is not protectionism, its pragmatism in the face of mass labor pools and unfair labor practices.
It is fore sure too late America. We enjoyed the great toys at a fraction of what we would have paid otherwise, and that drove production overseas.
Today, even with a middle-class wage most of us will not even if we had the choice, afford American-made” because it would be like leaving money on the table.
A man’s watch, for example, of excellent quality but not luxurious, may cost you $25 at most (I paid $10) if made overseas (China most probably). If one can still find a U.S.- made watch, it would be prohibitively expensive and for me to leave say $200 on he table so I can then say that it was “made in America” would be like saying that I will also buy a GM or Ford car even if it cannot last me 200,000 miles without braking my bank account, vs. buying a foreign-made car that at 350,000 miles is going strong and I will only get rid of it because it is looking a bit old, and not because it is sounding ‘old’ at all.
Answer? Is there one? I cannot afford now not to buy the cheapest and best quality in the market at WalMart, Costo, Target, Sears, Nordstrom, etc.; and of course the great foreign cars!
On another issue, can we spread the word to BOYCOTT Mexico, our own congressman is asking the “illegals” to boycott Arizona because of the newest and toughest Immigration Bill ever.
According to the Rasmussion Poll, it shows that 71% of Americans, approve of this issue. Spread the word to vacation in Arizona, please schedule your Conferences here, the weather is great and I was by the pool most of the weekend.
Arlington K,
As for me, I plan to boycott not only Mexico…but U.S. states that are standing in opposition to what Arizona is planning on doing. In fact, I plan to not vacation in my own state (NM)…because of our poor execuse for a Governor….what a JOKE!
One more thing, I’m not buying any more produce from Mexico or other countries that try to manipulate the U.S. into passing laws more favorable to their own (non-U.S.) citizens than that of our own citizens.
Mikey,
Blame both major political parties. Over 100 to 140 years ago, the Republicans enacted high import tarrif taxes in order to protect American industries, basically forcing the American people to buy less expensive American products. When Democrats were elected (most of the country was agriculturally oriented) the Democrats reduced these import taxes so that the common man could buy imported goods at a much low price than American manufactured goods. American industry would suffer and some workers would be laid off. When Republicans were re-elected they would reinstitute the high tarrifs. American industry would thrive (caring very little for the worker)and more workers were hired to work in the factories. At this time there was no federal income tax. The import taxes were used to fund the federal government.
In the past thirty years, one would have thought that both democrats and republicans would have seen the necessity for a high import tax. High import taxes would have saved American industry and the jobs of American workers. I believe that both major parties have done a great dis-service to America.
Even before there was a tea party I was fed up with both major parties. I am in my late 60′s, but have voted a third party protest in 9 out of 12 presidential elections. Twice I voted for one of the major political parties and one for the other party.
We, the American people, need to vote for a third party. In my opinion, neither major political party really cares about the people or the country.
Mikey,
I belive that you are correct to a certain degree about Americans wanting to buy cheap to make our money stretch. However, one of the main things that contributed to wanting to purchase things at a better price was manufacturing plants that had “union” workers which drove up the price of goods considerably and proof to that is the automobile industry. I’m all for a good days pay for a day of work but in most cases they were over paid for the quality of work they put out. Again the auto industry was and is a big example of this. I can also say that there has been products that I have purchased made in the United States besides an automobile that was not exactly solid construction. I don’t know what the answer is, but it would be nice to buy things of quality made in the United States again!!!
Thanks to our greedy as… elected officials this country has been on the down hill since we were buying the cheap ass junk from Japan it didnt jus start. our elected officials state and federal are all a bunch of thieves can you remember the Chicago stamp thief he was removed from office and sent to jail, how many complained when slick willie gave away our port in California to the Chinese?. writing letters like this to one anoyjer wont accomplihs anything-lets throw the whole damn bunch out of office and put some citizens in office being a lawyer dosnt qualify any one to represent me. they all become very wealthy in office jus look at there off shore accounts and tell me i am wrong.if you want names jus ask
i agree whole hearty with you. when vanity fair corporation shipped their sewing machine operations to mexico, city.they started their sewing machine operators one dollar for 12 hours work. slave labor!!!!
Don’t blame the American consumer, but put the blame on who it should go to, the American unions who caused the price of their products to go so high that it became cheaper to import the same product maunufactured on the came machinery all the way from China to the USA, and caused our entepreneurs to move their factories to many different countries to avoid unreasonable union demands here in order to be able to compete in the world market. A safe work-place with a liveable wage and decent working schedule and conditions is one thing, but all the rest were excessive and now they’re paying for it with no jobs, except at the foreign factories now built here and employ our people giving them just what I described was not a problem, but without all the other excesses and a promise by those foreign companies that if the workers unionize that they will close these factories and move them to a different country. These imported products are also highly taxed by tariffs but are still cheaper than the same thing that our union factories produce, I wonder why?
And in the coming attractions Obama and his Democratic cohorts are getting ready to raise taxes on the most wealthy that have the means and are capable intellectually to create factories and jobs so that there will be an even bigger migration of these people to foreign countries along with the jobs that they were providing and the jobs that they would have provided. Does killing the goose that lays the golden eggs mean anything to anyone? Probably not, but it will after the November elections, because no matter what you think this economy is doing, or may do in the future, the Democrats are doing everything they can to shore it up and get the public to believe the recession is over so they won’t take such a blood bath that is being projected in the November elections. After that, the eggs Obama and his Democratic cohorts have laid on us will hatch and those chickens will come home to roost and then you’ll find out just how bad that change Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi promised us really is.
Why did it take Bush only two quarters to come out of the recession he inherited from the Clinton administration and its going to be two years with Obama, with four years of a Congress(which controls the purse strings of the government)with both chambers controled by the Demacrats supporting everything he wants and we still won’t be out but going in deeper. How come when Bush became president he was blamed for all the jobs that were lost during those first two quarters and Clintons last two quarters, but when Obama became president they haven’t blamed him for a single job lost? And because no-one knows about the comparison is that when Bush was elected the media all came down on him because of job losses, but you don’t here a peep out of them about Obama’s losses, could this mean the media is anti-conservative and pro-liberal, nah, that wouldn’t be fair and balanced, would it?
Randy gets it, I will not reiterate it here but read his comment it is insightful and accurate.
If labor unions were not so greedy and corrupt maybe American business and manufacturing would still be strong. Union thug tactics put business in a hard place to compete. I agree I would rather buy American and tell China good by!
Hey Mikey,
I think you don’t realize that one of the few jobs our Federal Government is actually authorized to do, is to regulate Commerce.
Do you remember that Yellow Brick Road to China called NAFTA?
Also it is Retailers who benefitted from this, not manufactures.
Yes, we should blame ourselves for selling America made to China made,in the short run seems okey to save but the long term we are now paying the consequences, and relizing now that it has not helped us at all. Not manufacture left in America the few left have big competion with made in China.
We have made them rich they have a lots of cash to invest their economy has increased enourmously in the last 20 years, and America what has increased is debts with China that only interest we pay everyday is much more that America can afford but still growing indebtness with China.
God help this country, I am not American but still hurt to see what’s going on.
Margee,
Thank you, for your comments.
Mikey………..if the government and the big companies had told the labor unions to piss off, the china deal wouldn’t have happed. Let the free market run free of government regs and union bosses and we would be the great nation of yesteryear.
I believe most everyone now understands the disastrous results for buy cheap China “junk” !!!!!
I refuse to buy any of their “stuff” – I would rather keep the American people working and buy American when I can – but its not easy to find American made items.
Shoes and clothes from China DO NOT FIT properly – its very discus ting to say the least. We can blame our government for this whole mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry Mikey – wrong on your comment. 30 or so yrs ago we were buying gadgets from China but the big stuff came from Japan because it was BETTER. American companies blew off the VCR so Japan achieved huge success with it. My first laptop in early 70′s was a top-rated Toshiba. Harley Davidson was producing motorcycles that were out-of-date and leaked like a sieve. My Kawasaki had an inline overhead cam 4 cyl engine, disc brakes, and didn’t leak. More advanced engineering. Japanese cars were higher quality you could see in the fit and finish and came with more advanced engineering. Same with tv sets. People cut down on “buy American” because American manufacturers became lazy and produced shoddy products. CEOs were going to Japan to learn more efficient ways to run businesses. Blame the manufacturers not the American people.
HJK,
As ususal you people accuse your enemies of the very thing you are guilty of… George W. Bush did NOT end up with MILLIONS more in his campaign war chest going into the 04 election because Democrats have more money or wealthier donors
Mikey…Finally!…proof that you will eat, AND swallow anything…
As for Obama being the most corrupt…LOLOLOLOLOL EVERYONE in the country knows you just lied with that one…Any recall of Halliburtons shell game/ponzi schemes with no bid contracts issued to them by the W/Cheney White House, the shredding of the constitution;W Quote: “It’s just a goddamn piece of paper”, the throwing of innocent U.S. soldiers under the Taliban bus/into Iraq w/out adequate armor/weapons….and lastly but not least, Bush keeping himself busy during Katrina figuring out how to SET THE TIMERS ON HIS ECONOMY BOMBS so that they would detonate just as his and Cheney’s helicopters were taking off from the White House lawn on inauguration day…
Nice try mikey, but the rest of us aren’t as dumb as YOU, W, Karl Rove and your fellow Wall Street money whoring/string pulling/criminals thought we were
Truthman (Reallllllllllly??????)
Could you be any more rude and crude in your remarks? Granted, we all tend to get a little sarcastic in our posts from time to time…but is it really necessary to be so offensive in your choice of dialogue? If you can’t find a way to get your point across, without cursing God in your response, please find another website blog to invite yourself to.
‘Buy American’ is a great idea, but there is a snag. As you indicate, goods imported at giveaway prices represent a huge mark-up to wholesalers. Thus whenever US products are marketed, the wholesalers can undercut by increments until the only way that US goods can prevail is by cutting costs by reducing wages or quality, or both.
In pre-WW II days, cheap Japanese goods flooded the British market and a ‘Buy British ‘ campaign did little to stop the flood until the war put a stop to it. Nowadays – despite Toyota’s current problems – Japanese goods are of sound quality. Down the road, we can expect the same of Chinese and Indian goods. I have to admit that I have no answer to this riddle.
Very True, In Simple Shift of Wealth, which means dark future for the forthcomming generation
Mikey,
I was logging out and your post from April 29th, 7am? was on the front page re; cheap goods from China, shipping manufacturing over seas etc. This is the sort of post that redeemed you in my mind…anyway, just wanted to clarify
Some of the largest contributing factors to China’s economic rise are the absorbing of Hong Kong – which “infected” their communist country with a modicum of capitalism; and the one-two gut-punches of the hideously inflated tax rates on American corporations, combined with the kill-the-goose greed of the unions with their impossible demands, combined to make it an economic necessity for them to move manufacturing overseas where Chinese prison-slaves filled the void.
Bust the unions, cut ALL government taxes AND SPENDING 40%, and let’s all start taking our bites outta this sh*t sandwich that WE created….so that our kids and grandkids won’t have to eat it.
Get used to it.
Get over it.
Get on with it.
Its a matter of reality. This is a “one world” economy. Isolationism is not even possible. Our great country, the United States of America was its own source for its downfall. We gave peoples worldwide the vision of “living a comfortable” lifestyle. Instead of keeping our values aimed at keeping the family together with a strong moral base, we veered off and wanted “things” and “more things” instead of stronger and deeper relationships. We have no one or no country to blame but ourselves. Just take a look at who we elect to high office. What is our education system teaching? Certainly revisionist history. Certainly situational ethics. Certainly sewer morality. Certainly………….. you get the drift. It finally boils down to each one of us to take responsibility for our own actions or lack thereof. I believe it is never too late……until it is.
Mikey, wake up and smell the coffee buddy. Do not forget the effects of bloated union demands that keep running up costs. They want a bigger piece of the profits pie and they appeal to your Patriotism to keep you in line. Yet they do not risk any capital to invest in production. They have destroyed their own jobs. The unions are helping to destroy our Nation with their selfish greed. They take union money and buy the president with their donations. They are as bad as government employees with their separate retirement plans and benefits packages. Like congress. They are all special and we are just plebiscites. (look it up). Now we shall all reap the whirlwind. If you vote democrat and continue this destruction, you are as bad as the bankers and socialists that installed Hitler to power in Germany. Look it up and study it. The similarities are shocking and profound.
“Made in USA” should be back anywhere in america, china products are so bad…
P., O., R. are multimillionares now, money made from our taxes payer from the very poor to their pockets, what a criminals…
you hit the nail on the head.that is nothing thoughcompared to what mis coming.this country is going to go down like the soviet union. only the rich will survive. we will see our children on the streets selling belongings just to eat. i’ve said it before i love my country but hate the rich capitalist that run it
JPW, the truth hurts, doesn’t it, [offensive word removed].
You are so right! It is so easy to pass the buck, but the blame starts here. I have an American car (Chevy) and always have. I was always told and always have bought American cars, but do I check the lables of the clothes I buy for myself or children, or the furniture I sit on, or the nick nacks in my house? NO, and you are right, that is my fault. I stand strong and tell everyone I talk too, buy an American car, keep Americans working. But what about the other stuff? Stuff that Americans used to make. I have blamed the big corporations for outsourceing jobs, but they are just selling what I am buying. Thank you for opening my eyes.
We all get the negative emails, we all get the “Don’t buy Chinese”, we all get the “Social security will be bankrupt” and we all just send emails. HOW can I avoid buying Chinese made products if it’s not labelled “Made in China”? HOW DO WE TAKE CONTROL AWAY FROM THE PRINCES AND PRINCESSES IN WASHINGTON? Did we not have a revolution to take control away from the royalty already? Who promoted the senators and congressmen/women to royalty? Who promoted the liberal celebrities in CA to royalty? And in response to yur comment on “Read the Web” – just because it’s on the web doesn’t make it accurate.
Are you saying that the general public could do something about where the owners of stores would buy the things they sell????I really think that you are full of shit.
I was very disgusted to see the tag on a military issued blanket. You guessed right, made in China. Come on, we can’t even make our supplies for our troops. This is so disheartening.
The US has been taken for a ride sence 1933 and all parties have done wrong, the blam lies with we the people and every body will be awaken soon. Let Fredom Ring!!!
John Myers is correct. American GREED is the cause of most of this country’s economic problemS: HOWEVER, when we think of greed it can only reflect upon our wealthy investors and that is synonymous with Republicans.
Then he bemoans the rate at which China’s economy has grown in comparison with that of the United States. Again, the finger points at the wealthy Republicans who, by reason of greed, moved their manufacturing plants out of OUR country, thus depriving millions of AMERICANS the opportunity of earning a fair living, keeping their money in the U.S. and returning part of it in the form of taxes.
Finally, “American Liberal” is quite right in blaming the Republican Bush administration for squandering trillions of our tax dollars (except for wealthy Republican cohorts who capitalized on their Iraq “business venture”).
Now these same Republicans want Americans to put them back in power? No Way. REMEMBER NOVEMBER and let the Democrats finish the job of healing the wounds inflicted by the GREEDY Republicans. – 30 -
bill,
How about the rich democrats??? Like albore who has made over 300,000,000 (three hundred million) since he left officeby bilking the American people on green energy scares!!! There is blame for the dems as well!!
Joe H. Don’t forget Obama who was sooo poor he went to college on our dime and is now a multi millionaire, Pelosi also a multi-multi millionaire, Reid, mush mouth Barney, the Kennedys, we could go on and on and on and……
A testimonial Karl Marx would enjoy.
Do you not know there are more millionaire Democrats in the Obama Administration and Congress than there are millionaire Republicans? It always makes me laugh when I hear the Democrats demonizing the rich.
Bill,
Re your post of April 28th, 7:18am and;
…letting Obama fix the mess left behind by GREEDY REPUBLICANS
You sir are 100% CORRECT!
We are so screwed!!
Yeah sure, and “Tyler Too”. Oh and a little bit of the blame goes on Dolly Madison’s shoulders too. Who the hell cares who’s to blame. I’m so sick and tired of “it’s his fault”, “no his”, no his. For God’s sake it’s no one’s fault and every one’s, so who cares. What we need is some constructive fixes. Some in depth vetting for Nov. We need to vote in the people who have ideas and ways to close our wounds and heal the suporating divisions brought on by resurrecting the racial thing which, until obama came along, was dying a natural death. We need our constitution and Our Americanism back. What happened to American pride? It’s not too late but the clock is ticking, this is not the time for complacency, nor finger pointing.
Maybe America will be the “PHOENIX arising from the ashes”! How appropriate since AZ is starting to stand up for her her States rights!
Bud H, you’re right, it is definitely the Dem’s, Obama & liberals in general inciting & resurrecting the “race thing”, as you term. Also the influence of the “race thing” upon the minds of the general public is, or was, overstated until these…people appeared.
Bud H.,
While I understand what you’re saying and can even agree with the idea of just finding solutions…
However,as with petulant children who, when allowed to perpetrate wrongs against their peers in the sandbox, if they are not punished and brought up short for correction those wrongs can become norms. Punish them first and the sandbox is safe to play in. The RepubperpeTAITORS have NEVER been punished, in fact it seems ONLY Dems. are EVER punished, and for non constitutionally threatening “crimes” like oral sex…Never mind an illegal war in Iraq, colluding w/AT&T for info, closed door meetings w/Oil execs. in 03 ahead of a SHARP rise in Oil prices in 06->, illegal wire taps etc.
The sheer breadth of the crimes committed against Americans by the Repubs since Nov. 4th, 1980 and Reagans ‘We’re going to turn the BULL loose’ speach w/the cherry on the cake supplied by the Supreme Court’s 2001 decision in favor of W – in the name of his fathers New World Order is staggering. If those crimes – and ones enabled by W’s Republican enablers in Congress/State/Pentagon/Supreme Court et al. are not corrected the swamp cannot be drained, as SO clearly needs to happen…
The United States is under attack from within, and it ain’t coming from the left folks…The Right Wing Pump and Dump crowd has played the system and the public like a symPHONY and MADDOFF WITH ALL THE MONEY! and dared you to do anything about it…
Does this mean that the illegal’s will leave the US and invade China to get better jobs? They have a unique way to fix that problem!
Bud… Agreed… The blame game isn’t gonna fix what’s broke…. I’m for Regulating Wallstreet…. Letting the Tax cuts expire on the top 2%… and when and ” if” we get out of this recession ” stop” the massive spending and borrowing….that said… It’s going to cost to rebuild all that’s broke… Infrastructure, military and we need to start making products in America again…
The Obama Administration is putting back in as regulators the same ones who got us into trouble in the first place. They’re only rearranging the deck chairs.
Our beggest mistake is Obama. We haven’t seen the end of it, it will be quite difficult but I think Americans can handle it. Just don’t expect ANYTHING to be “just done for you” anymore.
Rightwing Dave: Nonsense…
Chaos Factor, please explain…or your nonsense factor is nonsense…
sorry…nonsense COMMENT is nonsense!!
We have to start doing what he has been doing? attack the man and prove hes not who he claims to be? fact he isn’t a Law Poffessor ,hes not even a licensed Lawyer, and neither is his lovely wife Michelle.Does it raise questions of How they came to not being Lawyers or him lying about being a College professor?with tenure????His whole life is based on lies and more lies and until we see the papers hes hiding we won’tknow if its criminal or what.We must know what hes hiding from?sign up even if you don’t believe hes guilty of any crimes but the only way to silence the schism in America is to let it be known? THAT WE THE PEOPLE WANT THIS TO END ONE WAY OR THE OTHER?SINCE OBAMA WON’T WE THE PEOPLE WILL ?JOIN ME AND SIGN ALL THE PETITIONS AND PASS THEM ON.iT’S NOT ABOUT BEING BIRTHERS JUST AMERICANS!
SO SIGN UP PEOPLE AND LET US PUT THIS QUESTION TO BED ONCE AND FOR ALL!
THANK YOU RUNNINBEAR! Here here!
Where’s there’s smoke, there’s fire, and there’s a lot of smoke here.
Obama believes that where there is smoke there are mirrors.
Jo… Until someone get real about immigration the problems not gonna ever just fix itself…. As long as illegals can come here and get jobs no LAW is gonna stop them from coming… It hasn’t before and it’s not now…. Going after the root of the problem will work…. And that’s the employers just looking for cheap labor….if they can’t stay in business and follow the law then they have no business being in business… Go after them… No Jobs.. No illegals… Or way less at least
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer got serious about it. Much to the dismay of the illegals and their supporters. Go Arizona.
Hey AL! You’ve changed your tune. Just a day or so ago, on another site, you were preaching amnesty for wetbacks. You can’t have it both ways.
I, a conservative, completely agree with this, however, it’s only one leg of the problem.
American Liberal,
I totally agree with this, and further I get irate when people claim there would be no way to physically deport the 11 million illegals already here…NONSENSE! If we can build a country from nothing we can certainly kick out those who are here illegally! While I am a liberal – gasp!….I am fed up with those who continue to make believe the problem is too big to attack and that nothing can be done…
That is ALMOST as insulting as those of Hispanic descent – legal/illegal marching carrying MEXICAN FLAGS!!…apparently they got over their Homer Simpson moment and started carrying American flags…Saw a piece on the news tonight 5/3 about this woman in Arizona who has been here illegally for 15 years, and she STILL apparently could NOT speak English…she decided it was too risky to stay in Arizona and was shown packing and driving for Colorado…
I sympathize with those in Mexico who are living in poverty. BUT! The best thing you can do for both YOURSELF AND YOUR COUNTRY would be to STAY IN YOUR COUNTRY, GET AN EDUCATION AND HELP MEXICAO WORK IT’S WAY TO FIRST WORLD STATUS!! THE WORLD WILL HELP YOU!
The citizens of the United States did this BEFORE modern industrial/digital technology existed! You CAN DO THIS! TOO!! THE WORLD WILL HELP YOU! STOP COMING HERE ILLEGALLY! because Americans are getting fed up!
Why is it that no one seems to remember Bill clinton and al gore encouraging overwhelming enviromentalist laws against our industries forcing them out of bussiness. While Chinese investors bought the equipment and moved them to China. All of his so called wonderful trade agreements favored Chinas interest and his personal gains to the tune of over a 100 million dollars per year at the cost of the nations economy. And as for a bunch of envirometal enthusiasts praise to this .There is only one enviroment it is called the earths enviroment. All of these industries that are now in china are totally without control. And that is thanks to enviromental powers out of control and no regard to common sese of cost. While a government with no sense of economics spends billions of dollars on bailling out leeches like banks and insurance companys that produce nothing.and watch the true producing industries be devoured. Sorry we are governed by a bunch of ignorant loseres. While China is governed by highly intelligent winners. Open your eyes Americans let the facts speak for them selves. Fools do foolish things are the american politicians fools or are they diabolical profitiers take your choice regardless the results is th same a mighty nation falling to its knees.Under the overwhelming ignorance of unqualified leadership. My opinion it was free.
We’ve got to stop electing lawyers who only know how to steal other people’s money and elect people who know how business is supposed to work.
Danny… The Massey mine disaster.. You want companys to go unregulated and nonunion then your going to have disaters like the one 2 weekago that took 30 miners lives because the companys CEO’s only care about the Dollar…China doesn’t have safeguards and regulations so you get products that Kill people… Is that what you want?
Chaos Factor,
Years ago,I dated Blanch Gregory, she later married J.B Massey. She died of cancer last year,at the age of 82.Her husband own several mining companies and, he is deceased too.He started the Red Bird Coal Company in partnership with a man named Ralph Peters.Mr Peters was kill in a boating accident and the partnership went to the surviving partner. It later was renamed Massey Coal Company, although it still bears his name.I don’t think the Massey family owns it,they sold out to a company in Canada. Blanch and her husband were buried in the Manchester Cemetery.Manchester, Kentucky.
This country use to be about the American worker and the American product… Reaganomics shifted the focus on the CEO,s and making a profit at the expense of the middleclass… And add IRaq to that and we are where we are..you can blame Obama all you want but that’s not going to change the Reaility that he did wreck the economy…. It was wrecked when he took office… And the spending is a must… Do you honestly think John McCain would have done better or do you think the same economic advisors would have told McCain a diffrent way other than stimulas spending to revive the economy?… McCain sat in on the same economic meetings during the election that Ibama sat in on…as did Democrat leaders and Republicans
One word! Bullshat!!!!!
One more word if I may- IDIOT!
That’s about right.
The current president wants higher taxes, more regulation, more spending and loose money.
In his inaugural address, President Barack Obama said, “The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works — whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.” Or as administration spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said in January, the touchstone is, “What will have the biggest and most immediate impact on creating private sector jobs and strengthening the middle class? We’re guided by what works, not by any ideology or special interests.”
The Obama administration’s economic policies do not include any of the four Reagan components. In fact, the stimulus plan is the greatest increase in government spending in the history of the planet. Meanwhile, the Fed is furiously reinflating, sowing more havoc down the line. Mr. Obama is still promising future increases in tax rates by letting the Bush tax cuts lapse, because for ideological reasons he thinks even current rates are too low. And instead of deregulating for more energy production, he is still promising massive increases in regulatory barriers — through global warming cap-and-trade legislation — to increased production from proven energy sources to serve an extreme environmentalist ideology.

You forgot about the VAT tax he wants to impose. This is one guy who knows nothing about fixing an economy.
Why have’nt I heard the Drill Baby Drill riddle lately. Are we no longer dependant on foreign oil??
Probably with this new oil spill in the gulf, the Dems will put a “squash” on it again.
I find it ironic that disasters seem to surface when the global warming/climate change discussions are taking place or that the pres says start explorations off the east coast. Hasn’t his green policies leaned towards eliminating dependence on the fossil fuels like coal, oil etc. Thinking out load again, not promoting any conspiracy theories.
We can’t be blind to the fact that they commonly resort to such tactics to further their agenda. It is just a bit too convenient.
I’ve been wondering the same thing. It’s all just too convenient. What has caused the blasts in the mine and the oil rig? Has anyone heard anything? There is such as thing as sabotage.
This oil rig explosion was a horrific tragedy. The ocean’s habitat, the beaches, and the birds–many will suffer and die. It was caused by human carelessness or someone sabotaged the rig. We will never know the truth. All I can say is if someone did indeed sabotage this rig, I hope they rot in hell.
susie,
Obummer ran on not allowing drilling off shore, now he says he will allow it and real conveniently a drilling platform explodes. I’m not one to believe in coincidence!!!! Real handy explosion…For Him!!!
I’m wondering that too….
Have you not seen the little oil slick in the gulf dude? Wait till it reaches the pristine beaches of Florida and see how many billions of tourist dollars are lost. Drill baby drill that!
Who was/or what was the cause of the Oil spill? Explosion….huh????
I heard from how DUMB we American’s were and WE (CHINA) are going to OWN you! Your to soft, to easy, it will just be a matter of time & patience. That was right after China opened up, and I entered walking under Bagonette’s to clear Custom’s. Health care cost under $15.00 at that time, and it was diffrent but amazing result’s. CHINA IS NOT DUMB!!
The SMARTEST thing and at least a start is AZ. and there new stand to safe THERE STATE from disaster!! They are trying to come up for air and I am all for them, over 70% of the people agree. WHO ARE WE TO BLAME?? I say WE have lost so much, by our own “Give” and letting people rob us, NOW we are losing out!! To Blame is simply showing our clouded IQ, WAKE UP, GET UP, and START BEING a Country where THE PEOPLE RULE and we take control. 545 people against 300,000,000 people we can do it! VOTE out ALL and clean HOUSE!! The unexpected, and we walk away with our America Back! Send the criminals, drunks, home to their own country and let them take care of them, NOT US!
“Blessed is the nation whose God is The Lord” & “Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.” Beloved we have a SIN problem and have denounced THE CREATOR OF THE WORLD. WE WERE ENDOWED BY OUR CREATOR WITH CERTAIN INALIENABLE RIGHTS BUT WE NO LONGER ACKNOWLEDGE HIM AS CREATOR. I suggest reading John ! Col. 1 and Hebrews 1 to find out who the Creator is.
AMEN to that.
Our crooked representatives from the last 170 years have sold us out and China has become the major player. They’re all equally guilty, Democrats, Republicans. Unless we “take back” the House and Senate, kiss the good ole USA, as we’ve known her, Good Bye…Stop the Marxist president and his socialist sheeple in both houses from attaining their goal.
You can hate on President Obama all you want… But his approval polls are at 51% , which is twice as high as ANY REPUBLICAN or conservative and that’s amazing concidering how many problems he has had to deal with since he took office…and president Obama will be around till at least 2016.. Especially if this economy rebounds… And it’s much better than the day he took office..
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 31% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -10.
Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove.
My my my said the monkey to the pie
JeffH AL just reads the polls that appeal to him like polls that are 2 years old now! Look at a poll taken honestly and covering every concept and I bet it would be a much lower percentage too. Your president is not liked by anyone other than you delusional libs, AmLib!
Barb, AL’s comments can be taken with a grain of salt…I don’t even waste my time with the Alinskyite.
Yeah but it sure is fun yanking his chain!
JeffH,
That market that amalib talks about doing so good? I was listening to the radio in my car and they said the market fell about 200 points today!!! Yeah, it’s doing FANTASTIC!!!!
JoeH, only first run information huh? Heck, most of the libbys are still behind in their info by 8-9 years. You and I know GW isn’t in the White House and we also know there aren’t Unicorns chasing Rainbows either.
Barb, the 51% is just the Democrat approval poll, it doesn’t reflect the approval of Independants or Republicans.
American Liberal,
I think it was last week, his poll rating was 41.Did it jump 10 persent?
I’m very glad this website exists because I’m afraid if there wasn’t some place for you to vent your rage, half of you nuts would be out with scoped rifles looking for somebody to kill.
