People turning to herbal remedies to save money

As the economy has faltered, sales of herbal remedies and vitamins have been increasing, as people look for less expensive ways to treat health conditions.
That is according to an Associated Press investigation, which found many Americans looking to avoid filling costly prescriptions or making doctors’ visits.
According to an AP analysis of data, nationwide retail sales of vitamins and supplements rose by nearly 10 percent during the three months ending December 28th, compared with the same period in 2007.
That data includes New Jersey mom Kristen Kemp, who told the news provider she has been treating her kids’ illnesses with home remedies such as tea and honey, as well as with Chinese herbs.
"Just going to the doctor will cost me $20 per kid – and I have three kids," she explained. "Just in case something bad happens to our jobs, I want more money in the bank."
A government survey released late last year showed that more Americans have been turning to natural supplements to treat their health problems. Among that group, approximately one-quarter cited cost as a factor for avoiding conventional medicine.

I think we should take control of our own health care. Herbal is a good place to start. It gives your own body time to fight off the virus and bacterias. If we take to many antibiotics the viruses and bacterias just grow into somthing else.We get no vitamins in our food anymore no minerals in our water and to many hormones in our milk and meat. I think americans are getting smarter, just catching on to doctors that practice medicine on them.I have been taking vitamins and herbs for years and havn’t seen a sick day except colds.I believe if we build our immune systems up instead of letting antibiotics tear them down , we would see a whole lot of healthier children, and our lives would be a better quality as we age.
Time to wake up and use natural remedies. Try the universal anti-biotic colloidal silver. Will save you money and has no side effects.
I,too, have been taking vitamins and herbal medicines for years. Before I started taking vitamins on a regular basis, I had bronchitis EVERY year. Since I’ve started the vitamin regimen, I haven’t had bronchitis one time in 10 years. I think that speaks for itself.
You are using the same techniques used by the communist controled media on people turning to herbal remedies etc. The last sentence tells it accurately. If 1/4 of the people surveyed turned to herbal remedies do to the high cost of “conventional” medicine what about the other 3/4 of the people surveyed? Shouldn’t that have been the real story? People are realizing that conventional medicine (the natural herbs and methods that have been around hundreds of years)is more effective with limited side effects than “alternative” medicine.
Modern medicine (chemical drugs and the like)is less than 200 years old and with a few exceptions is a disaster. Look at the death rate of people treated by “modern” medicine and if you have half a brain you will seek other treatments as did the 3/4 of the people surveyed.
