Non-traditional Pain Management Techniques Found To Be Effective In Acute Care Hospital
March 12, 2010 by Personal Liberty News Desk
Results of a recent study have suggested that non-traditional therapies are capable of significantly relieving pain among a range of hospitalized patients.
"Roughly 80 percent of patients report moderate to severe pain levels after surgery," said study author Gregory Plotnikoff, medical director of the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
"We struggle to provide effective pain control while trying to avoid the adverse effects of opiate medications, such as respiratory depression, nausea, constipation, dizziness and falls," he added.
In the study, the researchers evaluated more than 1,800 cardiovascular, surgical, oncology and orthopedics patients and had them score their pain on a verbal scale of zero to 10 both before and after treatment.
The treatments included natural therapy services, such as acupuncture, acupressure, massage therapy, healing touch, music therapy, aromatherapy and reflexology. The research team found the therapies effectively reduced pain levels by more than 50 percent across numerous patient groups.
Moreover, the study’s authors concluded that non-traditional pain therapy options can be clinically implemented under the operational and financial constraints of a hospital setting.

McCain and other Government “protectors” are trying their best to control our food and supplement choices. We need to wake up, become politically active, and rid our Government of these controlling Politicians:

Yes! It’s all about POWER and CONTROL of “we the people!”
Huge amounts of money are spent in managing pain and some of these alternative therapies can be applied very cheaply.
I have a lot of back pain and I remember an occasion when I heard a piece of exciting music and noticed after hearing it that the back pain no longer was bothering me. Endorphins? Classical music is what makes it happen for me. I was impressed while on a trolley awaiting surgery when the anaesthetics nurse played soothing classical music which shifted my focus to something more helpful than anxiety.
It doesn’t need to be classical. MP3 players can enable patients to have the benefits of music therapy regardless of their musical preferences. How we feel has a huge impact on our experience of pain and hospitals rely excessively on medications to effect change.
This research has huge implications in areas such as nursing education and for others responsible for pain management and also for those who struggle to contain the ever escalating costs of health care which in Australia currently increase at 11% per year while funding increases at only 4% per year.
The best rule-of-thumb is ‘use it if it works.’ Shun it if it doesn’t work. It’s very disappointing to see the lack of feedback in health issues. Hopefully, Americans are seeing that certain hack, career politicians [McCain comes to mind] serve NO purpose in seeing to it that we get quality healthcare. Remember, folks, this character [McCain] wanted to be our prez.
Neither the AMA nor the FDA are ready to admit that they don’t have all the answers to every health matter. They’re too busy redistributing America’s wealth and keeping their favorite politicians in office.
It’s no accident that IF oncologists (cut, burn and poison) and cardiologists (bypass surgery and stents) were good at what they do (as opposed to ‘if you don’t have this procedure done tomorrow, you’ll DIE!], many hospitals would have to close their doors. Once again, folks, it’s MONEY OVER LIVES. Yes, we need reform, but GOVERNMENT is the problem. FORCE Uncle Scam to do HIS JOB. AND, get him the hell out of healthcare!
People who don’t want healthcare in this country have obviously never been without

Instant Healing
Dear Sir,
I want to share my experience with you in healing pain.
I keep my palms on the pain affected area for about one minute , then pain is relieved . So far I have cured more than 100 persons suffering from tooth pain, back ,neck pain ,cut & bruishes, dizziness, headache any other musular pain in the body. I do it without any concentration and at any time ,any place.
I recently came across some cancer patients..I applied above metholody and they were cured of their pain .Now I have a strong faith and confidence in me that I can cure cancer and relieve pain out of cancer.
Why one gets pain ? Every part of our body needs tender care . If care is not taken, that part complains in the form of pain. Once you take a pill , you are neglecting the complaint and avoiding it. So the complaint does not go away and it reappears later.
I belief that generating awerness is the path toward attending to body complaint.and subsequent relief of the pain .
Awerness can be generated by following ways.
(i) Practising Yoga Nidra( yogic process)
(ii) Contracting and relaxing every muscle of your body and feeling the tension and relaxation of the muscle .earnestly request to contact me before going for medical treatment for cancer or of its pain. I assure you a free of cost treatment.
(iii) Self observation.
Let us join together to reach the freedom which is in our hand and we deserve it.
Thanks & Regards-
