More details of offshore accounts investigations revealed

Federal prosecutors have announced some 150 wealthy Americans, all customers of Swiss bank UBS, are under investigation for suspected tax fraud.
They are among the more than 250 U.S. clients of UBS whose data were turned over to the IRS earlier this year as part of the initial settlement with the bank which also included a $780 million fine, according to USA Today.
According to the source, which cites records from a Florida federal court, some of those under investigation allegedly hid their ownership of the secret accounts by controlling them through entities in Hong Kong, Panama or the British Virgin Islands, a strategy revealed by former UBS banker Bradley Birkenfeld who cooperated with the U.S. authorities.
Last week, Bireknfeld was sentenced to 40 months in prison for conspiring to defraud the U.S. by helping a wealthy American real estate mogul conceal $200 million from the IRS in offshore accounts, according to the Telegraph.
Earlier this month, the IRS and UBS struck a deal whereby the government would drop a civil lawsuit against the financial institution in exchange for the bank releasing the names of more than 4,450 U.S. taxpayers with undeclared bank accounts.
These Americans are NOT GUILTY. It is WRONG of the government to act as though they are. If they want to have their accounts OVER SEAS, then they should be allowed to; instead of being SUBJECTED by the communist, facist OBAMA REGIME to a WITCH HUNT!
This investigation will stop when they find deposits by Congressmen or stumble into the $60 million that vanished from the Arkansas Madison Guaranty & Trust when the Clintons presided over its’ collapse. When they find Hillary and Bill’s fingerprints this investigation will die.
I’ll have to disagree with you there, they will be overlooked. The Obama regime is in the stealing business. I can’t believe that they are intimdateing other countries, this socialist government is WAY OUT OF LINE. Obama is just mad cause he doesn’t have any off shore accounts. The IRS & as well as the self serving judges that are making up rules as they go to give Obama nation more power to come into & take control of Americans lifes, all in the name of Change. The IRS,FBI,CIA should be taking a deep look into these peoples past,because of the power they hold & answer to no one. If one Dem is found to have put their money offshore,it will be shut down,but if one REP gets caught,it will open up big time!Al Gore should be looked at & all his green buddies!

I have personally seen the IRS and the judges at work. Even the lawyers all sit around a decide how the money that they stole from innocent civilians is going to be divided up. One of the lawyers was working for the civilian by the way. So they are ALL in bed together, as it were.
And the IRS is self serving. They answer to no one! They were initially started illegally and have grown stronger throughout their regime to a point where no one can touch them.
I know of people that have committed suicide because of the tactics of the IRS and yet they go unscathed and continue a regime of fear and terror on the people that pay their taxes!
I personally know of one family that lost their very lucrative (and legal) business and put 6 people out of work and lost home and their marriage and were hounded (unjustly) by the IRS for over 20 years! They are still not clear of their wrath either, because as they prove their case to one area of the IRS the IRS just transfers it to another area and it starts all over again. Even though the original debt was cleared up over 18 years ago the IRS makes up numbers as they go along to prove their case without having to show proof as citizens have to do!
This needs to stop and needs to stop soon. With the state of the nation and the economy people just can’t deal with this much longer.
So, let me get this straight, you only want middle class working Americans to contribute to the tax structure? Even if you don’t believe in it, I find it hard to understand why you would think that some people who make millions should be exempt from paying taxes? I personally believe in the Fair or Flat tax, but that tax treats everybody the same. Why do you want me to pay taxes, but not my mulit million dollar neighbor?

The IRS (the Fed’s thugocracy) can extort and investigate foreign banks and decide what to do with the findings, but the Fed itself cannot be audited? I agree with Vic as far as to say only select individuals will be prosecuted. The statement “The Obama regime is in the stealing business” is also true so, many of those who have wealth stashed in these accounts will simply pay the extortionists in this regime. Only select “offenders” will be smeared by the state run media while those who pay the hush money will never be known to us. Once Obama, Pelosi and Reid get their “Con Con” they can do ANYTHING they want, and no one can stop them other than the Fed puppet masters who control them.
I believe I have very many compatriots who feel as I do…overwhelmed and heartsick contemplating the ’state of the nation’, the situation we find ourselves in whereby we have descended into soul destroying slavery imposed by the new communist slavemasters in ‘government’.Having been warned repeatedly what was coming one can only conclude that a majority of ‘Americans’ are either brain dead or welcoming of a despotic regime which will relieve them of the burden [FREEDOM!!} to chart their own lives. I see the alarm simplistically, When they came for them, nobody spoke up. When they come for you, nobody will be left to speak up.
Consider there is a article in the Health care bill that allows the IRS direct access to your bank account if you do not meet their standards for insurance and encounter a debilitating health situation. Lose your ability to pay and you will not only be in trouble financially, you’ll be in a criminal situation. But Hey maybe one of those whose situation you ignored now will come help you.
