Group unveils health insurance proposal

A private U.S. health policy group has published a proposal in which it outlines its plans for expanding coverage and reducing healthcare costs.
The Commonwealth Fund’s Commission on a High Performance Health said in its recently released report that it is possible to insure everyone, improve the quality of healthcare and trim expenses by some $3 trillion by 2020.
However, this will require deep and comprehensive reforms, such as the creation a national insurance exchange that would offer a choice of private plans and a new public plan.
Other proposals include insurance reforms that will provide affordable coverage for all; aligning incentives with value and effective cost control; accessible, patient-centered and coordinated care; and accountable leadership to achieve national goals.
"With our economy in crisis, health costs squeezing family budgets, and coverage deteriorating, we can’t afford to continue on our current path," says Commonwealth Fund president Karen Davis. "The commission has laid out a pragmatic strategy that could rapidly move us in more positive directions."
She adds that reforming the healthcare is a matter of both "family and national security."
The commission also proposes cost rationalization measures, including payment and information system reforms, that would slow the rate of cost growth to 5.5 percent per year from the currently projected 6.7 percent over the coming decade.
The commission was formed in April 2005 to identify best policies and practices that would lead to improvements in the delivery and financing of healthcare.
If you think you can’t trust the Gov. then wait for it folks because the insurance companies are some of the biggest crooks on the face of the earth. I know I will get a lot of hate mail for this one but I think we need national health care. Just keep our tax money here in this country and stop with the lies that more taxes would be needed for the health care. For America by Americans, keep our money in OUR country.

Palliative, (death care)
in lieu of real life saving
care for Sr.’s.
Most of who paid into Govt.
sponsored “Social Security Trust Fund”
for a lifetime with an expectation
the fund would NOT be used for
anything but retirement for Sr. Americans.
So much for “TRUST’ in the Govt.
Illegals will fare better than American Sr. Citizens.
Taxes on Medical devices
heart valves, artificial joints
etc. etc.
Layers of bureacracy before
you can receive lifesaving
care.
“Gatekeepers” (instead of death panels)
bureacrats to determine what care you will receive.
Earmarks and Taxes for all to absorb,
benefitting and rewarding the left
wing snobs who have been given exemptions
to have Cadillac health care plans
subsidized and paid by the people who
are lacking power to do anything but comply,
or have your assets and wealth seized to
support this phony compassionate system.
This includes SEIU (Unions, Congress, and
Govt. Employees. They will neither wait
not suffer from lack of care.
Have you ever heard the expression “EQUAL RIGHTS”
I WANT EQUAL RIGHT TO RECEIVE TIMELY HEALTH CARE!!
The same rights as our elderly, over the hill
leftists who will none choose the Public option.
They are all protected class!
Abortion on demand for the irresponsible
and immoral segments of society.
Millions more babies murdered in the name
of women’s rights. (what happened to
inalienable, “God Given” right to life?)
Our individual rights, spelled out in constitution are
being violated and we are to roll over?
Theft of votes to support left agenda through
amnesty reward for those Illegally entering our
country, collecting untold sums of money
for support and jobs that would otherwise
benefit American citizens. Counting on
this as a voting bloc. to sustain this
Marxist/Socialist ideology.
Loss of privacy and Govt. right to your
financial and health records.
Government control over YOU from the
womb to the tomb. Another form of SLAVERY!
Diminished care and Diminished wealth.
Exploding deficits that are lining the pockets
of cronies and political allies of this
administration.
Loss of value on the dollar because of our
inability to control our debt. China has
warned us, they may not finance us further.
Possible COLLAPSE OF THE DOLLAR!, BECAUSE
OF UNRESTRAINED DEBT. Possibly fulfilling
the left wing dream of “Global Governance”!

Oversight of Insurance Co.’s a better route
than Govt. oversight of corruption in a Govt.

of us individually “stand up for our rights” – who will listen to us?
Not the democrats and they certainly are in control at this time. I
am scared for America as a whole – we are going to be a thrid world
country when the demos get through with us…..what can we as individuals do????
I am absolutely against this heath care plan. Yes, I want heath care reform BUT NOT RUN by our government. I recently had breast cancer and bilateral mastectomy. I would not have gotten the care through the government having some unknown “Commissioner” in Washington, D.C., deciding what I can and cannot do and choosing my doctors. I do not want abortion paid for by taxpayers. I do not want “illegal” immigrants covered by our health care. They already get free health care from us. They come to our Country to have babies who are then citizens and do not pay their bills. The hospitals and doctors take a loss and we as taxpayers foot the bill. There are more taxes for us on this bill. People will be fined for not getting insurance under this bill. If you cannot afford health care (and I’ve been there), how can you afford a hefty fine? More weight to bear for single moms. The government spends money, our money. There is too much spending now and we cannot afford this outrageous cost for this bill. Let’s fix what we have instead of having a 2,075 page bill mess us up more.
