Foundation criticizes government for gun control plans

In response to a recent statement by Attorney General Eric Holder that the administration would consider banning semi-automatic rifles, an industry association has said a ban would be counterproductive and illegal.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation believes a ban would cause jobs to be lost, and have no effect on reducing crime. It would also violate gun owners’ constitutional right to own the firearm of their choice.
"These semi-automatic rifles are the most popular rifle in America today and they are largely behind the recent increase in firearms sales," said Steve Sanetti, president of NSSF. "This is a bright spot in our economy and has helped save jobs in our industry."
He also blasted Holder for erroneously calling this type of rifle an "assault weapon," and said that it is used by millions of law-abiding Americans for hunting, sport and personal defense.
On February 26, Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters that the Obama Administration intended to reinstate a semi-automatic gun ban in the U.S.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association of the firearms industry and promotes, protects and preserves the shooting sports.

Why is the unconstitutional nature of gun control always the last on the list of reasons against it. It should be the only. There should not exist US data on why gun control doesn’t work because it was illegal to begin with.
eJack: We also need to think that if there is no ammo to buy, a rifle is no better than a baseball bat, unless you’re real good at bluffing & backing somebody down off your property. I’ve been advising people to get into bowhunting, just in case they run out of ammo. It’s just as fun & silent weapons strategies have won wars in the past. -Jeff
Years ago when Howard Hill was a big name in archery, he and many other archers demonstrated that a 5 gallon can of sand could stop a 30.06 bullet BUT that same 5 gallon bucket of sand was pierced by a broadhead tipped arrow. The weight and momentum of the arrow caused it to go thru the entire bucket of sand. It would be interesting to experiment and see if that same arrow would pierce a bullet proof vest.
Gun control is against our personal FREEDOMS. We have a right to protect our persons, homes and property against criminals, enemy and even state or government when required ! Giving up our right to freedom of speech is an encroachment upon our civil rights. Giving up our defensive weapons is giving up our right to even defend ourselves from a tyrannistic government like the one OBOMA is creating with this one world government order ! STAND UP FOR YOUR CIVIL RIGHTS OR END UP HAVING YOUR TAX DOLLARS AIMED AGAINST YOU !!!

The object of all left-wing liberal socialist-comunists is stop freedom of speech and remove guns from our society, one step at a time. I have a question to ask everyone: What is an assault Weapon? Semi-autonatic rifle’s are not Assault Weapons. Assault Weapons are used my the military and the police. Already illegal to own.
The Obama Administration is going to place a large tax on Ammo. Buy all you can now!
