Americans Increasingly Disagree With Obama’s Policies, Polls Show

A pair of new opinion polls has found President Obama’s policy ratings among Americans are slipping, though he remains personally popular.
The first survey, released by the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation on Oct. 20 suggests 51 percent of respondents disagree with Obama on main issues. This marks the first time a majority has expressed such opinion since he took office last January.
However, the poll also found that two-thirds of Americans have a positive opinion about his personal qualities.
"This president might be shaping up to be a little like Ronald Reagan, where people actually didn’t often agree with [his] ideas, but they loved the guy," said Paul Begala, a Democratic strategist and CNN contributor, quoted by the news provider.
Meanwhile, the poll prepared by Gallup suggest Obama’s job approval ratings averaged 53 percent in the third quarter, down from the average of over 60 percent during his first two quarters in office.
Gallup says the president’s ratings were the highest on Jan. 21, 2009—the day of his inauguration—when 69 percent of Americans expressed their approval of him. 
With Exactly WHO is he popular? Illegals he wants to make citizens or subjects to vote for him next election?

As I understand it Obama is about to sign some form of tready that will make our constition Void. We will not have a vote, nor any other freedom we have enjoyed. Both parties have been moving in this direction for several years. Now Obama is about to sign a tready that we assure one world rule, and we will not have any thing to say about it if we let it happen!!! Tophat is correct. Read up on the Copenhagen Treaty. Not only does it nullify our constitution and the similar documents of other countries foolhardy enough to sign it, it also decrees that the “rich” nations must pay the “poor” nations 2-1/2% of their GNP. Who are the poor countries? China, Russia, African continent. This is the climate control bill. I hate to let my ultra-conservative side pop out here, but Glenn Beck on Fox News is TODAY spending his whole hour-long show on just this topic. Former Ambassador John Bolton is one of his guests and a British Lord who is traveling the world warning of the dire consequences of this Treaty.

Robert, you are right about Texas seceding from the Union, and I would think Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and other mountain states, as well as the grain belt, would also go with us. I hope it doesn’t get to that point, because we would all be on a time bomb pending the total collapse of the U.S. This is already taking place with extremist muslims stationed all over the country just waiting for the word from their leaders. American stands for freedom, the freedom of the individual to succeed or fail. We are supposed to help one another, not depend upon the Federal Government. Putting this country into debt to other countries is UNAmerican. Laying trillions of dollars of debt on future generations is UNAmerican. I decided when Obama was elected President, although I did not vote for him because I thought McCain would be a better bet, to forget all that; to accept and indorce him. However, now that I have watched him in action along with his Czars and their agendas, I want that Man out of office. He is ruining our country. Stand Up Americans, this cannot go on any longer.
God… People, Obama is not some demon communist. He is just trying to have the best course of action for the United States, like any statesman. That’s what George Bush wanted, that’s what Jimmy Carter wanted, that’s what any President wanted.
That said, I don’t think Obama is succeeding with his policies (mainly because many aren’t good policies) but I don’t think he’s some crazed communist in disguise.
Then your not paying attention…Obama does not want what’s best for this nation as defined by adherance to the Constituion. He wants a one world socialist Government. Look at who he surrounds himself with.
He is inexperienced and niave. You can tell by his interaction with anyone oposed to him. He is like many younger people, that think they are entitled to the best without doing anything to earn it. They cannot contemplate the consequences of their actions/programs because they were never required to face any failures. They were “bailed out” by their parents. No wonder “bail outs” is the solution to everything.
Parents, please, let your children fail. Pick them up, dust them off, help them recover. Let them know you are proud of the effort. Teach them that it’s not so bad to fail. We learn more from failure than from success.
I also think that the liberal congress is exerting great pressure on him. I hope he doesn’t intend to destroy our Republic, but it certainly does look like we are headed that way.
Laura, I have to disagree with your comment. Obama is not the least bit “naive”. What is transpiring in front of every American is exactly what he believes in. He was hand picked for this job many, many years ago, with very careful planning and support. Obama could never pull this off on his own, without his Harvard Law School education being funded with the assistance of radical Muslim activist and mentor Khalid Al-Mansour and mentoring by the notable J Wright, Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, Frank Marshall Davis. His ideals mirror the influential philanthropist billionaire and anti-American financial backer George Soros.

Bush TRIED to work with a Democratic Congress but was hindered in every way, even to giving in at times, trying to get legitimate policies passed but for nine years he was bashed at every turn, even today, out of office, he’s STILL being abused. Republicans’ approval ratings worst in 25 years

They got rid of scandal-tainted Majority Leader Tom DeLay, airport shoe-tapper Larry Craig and prurient instant message typer Mark Foley, but they just can’t seem to shake the gloom.
Congressional Republicans scored just 36 percent approval ratings from the American public in a CNN/Opinion Research poll released Friday.
Fifty-four percent of Americans viewed Republicans in Congress unfavorably, while 41 percent said they were rankled by Democrats. Democrats had a 53 percent approval rating to Republicans’ 36.
But despite Democrats’ edge over Republicans, their handling of Congress receives few plaudits, according to the poll. Almost 70 percent of those questioned said they disapproved of how Congress was handling its job, with just 29 percent expressing approval.
“The Republican party may still be battling the legacy left to them by George W. Bush,” CNN Polling Director Keating Holland was quoted as saying. “They have also spent a lot of time in 2009 working against Democratic proposals. That hasn’t left them a lot of time so far this year to present a positive, post-Bush message. Of course, there is still plenty of time for them to do so before the 2010 midterms.”
Republicans have branded themselves “the party of no,” for their votes against a Democrat-backed stimulus plan and near-unanimous opposition to President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul goals.
A Washington/Post ABC poll in June put Republicans at a 36 percent approval, while three other polls gave the party a favorability rating of under 30 percent. Republicans scored 29 percent, 28 percent and 25 percent respectively in polls conducted by The New York Times, Pew Research and NBC.
It all depends upon the questions asked and who they polled.

No…It actually started under Carter in the 70′s and the CRA or CDA (Community (Reinvestment or Development) Act). It purpose was to “make housing affordable” for those who couldn’t afford it. It’s basic premise was to lower the lending criteria so low-income, or unworthy people, could get credit for a home loan.
Then, in the 90′s under Clinton, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters, Janet Reno, Harry Reid and other liberal ILK began to put pressure on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to lower their lending critieria to even more unworthy borrowers including ILLEGAL ALIENS. Basically under threat of Government sactions Fanny & Freddie were forced to accept the most unworthy of borrower. Can you say STATED INCOME loan, how about NO DOCUMENT loan.
The warning flags were rasied MANY TIMES in the 90′s and louder in the 2000′ by Repubs and fiscally minded Democrats about how these practices are a ticking time bomb and regulations need to be put in place to defuse it before the bomb goes off. These people were shut down and mocked for being racist and not wanting minorities to have access to the Americam dream. Then Barney Frank decided that Wall Street was going to move to a “Mark-to-Market” system that introduced such volitility into the markets that the bomb was transfored from a traditional-explosive into an ATOM BOMB. That allowed for massive over-stating of the value of REAL assets and the derivitive markets swelled. That swelling took place until it finaly exploded in 2007. If there is ONE PERSON to blame for our economic calamity it’s BARNEY FRANK!

You can make a survey say what ever you want. You can manipulate this by asking the right questions, to get the results that you preset to get. Since CNN and most of these are left wing news organiztions, they have already set the end result, and then set the questions in place to get the desired results. I have had experience in testing this, and have taken the same topic, and simply set up differnent question, and achieved totally different results, with the same people people answering the question.
I have been polled more than once, mostly by college students working for those organizations. They give you the questions and then several answers you can choose from. My answer to most of the questions wasn’t there. There’s no way to give an answer to most of the questions. I’m sure the pollster puts his/her own answer in. That’s why I don’t trust polls.

I do beleive that the “left” and “right” are rather arbitray terms and rather useless. Because, you can always claim things like, “I’m on the right of him, he’s on the left”. Well, when that comes from someone like McCann talking about Reid…in relative terms he is correct. McCann is more right that Reid… But they are both “Lefties” from a true center.
I do not agree too much with the “Liberal / Conservative” thing though. These terms are given with respect to a reference point. LIBs beleive in embracing “new” untried ways of doing things, while “Conservative” beleive in sticking with what has worked historically. I suspect that much of the problem with the polls is that well over half of the respondents are democrats and lefties. Therefore, if 51 percent say they disagree with O’s policies, we can be sure the actual number is much higher. Likewise, if 53 percent say they like the man, we can be sure the actual number is much lower.
You can hope or guess or dream but you certainly can’t be sure.

Reality check guys! Impeachment can only be done through the House. He owns the house and the Senate (that is the only body that can actually unseat a President after impeachment). What we need to do is take back the House and Senate by overturning every single seat up for election to a Freshman. If he is found thru the courts, out in CA, as not being legally elligible to be president, Impeachment will not work, since he is not legally the presdent. The constitution, would make the 2008 election null and void (including “Foot In The Mouth Biden” and all legislation and any other documents and treaties also null and void. New presidental elections would need to be held.

The rest of the world is recovering faster because they are receiving monetary infusions from us (thanks again Obama) and are modeling their economies to be more like we USED to be FREEMARKET. While we are moving away from a freemarket, other countries are moving towards it. And don’t get so hung up on the statistics of the growth of the other countries. When a poor countries economy grows by 100% it may sound amazing (and you may be tempted to blame Bush), but in real growth we can match that same increased wealth with a growth of less-than 1%.
China is lecturing us on not becoming socialist because they don’t want to lose on their investment in us. China is walking the same path we did in the first half of the 20th century. They are posed become the economic powerhouse mostly due to all of the borrowing that is taking place this year for SOCIAL spending.
EES..your being naive if you think that they would not want a US leader to help run the one world government. However inexperienced Obama may be, a US leader would be needed to keep the sheep (like yourself) calm on the way to the slaughter. They would need a puppet to stand behind so the ignorant masses would say, “he’s one of us, he’s not going to let anything bad happen to us, lets just go along with what he’s asking”.

OBAMA & SOROS: AMERICAN NIGHTMARES
Obama, who he is, what he’s done, and why his election as President would be bad for America. Recently, I noted that Obama — in terms of finances — is largely a wholly owned subsidiary of George Soros, billionaire founder of Moveon.org and a full-time “Amerika-hater.”
In all his empty rhetoric about bringing the country together and “reaching across the aisle” to Republicans, Obama neglects to mention that his political stands allow for no real compromises. Yes, he will occasionally work with Republicans on non-controversial issues, but on anything of true significance, he will function as a militant leftist.
This is another wonderful read.
He’s for one world government putting us under the jurisdiction of the UN. So much of what he wants to do, his policies, are unconstitutional. We have a Congress run by his cronies who give him everything he wants. If you can’t see the direction this country is going, your eyes are not wide open, unfortunately. If you were a true Republican, you would come up with some answers instead of constantly bashing them. What do you see lies ahead with the current Administration? You haven’t said anything about it.
Why bash something you believe in.

Have you forgotten that government already owns most of the large banks, the car companies, controlling private companies salaries & will “own” all the National Parks? By your statement, it’s apparent you’re ignorant of history! Tyranny is not built upon a thriving republic, but only by its destruction. A free nation has to be destroyed before tyranny can thrive. Just like remodeling a house, you have to destroy it before you can build it like you want it! This is what Obama has to gain: by bringing down the infrastructure & by destroying the dollar, it lays the foundation for him to rebuild the nation “in his own image”. When people lose hope & become desperate, they’re easier to control. When people have nowhere to turn but the government, then the government has control over the people (Tyranny) instead of the people having control over the government (Liberty). If you don’t believe that this can happen in this country & that this is just paranoia or conspiracy theory, then perhaps you should pick up a book & read how once “free” nations have lost their freedom! We are so close to this now, it’s frightening.
In just 8 months, this administration has already turned this wonderful, capitalist, free country upside down. How much more do you think he can destroy by the 2010 election one year from now? We can’t wait until 2010 to correct this horrible mistake. By then, if he continues with his Marxist takeover with the lightening fast speed he’s unconstitutionally done everything else, we won’t have an election!
Why in the world anyone would want to turn a country that everyone is envious of & risk their lives to come here, into the place they are trying to escape! It doesn’t make any sense to my SANE mind. Anyone that wants to go where he is taking us needs serious mental help. I’m not being facetious, I’m as serious as anyone could be. If you WANT the government to have power over you, they you have no confidence in yourself as an individual & should seek help! As I began writing this, that “so-called president” was on my TV (on Fox News) AGAIN (still doing the only thing he knows HOW to do…campaign), telling more lies to more airheads that still believe he’s a “good man” despite his radical views! WHAT? By whose standards – satan’s? He’s ALWAYS on my TV! On the lighter side of my more serious, previous comment – I’m so sick of seeing him I could cry, scream or just puke! I’ve seen HIM more than ALL the presidents in my lifetime…combined! Just like his SPENDING that’s been M0RE than all the presidents…combined! Then he has the audacity to STILL blame all the spending & deficit on Bush!

I’m a middle aged (or was at the time) widow whose husband died 7 years, 4 months ago & had no insurance. I’ve been self employed as an independent real estate title abstractor for 16 years & at the time he died, my business was at its slowest. I was left to “fend for myself” at the worst possible time! Last year was my best year in a LONG time (which is still living on the edge of poverty) & despite being SO against Obama & the stimulus package, I honestly THOUGHT my business would be “BOOMING” when we were TOLD that the ‘stimulus’ was supposed to help people refinance the homes that were about to go into foreclosure & “stimulate” the economy. Well, guess what! My business is slower right now than it’s been in YEARS. And guess what else! The majority of the business I DO get is FORECLOSURES! This dishonest administration didn’t want to ‘help people keep their homes’ or I’d have more business than I could do. Another “LIE”! They don’t CARE if everyone has health care or care about correcting the “climate change” farse (instead of ‘Global Warming’ since the earth’s temperature has dropped & screwed up their other “BIG LIE” -Al Gore is an embarrassment to my great state of TN. I met him when he was running for the Senate YEARS ago & he was an idiot then, too) or become “energy independent’! It’s ALL about the power to “fundamentally transform” this country, period, just like Obama said he’d do, but ignored by half the country!

He has inspired me to read, research & learn from history. I watch his show twice a day & take notes. After his show, I’m mentally & physically exhausted & angrier every day! He’s made me aware of what I suspected but didn’t know how it all fit together. Everything he says, he proves with these radicals’ own recorded words & still some call Glenn a nut job!
I have sweet neighbors, but they’re so unconcerned it makes me crazy & one is a conservative teacher. I’ve begged them to watch Fox & Glenn, but they continue to watch CNN & other “Obama-worshipping propaganda” networks. The frustrating thing for me is that all MY Tennessee representatives vote my views 98% of the time. Everyone wants to get rid of all the incumbents, but I don’t want to cut my nose off to spite my face! I had an “ax to grind” with Lamar Alexander when he voted to confirm racist, Sonia Sotomayor & I “ground his ax”, but other than that, he, Bob Corker & Zack Wamp voted “nay” to confirming Cass Sunstein, “nay” to the unnecessary “hate crimes” bill (even tho it made them vote against the Defense Bill it was attached to)! That’s another discussion – we need to make Congress vote for bills SEPARATELY, NOT “bills rolled into a big unconstitutional ball”!
I was supposed to be at the http://www.teapartynation.com “One Year Notice Protest” in Nashville, TN today with my son & his wife, but was unable to go (3 hours away for me). My local Chattanooga Tea Party & other cities across the state joined forces to have a BIG protest in Nashville so they could be “ignored by the White House” again! I just pray that the protesters aren’t getting discouraged by their voices being dismissed by the Marxist idiots that have no clue what “grassroots” even is!

Hard work is what got us to this position. I haven’t gotten a damn thing from my government ever! I have been a tax paying, Republican all my adult life and thought I belonged to a fiscally responsible party. My error. If you think that keeping the same Congressmen in power who caused this mess, is the smart thing, then grab you butt and sign over all your assets to the Corporate Raiders who are controling this country. The Fed Reserve, who was headed by the Republicans, from Goldman Sach (look at the history) have let the markets run free with no restraints and this is what we have. I don’t even believe we should have a Fed, but some people love it as they can manipulate it to their advantage.Presently we have the exact situation that Thomas Jefferson warned us about. The Banks own and control everything, including our Congressmen. Even Alan Greenspan admitted that thinking the banks would monitor and restrain themselves from corruption and greed, was an illogical theory. This situation has been building since the 1980′s and we failed to learn from the Savings and Loan debacle. Which cost us 124.6 billion. 747 institutions had to be saved by Bush Sr. The industry was deregulated and it cost 124.6 billion. We just don’t learn, we don’t want to look back at our mistakes and analyze what went wrong, we just blindly make the same mistakes over and over again. It is so ironic that the year (1999) that we finally paid off the Savings and Loan debt, we then deregulated the Banking and Investment industry. Problem made worse as it affected our stock market worse than the piddlely Saving and Loan did. Go, figure, get those blinders on and let’s blame anyone but ourselves as we can’t find anything that we were wrong about.

Some regulation is required, as men cannot control greed, and they sure can’t hold themselves to a standard of restraint required to avoid corruption.A great example of self monitoring is our present situation. Banking Industry performed with self requlating restraint and kept itself in check, hardly. Maybe you could poll the other countries who were drawn into our mess and see what they think of our self controling market? You are a Libertarian and you can’t accept the fact that a free running market failed and almost put us into a depression. This whole situation ruins the whole Libertarian philosophy of free markets. Facts provide for logical premises or occurances which reason is derived from. I have never stated that I wanted government to give money to others, you are assuming that because you think I am a liberal. I am a pissed off Republican who can state that my party did not have a fiscally responsible moment during the 12 years they had conrol of Congress.
I want to take a second to point to a positive thing between us EYES… I am a registered Repub and like you I’m PISSED off at what the party has become. They have become what the Dems used to be and the DEMs have become progressive (which is decidedly worse).

While we also agree that our free-market system is failing. I disagree that it is the system and instead point to the people in it. Rodthe other, I have spent the past two hours researching info on the deregulation in 1999, and I have decided that I am wrong. I however do stand by the belief that the Savings and LOan crisis was caused by the deregulation in the 80′s. I believe in a free market, however, I don’t believe in the concept of too big to fail. I understand why we had to bailout the banks, but I don’t see how they will prevent another occurance of the same exact situation. My mind can’t even wrap around the fact that the market took years to get past the 10,000 mark, drops to 6800 and then within a year is back up to 10k. This has got to be bogus profits and is setting us up for another bubble which of course will burst, once again leaving us holding the gift bag. I do know that the corporate subsidies and our entitlement programs are adding to the financial mess but I was not able to find recommendations on how to prevent the same crisis in the near future. Can you recommend any sites? The Cato Institute only refuted the causes didn’t give it’s opinion on what caused it.
EYESWIDE OPEN…I don’t completely disagree that the deregulation was a part of the S&L debaucle…but that was a nasty web of contributing factors and I think it would take a REAL SHARP UNBIASED forensic auditor to put a fine point on ranking the contributing factors. But I believe the main catalist to the crisis was once again lowering of the lending & accounting critieria to allow for less credit worthy individuals to get loans, as outlined by the CDA / CRA, and less stringent accounting principles leading to over-valued assets (can you say derivatives?).
The agency that was at the forefront was American Thrifts (an organization that is akin to ACORN). They beleived they were more of an agent of social reform and caused a lot of volatility in the lending market. That volatiltiy lead to a lot of hanky-panky in accounting. When the market was deregulated it exposed the finacial weakness of these institutions. The intent of the deregulation was to allow (or force depending on your economic viewpoint) these institutions to “grow” out of their problem by way of market demand. But the results (unintended consequences) was they started offering more and more risky or diluted products and instead it got more “toxic”. Property lost vaule instead of “growing into”
EYESWIDE OPEN…Degregulation was intended to counteract the effects of the risky lending practices that ensued from the CDA/CRA. Banks began to over extend themselves because of interest rate wars started by the American Thrifts. The Amercian thrifts are similar to ACORN in that they viewed themselves as more of a social reform group than a lending institution. As a result of weakened lending and accounting criteria, the American Thrifts began to “over-state” (can you say derivative) their assets so they could continue & expand their social mission. Deregulation was passes with the intent of forcing them to “grow” out of their problem by continuing the increasing market value of their assets. It was thought that it would feed the value of housing and continue the growth. But, it actually exposed how weak the market was. Then two counteracting things happened. The American Thrifts started offering more risky products & the investors realizing that their assets were worth less than they though which they then started selling them. This caused the house market to crash and began the dominos tumbling. As usual, it was abandoning of free-market principles that harmed the free-market. American Thrifts, being a socialist organization, introduced a disease to the free-market system and extricating it was painful.
I am FULLY with you on the sentiment of too big to fail…If an organization is too big to fail then it is probably some sort of Monopoly, oligopoly, or something that is a threat to a TRUE free-market. In that case, it is too big to exist in the first place and intervention needs to happen…This is one of the VERY RARE instances the Government needs to step-in and protect its people.
I am conflicted on the bank bailouts…My initial reaction is let em fail…Some other wiser entity will pick its bones and they got what they deserved. But I have had many conversations with economists, bean counters and investors and have been talked off the ledge on this one. I finally arrived at, the banks that recieved bailout money should be ran business as usual (compete fairly with other banks), but all of their profits are to first and foremost be directed back to the US tax payer…no room for negotiation! It needs to be so painful that they never want to do it again!
The stock market is in flux right now…I’ve talk to many people on this and the most informed person has an opinion, back with quantificaton, that the market should be around 8,500 give or take. The market dropped to 6,500 because investors are scared that Obama is going to take their Capital gains or just break contract law again. If you take a close look at the businesses being invested in, most of them ARE NOT UNION. The market is up right now due to short term investing, people figure that Obama is being held up by the “party of NO” and isn’t going to get much done this year. Take a look, everytime Obama fails at pushing something the market rallys. If the bubble does burst, it will be because Obama got something like healthcare or CAP&TAX through.

Rod, I have been reviewing the government spending web site. From 1992 to 2000 the welfare spending went from 220.06 billion to 267.66 and increase of 47.60 billion, During time frame of 2000 to 2008, it went from 267.88 to 477.25 an increase of 209.59 billion. This is the reason why I cannot believe that Republicans can actually critize or accuse others of being socialists. What in the hell happened when Bush took control? We went wild. The bottom line of all this debating is that Government screws up most everything that it gets involved with. If Big Government was the solution, then why are we in the mess we’re in now? It sure couldn’t be much more involved than it already is.
It is so clear to me. I can’t understand why others can’t see. For every new government employee we create, we lose someone from the private sector. In the private sector people create goods or provide services to those who voluntarily contract to receive them. In the government sector people not only don’t create anything, but they actively hamper those that are trying to. I call that negatively productive.
As far as regulations go, the best regulator of all is the consumer. They actually have skin in the game. The government takes its skin from others. They have a vested interest in ever more regulations that give them more money and power. They (the leaders) are making fools out of most of the population. Anybody who isn’t blindly partisan can see that.
The left worries about greed and corruption at the business level but they turn a blind eye to the greed and corruption at the government level. People are greedy in all walks of life. It isn’t just the rich that are greedy, the poor are greedy too. They want to take the money of others for their own with no thought whatsoever of how hard those others might have worked for their money. Many older people have lost their life savings because Government coerced banks to lend to unworthy borrowers who precipitated the banking collapse. Yes, the banks should have made more of an effort to resist. And no, they shouldn’t have been bailed out. But now many more old people stand to lose their life savings (in cash accounts) as the dollar becomes worth less and less due to excessive government spending. Do the greedy handout-seekers care? It’s doubtful; they are too focused on that trough.
We are going to continue being in turmoil in this country as long as people think the ‘one size fits all’ approach of Big Government is the solution. A large portion of the population will always be unhappy no matter which ideology is in power. I don’t care if the right or the left is in power; we are going to continue in turmoil until people realize that Big Government is the Problem not the Solution.

EYES…Make no mistake, that social spending is a BIG part of the reason that I no longer call my self a Repub and instead call my self a Conservative. There is no excuse for the increased spending under Bush. A massive part of that increase went to ILLEGAL ALIENS…The ILLEGAL population more than doubled in the 10 years or so, and Bush sought to give them all anesty….Who knows, he may have had some residual coke in his nose, and a belly full of booze that drained slowly…This spendig is a major part of why I think Bush was not only a poor President, but not really a Repub and a traitor to the party…BUT HE’S STILL BETTER THAN OBAMA! The things he screwed-up can be fixed…the things OBAMA is fixing to screw up will be forever, barring an armed violent revolt!
But, don’t be fooled by the numbers alone, they are skewed. In the later half of the 90′s the welfare to work program saw a decline in the welfare payments. That program was pushed by the Repubs under Gingrich’ leadership and Clinton was dragged kicking and screaming to it. In the last 8 years or so the Dems have done a lot to dismantle it. If fact the state of California NEVER fully implemented it which is why our social spending of so out of control and the state is near collapse. ALSO, OBAMA signed on executive order in his first few months in office ending it…SO watch and see it sky-rocket now!

DaveH I understand your caution against being rash. But, out here in California we have a republican party that actively sought to raise the taxes, but knowing it would cause problems at the voting booth, they “selected” who in the party that would offer the fianl 3 votes to pass the new taxes.
The dems needed 3 votes to get it passes. The Repubs had all signed a “no new taxes” pledge. I think the reubs though it politically expedient to give the 3 votes that would pass the taxes and let the Dems suffer for it later.
The bigger problem here is, is that the party faithful are willing to play games with OUR lives in order to further the party.
The only solution the way I see it is to not let ANY politician spend enough time in office to be able to gain the inside knowledge that will allow them to “GAME” to system. ANY incumbent should be purged this time around…and we should impose a STRICT 2 term limit…
The Government is supposed to be, “of the people, by the people, for the people”. To allow for career politicians is to allow that belief to be minimize and eventually eradicated…Like it is today.

Ron acted just like all the other incumbents and Dave doesn’t want him to lose his seat, as Ron, is actually a Libertarian in Republican clothes. I agree, vote them all out. We definately need some younger representatives who know what it is like to not be a millionaire and only get an average increase in their salaries of 3.8% a year for ten years.

But first let me say, that I am a very good reader, with excellent comprehension.
I respectfully disagree that a politician needs to identify with the people. What I think politician needs to due is understand that the Constituion is the finest document ever written and that it needs to be adhered to as much as humanly possible. It is impossible to relate to everyone in the system, someone will get shorted by politicians trying to please everyone. The only way to go about Governing in accordance with the Constitution is to minimize Governmental intrusion. If our Government was run more akin to a sport, we would have a much better outcome. The rules need to be applied evenly and equally. No rule shoud seek to take from one because the other does have.
Take a look at football…A lineman will never be as successful a running back as someone that has the inherent skills of a running back and vise-versa. To impose rules that say, “well the running back doesn’t have the size of a lineman, but he’s still going to play the line and when he touches the running back, the running back just has to fall down to make it fair”. doing so would crush the quality of the game, but this is the kind of “leveling the playing field” that Obama is seeking.

Unfortunately, after repeated attempts to twist your words, put words in your mouth, or call you an idiot, you will lose that civility once in awhile. Ok, how do you propose to reduce the government spending? When someone like Ron Paul took the 75 million in earmarks, it confirmed that every single one of them in office have given up their ethics, political beliefs and can be bought with money, as their main goal is to stay in power (office). How can you stop the needs of the states and the efforts of the Congressmen to supply those needs? It is impossible to change the way we do business until we turn over the old guard. How can you get the people to accept a lower standard of living due to not getting federal assistance?

The Constitution state that those powers that are not granted by the Constitution remain with the states. While congress did give itself the power to tax through a constitutional amendment. The underlying principle of the Constitution is to come together to from a united defense against foreign threat. To that end, I think we stop all the FEDERAL spending by making the FEDERAL Gov. live within the constraint that the only monies they can confiscated and therefore spend are limited to those monies which are spent on a united defense, national disaster relief, or things that are for the protection of the inhabitants of all states (there’s a lot to cover here, so I am broad-brushing). Governmental is supposed to be strongest where it is closest to the people it affects. The chain of power should go Local Gov, County Gv, State Gov, and THEN FEDERAL GOV. Right now that is all upside down and the FED is the most powerful. This would end earmarks and return the power to the rightful owners…The people. Beleive it or not, this would raise the standard of living for ALL those that aren’t looking to the Government for an entitlement payment.
Also, I am not defending Ron Paul but it’s one of those things…how long can you stand in the rain leaning against your ethics while watching all the pigs at the trough eat & eat until there is no food left? At some point you are cutting your nose off to spite your face if you don’t take some yourself…It is a SICK reality. And that’s why we have to stop them because they can’t stop themselves. Drug addicts don’t stop willingly, someone has to step in.

I have lost faith in the ETHICS of pretty much ALL politicians. I saw a study just a few months ago that was done by a panel of phycologists. It concluded that the personality traits of a politician are EXACTLY the same traits of a SERIAL KILLER…Comforting isn’t it. A politician can look you straight in the face and lie to you about “that’s not my hand on the knife in your back”…”uh, I was pulling it out, even though it feels like I’k pushing it deeper”. The power needs to be returned to the people.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 30% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-nine percent (39%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9 (see trends).
Fifteen percent (15%) say that Congress is doing a good or an excellent job while 53% rate Congressional performance as poor. Sixty-two percent (62%) believe that Congress pays more attention to the media than to voters.

Hannity is a commentator that has respectful debates with those of opposing views. At least he allows for others to have opinions that don’t agree with him. Bob Beckle is one of his best friends and most frequent guests.
Beck is a commentator and had just as much to say about Bush. What don’t you understand that the media is supposed to be our agent for aggresive and insightful questioning of the Government. You’d rather take the Alinski approach because he’s not drinking the same punch as you.
O’Rielly I see nothing unfair about his coverage of Obama (but I have seen him be onesided when it comes to pot). He is asking questions that need to be answered. Surely the “most transparent president in history” can answer a few critical question? Rod, I do remember when the media was a watch dog – I miss those days…when we didn’t know what the journalist were thinking but did know the news they actually reported. It’s very sad. And I started to watch FOX when the other news channels really stopped reporting the news during the early days of the wars and began more of a “yellow journalism” style. Having two Army kids (now serving in Afghanistan) made me want to get what I felt to be more accurate news reporting and yes, I know there are those that would disagree with me…and that’s their prerogative.
I just started watching the news again this past year, mainly out of concern for our country. For too many years, news has been full of negative reporting or mis-information. All to often celebrities get all of the press, mostly negative.
I was really impressed with Obamas early campaign speeches until a close friend said something that opened my eyes to check out Obama’s background. I was stunned, and started to realize what he said and what he will do might not be the same. I know now that I am right.
All of the dots are connected and two names are joined together at the end. Obama and Soros. No matter where I look on the internet, the answers point to the beliefs and ideals of these two men.
I have watched CNN, MSNBC, and FOX regularly for almost a year. MSNBC is far left, CNN is left and FOX is on the conservative right.
FOX will beat the other two when it comes to reporting threats to our freedom and isn’t fearful of crossing the line and telling their audience the facts, sometimes with a right spin, plain and simple. MSNBC never heard of a threat on American freedom and CNN might hit the edges once in awhile.
During the campaign, Fox News commentators tried to warn us about the people who surrounded Obama as well as the Chicago politics he came out of. They played clips of Reverend Wright of whose church Obama was a member for 20 years. Listening to the words of that preacher was chilling.
One of his friends/acquaintances was Bill Ayres, the home grown terrorist and now university professor. Obama claimed he barely knew Ayres. But Ayres is now claiming he actually wrote Obama’s book, so they obviously knew each other better than Obama claims.
American Citizen, so many voters were mesmerized by all of the slick promises(lies) and empty rhetoric and put their trust in this man without ever knowing who he was or what or who he really represents.
Thanks mainly goes to FOX and to posts on the internet like the Personal Liberty Digest there is much more to discover. Watching the news, CNN, MSNBC and FOX present extroardinary differances in how the MSM presents the political news. Mostly, those reports are based on who they have decided to bed down with.
I fear for Glenn Beck. He is a brave man. Evil people do not like being discovered and they are capable of anything. I was married to one at one time, and another is a sibling of mine, so I have personal experience with those kind.
DaveH, the thought process of our representatives has never been clearer than now. America has always been considered a leader of the free world. Americans have always cherished their freedom. Freedom in America has been eroding as more and more people become wholly dependent for governments support. This administration has taken advantage of the weakest and promised an “equal distribution” of wealth. Government run Health Care is the “Feature Presentation” to our loss of freedom and a complete intrusive government takeover of our freedoms and our lives, and is uconstitutional. This administration’s intent is to ignore the Constitution as it only stands in the way of their goals of “fundamental change”.
Our only hope is to keep the pressure on our representatives and don’t give up. In the end, I hope that, we can all make a differance and make our forefathers proud of their accomplishments.

If you can listen and/or watch Hannity and Beck and think that they are not biased to the right, then you are blind or deaf or both. I’ve listened for hours to Hannity. He hates Obama and has hated every thing he’s said since long before the last election. There is a question that is not addressed in the polls. It is this: WHY is Obama personally popular? He has absolutely nothing to recommend him as an admirable human being. Refering to the POTUS as a liar may be offensive to some. However, that didn’t stop Time magazine or members of Congress during the previous administration.

What would happen if any other political party pushed for a cap and trade bill that could create green jobs of which 9 out of 10 created would be unsustainable, require government subsidizing and cost the nations economy millions of real jobs? And this is not to mention the increase in manufacturing costs that would be passed on to us in time of depression.
No matter if you are a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian or an Independent, what do you think is going to happen when the government revenues are down and spending is quadrupled? As one senator from Florida was categorized as, “One must be a fry short of a happy meal” to believe that wiping out the U.S. dollar and reducing the purchasing power of our salaries and retirement savings is a good thing.
How do you think the media or yourself would react if the republicans were the majority party and were negotiating behind closed doors on a republican senator’s proposal to overhaul one of our economy’s largest industries, especially when it hasn’t been written yet? On an almost straight party-line vote, Democrats in the Senate Finance Committee squashed an amendment by Senator Jim Bunning that would have required the Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed and the Baucus healthcare or “rob our children and their children bill” to be posted on the Internet for all Americans to read for 72 hours prior to the Committee voting on it.
There are Republicans who should be voted out of office as well. They are the ones who didn’t listen to the American people and under the veil of “negotiations,” kept the “rob our children and their children” bill scheme to socialize the nation’s health care system alive. And those are not the only ones. Every politician who allowed the Federal Reserve to loan two trillion dollars without knowing to whom, for what or the disclosure of terms should be investigated, made accountable for their irresponsibility and thrown out of office as well. Sleeping on the job is no excuse.
The Federal Reserve has no real oversight and it’s time for these politicians to get the message loud and clear. We need to learn from our past mistakes and before voting, find out the candidate’s passed association’s, voting record, speeches made and most importantly, don’t let the progressives in the media or celebrities who receive bribes from the likes of George Soros brain wash you. Just using the numbers provided by the Government:
If we have 300mil people in this country and 250mil currently have insurance. The aim is to provide insurance to 50mil more people…
That is a 20% increase in demand on the health care system.
To achieve health care for all that doesn’t increase the overall costs, we would need to achieve a 20% reduction in current cost (over the 250mil currently insured) to be able to add them to the “pool of demand”. That is a very large order to fill and the likelihood of achieving it is on the level of “miracle”.
But, let suppose we did achieve the 20% savings and from a cost perspective we can now increase the “pool of demand” by 20%. Unless we also increase the “pool of supply” (which contains things like hospitals, doctors, nurses, medications…etc) rationing is the only way to acheive cost neutrality. If someone says, “well lets add resources to the “pool of supply” the cost will have to go up and we will all now be paying more for our healthcare.
One of our dear leaders tricks for reducing the cost is to limit the amount that DRs can charge for their services. Once that happens, you will shrink the “pool of DRs” because who is going to take loans to pay for all of the schooling to become a DR if it is going to take most of your workiong life to pay off the loans you’ve incurred? you’d be better off working at the DMV.
I would like to hear your ideas on how to save the Medicare system. Since it will be broke in 2016, I really would like some honest input on how to stop the 8 major Insurance Companies from bankrupting the program. I know it is government run healthcare, but every Republican I know, likes it and wants to keep,it. While preventing others from having it, lol. I think we should cancel it and refund monies, let everyone fend for themselves. Have the government reduce our taxes by the amount we have already paid and let everyone get their own healtcare. We either have to fix it, or cancel it. What is your opinion?
