Alternative breast cancer treatment tested

June 30, 2009 by Personal Liberty News Desk

Cancer patients may soon have a new treatment option to choose from if ongoing studies prove the usefulness of light therapy technology in treating breast cancer.

Media sources report that one London hospital is pioneering photodynamic or light therapy to destroy cancerous breast cancer cells. The patient receives light-sensitive drugs at the tumor site and a directed beam subsequently destroys the cells.

With this method, surrounding tissue is left undamaged and the patient does not have to go through invasive surgery or chemotherapy.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the tumor cells die because they are starved of oxygen, rather than blasted with extremely strong drugs.

Cancer surgeon Mo Keshtgar is conducting the trials at London’s Royal Free Hospital and he described the technology’s benefits to the news provider.

"The key appeal of photodynamic therapy is that it attacks and destroys cancer cells while retaining the viability of the surrounding normal cells, "he said.

"Out treatment will keep the structure of the connective tissue intact meaning the breast does not become deformed or lose shape," he added, providing hope for breast cancer patients who are fearful of a mastectomy. ADNFCR-1961-ID-19244345-ADNFCR

I took the poll on who was responsible for our national debt problem and it seems that 85% of the 400,000 some voters felt Obama was not a good choice. Too bad the rest of the country can’t see it yet. Can this many people be wrong? I doubt it. More like just more aware of the undercurrents of this corrupt government and not your average “sheeple.”

Any one with breast cancer should know the data on vitamin D, it was the highlight of last years ASCO (American Society Clinical Oncologists) Women with breast cancer and high vitamin D levels did massively better than those with low levels. Amazing it received so little coverage. Those with breast cancer should look at http://www.vitaminD3world.com under the tab Cancer Treatment. While we are on the subject there is also very good evidence that hight levels of vitamin D protect against getting breast cancer in the first place
