Let’s Throw This Rascal Out

July 23, 2010 by Chip Wood

Let’s Throw This Rascal Out

If there were any liberal Democrats in the crowd that filled Bally’s Convention Center two weeks ago, they kept a very low profile. Because from the opening bell, the 2,000-plus people attending this year’s FreedomFest crowd made it clear what they wanted: less government, less spending, lower taxes, fewer bureaucrats and no deficits.

And they also want every incumbent running for office defeated this year… with the possible exception of Ron Paul.

In short, this group wants change. And they were ready to applaud like mad for anyone who promised it. Even the mildest of anti-Obama jokes had them laughing and cheering.

“President Obama says if he weren’t president, he’d be buying stocks,” I reminded them. “To which I say; if you weren’t president, I’d be buying stocks, too, Mr. President.” The crowd roared.

For the seventh consecutive year I served as Master of Ceremonies for “the world’s largest gathering of free minds,” which means I got to introduce our keynote speakers, numerous panelists and the opponents in several heated debates.

Things got off to a lively start the very first morning. I told the audience that, “When I sat on Santa Claus’s lap last December, I told him there were only two things I wanted this year. First, could you please demote Nancy Pelosi? I want a new majority leader in the House of Representatives!” The crowd stomped and cheered.

“For my second gift, Santa, would you please retire Harry Reid from the U.S. Senate?” More loud cheers and applause.

Then I said, “Ladies and gentlemen, permit me to introduce the feisty young grandmother who is going to make my second wish come true. Please join me in welcoming Harry Reid’s opponent in this November’s election for the U.S. Senate in Nevada, Mrs. Sharron Angle.”

I don’t think Sarah Palin would have gotten a bigger welcome had the hall been hosting a Tea Party convention. The crowd was loudly and enthusiastically ready for change in Nevada’s Senate seat. And they made it clear they hoped Sharron Angle would be it.

I’m proud to say that even before she left the stage I made the very first contribution to the “Angle for Senate” campaign that day. But I was far from alone. Her campaign manager told me later that they received more than $60,000 in contributions while she was there.

Frankly, they’re going to need every penny of it—and a whole lot more. Reid has boasted that he already has more than $10 million in his campaign coffers… and he expects to raise at least $15 million more. If there’s one seat the Democrats are determined not to lose this year it is Reid’s in Nevada. (If you’d like to help retire the Silver State’s senior senator, go to www.SharronAngle.com and send her a contribution yourself.)

The very next day, the White House announced that President Obama was flying to Las Vegas for a special campaign appearance on behalf of his beleaguered Senate majority leader. Those of us at FreedomFest probably wouldn’t have known anything about it, except for one thing: Because of security considerations, the Las Vegas airport and all the airspace in a 20-mile radius was closed for most of the afternoon to all traffic except Air Force One.

Obama couldn’t have known (and probably wouldn’t have cared if he did) that as a result, our final speaker of the day was not allowed to land. We had invited Greg Mortenson, author of the runaway best-seller Three Cups of Tea, to tell us about his experiences building schools for impoverished children, mostly young girls, in Afghanistan and Pakistan. His plane circled the area for nearly two hours before it was allowed to land 90 miles away.

We quickly shuffled the schedule so he would be the first speaker the next morning. The hall was packed when he strode to the podium at 8:00 am. And 2,000 people listened with breathless fascination as he showed photographs and told stories of the work he had done, the friends he had made, the lives he had changed, and the threats he had faced.

Let me pause for a moment to insert a promotion here for Greg Mortenson’s talk and books. Three Cups of Tea has been on the best-seller lists for the past three years, so it’s easy to find at any bookstore or Amazon.com. While you’re there, also order his new one, Stones into Schools. You’ll be deeply moved by both. For a DVD of his talk at FreedomFest, as well as CDs or MP3s of the 162 other speakers who appeared this year, go to www.freedomfest.com.

I don’t know how many other people were affected by the closure of McCarran Airport for several hours that day. But as it turned out, we got the last laugh from it. At our closing banquet on Saturday I was able to tell the crowd that yes, they could finally go home: “President Obama has left the city and the airport is open again.” That got some mild applause and laughter.

Then I added, “By the way, the latest polls have just come out. They confirm that President Obama’s appearance here cost Harry Reid 14,500 votes!” Then I concluded, “So please come back and campaign some more, Mr. President. But please wait until we’ve left town.” The crowd hooted and howled. As I said before, this was a group ready for change.

Speaking of change, check out the first item in my Chip Shots column at the bottom of today’s Personal Liberty Alerts™. Another politician in Nevada who is trying to distance himself from Harry Reid seems to be his own son.

By the way, I had an epiphany of sorts during this year’s FreedomFest. I realized that I’ve been wasting a lot of time over the past 50 years trying to educate liberals. It finally dawned on me that is almost always a waste of time.

For all sorts of reasons—liberal guilt, indoctrination in school, a vested interest in government largess, whatever; there are a whole lot of people out there who aren’t going to change their minds, no matter how many facts we put in front of them.

No, let’s forget about persuading the left that we’re right. It isn’t going to happen.

Instead, let’s look for people of principle who have not been politically active before—and let’s them energized and activated to throw the rascals out.

Sound difficult? It’s not. Select a friend or neighbor whom you know is a person of good character. Share your concern about what’s happening to the country you love. Ask if they are also alarmed by runaway spending, exploding deficits, rising taxes, and other aspect of growing government.

If they agree with you—and I’m betting the majority of them will—ask them to work with you to help make a difference. Find people running for office you think you can trust. Give them the support they need to get elected.

And once they win, keep your eye on them. Make sure they vote the way they promised. Support them when they’re right. Argue with them when they’re wrong.

And if you get too little of the former and too much of the latter, go to work to replace them. Remember, every election matters. Victory isn’t going to come from the White House down; it’s going to come from local communities up. That’s how we won our freedom in the first place; it’s how we’re going to restore it now.

Resolve that this year you’re going to help make a difference. Then, find a few people who agree with you. Repeat this often enough, in enough places, and it will happen. Believe it.

Until next time, keep some powder dry.

When Elvis was alive, fans used to hear ‘Elvis has left the building’ if they stayed around long enough. He was very talented, and his fans adored him. He could sing. He could go through the motions of playing a guitar. He wasn’t afraid to give of himself to others.
Elvis’ diametic opposite, The Anointed One, is a no-talent puppet. His ‘fans’ are either braindead, or they have sold their souls. The Anointed One can’t sing. He wouldn’t know a guitar string from a pig’s butt. The Anointed One is arrogant beyond belief. As for giving, I doubt he knows the meaning of the word.
When Elvis left the building, you knew you were in the presence of someone very special. When The Anointed One leaves the White House (preferably the country), there will be a cheer from one coast to the other. God Willing, that day is very near.

You have to get spell check. The appointed one…against the WILL of the People, was put in the WH by a stacked court after threats of vioence were threatened around the country. We suffered eight years of his regime, graft and corruption were rampant, and the wealthy got richer, and we suffered. He crashed the economy, burdened us with debt, left the states flooded in red ink by unfunded mandates, and got us into two wars…niether of which he did anything but extend so his pals could get richer.

      Thank god Bush is gone.

            coal miner, Good post.

It’s worked well, too, hasn’t it. It’s too bad that there are so many who still refuse to believe it. Jut think what we could do if we were all to unite against this evil.

There are those who desire to be independent, self-sufficient, self-accountable, able to make their own choices, free to thrive (or fail), and left alone by those who would hold them captive.

Then there are those who just want to be taken care of, have guarantees that they will have their needs met whether they earn it or not, feel inadequate and helpless, resent those who are motivated and accountable, and support a system that will provide these things. They don’t even seem to mind that it costs them their freedom.

          • kate8 says:

The latter are the very ones that allow the power-hungry to thrive.
Without them, they would be powerless.

          • Denniso says:

The irony in the article about ‘freedom fest’ is that Democrats and liberals want real freedom and the conservatives want to control our lives…women’s choice, medical marijuana, freedom from the idiotic drug war, civil rights, voting rights, access to healthcare, access to decent jobs that can support a person, freedom of religion vs a state supported religion, acces to education, and more…the conservatives are clever w/ their use of catch phrases like ‘freedom’,'liberty’,'small gov’t', but it is all blatant hypocrisy.

          • Anthony says:

Well now, it’s still toooooo easy to see where Denniso butters his bread. The most famous of tactics by Progressives is to always accuse others of that which YOU are doing.

I see it didn’t take very long at all, for the Instigators to start “baitin’… this topic of discussion.

The one real truth we know in Politics and VOTING, is that those who think they never wrong seriously CANNOT HANDLE … being had by the very people they dug deep to support.

Denniso, and the others that degrade only Republicans easily out themselves as not having done their homework. And, no matter how how Bob Livingston posts Articles AND Book Reviews on this Website, those very same Progressives (you know, the group who gave us the Central Bank?) would rather run into their Spider Holes than own up to their own self-annointed ignorance.

BUT – THAT’S THEIR BUSINESS… and let them have at it.

The People who have studied up and learned the truth of it, should simply not respond. You’re better off, folks.

As for the FreedomFest Crowd – I hope they’re out there going from backyard fence to backyard fence, spreading the work like back in the old days before TV became a tool of distraction.

I would ask Denniso how HE explains ISRAEL and the USS LIBERTY when LBJ was President in 1967… Let’s see the smarta$$ answer on that score.. because the TRUTH IS, it don’t mean a hill o’ beans to invest ‘any’ energy in the Leftist/Rightwing nonsense – The Money Masters could care less. Denniso doesn’t have $25-billion, so he’s like the rest of who get on here… He’s everyone else, no matter what he does.

It’s like this – The Bilderbergers call “everyone else” .. the UN-WASHED.

Take a bath, will ya, Denniso….Lot of good it’ll do ya!

These would include the following but not limmited too the following, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Regan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Barry Soetoro. Its not about Democrat & Rebublican for God sake wake up you lacking gray matter flat headed buffoon.
If you were even a slight bit as smart as you think you are you would be asking why Barry Soetoro is even the president, after all he has {16 Social Security} numbers, there is no record of a legal name change in the US Court system just these two factors alone make everything you post make you look like a total idiot.

Can you grasp the concept of the crap you prech within the confines of your post daily, or are you part of the problem?

It’s the same thing that happens in various religious organizations and cults (well, I guess liberalism is a cult), the very groups they hold in such disdain. They accept the dogma without question, do not look outside their box (for fear of having their world shaken), and will fight to the death anyone who tries to pull back the curtain.

This is how the NWO has risen. Without these sheep (goats?), they would not have a chance of conquering a free people.

And, why do Bruce and Kate and Beb have to demean someone who they disagree with? FYI…god is never capitalized unless referring to one’s own belief system with anothr sharing that belief system. If there is only one god, then why did God supposedly say in one of the commandments,’have no other gods before me’?? The God of the old testament was one of many gods, that’s why. So, where did the others go, between the old testament and the new?

          • rwnut says:

Dennoso…In one sentence you make Him Supreme(God),in the rest of the sentence you make Him inferior(gods)You cannot lump God, with gods. There are many gods in the world. Anything can be a god. There can only be one Almighty God.Those gods are still here doing battle with good.A spiritual battle between good and evil. God simply asks, which one will you serve?

          • Denniso says:

For the most of man’s time on earth,a couple million yrs,he believed in multiple gods,as the Jews who wrote the old testament did…not gods like greed or lust, but supernatural gods who controlled nature and life. It made some sense because man was so primitive and lacking in real knowledge about life and the universe and they needed to ascribe to different deities the powers and forces they saw affecting their lives. Of course,as we progress in knowledge and science we discover that they were wrong…there are no gods. We now know how much of the world and universe actually work and have no need for gods or God as primitive man did, including the Jews and early Christians. The great irony is that as we have become more knowledgeable about science in the past few hundred yrs,we see the ‘true believers’ refusing to follow knowledge and become even more stuck in the ancient beliefs and myths and hold to the increasingly apparent foolishness of man’s dark and ignorant past.

Early Man had a need for Gods, and then God, to explain the mysteries and fears of life and the world…that time has passed and we all now have the capacity to understand the world so we don’t have to live in fear and darkness.

          • Beberoni says:

Denniso, you are gravely mistaken. The Jew that wrote the old Testament, did not believe in different gods. They believed in one God, as the scriptures they wrote were breathed by God to them to write. The people they encounter worshiped many gods, and they even had branches of their own kind worship false gods. But the writers were all under one God, who breathed the scriptures through them. And it goes to show you how dumb us humans are, you and I alike, that the wisest man in the world, Solomon, disobeyed God and kept some of the foreign women for himself, when he was ordered to kill everyone, man woman and child of these heathen nations they conquered, but he kept some of the women, and allowed them to keep their idols and false gods, and it ended up costing him everything. This is where the muslim and other false religions spawned from, because the wisest man in the world didnt listen. This is how fallen we are as men and women.

          • Denniso says:

So, if Solomon had done the bidding of God and slaughtered all the ‘foreign’ women then we would only have one true religion? Let me guess…Christianity? Beb, that’s a little simplistic and not very Jesus like as to loving your enemies. Jesus, after all, doesn’t like killing. The old testament is filled w/ murder and slaughter and incest and rape…it bears no resemblance to the words of Jesus. The two are utterly incompatible and the Old should not be taken as a part of ‘Christianity’.

When I was a young Christian and trying to figure out why most religions denounced the others and claimed to be the only ‘true’ religion, I finally realized that if they were all saying the others are wrong, then it was likely that ALL of them are wrong.

          • Beberoni says:

Yes denniso, that is correct. And when Jesus Christ comes again to judge the living and the dead, all those with Him are with Him, and all those against Him, will be thrown into the lake of fire forever. That includes your Buddhists, your Muslims and any other religion that does not recognize Jesus Christ as God in the flesh. The One who came down from heaven, made Himself into the flesh, and suffered a horrendous death to atone for OUR sins, and rose again the third day in fulfillment of the scriptures. Yes, I mean exactly that. In the end thats all there will be, is Christians. You got it right.

          • Denniso says:

That’s quite the compassionate view of the teachings of Jesus you have. I’m afraid you are holding on to the religion of the old testament, which is NOT Christianity, and ignoring the lessons that Jesus taught…love, compassion, non violence, all sorely missing from the old testament. Jesus never said that if people didn’t follow him specifically that they were condemned to hell, which is a fiction anyway. Millions of atheists,Budhists,Hindus,Muslims and pagans live good, helping lives and are not condemned to anything like Hell.

You haven’t figured out that Heaven and Hell are what we encounter here on earth? There is no other worldly place for ‘souls’ to go. We make and are part of those places right here, every day. The rest is a myth for children.

Thank gawd that Bush is gone, indeed. The world was tired of his lies, fear-mongering, and trumped-up wars. The free-thinking people of America were tired of his assault on their personal rights and freedoms, under the guise that he was ‘keeping America safe’. What a crock of absolute horse sh*t. The thousands of American lives, and the unknown number (tens of thousands) of innocent Iraqi lives lost during his tainted regime, obviously meant nothing to the money-minded Bush administration.
Have shame, America…because you allowed Bush and Cheney to set a precedent, as the most crooked presidency EVER…and so now, and problems you face with Obama…well, you really only have yourselves to blame.

Im sure they were able to go and buy a week or so’s worth of groceries eah, what a big deal and the DEms buy it. You guys are a joke. Obamas methods of helping America have failed terribly the only areas he claims to have helped are the things that are not proveable and you guys buy it.Throwing money at the stimulus bill has failed, Home forclosures are breaking records wit Obamas fix. The dems are telling their followers that the economy is improving and theyve saved millions of jobs. Hes helped the job market so much that he has created a welfare state giving millions of potential workers enough money to make you dependant on Govt.to carry them thru the hard times. Wouldnt you rather have a job that makes you independant. Thank Obama for all the new jobs he created. The health care bill is on a path to Bankrupting the U.S. The Dems are spending money like theyre under the influence of drugs. Throwing good money after bad is their only answer to fixing things. Anyone with brains can see that its not working. They continue to blame Bush even tho the Dems controlled both the house and the senate during Bush’s admin. And now they are in control again and do not listen to Americans our country is going broke and Obama is breaking a new record of adding in his short stay 1.75 trillion to our out of control deficit. Its time everyone should say “NO” not just Republicans

        • Beberoni says:

Yeah right, and I know you were one of those knuckleheads that was claiming it was Bush/Cheney war for oil too. Only, gee, they didnt go after any oil. And you seem to forget, conveniently as it seems, that every stinking democrat voted to go to war, and every leading democrat from Slick Willy on down, stood there inside of my TV, and shouted from the mountain top that Saddam Hussein was dangerous and had weapons of mass destruction and had to be stopped. And this was all before Bush was even a candidate for president. So eat your little lies. The democrats, who were by the way, correct in doing so, got things started as to going after this guy. They just didnt have the guts or know how to do it. It took a man with a pair to get it done. And he didnt waver with whatever way the wind blew popularity. No sir. He said what he was going to do, and by God he came in and did exactly what he said. I have a deep respect for a man that does what he says. I dont condone his uncontrolled spending, but I totally condone is going after those who have continually bombed us again and again and again. Or he could have done like Clinton, nothing, except to grab another intern and another cigar, and well, you know the drill. Thats all the guy cared about. He let them slap us and slap us, then kick us and kick us, and made us a laughing stock of the world. Bush brought back some American pride in us, and made us strong and kept us safe, and I know we really needed that, and am appreciative for it. Now this new wanker in office, well, he is again making us a laughing stock. He hasnt a clue what to do, and neither do those in the back room pulling the strings to animate him. Its a sad commentary, that luckily for us all, will come to an abrupt end i 2010, and should be rendered harmless by the end of 2010 when they are kicked out of a bunch of their seats.

        • Beberoni says:

He didnt lie, he didnt fear monger, and he definately didnt create no false war. Congress voted for the war. Democrats pitched for actions against Saddam before Bush was even a candidate. I viewed Bill Clinton on TV while he was still president, saying how Saddam Hussein was dangerous and had WMD’S and had to be stopped. So quit your blaming Bush for everything you dont like. So you dont like war, good. Either do I. But I dont like these guys blowing up the USS Cole, and the World Trade Centers, and the World Trade Center basement the first time. I dont like them dragging our dead soldiers naked through the streets of Somalia beating their dead bodies. I mean, how many times do you propose to let these terrorist idiots strike us, before you decide to do something about it? Do you think for one minute being a pacifist appeaser is going to make them stop? Hell no. You stop them by force, and you acheive peace by force. That is the only way its ever been achieved, by force. I myself, recognize this enemy, and I recognize they will not stop until with either anihilate them, or they end it for us and Israel. Thats how it is. They will not stop until we are all dead and Israel is no more, or we make them be no more. Dont you understand that? As long as one of us hasnt committed to being a muslim, they wont stop killing. And even if that happened, which it never will because God wont tolerate that, they would still kill, as they kill themselves constantly and have since the beginning. These terrorist run around in the darkness and have no God to guide them. They say they do, and talk a good game, but it is written, that if you dont have the Son, who is Jesus Christ, that you dont have the Father. They dont have Jesus Christ, so their prayers are not reaching anyone. They say be like us or we will kill you. They think God rewards them for blowing up a school bus full of innocent kids. They think God rewards them for blowing up a mall with families inside that have done nothing wrong to anyone. Thats what kind of sick individuals you are dealing with here. And now we have an administration that wants to protect them, and give them lawyers, and let them roam freely about this country. Its sick, and its time for these evil no doers in Washington to vacate the premises. Thank God that 2010 elections will render this guy powerless, and that in 2012 we can have him removed. America has woken up for now, but sadly, we woke up after 9-11, and how sad it was that we went back to sleep so soon, and forgot, and turned right around and elected a muslim president, and have allowed him to screw up so many, many things. I just hope this wake up lasts a little longer than the last one. How could we have forgotten so quick. How could we?

Obamacare is just going to be another tax and the government will be in control of our health care. Don’t that make you feel warm and fuzzy? After all look what they’ve done for our schools and everything else they’ve got hands on. It’s time for a “CHANGE” in the way you think, or nothing will ever CHANGE. We need to get rid of all politicians that are not constitutional conservatives. We need to make sure that whoever is in office and whomever we vote for, are not beholden to the New World Order elite. They have been pulling the strings of our politicians for far to long now. The elites do not have our best interest in mind, and want to abolish our Constitution. What we need now in government is absolute light and transparency, not the darkness that permeates the halls of the governing bodies at this time. Be vigilent and watch your representatives like a hawk. Anyone that is not righteous needs to be voted out as soon as possible.
Watch your backs and keep your powder dry.

Humanity always follows the same patterns. Governments always devolve into corruption. Such is the cycles of life: birth, growth, peak, decline, decay, death. The same mistakes are repeated over and over, civilization after civilization. There is nothing new under the sun.

All of manifest existence is this way. It’s the nature of how things are. Something new rises out of the ashes of the old.

I don’t believe it is possible for humanity to sustain anything worthy. Not without help from the Divine.

          • Beberoni says:

to capt.z. Remember one thing though, these satanists you refer to, they will never be in control. God is in total control, and the battle has allready been won when Jesus took the nails. It may appear the devil is winning, but like hollywood, its just an illusion. It will all pass, and one day we will have total peace here on the new Earth, as all that will be here are Christians. All the false religions will be destroyed. And when its all Christians, there will be no more pain, no crime, no greed, no violence. That is the new world that Jesus will bring when that fine day comes. So dont worry about what these satanists are doing, their days are numbered.

      • DaveH says:

You finally uttered a phrase, Flasher, which was right, albeit accidentally:
“so his pals could get richer”.
That is exactly what government is all about, enriching themselves and their pals. While you are wasting your time trying to drag down the rich, Obama is jetting around the world, partying on other peoples’ money. What has he done to earn that largess? Absolutely nothing. In fact he is negatively productive. He is stepping on the folks who do produce the real wealth of this country. I’m not talking about the funny money that is produced by the Federal Reserve. I’m talking about the goods and services that are produced by the real workers in this country. The ones who have to pay for all the Government waste.

        • Beberoni says:

Not only that, but Michelle is setting all kinds of records for spending money by a first lady. I think in 2 years she has spent much more than the previous first lady amassed in 8 years. But you dont hear the press talking about that now do you? I guarantee you if it were the other way around, that is all you would hear from them. So sad when our national media buries the truth to protect their own left wing liberals.

      • Allan says:

Since you specialize in bringing Bush up when he isn’t the topic, I must point out your post would be so true if it wasn’t so false. We all know the history of the 2004 election, the rampant voter fraud by Democratic operatives and Acorn, and Democrats denial of recount results. Corruption? Any Democratic strategist will tell you the Obama administration is the most corrupt and incompetent in history, not to mention growing racial tension and record deficit spending. As far as the rich getting richer, your envy is showing. And since you mentioned God, I refer you to the tenth commandment, which basically says you shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor. As for financially troubled states, Bush didn’t invent unfunded mandates. States made their beds via many years of overspending on liberal causes and public sector entitlements. The difference in overspending between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans know it’s wrong, and Democrats think it’s right. If you want to blame the weather on Bush, or the luck of the Chicago Cubs, I can support that.

        • Beberoni says:

Bush may not have been perfect, and he may not have made all the right moves, but I applaud his efforts in keeping us safe. I applaud his efforts on getting the economy going after Clinton decimated it. I applaud his efforts on rebuilding our military and intelligence after Clinton decimated it. I applaud his efforts on not letting these terrorists continually punch us in the nose and run and come back and do it again and again and again like Clinton did. And I applaud him for loving his wife and family, and not violating them over and over like Clinton did. And I applaud him for going to war, this war that the democrats all voted to engage us in. These guys had to be stopped, and they still need stopped even more so. Yes, I did say the war the democrats voted for us to be engaged in, though to read the many left wing threads here, you would think that Bush just did it all by himself, which everyone knows a president can only do what congress allows. I chastize him for his spending, as he didnt reign in the controls as I expected him to do. But seeing what is happening to this country now, with the total lack of action, lack of planning, lack of a course of any kind to navigate on, I have to say, I sure do miss that guy now. Finally, when he has been gone enough years, just who will the dems point the finger at? Who is next on their blame list, since they just cant seem to hold themselves responsible for anything. Its always someone else’s fault with them. Just simply amazing.

        • Joyce from Loris says:

Gary, I’m with you! People do not realize that our tax dollars, for years, have gone to educate minorities. FREE EDUCATION!! Even foreign students get $20,000 in grants to go to college in this country! What do OUR children get? The opportunity to WORK for these well educated “minorities” in the future, because after taxes, we could not afford to send our own children to college. This has been the plan all along.

          • kate8 says:

Joyce, And look at the free education they get. They’re taught to hate America and to support the progressive agenda. They are taught not to ask questions but to be good drones in the coming mind-controlled society.

One thing they do not get is a good education, which would include how to form their own thoughts and ideas, and basic academics.

Religion just won’t cut it!

          • Beberoni says:

This is a wake up call to hflashman. God. There is only one God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Who was, Who is, and Who is to come. The One who was there in the beginning. The One who came to earth as a human, suffered immensely and was hung on the cross. The One who rose again on the third day, to fulfill a 2000 year old scripture. And I might add, the one that you and I and everyone will get our chance to bow down in front of and give an account of ourselves to. That is God. The only One who lives. All others are dead and buried in the ground, and you can dig their bones up. But not this One. He is alive, and you and I and all will get to see Him. So now you know, and you dont have to ask which One again.

You want it to be true that Bush caused the economy crash. It was the housing crises. It was caused by bleeding heart democrats for a couple of decades. When the TARP BILL went through in 09, Obama voted FOR it. Bush signed it into law after a democratic congress put it through. They are all guilty, and Obama is not in the least of the guilty. Wake up and realize we are facing a crises of treason, not just one party but heavy on the democrats and their racism too.

      • rwnut says:

flashman….Leave it to a loonie leftie who can’t spell to tell someone else to get spell check.”niether”? Go watch Glen Beck and learn something!

      • Drizzt says:

hflashman you are correct. Bush did most of those things and Gore did win the popular vote in 2000. We did elect Obama, who campaigned as a moderate. Now he’s a flaming progressive radical trying to destroy our country and subvert our Constitution. Bush was a progressive too but Obama is a traitor to the Constitution and an embarrassment to the United States along with most of congress. They are all just filling their pockets at the expense of the People and trying to create a socialist country out of the Representative Republic the Founder gave us. And up to this point the people of our great nation have been asleep, content to let the greedy politicians rob us blind. Bush and Obama are the same, Obama is bolder, more overt and arrogant. He knows he will be a one term president so he’s going to cram though as much of his progressive, subversive, socialist agenda as he can in his 4 short years. He is evil… They are all evil… Lets hope the People are waking up…

        • Beberoni says:

Bush and Obama are not the same. They are as different as day and night. Are you kidding me. One believes in Jesus Christ. The other believes in blowing up innocents to appease his god allah. The one believes in keeping the United States safe from terrorist attacks. The other believes in giving these caught terrorists lawyers to defend themselves. He also believes in releasing them and setting them free to come attempt to kill us again. The one believes in a military strategy and a plan and course of action. The other one gets off of that course, and hasnt a clue what to do next. Both are bad on spending, but one outspends the other in 18 months what the other took 8 years to spend. One believes in cutting taxes to stimulated the economy, so that business’s can keep more of their money and give new and more people jobs. The other believes in taxing the living hell out of business and those with money, and printing money around the clock, then giving billions to business’s he chooses, and expand welfare, unemployment and food stamps so those sucking off of society can continue to do so. No, they are not the same. Take a look.

      • Dennis G says:

Hey hflashman you need to get your facts straight regarding the 2000 election. Gore did not lose the election in Florida because of the Supreme Court. Check the results of the electoal college. Gore, a former senator from Tennessee, lost the election because he did not WIN his own state. If he would have won TN he would have been President. Can you tell me how many people were elected President that did not even Win their OWN state? Look it up in a real history not not in some revisionist bunk. As to the threats of violence you apparently overlooked the Democrats antics. Who had more attorneys in FL? Who only wanted to count selected precincts? Who worked against counting absentee ballots from our military personnel serving overseas? The REAL threats in 2000 were threats against the Constitution by Gore and his cronies. Get an education!!!

        • Drizzt says:

          Dennis,
Well said. And where is the violence coming from now? It sure isn’t the Tea Party. Where is the racism coming from now? It sure isn’t the Tea Party or even the Republicans, progressive as they are, it’s the liberal progressive democrats.

        • Bud in San Antone says:

Dennis: Please don’t confuse liberals with the facts. That’s beyond thier relm of reason. Oh, by the way they can’t reason very well either.

      • Beberoni says:

Check the facts, and just the facts. Again, under Bush, the unemployment rate was at an all time low. Unemployment was at an all time high. The stock market was at an all time high. Even at his economy’s lowest point, it was higher that your hero Bill Clinton’s highest point. The economy went in the tank the last year of his admin, because every business in the country knew McCain wasnt going to win the election, and that the tax monster democrats were coming to town, so they tightened down, stopped production, cut workers, and saved cash to pay the incoming tax monsters. And thats a fact, and you cannot change history. I dont like war, but it was either go and kick their butt, or pull a slick willy and sit back and do nothing while they keep punching us in the nose. And by the way, all your left wing heros, from Bill & Hillery, to John Kerry, Howard Dean, Joe Biden and all of them, stood there on my TV, and yelled at America how Saddam Hussein had WMD’s and was dangerous and had to be stopped. And this was before Bush was ever a candidate for president. You might want to check that out. Then they all voted to do this war, then conveniently distanced themselves from it, when the national news media told everyone that this war was unpopular. Yet most people I talk too, know we had to go there, lest we have another Hitler on our hands. Had we sat back and did nothing, ala Billy Boy, by now Saddam Hussein would own every oil well in the middle east, and we would be in real trouble. But you on the left cannot see that far, can you. The real problem lies in the here and now, and your boy is a dismal failure. This community organizer has shown over and over that he has no plan, no idea of what to do, and no course of action, and that goes for the whole democratic party. All they have to offer is excuses and finger pointing. I remember when Bush took over a terrible economy which Clinton put in the tank for 2 whole years before Bush came along. His admin didnt stand on their soapbox in the public square, and point fingers and make excuses. No, they rolled up their sleeves and went to work, and made us prosperous again. But all your guy has done, and still does, is point the finger and place blame. Its been almost 2 years since Bush has left. After Bush’s first 2 years, he took the recession Clinton left, and turned it around and had the economy flowing great. Whats obama’s excuse? His pointing the finger like a little girl and placing blame is as old and worn out at the race card. It no longer applies. Get to work and be a part of the solution. Are you not the damn leader? Quit making excuses and do something. But the democrats cant, because they never bothered to make a plan, or bring forth any ideas. They just stood their pointing fingers yelling change, change, change, and the dumb uneducated voters fell into their trap. Its over in 2012. America woke up. Now you need to quit pointing the fingers at Bush/Cheney/Halliburton, and get to work yourself flasher, and become part of the solution, and quit being a whiner part of the problem.

Or perhaps if he had told you how much you could make that would have been better. Of course if only he appointed a judge that lied and changed reports that the AMA had put out to protect a doctor that rips the head off a baby that was half born he would have been considered a hero in your eyes.

I would strongly suggest you catch a flight to China and see how the real people live not the facade that the government tries to put on. Have you ever been to a communist country? Try sometime. Been there, done that, I don’t want the t-shirt!!!

        • Beberoni says:

I keep hearing that from liberals also. Yet when I confront them and ask what he did, they can only quote things you hear on CNN and MSNBC and other liberal media outlets. You ask them to explain, and they havent a clue. They just repeat the mantra that they heard somewhere. They havent a clue. Most have no idea that democrats from slick Willy on down were saying Saddam was a madman with WMD’s and had to be stopped, before Bush was even a candidate for president. You tell them that and they say they never heard that, and that they will check into it. Right, like that is going to happen. Then you tell them how all the top ranking democrats were right there, all saying the same thing, on the radio and live on TV, and that they all voted for the war, and they act like Im making it up. They are just uneducated towards politics, and they just react to what ever the newspapers or national news media projects to them. Maybe if we can just get them off ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and MSNBC, and get them to tune into FOX News for awhile, that the truth might reach them, and then they can see the ills of their ways. Just a thought.

      • ITALLMATTERS says:

Flashman, you have got to use spell check. God should have a capitol G. So quit trying to be so almighty yourself. Things did get a little bad while Bush was president but, nothing in comparison to What Obama is trying to do. He is trying to break this country financially as he is following what the Weathermen of the 60`s had instilled in the Weatherman manifesto. He has a corruption of `60`s radicals and communist all around him. People who say that “power comes from the barrel of a gun” a quote from chairman Mao Se Tung.Czars(41 who don`t answer to anyone but him) who quote from communist such as Mao, Castro, Stalin. They want what communist and socialist want for our country. He has taken a small twig fire that Bush had going and tunred it into a national wildfire as in every county and every state and this country is on fire. Bush had done no wrong in comparison to what this idiot is doing to our country. To say Bush is the reason for all of our woes is to say Hitler had nothing to do with the mass genocide. Stop putting Bush as the reason this president`s massive spending and acknowledge that this president is creating ways to take over our economy and thus take over our rights. It`s time to realize what this guy is up to. He is not working for the American people but, is trying to form a world Govt. and throw America to the wolves. You are going to see it whether you want to or not. If he is allowed to have a 2nd. term he will he will devour the world just as Hitler attemped but, he waill prevail at this. He keeps saying we have created jobs when the only jobs created have been Govt. jobs and most of them are Temporary. We have 3 million job losses in 2010. As compared to Bushs` 1 mil. at the end of his presidency. Look into what this president has actually done by creating a healthcare or a financial reform. Read the bills. You will find many takeovers inside those bill that the congress Democrats refused to read and Pelosi said we had to vote on before we could read. Why, because there are hidden agendas in them. We weren`t allow to read them and as some politicians said; it takes a lawyer to decipher. He won`t even enforce our borders. Yes, Bush didn`t either but, this guy actually won`t whan asked to. Instead he sues the state who tries to stop the illegal entry and crimes inundating their state. By the way the Democrats controlled the house and they were the ones who were the nay sayers as Obama is saying the minority in the house is now the party of No. Bush couldn`t get bin Laden because of the Dems. STOP Blaming BUSH.

      • ldot says:

Why do those who continue to blame Bush for the economy, job, deficit woes conveniently forget that the Dems were running Congress for the last two of the Bush years. He did pass TARP and started the bail-outs, that shouldn’t but the then Senator obama voted for all the bills passed that contribute to the decline.

        It’s such an inconvenient truth.

Throw the corrupt bums out in November and let’s take our country back!

      • brigid feydo says:

More people had JOBS under Bush. He might have been the greatest but OBama well I can’t express all that he has done to our great nation. His regulations has caused our insurance to quaduble. We have to buy into an org. we don’t need, but ranchers want to protect themselves, to the tune of $700 a yr. Now I read if the tax cuts are left to expire none of these will be tax deductions. He is smothering small business. I pray for the day he is impeached! And if they try the lame-duck session that is being talked about, their won’t be a dem left. They will all lose their seats!

What Oblama ment to say was, we would hope we had some change left after the government got through with our paychecks. It’s our faults that we misunderstood.

    • BrotherPatriot says:

Good LORD people…are you forgetting or just not aware?

Bush/Obama and the previous presidents right down to Isenhower have been key players working for the same Agenda…and the same people, the Bilderberg Virus that is deeply imbedded into the body of Humanity.

Chip is 100% correct that we shouldn’t be arguing with the Liberals, they really won’t change their minds. We need to just enlighten our fellow neighbors and ensure that they are aware of the truth. If they are concerned then they will absorb the information like a sponge. That’s the problem…the Agenda has so numbed the general public that they are totally entranced by the illusion of reality that has been spun for them. The mainstream media is a enormously powerful tool. Only independent news is allowing for the education of the masses that is occuring.

Hrmmm…why has their been mention of a Kill Switch for the internet and censoring of it?

DOWN with big government and a cheer to the idea of keeping Ron Paul while kicking pretty much all the rest of the incumbants out!

Hey Chip & Bob…how about making a list of current Patriots who feel like we do…that are going to be running in November? That would help give steering for our course. Perhaps even another list to educate who in the seats need to NOT be voted for…the encumbants.

Yol Bolsun, my brothers & sisters.

      • kate8 says:

        BrotherPatriot, Excellent post.

We waste so much precious time arguing with the liberals who are here only to distract and rile us. Instead, we need to be building our own foundation, our own plan, and attracting those who are ready to open their eyes.

I really believe that truth will always prevail, eventually. We must get our own house in order, unite in truth and goodness. We need to take our anger and MOVE FORWARD. Righteous anger can be a good motivator.

There are many on these threads who do great research to keep one another informed. To all of you, I say “thank you” for your contributions. We are all patriots.

    • bp says:

DaveH: We do. This is a fundamental Democrats just do not grasp!!!! EVERYTHING they do is funded by WE THE PEOPLE! The government is an EXPENSE, it generates NADA, NOTHING, ZILCH.

    • Pathfinder says:

Who pays for Obama’s travels ? WE DO. Our taxes pay for airforce one. Incumbants always have the advantage due to the power of their office.

      • Karolyn says:

DUH! Who pays for every president’s travels Republican or Democrat? It just boggles my mind how you people are so hateful and hate-mongering. I feel sorry for you housing all that anger, together with all the people who were at that rally. I just find it curious that no one hears liberals making fun of conservatives. Usually, the one with the biggest mouth has the smallest…..mind.

        • hflashman says:

          Well said !

        • DaveH says:

You don’t find it a little disturbing that the president can use taxpayer money to fund his campaining, regardless of political party? Only democrats can hypocritically use that “hate” word regularly. Anybody, who doesn’t have their zealot blinders on, can see that the Liberals on this board are the hateful bunch.

          • Beberoni says:

Thats because they have no truth in them, and they dont recognize it when it is there. They feel they know what is best of all of us, and we should blindly follow and do as they say. The liberal leaders think like this, and their blind followers like flasher and eyes just do it because their leaders tell them to. They are the sheeple.

        • Linda says:

And what planet are you living on? The liberals attack conservatives EVERY day. They just can’t handle it when the conservatives talk back.

          • DaveH says:

Exactly, Linda. They are used to cowing the average citizen who doesn’t want to put up with their personal attacks.
But, when their ideas are exposed to scrutiny, they don’t hold water.

Very well said. Conservatives are THE biggest hypocrites.

          • DaveH says:

Hardly, Buster. Name me some hypocrisy by the conservatives?
I can name several examples from Liberals:
They whine about the rich asking too much money for their products, but think nothing of taking money from others using the government as their enforcers.
They accuse others of racism while working hard to institute laws that favor certain races of people over others.
They accuse conservatives of being hateful, all the while shouting-down, name-calling, ridiculing, or otherwise personally attacking anybody who dares to question their flawed policies.
They whine about the rich not paying their share of the income taxes, and give a free pass to the 50% of the population that pay no income taxes.
They complain about not being able to get affordable healthcare insurance, and then use their bully Liberal government to force people, who know insurance is not a good investment, to buy that bad investment whether they like it or not.
Liberals are immoral and disrespectful people who don’t have a clue about what makes a good economy even though history is littered with examples of failed Liberal policies.

          • Beberoni says:

Buster says, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, and nothing intelligent comes out.

        • Joyce from Loris says:

What rock have you been living under?? Never hear liberals making fun of Conservatives?? Have you never turned the television on? Liberals called ALL conservatives who did NOT support Obama, and I quote “redneck, back wood hick racist”, unquote. Give me a break!!!

          • Karolyn says:

I don’t hear those terms amongst the people I associate with. As far as “redneck” goes, many of the people here in SC that I know are proud to call themselves “redneck” and joke about it all the time. It’s like me calling myself a Polack, which I am. It just seems to me that liberals are more civilized. It reminds me of the girl putting a flower in a National Guardsman’s rifle during a peace demonstration in the 60s. I guess there are the same types in both camps, but conservatives are far more vociferous and hateful. That also goes for evangelical christians. What they don’t believe in or understand, they hate.

          • DaveH says:

            Karolyn,
All you have to do is read these comments to see the disproportionate number of personal attacks by Liberals.
Civilized? Hateful? Sure if you call it “civilized” to take the money of others with a smile on your face, and “hateful” if they get angry at you for taking their money.

          • Beberoni says:

And they are so scared of the Tea Party they are trying to do it to them, hiding behind the NAACP, which by its very name, is the most racist organization around. Any organization, that represents one set color of people, by its definition, is racist. And the things that come out of their mouths, oh my. If a white person said half the things that came out of that organizations speakers, they would have been fired 10 times over. Your only allowed to be racist if your a liberal. And thats the truth, and they cannot deny it. And by the way, its not right.

          • DaveH says:

Too much truth, Beberoni. You are going to make their heads explode. Oh well.

You obviously don’t read these comments to see that the liberals do in fact continuously make fun of conservatives – selective reading perhaps -

        • JeffH says:

          Karolyn, You’ve certainly proved that…

        • Joyce from Loris says:

Karolyn, I too am from South Carolina and have no problem being called a redneck, EXCEPT when someone is using that term to put me down socially. It’s not about the people who you associate with, necessarily, but about the people who are on television, making comments for the world to hear. Yes, conservatives can be hateful, just as liberals can. But the difference right now is this… Conservatives are MAD AS HELL. The working class is being taxed to death on every dollar we MAKE. We are also being taxed to death on every dollar we SPEND. I work in the rain, the cold, the heat, the wind, only to turn my dollars over to the government. I stand in line with my little grocery list and coupons, praying I have enough money to buy groceries for my family, only to be INSULTED to watch a woman with FIVE children roll a buggy full of great food to the counter, and whip out her EBT food stamp card. And many time, that woman can not even speak ENGLISH. Those people aren’t tired, because those people have not worked all day. And they all have new shoes on! Don’t tell me there are not jobs, I travel twelve states a year, and I have YET to enter a town that has businesses that aren’t desperate to find employees. It’s not a republican thing or a democrat thing, it’s a WE ARE SICK AND TIRED of working like dogs so others can enjoy living a life better than us, without striking a lick at work.

Not only that, when the 200 reporters they sent to dig up dirt couldnt find any, they fabricated stories, and forced her to spend millions to defend herself against them, and they were given a free pass, when charges should have been brought against them. But the left wing liberal media is allowed to lie, cheat and steal, because they are the one’s who expose it to the people, and they will always cover for their left wing liberal buddies. One sick group.

          • Karolyn says:

Our natural born rights are that we are all equal and all entitled to live and enjoy life and not be thrown to the wolves because people like our Republican legislature in SC want to cut the budget. So they cut assistance to aids/hiv victims and keep the money for conservation. Like there’s not enough land open in SC!

          • KASI (AMERICAN) says:

thats where we disagree we are not entitled to anything other than an opportunity, and how many of those aids/hiv victims are drug addicts or were not responsible when they were having sex.i dont know about you but i dont want to take food off from my familys table to go to some irresponsible person who couldnt protect themselves while having sex or doing drugs or whatever else let them pay for their own treatment.so you must love the fact that this new healthcare debacle is now funding some girls abortion with your money, are you really ok with that

Natural rights means that you have the opportunity to live up to your potential. It does not mean that anyone else should be robbed in order to give to you.

We used to have churches where you could go for help. Americans are very charitable by nature. Just because you feel “thrown to the wolves” does not entitle you to take what is not yours.

        • DaveH says:

Isn’t it amazing how the green-eyed Liberals can attack the rich for living opulently with their own legally acquired money, but cast a blind-eye to those like Obama who are living opulently on other peoples’ money?

        • Beberoni says:

Yeah, and its our money he is spending. And Im sure if an audit is done when they are finished after 2012, it will show that Michelle Obama spent more money than any 1st lady in history, and that the Obama admin spent more of our money than any presidential admin in history, by at least a 2 to 1 margin. But hey, it cant be reported, because that would make whoever reported it a racist, because your not allowed to tell the truth about them. What a crock.

          • dan of arizona says:

Right now, Eddie, it is Obama. No politician should be allowed to campaign with other peoples’ unwilling money. I have never said different.

          • Beberoni says:

But eddie is a liberal. It doesnt matter what you said. To them what matters is what they want to twist it around to say. They know what we mean and what is best for all of us. If you dont believe me, just ask one.

        • JeffH says:

fast eddie, continually demonstrate that you have the lack of knowledge, or background/factual information of a particular thing in general. However, the effect in which this person will be proceeding with his “unproven knowledge” imbedded in his mind as if factual information will, in turn, plan on using it in the future to make false and incorrect statements based on what he didn’t know about any particular thing, or may have heard from another liberal source.

    • Brad says:

A simple we the people pay for Obamas trips the closure of airports and so on and so forth. Well said bp, governments don’t make anything they provide no services for which they get paid, our government only knows how to tax and spend us down the road.

Watch out for a surprising tax increase, that’s right people all the Bush tax cuts are coming to an end and the democ “RATS” are going to let them expire. So, who is it going to hurt the most, the poor and lower middle class, call your state representatives and senators and tell them to push for the renewal of the Bush tax cuts, not unless you want to see this country bled dry.

      • hflashman says:

Not extending the tax breaks given to the wealhty is not a tax increase, it’s the beginning of ending the unfairness and enrichment of the wealthy at our expense. It’s time we ended the two largest areas of the welfare sysytem…that to the wealthy, and that to the Big Corporate America.

End those, we have a balanced budget in a few short years.

        • Brad says:

Man you are so ate up with the lefts propaganda that you can’t see what’s happening right in front of your eye’s. When all the tax cuts expire both you and I to include corportate America will be the loosers, that’s right and who is it going to hurt the worst, the poor in this country. True we need to pay for those tax cuts, so what’s your answer make the rich pay more or corporate America pay more, well my friend it all comes down to what you and I believe in. You are for big and more taxes, I’m for smaller government and few taxes, cut spending and balance the federal budget, where we are spending one dollar for every dollar we take in as taxes.

          • Beberoni says:

Amen brother. The propaganda machine has that dude blinded big time. Im pretty sure a broke poor man has never given him a job. And he seems unaware that small business’s like the one I work for, with anywhere from 65 to 85 guys, are exactly rich, as the democrats like to demonize. Bush’s tax cuts allowed us to hire some 30 new guys. A year after Obama has screwed everything up, 10 of them are allready gone, and when the Obummer takes the tax cuts away, at least another 10 will have to go also, to have the cash reserves to pay these tax monsters. The democrats do this everytime. They demonize business, and present it as “big business”, when who they hurt is the small and medium business’s. They take big business like the oil companies and GM and Chrysler, and give them money. They use the propaganda through their media outlets that big oil and the republicans are in bed, when they take as much if not more money from big oil themselves. If I were big oil, Id pull the plug on them and not give them a cent. But like you said, its the left wing liberal propaganda that the uneducated get fooled by.

        • Brad says:

Currently the rich pay over 40% of all taxes in this country. Business pay another 45% and we the middle class pay the other 5%, so watch out it’s about to change.

          • Brad says:

            Sorry the rich pay 50%

          • hflashman says:

LOL…if you go with the published tax rates and apply that to income, those stats would be correct. Apply it after the writeoffs, dpeletion allowances, depreciation schedules, subsidies, tax credits and exemptions … it’s not even close to what sector has the tax burden. Hint: It’s not the higher incomes nor Big Corporate America. Leona Helmsley called paying taxes were for ‘the little people”. She was right then, she’d be right today…even more so. If you call Exxon getting a check instead of paying a check fair…we have a very wide difference of opinion. And it’s across the board , not just Exxon.

        • DaveH says:

So, Flasher, you think it’s fair to take not only more dollars but a higher percentage of one’s income because they have made the necessary efforts to achieve higher incomes? Typical green-eyed Liberal.
How would you like it, Liberal, if upon buying a car or some other appliance, you were asked to fill out an income statement, and then charged more money because you had a higher income?
Instead of spewing your hatred toward the rich, maybe you could use all that brain-power you Liberals claim to possess to educate yourself, work long hours, and take the necessary risks to join their ranks.

          • DaveH says:

Instead of using that brain power to conspire on the best methods to steal the money of others.

First Sharon Angle is poison to this country! Not that Reid is at all worth spit but please people beware! Those of the millions and millions who have lost work to no fault of their own are despised by this rich [offensive word removed] who would just as soon euthanize us then help us. Scary people run this country. People who give not a [offensive word removed] for their brother, those who claim to be Christian yet support going to war, against Christian doctrine, we will finish but shall not start. Those who want to end social programs which is all our tax money should be paying for, not send money in the tune of 79 billion to Pakistan for a Luxury Living Complex and new upscale hospital, to keep the peace and terrorist happy is the excuse as they denied meager 39 billion to hard working Americans and say that we are to spoiled and entitled. Yet not taxing or penalizing larger corporations for taking our jobs out of American, instead using our school money to entice slave labor jobs like Walmart to come rape and pillage our village. You people crack me up, talk about propaganda and false facts. The average multi-millionaire only pays apx 2 percent of their wealth each year in taxes and the average working American between 30k-60 pay over 10 percent of their so called wealth to taxes, the average millionaire especially those who are cash rich pay apx 2 percent and the mega rich is in the o.decimals. The average working American family needs almost 85 percent of its earned income to survive the average millionaire needs are dependent on ones desires and luxuries. If you are a cash poor millionaire and all assists than you need a larger amount of your annual income to support your life style if you are cash rich than well. blah blah. And I wont even go into the less than 2 percent a billionaire pays of his income for taxes. It is sick. We don’t need congress and senators who think that earning over 200K a year to sit on their asses and take obscene amount of 6 and 10 and whatever many days of recesses dozens of times a year and then get vested in five with full compensation of over 67K and full benefits to be in office. It is a public office, should be a 50K a yr job with proportionate pensions and benefits.UNTIL WE STOP NEEDING MILLIONS TO RUN FOR ANY OFFICE WHICH SERVES THE INTEREST OF THE AVERAGE AMERICAN AND NOT THE CORPORATE AND UBBER RICH THAN IT IS A BROKEN SYSTEM. And yes we need to pay for welfare and unemployment and all other social programs for the mental and physically ill, we are a society not Nazi Germany where we find slick ways to make the undesirables disappear like ending Unemployment benefits so they can starve on the streets as we give kudos to the wealthy and greedy Wall Street criminals and tax breaks to the ones who want to take our jobs to India so they can make it hand over fists while they shove their fists up our you know whats. How many decades has it been since average Joe next door was able to run for office, we liked Joe, we believed in Joe, but Joe did not support special interests and could not raise millions of dollars so we are forced to vote for two evils. Wake up, this is not democracy it is a Plutocratic government. Sharon Angle and all republicans have shown what they stand for and that is the fall of us meager working class. Let us take our degrees and work at McD’s for 6 bucks and hour but hey the new college grads get that job or the graduated high school kid, not the 50 and 60 yr old who lost everything a life of hard work earned them and then to be called drug addicts and feral animals and spoiled and entitled. Shame on you and we must vote every single republican out this year and start shaking the leaves of the millionaire tree for the money they deserve to pay. Oh and did you forget that Bush bailed out criminals without penalty and took all our freedoms away in the Patriot Act, so we cannot even protest without being in fear of being treason. Who hid behind the word Christ as he started an illegal war with lies. Bush was the anti-christ and destroyed the fiber of this country without proper law and is actually not only a war criminal but committed over 100 acts of treason all punishable by death. Do your digging and homework I can’t do it for you.

Dave H. Then we won’t go into your tantrums about Liberals or the immorality of Conservatives. Conservatives only hide it better.

          • DaveH says:

            Eddie,
You make a lot of accusations without any evidence. Sure, there are people who claim to be conservative that are immoral. But they pale in comparison to the immorality of Liberals.

          • JeffH says:

          • DaveH says:

            Corporate Thieves, Eddie?
I have lived 60 years. I have enjoyed goods and services in the marketplace that dwarf those that were available to my parents’ generation. And I was never once forced to buy them, except when ordered to by the Government.
Contrast that with the Government who do have the power to force me to subscribe to their services. There is no contest, Eddie. The people you champion are only thieves I have known.

          • DaveH says:

Eddie says “Capitalists=immoral hateful thieves to take a quote from you”.
I never said any such thing.
So, Eddie, are you slandering me with another lie or are you just illiterate?

          • eddie47d says:

Dave H. Do I have to take you by the hand and show you what you say all the time? (7-23 11:02am). Last time okay! You said liberals: immoral hateful thieves. I responded Conservatives: immoral hateful thieves. No lies-you just choose to play dumb every so often.

          • DaveH says:

As I said, Eddie, illiterate or a liar. You attributed a quote to me that I did not say. I did say “Liberals: Immoral, Hateful thieves”. I did not say “Capitalists: Immoral, Hateful thieves” as you stated.

JeffH is wrong about you. You are not Fast Eddie. You are Slow, very Slow.

          • Beberoni says:

When fast eddie attack’s conservatism, capitalism and the free market, he proves himself to be a socialist communist bastard. There is no other way about it. If you dont like conservative free market capitalism, you then are a socialist communist pig. End of story.

        • George Rusling says:

The Bush “Tax Cuts for the Wealthy” are a progressive fabrication. Bush gave “tax cuts” to all people who actually PAY taxes, and that included most of the middle class. It’s really hard to give an “income tax cut” to someone who already pays “$0″ in income tax, and that group already included “ALL” of the really “poor people” in America.

That being said, Bush’s “conservative” credentials are thin, at best, since he spent far too much of our money on things which hardly served the best interest of “The People” in this country. Like so many politicians in Washington, even though he came late in life to his political career, he went to Washington with the INTENT of creating more laws and regulations, not with the intent of making it easier for the average person to improve their lot in life, and that’s exactly what he did. As an example I give you the TOTALLY unconstitutional “Patriot Act” which only a very few in Washington voted against, while pointing out that it violated virtually our ENTIRE “Bill of Rights” along with a few other elements of constitutional limitation on the federal government.

Until we find someone who demands the entire federal government (including the Supreme Court) COMPLY with constitutional limitations on federal activity, we cannot reverse the downward spiral of our Republic…

          • DaveH says:

            Excellent comment, George.

          • eddie47d says:

I agree too George.Yet under Article I Sec. 8 of the Constitution the Federal Government can only support a standing army for 2 years and can not fund any war after that time. Now wars last 10-20 years.

          • Mr. Rusling, Your comments are the most rational I’ve seen in these replies. The one thing that so many don’t seem to comprehend is that regardless of how much a person makes, it’s still HIS PROPERTY. And the other thing no one understands is that FREEDOM IS 100% CONTROL OF ONE’S OWN PROPERTY!
Therefore, all arguments about how much a rich person contributes involuntarily or otherwise to society is nobody’s business!

          • DaveH says:

I agree, Dennis, but we don’t have freedom.

        • 2WarAbnVet says:

hflashman (a disgrace to that honored name, incidentally)

The top 1% of taxpayers already pay 40.4% of ALL federal income taxes. If we want to create “balance,” you would assume that this means the top 1% must earn 40% of the income. You would be very wrong. These evil rich folks only earn about 22.8% of total adjusted gross income. The share of taxes paid by the top 1% now exceeds the share paid by the bottom 95% of taxpayers. Read that again. Here .. I’ll just type is again … The share of taxes paid by the top 1% now exceeds the share paid by the bottom 95% of taxpayers

          • Beberoni says:

Thats is why Im sick of the liberal democrat playbook that demonizes successful people and successful business’s. Arent they raped and gleaned enough? Keep it up and they will all leave, then who is going to be left holding the bag? And its always the so called “poor people” that dont pay a dime, collect handout after handout, that think the rich are getting a free ride, when they are the ones riding the coat tails of the so called rich to the free buffet line. Im a middle class, 50 grand a year guy. Im not rich, and Im not poor. Im just there, and Im comfortable. And Im sick of the demonization of the successful in this country. I myself demonize those who stand there with their hands outs collecting government stipends year and year after year. Shame on you. You are the bastards here, not the rich.

        • Joyce from Loris says:

At your expense?? Since when does it cost you a dime for a wealthy person to be wealthy? Do you think that, just because you are not smart enough to figure out a way to be wealthy, that others should not be?? How can you covet so openly? And wealthy people fall in all categories, such as NANCY PELOSI being worth $35 MILLION dollars. ALL POLITICIANS are wealthy. Explain to me how politicians, who “earn” less that $200,000 a year can be MILLIONAIRES? There are more millionaires in the House of Representatives and the Senate than any where else. Check the records.

          • blamesomeoneelse says:

            Thanks for you comment, Joyce.
Why is it the democrates(which the ones in congress are all wealthy) keep telling the poor that the rich dont pay them enough? It has nothing to do with right or truth it has to do with control. Control the mind control the vote! That is why the democrates pay for people like hflashman to read and comment on these blogs. Control! Vote them out

IT IS NOT AT YOUR EXPENSE YOU DOOFUSS!!!!! THEY WORK HARD FOR THAT MONEY AND SO COULD YOU BUT WHY SHOULD YOU!!?? STOP EXPECTING SOME ONE ELSE TO TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!

          • eddie47d says:

Not all wealthy people earn their money or even work hard for it. We all know who they are! We have been ripped off with extraordinary price increases from many corporations. They jerry rig the system and even their own companies and we get left holding the bag. For myself no one has given me a darn thing so that’s one bandwagon you need to get off of.

          • kate8 says:

eddie, you are so right. Not all wealthy people earn their money or work hard for it. We have a whole Congress, POTUS and WH administratio that can attest to that.

Most of these people have never held a real job. They get rich by sucking it out of We the People.

          • DaveH says:

So, Eddie, why do you champion Big Government which stifles the competition for those corporations with mind-numbing paperwork?
If you want cheaper prices then you would champion Free Markets instead where the consumer is king rather than the bought-and-paid-for politicians.
With free markets, you Liberals could put your brilliant minds together and run businesses that sell their products cheaply. Or not.

          • Beberoni says:

Hey fast eddie, newsflash to you. If you dont like a company marking up prices as you say, dont buy their products. Its that easy. What kind of a dummy are you? Go somewhere else pal. Shop around. Are you seriously that dumb? No way dude. Nobody is forcing you to buy anybody’s so called marked up price. Just say so, and go somewhere else. My gosh man, who does all your thinking for you? ABC? CBS? NBC? CNN? MSNBC? Get a grip man, your circling the drain.

        • JEM says:

Okey, Flash-in-pan. Question. Who produces and WHO PAYS YOUR WAGES? Not the poor. Not the government (they have only the money they take from the citizens, including the poor) Without the rich we will have no jobs! (No, I’m not one of those rich but thanks to them, I had a job).

          • hflashman says:

U,,, I’m a small business owner. And I pay more in percentage of taxes than most of the DOW corporations. Now tell me … how is that ‘fair”?

          • Bud in San Antone says:

JEM: Amen. The truth short and sweet.

          • Beberoni says:

hflashman, if indeed you are a small business owner, then you know how important Bush’s tax cuts were to you, unless your lying. Our small business hired 30 new employee’s when this happened. What did you do, pocket the money? And now that the usurper in charge is getting rid of them, I hope you didnt spend the money you pocketed, because your going to need to pay the democrats at the window sir. But I dont really think you are a small business owner, or you wouldnt be saying what your saying, because you would know these tax cuts were set up to help small business’s. And your lying again. You do not come near paying the kind of taxes that an IBM or Honda or DANA pay. You have no idea.

        • TeresaE says:

I can’t wait for you to see the truth.

The BULK of the tax cuts were for the middle class.

OUR rates are going sky high next year, at the same time the VERY real cost of complete government control hits my business.

My LOW income tax rates fell when the cuts were enacted.

And next year the cost of EVERYTHING we need to buy will skyrocket as businesses pass the costs along, as they are required BY LAW to do.

          • Rick says:

Then the Libs will vote for a consumer bailout and give out checks to anyone hit by the poor economy they caused. Let’s call it “cash for consumers”.

        • marvin says:

hflashman, you do know who employ the working class,is it the poor NO ,is it the goverment yes but only with money that is taxed from the rich or borrowed from china, rich people can take there money and move out of this country, then you will be working for the goverment like greece it is all a house of cards that will fall, then who you going to blame BUSH

        • Dennis G says:

Flasher – how are your math skills. If your taxes go up that is an increase. I am not wealthy and my taxes have gone up and will go up even more when the Bush tax cuts expire. Now here’s your economics lesson. Corporations do not pay taxes – they just write the check to the Gov’t. Taxes are built into the cost of goods that both you and I buy. Therefore you are actually paying Corp. taxes. It’s just someone else writing the check. So you think ending your 2 so-called welfare systems will balance the budget. With the current liberals/progressives in DC they will just spend this new money. They are spending money now that we don’t have – borrowed from China and other countries. Are you part of the 47% that do not pay Fed. income taxes?

          • hflashman says:

you must have skipped Macro Economics in college. Some is passed on to the customer base…not all. Read Samuelson’s book on Macro Economics. You’ll be enlightened.

        • alpha-lemming says:

          Economics 101:
When you tax something (People…. who PAY taxes) you get less of that activity. When you subsidize something (welfare) you get more of that activity. Being the eternal optimist, I hope even the moonbat, Chairman ObaMao-nation bloggers here can see the unsustainability of this simple to understand scenario. If you can’t (or refuse) see it, your only legitamate position for argument is… EVERYBODY should be on wefare. If that’s how you feel, I’ve got some really bad news for you. There isn’t enough money in the entire world to make everyone in it middle class.

        • Beberoni says:

Hey dumb butt, those tax breaks allowed the small business I work for, to hire 20 guys. Thats 20 more people working, paying taxes and spending money in the public sector, buying cars, houses, groceries etc, thus stimulating the economy the way it is supposed to be stimulated. Now multiply that by millions of business’s, and its a good thing. Ever had a poor man give you a job? Ever tax a poor man enough to build a 40 million dollar bridge? I dont think so. Are you even aware that the so called rich pay 85 percent of the taxes, that keep this country operating? And you want to punish them more? And why? Are you jealous? Ill tell you what you misunderstanding left wing liberal, when they take these tax cuts down, a lot of people are going to head to the unemployment line. I know when we lose them here, at least half of the new hire’s are gone, as we will then need the cash to pay the higher taxes. Do you understand this at all? Are you one of those guys that doesnt work, gets welfare, food stamps, unemployement, and thinks the world owes you a living? People like you need to move to Mexico or Iran, since you hate it so much here. Shame on your thought process. Why punish the successfull, and reward the lazy bums that dont want to work? Why? How can you think that way? What happens when they all get pissed enough, and say to hell with it and all start a mass relocation to Mexico and Canada and Europe and all over the world. Then what are we going to do for tax revenue? Its high time we left them alone, and stopped all the government handouts and made people start standing on their own two feet, instead of living off of my back. Its killing me, and Im tired of it. By the way, Im not rich. I make 50 grand. And Im very comfortable. And I give 10 percent of my income away every week, of my own free will, in addition to all the money the government takes to support all their social agencies so they can give stipends to joe crackhead so that he will vote for them next election. You need to get yourself educated man. Your missing the boat.

        • vicki says:

HFlashman: why stop there. Lets roll back the Reagan and Kennedy tax cuts. Then lets ask your wallet if 91% is a tax increase.

          • Beberoni says:

His wallet is probably full too, as Im gathering from his comments that he collects unemployment, welfare, food stamps, probably WIC, and I wouldnt doubt if he has figured out a way to wiggle into some free social security money also. It is those guys that collect all these free government stipends, and live on the public dole, that yell and cry the most and demonize successful people and successful business’s. Its the cold hard truth, but I see it time and time again with guys like that.

        • dan of arizona says:

Flasher man you have to work to get a tax break i no thats a new concept for you

      • Vippy says:

Those tax cuts need to end, they broke this country’s back! The rich need, once again, pay their fair share of taxes. Make more money pay more taxes is fair! After all those tax cuts did not create jobs as we can see now, some of these are even leaving this country to avoid paying taxes and we know no one is going after the tax cheats in the tax heavens around the globe. Let the ones making $ 250,000 get an increase, it is direly needed. It is a well known fact that the poor are paying the highest taxes and that is why this country is in such a mess.

        • James says:

Vippy, a graduated income tax is right out of Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto. What we need is a flat percentage (10%?) that is applied to everyone.

        • Brad says:

Vippy just one question for you, when was the last time a poor man advertised a job opening? The rich create the jobs in this country and with 8-16 million people out of work in this country, who’s going to put them back to work? The fedderal government can’t so who is, inquiring minds want to know?

          • DaveH says:

Vippy thinks we can steal our way to prosperity.

          • kate8 says:

DaveH, don’t forget that progressives are not about prosperity. They are after across-the-board poverty.

Except for the elites, that is. Winner take all.

          • eddie47d says:

The customer is King. THAT’s a capitalist slogan.

Winner takes all is a soundbyte for gamblers.
            It may also be
            # Winner Takes All (Doctor Who), a BBC Books original novel
            # Winner Takes All (game show), on the ITV network from 1976 to 1988, and on Challenge TV from 1997
            # Plurality voting system, a single-winner voting system
            # A natural monopoly
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winner_takes_all

Don’t see any reference to capitalism there.

Another eddie47d fact bites the dust.

          • kate8 says:

This country is in a mess as a result of our leviathan government spending like there is no tomorrow.
Our current economic malaise has been created by Federal Reserve easy money, and the coercion of banks, by government and liberal groups, to lend money to marginal borrowers who expectedly defaulted on their loans.
Your fantasy world doesn’t exist, Vippy. It takes hard work and sacrifice to make an economy run well. All the elected fools in the world won’t make a good economy by stealing from the producers and giving to the non-producers.

            AMEN!!!

          • kate8 says:

It seems that some people believe that government simply creates money out of thin air (wait, they do), and then dispenses it to those it deems worthy.

In the world of the progressive, no one works. In this dream world, everyone sits around and smokes that funny stuff, because in this world there’s not much else to do, while BigBro issues them just enough to eat sparingly while they sit in their government provided cubicle waiting for their next issuance of funny-stuff.

Anyone ever read about what Soviet life was like? Those who did have jobs (government jobs) were still paid as if they didn’t.

Wow. I can’t wait. Sounds like a good description of Hell.

What happens when Bush’s tax cuts are over at the end of the year? Do any of you think they helped? Corporations/business went overseas anyway. I would like to hear some thoughts on this issue. Thanks.

          • JeffH says:

Claire, it will mean those that were eating hamburger helper will be reduced to eating beans and rice, with an occasional slice of Spam…for those with any money left to buy it…

          • DaveH says:

            Eddie,
Kate’s comments make infinitely more sense than your comments.

          • DaveH says:

            Claire,
Many complex factors contribute to a corporation’s decisions to move out of a country. The main ones are taxes, labor rates, and availability of skilled laborers. But one thing is for sure, it takes a lot of negative factors to make corporations go to the expense (both financially and mentally) of moving to another country.
Look at this list and tell me “why are we number eight and falling?”. We were supposed to be the bastion of capitalism.
            http://www.heritage.org/index/

You can see from the list that more government creates lesser economies. Of course, the leaders don’t care, Cuba proves that.

          • Las Vegas Jim says:

            DaveH,

You got the part about our country is being in a mess as a result of government spending. On December 31, 1981, twenty days before Reagan took office, the national debt was $1.028 trillion after Carter ran it up about 143% from about $719 billion in his four years.

By the time your beloved king of conservatism left office in 1989, the debt had increased about 275% to $2.857 trillion.

Bill Clinton inherited a debt of $4.411 trillion from Ronnie and managed to only run it up about 130% to $5.807 trillion in his eight years.

Then along came the tax cutters and warmongers, Georgie and Dickiepoo. By the time they left office, the debt had climbed nearly 200% to over $11 trillion. Now it is up 121% to $13.228 trillion.

For the current administration to match the performance of the presidency of the B movie actor who became a D- governor before becoming an F president, it would have to increase the debt to over $30 trillion. To match the most recently failed administration, it would have reach $22 trillion.

The numbers prove that those bastions of conservatism, Ronnie and Georgie, are the ones most responsible for the “leviathan government spending.”

            What say you now?

            Vicki, Vicki, Vicki,

Get your facts straight. When LBJ took office after JFK was assassinated, the national debt was about $309 billion. When Tricky Dicky was sworn in, it had grown to $358 billion, a very modest 116% higher. Nixon and Ford managed to increase the debt over 180% to $653

The conservatives weren’t very conservative fiscally for the past 50 years. The worst Democrat didn’t increase the debt as much as the best Republican. Can you hear me now? Look at the score and admit your mistake –

            Democrats
            *********
            JFK/LBJ – 124%
            Carter – 143%
            Clinton – 130%

            Republicans
            ***********
            Nixon/Ford – 180%
            Reagan – 275%
            GHW Bush – 155%
            GW Bush – 205%

          • DaveH says:

First of all, Jim, none of them were my presidents. I only vote Libertarian.
When Obama took office (Jan 20, 2009), the National Debt was $10.6 Trillion. Now, 19 months later, it stands at $13.2 Trillion. Extrapolating that over 4 years would put the debt at $17.2 Trillion. That would be $6.6 Trillion of growth in 4 years, which is approximately the amount that was added during the Bush administration in 8 years.
Don’t give me that percentage crap. If the National Debt was $1.00 and it increased by $20.00 that would be a 2000% increase. Significant? Of course not.
Also, during the Reagan years he issued the most Vetos of any president in my lifetime, but even at that 12% were overridden.
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_presidential_vetoes
Could he help that? Of course not. And the House of Representatives was controlled by the Democrats during Reagan’s entire presidency. Remember, Congress passes the laws.
Obama, on the other hand, is pushing the Congress (Democrat controlled) to pass more laws and spend more money.
Your comment would lead me to believe that you disapprove of Government spending beyond their means, yet you apparently approve of Obama, who is hands down the biggest spender ever. Contradiction? Or just typical Liberal smokescreen?

          • Las Vegas Jim says:

            Dave H,

We’re not talking about a dollar or $22. Reagan tripled the debt, and Bush doubled it. No Democrat in the last 50 years performed so poorly. In fact, Clinton even had a surplus. Period, over and out! If you don’t get it, go back to the fifth grade.

You also can’t say what the debt will be in four years unless you have a crystal ball. For all you know, there will be a huge surplus in another couple years. I know that is wishful thinking, but you don’t know.

Obama has raised the debt taking care of problems created by Reagan and Bush. If you don’t get it, go back to the third grade.

          • DaveH says:

            Jim,
I’ll put it in a way that even an ignorant Liberal can understand. Obama has raised the National Debt more in 19 months then Bush Jr. did in either one of his 4 year terms. And I was no fan of Bush.
The budget balancing during the Clinton years was achieved despite Bill Clinton, not because of Bill Clinton:

didn’t Reagan have to deal with a democratic congress?

          • Las Vegas Jim says:

            Paul,

The Democrats controlled the House for the entire Reagan presidency, but the Senate was Republican until his last two years when the nation got sick and tired of them. Remember the recession that Reaganomics caused during that time that Clinton rescued us from.

Obama has to do the same thing – clean up the economy after a president that favored the rich and made them richer.

          • DaveH says:

Reagan had to deal with a double-digit inflation rate that was inherited from Jimmy Carter (Obama’s less evil twin). That required tightening up on the interest rates which of course precipitates a recession. It takes suffering to correct the excesses of the Liberals.
And he had to deal with a hostile Congress. Even many in his own party (notably Bob Dole) hung on his ankles like a ball and chain.

Imagine an out of control spouse spending a family deeply into debt. Upon realizing their debt was unsustainable, they decided to correct their budgetary mess. Keep in mind that they couldn’t even live within their means before and now they have to live even tighter to save enough extra to pay down their debts. There would be a lot of sacrifice in the family for years to come.

Have I explained that well enough that even an ignorant Liberal can understand?

Just what are you going to do when they finally get pissed enough and all move? Then what? Blame Bush? You liberals take the cake. I wish you would all get educated and dig in and find out where the tax revenue comes from, and then maybe you would stop calling for business’s heads. • vicki says:

          • Las Vegas Jim says:

Let me educate you. One percent of Americans have 25% of the wealth. That is why the rich pay such a large share of taxes.

In 1970, the top one percent had less than ten percent of the wealth. How did they acquire so much? The answer is simple – Reagan and Bush.

        • American Citizen says:

What’s your idea of “fair”? The rich already pay most of the taxes.

          • Beberoni says:

According to Las Vegas Billy Jim Bob, no one got rich until Reagan and Bush were presidents. Here’s to them for doing thing right where people could get ahead in life. You distort the truth and type up your fuzzy numbers, and think we should all believe what you type. Im thinking, NOT. Try again.

          • Las Vegas Jim says:

            Beberoni,

You are a beber bone head. When Reagan left office the unemployment rate was 7.3%. When Bush took over from Clinton, it was down to 4%. When Obama took over, the rate was 7.6%, and over a half million jobs were being lost each month.

        • Ted Crawford says:

In 2003, when the bush tax cuts went into effect, the revenue from these taxes was 1.8 Trillion dollars. In 2008, after five years of these lower tax rates. The revenue generated by these same taxes was 2.5 Trillion dollars, an INCREASE of 700 Billion dollars! You see, taxes and revenue are ALWAYS in inverse proportion to one another!
Let’s see something else happened in 2008…, Oh yea, I remember the 110th. Congress was sworn in! Led by.. let me think… pelosi and reid!
The fact that they were able to spend faster than the revenue could increase, doesn’t mean the cuts did not create the revenue!

        • Beberoni says:

Your a LIAR Vippy. A big STINKING LIAR. Those tax cuts created 30 new jobs just where I work. And I know we were not the only small business in the country that got tax cuts and hired people. You are a small pathetic little liar. And I know you lied, and Im calling your lying little butt out, because it DID CREATE 30 NEW JOBS here where I work alone. So shut your liberal lying mouth until you research what it is you say, and put your left wing liberal lying agenda away. You just got caught in a lie. What a lying little Punk.

          • Las Vegas Jim says:

If what you say is true, why did the unemployment rate go from 4.2% to 5.7% in Bush’s first year as president? Why did it remain above 5% for his entire first term and skyrocket to 7.6%, the highest since his daddy left office, by the time he left office?

The fact is that no correlation can be established between the tax rate and unemployment throughout the long term.

          • Beberoni says:

He took over a bad recession Clinton left us in. He rolled up his sleeves, and went to work. It took a year and a half and he got the job done, and it dropped a lot more than you try to say. Then it stayed down, and only went up his last year, because come on man, do you really think for one minute, that the business world wasnt aware that 150 year old career politician John McCain wasnt going to get elected? They knew that. They also knew that the democrat tax monsters were coming, who had allready way before that said they were going to cancel the Bush tax cuts, which freed up cash reserves in the first place for business to hire many new employee’s. Upon realizing Obama was coming in, business tightened up and America felt it, and the unemployment rate started going up. But I know what I read, was it was 4.7 to 4.9 when he left, and Obummer has had it up over 10 percent, and when he kills these Bush tax cuts, that son of a gun is going up over 10 percent again, Ill pretty much guarantee it. Then how you all going to blame Bush for that? This Ive got to see. Your fuzzy numbers arent cutting it with me. And remember those first two years of Bush? His admin rolled up their sleeves and went to work. I never once saw them go on national TV and say what a mess Clinton cause and that they were cleaning it up. But that is all I have seen out of the Obama admin, is excuses and finger pointing blame, more excuses, more finger pointing. That’s all theyve done. Come on man, take a look at it right in front of you. They point fingers and blame Bush. Why dont they roll up their sleeves and go to work? Unbelievable, and just totally unreal that blind followers like you cannot see it. Come on man.

      • JiimCO says:

Ya mean those tax cuts that really improved our economy so much? The Dow Jones at 8000 and falling, unemployment at 7.9% and rising, Wall St. needing a bailout, the car companies looking at bankruptcy. And let us not forget the national debt, in Clinton’s last year there was a $243 billion surplus, at that projected rate, there would have been a $5.6 trillion surplus by 2011, it would have been paid off! Instead Bush gave the money back to the people, even though economists warned that taxes would have to be increased by 2010 to make up this loss of revenue … so instead, it was doubled during Bush’s two terms! In LBJ’s last term, he managed to carry out a war and his social programs and still dropped the debt! In fact every Democrat President has managed to drop the debt during their terms, even Carter during his stagflation. While the republicans … they can’t even run their own RNC as they spend more than they take in, going $7 million in debt over the last 2 months … and you think they are the answer?

        • Brad says:

Wasn’t it the republican controlled congress that gave Bill Clinton his ballanced budget? It’s true that some republicans started spending like drunken sailors, but blame your party as well as mine, they are both to blame. Look at Obama’s current federal budget 1.4 trillion more this fiscal year then Bush requested for the entire 09 FY. Let’s cut the approximate 415 trillion being spent on illegals in this country, that’s in educating them and their free medical only.

        • Robert says:

          • eddie47d says:

There was no true surplus under Clinton although it was one of the best economies.Mr Bush did have a fairly good economy to work with but didn’t shore it up as well as he could. It used to be said by my mother “you know where you go for lying?” And it was hell. Now days, they say “You know where you go for lying”, and the answer is “to the Clinton cabinet”. Im just saying…………

        • George Rusling says:

You need to look closely at the fact that Clinton’s “budget surplus” was a PROJECTED SURPLUS (not money in the bank), which assumed that our economy would keep right on expanding like it did in the ’90′s, and then, toward the end of his time in office (certainly before Bush ever took the oath of office) the “TECH BUBBLE BURST” and all that “PROJECTED” surplus went down the tubes! That’s called a “Market Correction” which neither Clinton nor Bush were qualified to forecast. The Congressional Budget Office missed their “forecast” because they didn’t see it coming and if Alan Greenspan did, he certainly kept it to himself! Simple fact: the “dot-com” explosion was pure inflation based on some foolish prediction of great “PROFIT” on the internet which STILL hasn’t manifested itself, and it simply ran out of steam and investors. Multi-millionaires became paupers overnight, and the only part which can be blamed on “Washington” is the failure of ALL our politicians (who claim such great economic expertise) to see it coming…

        • Beberoni says:

Well they worked when Bush put them in, because our business hired 30 people. And so did millions of others. As soon as Obama and the tax monsters came in, they announced they were rescinding them, and a lot of places are holding on to the money they saved to pay the new tax increases these idiots are going to place on them. Business prospers by leaving them alone, let them make profits, and they will expand and hire people, and its a win, win situation. But when you keep taxing the hell out of them, they will lay off workers in order to pay the tax bills, and that is what is going to happen as soon as they take the tax cuts away. I know were going to have to get rid of at least 10 of our new hires, maybe more. Depends on how much these tax monsters are going to up our taxes. But you dont keep taxing business. That is a recipe for disaster, and if you dont know that, your uneducated in business affairs. And judging by your statements, your totally in the dark. Now go pick up your unemployment check and food stamps, and get out of the heat and go back into your trailer.

        • Ted Crawford says:

As Brad points out, the health of the economy under clinton was due, in no small part, to the fact that conservatives had controlled Congress, therefore the purse strings, for 6 of the 8 years of his presidency!
Even that, however, wasn’t enough to create clintons Phantom Surplus! The main source of that was the reporting the Social Security Taxes payed in, While ignoring the Social Security Benifits payed out!
Any President, with the notable exception of the current one, could create a similar “surplus”, using that method! This one….well I’ll just let the facts speak for themselves!!

We are in such a turmoil and our arch enemies in the name of Allah are at every border just waitng to take us over. They will have the Mother Mosque right there at ground zero.

Give it up already Mark. The planet you are living on has drifted so far away from planet Earth that it is just barely seen or heard any more and apparently will soon be totally gone from the scene. That day cannot come soon enough.

While I can’t speak for every conservative in America, it’s obvious that you believe in everything your ‘Savior’ does and says. You think he can do no wrong. You think you are part of a mindset that will “change” America.
I won’t waste my time or yours, trying to get you to understand the path you’re on, chum. Have the CHARACTER and the SELF-RESPECT to DEMAND that The Anointed One send people to Arizona to CLEAN UP the environmental disaster created by hordes of ILLEGALS who cross into Arizona.
If you can do that, we’ll know you aren’t a candidate for the nearest mental asylum. Otherwise, you and The Anointed One deserve each other – and don’t be surprised to learn that your temporary insanity will turn to instant crap when you need it least. If your middle name isn’t Judas, get it
changed. Then we’ll know who you are when you try to hide under a rock.

      • One thing you forgot S.C., you have Richardson as the governor out in New Mexico who refuses to close the borders and has issued orders that the Police will not arrest any illegals coming in through New Mexico. I worked in Albuquerque for 23 years, the state is probably about 80% mexican, 4% white and the rest is black, chinese and other races. Richardson stands firm on not arresting any illegals and not transporting them back to Mexico. Albuquerque probably has something in the vicinity of over 100,000 illegals living there now! How do I know, I am in constant contact with several friends in Albuquerque that has all this information!

        • PC_Bob says:

Years ago, when I lived in California and we had to travel through New Mexico, we learned the hard way not to stop at ANY fast food places in that state. We were told by people who lived there NOT to eat at any of those places. Once, we stopped at a well know place and there was a sign on the front door from the Health Department, warning everyone that the place had failed the health inspection and that if you ate there you did so at your own risk. Locals just walked around us and the sign and went inside. The places looked dirty and unkempt. The workers all looked like they had just left Mexico that morning. As a contrast, on a recent vacation to Puerto Vajarta, the fast food restaurants in town were all clean and well-kept. What has happened to New Mexico?

      • Ted Crawford says:

Isn’t it also interesting S C, that this administration is using the newly empowered EPA to restrict, and in some cases, even eliminate the Border Patrols ability to secure the border, while totally ignoring the HUGH environmental damage created by the cast-offs of these illegals? You know those darn tire tracks might bother the ground squirrls!
They have, effectively, ceeded an 80 mile wide strip of American soil to the illegals, rather than allow the Border Patrol to operate motorized vehicals in that area!

“off the” mark: dude, check who was running congress. Keep on blaming “W”, while Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Hoyer, et al continue to laugh at folks like you who actually believe that the prez makes any law–and those who do make law continue to subvert the Constitution and your Liberty and Freedom. You’re busy doing the useless things that they propagandize, and you’re proving 24/7 that they are performing the “alinsky dance” and the “cloward-piven” shuffle extremely well. Keep on drinking that kook-aid, dude. The same pack of jackals that drove the housing market off the cliff are the same ones still driving the bus you’re duct taped into–the liberals like Bahnee Fwank are still in the background allowing lending practices that destroyed credit and hundreds of billions in wealth.

    • Paul says:

Exactly what looks ‘fixed’ to you, Mark?

We haven’t had a right wing president since the 1980′s, so the current mess has to be attributed to the ‘government can fix it’ crowd. A real right wing president does not bail out corporations, add to the debt, or create incentives for home ownership. He would want to kill Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac instead of expand them. Instead, he would keep taxes, debt, and government small. I’ve learned over the past ten years that ‘Compassionate conservative’ is just another word for liberal.

The only ones not agreeing with the bank bailouts were we, the people.
All of the politicians agreed. With the Bush years, who drove this country into the ground, the mess started and now we are trying to recuperate but we goofed big time when we did not vote out the old dogs in the senate. Those are all the ones blocking him and telling him how to steer the bus. All the recent reform bills, don’t know who concocted them, are a waste of time and no sincere effort in getting anything straight. Vote 3rd party, for both parties are corrupt beyond belief.

        • PC_Bob says:

“…Both parties are corrupt beyond belief.” Both parties have been infiltrated and taken over by the progressives, so they are both parts of the same thing. In the past the progressives were know by their generic names, communist’s. Now they have acquired a patina of respectability by presenting themselves as Democrats. The Democrats will vote for anyone, just so long as they are not a Republican. Thus, the nickname of Yellow Dog Democrats. A Democrat will vote for anything, even a yellow dog, if it’s a Democrat. The old, “Well, it was good enough for my pappy…” Don’t think. Don’t wonder. Don’t ask questions. And above all, don’t confuse them with facts, for their mind’s are already made up.

        >>”The very next day, the White House announced that President Obama was flying to Las Vegas for a special campaign appearance on behalf of his beleaguered Senate majority leader.

We quickly shuffled the schedule so he would be the first speaker the next morning.”<<<

Hey Mark, The Right Wing of this country didn’t give us this mess. It was the Democrats who were in charge of the banking system which caused the melt down. Barney Frank, a Democrat, is in charge of this whole mess and was told by the Right Wing and financial guru’s to put regulation in… he didn’t! He made banks give bad loans out or lose their FDIC!

    • Bob Wire says:

How do you make a bank do anything? We seem to be having difficulty in getting them to do the “right thing” while you suggest it’s easy for one man to get them to do the “wrong thing”.

I sorry that story you might buy, but it’s just not working for me. Perhaps you should consider rethinking that.

      • Brad says:

        Bob Wire,

Just google CRA to find out how it all started then you will find out when Clinton was in office they tweeked CRA to make easier for banks to loan money. While we are on the subject of congress, who chairs the financial reform committee, your friend Barney Franks. Wasn’t it Barney who said both Fannie and Freddie where sound financial institutions. They where the ones who told the banks to start lending more and more and by the way don’t worry about making sure the prospective buyer can pay. Then came the banks with their new loan contracts; ie, intrest only, 2-28 better well known as ARMs, lump sume ARMs and the list goes on. Where was the regulation from congress, Barney said don’t worry nothing is wrong, look what that got us, the worst financial melt down and the loss of over 8 million jobs you moron. So, I blame the rats (democrats) and congress for the mess we are in and I blame you for putting lame people in congress that corrupted our great nation.

          • Brad says:

Bob at times make for a compelling arguement, but look at the bigger picture, the war on terror has been going on for how long 8 year’s that’s 4 trillion spread over the same time frame. You talk about money what about the monies being spent on illegal immigrants just in education and medical (415 billion annually) X 10 year’s its a staggering 4.15 trillion so what’s your point. Government is out of control neither you nor I can change that but what we can change is the direction this country needs to go. First is to quit spending money like a drunken sailor Obamas congress is doing that to us right now, which you have neglected to mention. Also the CBO came out earlier this year and revised the cost if the HCR bill, it’s now going to cost us 1.4 trillion over ten years, they forgot to add the total cost to administer HCR.

          • Brad says:

Bob you blame me for my stance, I blame you for not having an open mind and not thinking for yourself and bringing new ideas that will help our country. And I am curious, Bob, where did you get the $4 Trillion figure?

Put down that cup of kool-aid and start taking an interest in FACTS.
I know it will be a challenge.

Has history been rewritten for all of us, or are you the only one it has been rewritten for?

          • kate8 says:

Well LVJ, progressives have been trying to rewrite it, but there are still some of us who were around at the time of MLK, and know the history.

Do some real research, and……eat crow.

Kate 8: I’ve known for years that the klan were mostly in the Democrat Party up until the late 60′s. Then the Liberal Democrats went South and kicked A*s and told them they wouldn’t put up with their crap anymore. The South turned Republican and guess where the Klan went? Now yor Party get’s to deal with those fanatics.

Question is, when Bob Wire, fast eddie and Las Vegas Jim all get together, how many crack rocks do they smoke? Im really wondering, because it must be a whole lot judging by the illusions they all 3 seem to have about things. Ive never seen such a “ghostly trio” pervert the truth so much like this. Its almost like having Durbin, Pelosi and Reid in the same room. Amazing. Im thinking clones.

The Question is Beberoni, what do you know about crack?
The Question is Bereroni, ~ just how long are you going to be a lap puppy for special interest?
The Question is Bereroni, when are you going to learn to chew your own food and not depend on other people to chew it for you?
The Question is Bereroni, when will your presence be of little value to special interest and they see no need of you anymore.
The Question is Bereroni, when are you going to understand special interest is not about people but Quarterly P&L statements, if you are not necessary, you won't be a consideration.

Ok dummy, here is the short version, so youll be educated on this, and now you’ll know. Bill Clinton decided that everyone should have the American dream of buying a house. So him and his ilk, put together a group, led by Franklin Raines and Jamie Gorelick, and they set up certain Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac funds, and the government told the banks to lend money to anyone that wanted to buy a house, and the government would back the loans. So these guys lent money to people who didnt have a snow balls chance in hell of paying it back. Pretty soon the government funds were running out. Bush admin noticed something wasnt right here, and called for an investigation. Problem is, Clinton set up Barney Frank, another high ranking democrat, as the head of the oversight committee that was in charge of keeping an eye on this type of thing. Barney told the Bush admin that everything was ok, and no investigation was needed. In the mean time, Raines and Gorelick were writing million dollar bonuses to their democratic friends like drunken sailors out of these funds. Soon the banks loans were backed anymore, the banks went broken and started collapsing, and the liberal media made it appear to the public that the Bush admin was responsible, when their hands were clean of this thing. It was all Clinton, Raines, Gorelick, Frank, and a few other high ranking democrats. They should all be in jail for what theyve done, but somehow they have all avoided prosecution, because the democrats run and own everything, and the left wing media is all democrat, so they fleeced all this money, and get a free ride. There, now you know. If you doubt any of this, look into it and you’ll see. Now you know, the rest of the story.

          Beberoni,
In the midst of the bubble, people like myself were wondering, where is the government with all this wild lending going on? Little did most of us know that the government was pushing the wild lending.

          • Beberoni says:

It was, Bill Clintons idea of giving the American Dream to everyone, where as we all know the American Dream is something we all work for, and dont have it give to us. Of course, he knew he wouldnt be around when it all came crumbling down, and they could always resort to the democratic playbook, and point fingers and place blame on someone else. And that is exactly what they did. Imagine that.

        • Las Vegas Jim says:

Your post is the most absurd that I have read on this forum.

First, Congress passes laws, not presidents.

Second, Republicans ruled the roost in Congress for six years of the Clinton presidency. Since Congress passes laws, the Republicans screwed up.

Third, if Barney Frank pulled the wool over Bush’s eyes, who is the stupid one?

          Fourth, Democrats own everything?

Fifth, “these guys lent money to people who didnt have a snow balls chance in hell of paying it back” is a stupid statement. It wasn’t the older mortgages that failed, it was the new ones and the refis that took place while guess who was president.

There are a lot more bullet holes in your fabrication, but I haven’t the time nor the inclination to expose them all. You already are looking pretty bad and uninformed.

          • DaveH says:

You take whichever side of the fence suits your argument, don’t you Jim?
In your earlier comments it was all Presidents, now it’s Congresses. Would you make up your mind, Ignorant Liberal?
The banks were coerced into making those risky loans by Liberal Organizations, and by Government policies which began in Clinton’s time.
The information on the Boom and Bust is easy to obtain, if you really want to know, but I suspect that, being a Liberal, you would much rather swelter in your Ignorance.
And you should know all about fabrications since you are a Liberal. If it isn’t name-calling, or ridiculing, it’s fabricated facts. The tools of the Liberal trade.

Las Vegas Jim–You are correct, Congress passes the laws and it is up to the President to veto them. Has he vetoed any? If he has, I am not aware of this. However, this president has allowed laws to be passed that were not worthy. A majority of these laws were not “kosher” as far as I am concerned. They packed too much pork, and left out a lot of items that would have benefited America and all Americans. All for the sake of getting votes so that these inept laws could be passed. These laws were passed just for the “sake” of being passed and just so the administration could say they were “doing something.” It took a year for health reform–a whole year wasted–and we ended up with a package that left out the public option and the fact that people would be “fined” if they did not have insurance. I ask you–if people are broke, how in hell can they buy insurance? A whole year they worked on health reform-they should have worked on the economy and jobs first and foremost. After all, people have to have a job in order to buy insurance, don’t they? Now he has passed extended unemployment benefits. If this administration had worked on the economy and job situation first, perhaps this law would not have been passed.
They should have brought our troops home, although I realize the Repubs and Dems both were in favor of prolonging this “debatable” war. They should have done away with the illegals. I am tired of taking care of these illegals, aren’t you? I would rather have our soldiers home protecting our own borders, and making sure our soldiers have a good life when they do come home. To me, our soldiers come first–not the dang illegals. Obama should never have made all those promises when he was campaigning, especially since he could not keep any of those promises. As far as I am concerned, he has not done much of anything–half-assed health reform, half-assed laws? Everything comes with a price tag. Now Americans will have to reap what this administration has sown.
He also promised NO MORE lobbyists. What happened? From the way he spoke, I thought everything would be on the “up and up” and then after he arrived in the White House, he surrounded himself with the likes of Holder and Geithner, and others. You can sing their praises all you want, but I cannot buy into this political game-playing and these men leave a lot to be desired in the reputation department.
Another comment–Obama seems weak, unable to make a quick decision on his own. Take the oil spill, exactly WHY did he drag his feet on this? This entire administration were lax and not on the ball. They did NOT react quickly and efficiently. To me, the oil spill was a crucial matter and it still is. If I were the POTUS I would have been on this disaster like bees on honey. I would be knocking some heads together, anything–to get it taken care of quickly before so much damage was done. This tells me this administration does not give a crap about the environment, they did not care about the loss of tourism trade, the fishermens’ ability to make a living, the beaches, and the marine life. I will never forgive this administration for the total lack of intelligence in handling this oil spill. Now I hear the fish, lobster, etc. is okay to eat. Do you believe this? I don’t. This oil has polluted the Gulf in the worst possible way.
I expect honesty, fairness, ethics, intelligence, rational thinking, and this administration appears t
