Beware The Lame Duck

Faced with mounting criticism over his handling of the Federal debt, President Barack Obama did what every brave elitist of the elected class has done before him: he appointed a commission.
Commissions, you see, give the brave elected class cover to do the “hard work.” No, not raising taxes and cutting spending. That’s easy for them. The hard work is in justifying the increased taxes listening to what they see as a sniveling constituency unhappy that they just lost more of their money and freedom at the hands of a fascist regime.
If the appointed commission—which surely has only the best interests of the country in mind—says that taxes need to be raised then so be it, Congress can say, we had no choice, the commission made us do it. End of story.
So the elitist fascist president took two elitist fascists from the political class, told them to assemble a group of like-minded individuals and charged them with coming up with a plan to reduce the total Federal debt, which is expected to exceed $14 trillion—$14,000,000,000,000—next year. That equals to about $47,000 for each resident of the United States.
The co-chairs of the national debt commission are Democrat Erskine Bowles and Republican Alan Simpson. They were chosen—one representing each of the two main political parties—to give the commission an air of bipartisanship.
Bowles sports an MBA from Columbia Business School and had a career as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley before he became involved in Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign. Clinton rewarded Bowles by appointing him to head up the Small Business Administration and later naming him deputy chief of staff.
Bowles left the Clinton administration to found his own investment bank but was later called back to work for “Slick Willy” as chief of staff in late 1996. In 1997 he worked on Clinton’s behalf to craft a balanced budget bill along with the Republican majority.
Since then Bowles failed in his two attempts to win a Senate seat in North Carolina and then served as president of the University of North Carolina system for four and half years before retiring in February.
Simpson, on the other hand, sports a law degree he obtained from the University of Wyoming and is a career politician. He spent 13 years in the Wyoming House of Representatives before his election to the U.S. Senate in 1978, where he served until his retirement 1996. Since then he has taught politics at places like the John F. Kennedy School of Government and has made a career of poking fun at himself and other politicians on the talk show circuit.
His claim to fame was serving as GOP whip in 1990 where he helped round up votes to raise taxes for George H.W. Bush’s budget bill that broke the 41st President’s “Read my lips. No new taxes” pledge.
In other words, both Bowles and Simpson are of government and from government and any solutions their commission reaches will benefit government. As Bowles said after being appointed, “the president looked Senator Simpson and me in the eye and he said, ‘Everything is on the table.’ So we are going to look at every single way to right this fiscal ship.”
That includes cutting “sacred cows” and raising revenue, Bowles said. Everything is on the table, including a value-added tax (VAT), letting the Bush tax cuts expire (which it appears Democrats intend to do), raising other taxes (elitists call them revenue enhancements), plundering the retirement funds of individuals and cutting entitlements (though the prospect of this, on the heals of the rammed-through passage of Obamacare, is laughable).
And what exactly are some of the solutions being bandied about to solve the debt crisis? Instituting a VAT is one key component being considered. A VAT adds a tax to a product on all levels of production. It would reap billions for the government but would devastate the economy and increase the cost of all goods and services and disproportionally affect the poor.
It would also break Obama’s pledge not to raise taxes on those making less than $250,000; er, $225,000; er, $200,000; or whatever the Obama truth happens to be today. Of course, what’s one more broken Obama pledge? For Democrats, history starts today.
Raising taxes on corporations is another solution under consideration. Those who don’t understand the way the world works, who fail to understand that businesses don’t really pay taxes, love the idea of corporations paying higher taxes.
But in the end, corporations don’t pay taxes. Their taxes are figured into the costs of doing business and are passed along to the consumer in the form of higher prices. No matter what, businesses must maintain a certain profit margin or they will eventually fail.
But regardless of whether the taxes are paid by businesses or people, raising taxes in a depressed economy is a bad idea. More and more economists are already predicting a double-dip recession, and some are forecasting a drop in the Dow of 40 percent to 50 percent within the next year—a prospect that seems more and more likely by the day.
Coincidentally, the commission is supposed to have its report on Obama’s desk by Dec. 1. That would give Congress a few weeks to ram the commission’s recommendations through before the new Congress takes over in January—during a lame duck session.
And that prospect is on the agenda, according to Senator Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), president of the Senate Budget Committee.
In fact, as The Wall Street Journal’s John Fund wrote July 9, Democrat party leaders are acknowledging they are poised to lose the House of Representatives and realize their hold on the Senate will be tenuous at best. So they are holding off passing some major legislation before the election that they think they can ram through in a lame duck session after the Nov. 6 election.
“I’ve got a lot of things I want to do” in a lame duck session, Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) told reporters in June. And all of them are bad for Americans.
Among them are card check (which would change how unions are allowed to organize workers and effectively end private voting on unionization), a Cap and Trade energy bill or something similar to provide a sop for the environmentalists (more taxes and higher energy bills), ratification of a New Start nuclear treaty, a Federally mandated universal voter registration system and a budget resolution to lock in increased agency spending.
And, Fund writes, then there is pork. Senate aides say that with some of the biggest porkers of all leaving office—Senators Arlen Spector (R to D-Pa.) and Robert Bennett (R-Utah) among them—it would be their last chance to feed at the trough.
In other words, the Democrats are planning a “stick-it-to-the-little-people” session to get back at the Tea Partiers and others who have decided they’ve had enough and are ready to vote the fascist elitists out of office. They’re saying, essentially, “I don’t care what you want (smaller government, less spending, lower taxes). It’s what we want (more money and power) that counts.”
But isn’t that what they said last spring when they passed Obamacare over the objections of as much as 60 percent of the electorate?
Many voters have been saying that the people will be able to right the ship of state come November. But if that happens, Democrats have made it clear they plan to poke the electorate in the eye with a sharp stick, and then pass legislation mandating you thank them for the poke.

What change have we seen from this president? The U.S. is engaged in two wars, like it was before. Health care reform will collapse, and the next act in the play will be the radical scaling back — if not outright destruction — of Medicare. Various Democratic constituencies will lose on the so-called “values” issues, such as gay rights and abortion. The Supreme Court will move to the right, as the emerging de facto Republican control of the Senate forces Obama to appoint conservatives to fill vacancies.
It’s not an encouraging picture. I’d like to imagine that the Democrats will rally, but what is there to rally to? What do Democrats believe? It is definitely true that the majority of our debt was accumulated prior to Obama’s election, although you are seriously incorrect, grossly biased toward Obama, or oblivious to history that no one raised this issue before. Do you remember the proposed Balanced Budget Amendment? For many people (although clearly not you), George Bush’s primary failure was fiscal. With Republican majorities in Congress, they could have righted this country’s financial ship, had they the will to do so. But they did not, although you also appear to have forgotten the Contract With America.
However, it is at least incomprehensible, if not offensively dishonest, that Obama could have said, and rightly so, during the campaign that the Bush deficits were “irresponsible” and then defend a deficit three times as large as the largest Bush deficit as “good and necessary.” You overlook these things, which unfortunately demonstrate your bias toward at least Obama. On this thread, you have yet to admit a single failure of Obama, but are employing the same tactic he does, that of blaming everyone else. As I have said before, there is plenty of blame to go around, but you obviously don’t think Obama is in that camp.
The ultimate failure lies with the American people, who elect these leaders. Their records and positions are readily available, but people keep electing them. Although I can’t remember the author, one critic of Obama stated that the problem was not Obama, it was the elctorate the elected him that is the problem. Obama’s positions were generally clear during the campaign. For me, anyone who voted for him who is now engaged in hand-wringing needs to look in the mirror. One suspects that too many voters were so caught up with the idea of electing a President of color (he is not a black American, being born of a white mother and Kenyan father) that they did not take the time to understand who he was.

When Bush left office the the federal deficit(thats the difference between what was taken in and what was spent) was $455 Billion Dollars. In the first 9 months under Obama, the federal deficit reached 1.3 Trillion dollars, thats almost 3 times as much, and let us not forget that the last two years of Bush’s Administration the Democrats were in control of the budget. By the way what the heck is 1400B? I guess you aren’t aware that there is number higher than Billion. I think it is time for a Constitution Convention. Let’s kick them all out, under “RECALL”, and start over again, with individuals and a new set of rules. First, TERM LIMITS FOR ALL. Second, NO PAYMENTS AFTER LEAVING YOUR POSITION. In other words, as is currently the law, an elected official only needs to serve ONE term. That official will always receive their salary for the rest of their lives. Once they die, their spouses receive it, along with benefits. These jokers voted all this in FOR THEMSELVES. They don’t even pay into the Social Security program, because they will NEVER NEED IT. They get paid for life. These repeals will benefit our country, not only in terms of saving taxpayer dollars, but will also encourage HONEST people to want to serve in these positions. HONEST people already know that you must be a crook to play the little political games in DC, and most just don’t have the stomach for that.
The last thing we need is a constitutional convention. That would open up the ENTIRE constitution to be redone by the morons of the day. They could revise it so that only democrats and minorities have voting rights, only one party is eligible to be elected and so on and on. I think you mean we need to AMEND the constitution.

If they are all publically financed you would see a lot of people who would run, not because they want to serve the country, but because they would have a lot of money they could spend on things like hotel rooms and fine food.

Higher taxes will just make matters worse. Many small businesses are at their breaking points. At some point, you make mroe “profit” by throwing your hands up in the air, giving up, and quitting your business, afterall, doing nothing means you LOSE nothing. If you don’t make profit or minimal profit as a businessman or woman, than why bother when you can do nothing and lose nothing or even gain temporary unemployment benefits? Producers will start moving to the feeding troughs and I can’t blame them.
You better learn good survival skills such as identifying what wild plants and animals are good for eating. We may very well live in a world where freedom means eating rat burger not unlike the movie Demolition Man. All you libs, just don’t knock on my door begging for food. Only problem is that the nuts in control of government would like to take away all your weapons if they could. An armed people is too dangerous in their little world because an armed people can “hunt” and a hunter doesn’t need government for their every need–and thus the hunter is independent and does not need the politician…. I think you get the picture.
By the way, a year or so ago, I recall hearing/reading/seeing (I forget where or why) that on average hunters are more financially sound than the general American public. That doesn’t mean they are rich. That doesn’t mean that there are no bankrupt hunters. It just meant that on average, the hunters of our society live more within their budgets.

(Like foreign aid to ALL countries, buying private land for no other purpose than having the government own it, giving to charities, etc.) Is it the tea-party people who don’t like paying taxes that are going to be wasted? Is it the people who doesn’t like the government paying $600 for a toliet seat? Is it the people who want to use the government money to buy votes? I doubt if you are old enough to know but when Reagon cut taxes, the amount of tax the government collected went UP. The reason was that once the taxes go above a certain level, the tax payers go to accountants to find loopholes. That’s how the rich can get buy so well; they can afford to pay the accountants. But the middle class and poor can’t; they must generally work out what they are to pay themselves and they don’t know the loopholes.

As for the 2000 vote, good ol Al Gore lost every single recount and how many where there, 3, and he lost each one, the supreme court stopped him and the only thing he could was cry like a winey baby, that his election was taken from him, quit living in the past, its old news. Right now we need to get rid of all incumbents from both parties and vote in representatives and senators who value the constitution and who will quit spending us down the road to socialism. The Supreme Court stopped the recounts when Gore and friends wanted to pick and choose which precincts they would recount. It was also obvioius that many of the counters were altering the cards to either disqualify them (show two votes in the same race) or to vote for a person when the voter hadn’t voted for either side. I can’t recall a single recount that Gore didn’t lose. The Dems wanted ONLY Miami counted and the recount officals insisted it had to be the whole state AND the absentee military voters too. The Dems didn’t want that. Even when they counted only Miami he still lost.

People on social security have been hammered more than anyone else so far. Now people like you should be thrilled that the people that have worked for a living are getting screwed.

A benevalent Dictator? Well, it might help, if you could find one. The real problem is that there ISN’T one! Every person has his own agenda and what might be benevalent for one person is definately NOT for another one.
What we REALLY need for all our leaders are people who are willing to accept a set group of laws guaranteeing freedom to as many people as possible and follow those laws. We have the laws – called the US Constitution – but it seems most politicians want to ignore them while doing what they can to help themselves by removing the freedoms for others.
There are two ways to have freedom: Take it from everyone else so you have it all or share it with everyone else so everyone has the same amount. Too many people believe they should just take it all for themselves rather than allow others to be free too.
Karolyn reminded me of a point I’d like to make. Probably, whoever gets elected, we are screwed anyway. It would take a strong politician indeed to cut off the millions of people who are now getting their support from Government (I’m including Government employees). I think the probabilities are well greater than even that we are on the slippery slope to collapse. So my advice is to do everything you can to prepare yourself for that event.
However, meanwhile, we should continue to fight the good fight and hope for the best. Who knows, the citizens may finally wake up to the reality that the Government is just one Big Gang who are going to look out for themselves first.
DaveH, in order to stop welfare, any politician would first have to relinquish all control and ties with big business. Some time would have to pass with no “corporate welfare” in order to have an actual grounded economy emerge. Also, cut income tax way down or eliminate it. Then and only then can you begin to unwind welfare…first by cutting down on the size of the checks and then cutting them off altogether…over a period of time people would begin to go back to work as it would ince again be necessary in order to have any quality of life.

The blacks are angry because they are losing jobs at three times the rate of whites. Many are being pushed out of jobs by illegals who work longer hours for less pay. The Hispanics are angry because too much backlash has prevented Obama from forcing amnesty on us in time for the election. The environmentalists are angry because of his botched handling of the Gulf Oil Disaster, which made a bad situation much worse. Al, the old idea of “Indentured Servant” was a form of slavery. They had to work until their “debt” (usually incured against the will of the servant) was paid off. The “master” would add their costs of food and clothing to the debt and it was a hundred times the actual cost. Instead of paying off in seven years as the history books stated, they never paid off.
And the government is doing the same thing now. They run up a debt that the “servants” (us) are to pay off and claim it is all for us. It continues to go up every year since the money we pay them is never enough to cover what they say we owe. To make sure that we can’t get enough to payout, they keep raising the amount we must pay to insure we have only the bare minimum for ourselves. And if they take enough that we don’t even have the bare minimum, well, they can simply charge us more for it.
Is there a way to repeal this obamanation?

You must be new around here cause I know lots of gay folk who spoke out time and time again against CONGRESS as it ran up the debt. The current Congress just happens to be Democrat and is running up the debt MANY TIMES faster than previous Congresses.
One thing is different this time. Lots and lots of people who ALSO COMPLAINED about congress running up the debt have formed a movement called the Tea Party movement to help draw attention to not only the current Congress debt behavior but also the current admin plans to create a socialist paradise here in the US.
You’re right, Joe, we should scrap the Income Tax, but to replace it with a VAT would be a terrible idea. Talk about grinding the economy to a halt. A Value-Added-Tax would be even more of a paperwork nightmare than the Income Tax is.
The first thing we need to do is cut the Government Spending dramatically. Then to pay for the remaining bill there should be a Flat Tax. Notice I didn’t say Flat Rate Tax. With a Flat Tax every adult would be liable for the same taxes. Then the people who couldn’t afford to pay would be the ones who would have to fill out paperwork explaining why they couldn’t pay. The rest of us would write a check and be done with it. No ridiculous paperwork hoops to jump through as if we were trained seals. And the non-payers would not be allowed to vote until they were once-again (if ever) tax-paying citizens. That way we wouldn’t have people with no skin in the game voting for all kinds of reckless spending. You can bet if we all paid the same amount, the size of government would shrink rapidly. People would be a lot more careful what they voted for if the money was coming out of their own pockets. Of course the politicians aren’t going to willingly design such a tax system because they have a vested interest in keeping the government big.

Read the Constitution, Joe. The President has NO authority to declare war. ONLY CONGRESS CAN DECLARE WAR! Once a war is declared, the President is to command it – but CONGRESS CAN’T. That is one of the problems between Congress and the President. They don’t want to allow the President the control after it has been declared so they either don’t declare war (Korea and Vietnam) and try to control it or they declare it and then try to destroy the President for controlling it without them.
As for our two wars now, Congress declared war in both cases. Check the voting.
Draft? Fine by me. I think we need to draft everyone out of high school anyway. They take basic training and then decided to go military or civilian. If military they stay in for a minimum of two years. If civilian, they work at things like picking up paper, etc. for the same two years.
Most parents don’t like war but understand its need. Take WWII for instance. Do you think that everyone then WANTED their kids to go to war and risk their lives? Not hardly. But they knew the consequences if they didn’t.
The problem now is that many people refuse to face the need for war. They are willing to sacrifice all those killed on 9/11 and all the soldiers who have fought and died since just to win a few politicial points needed at the moment instead of considering what would happen if we DIDN’T go to war with the terrorists. It got rid of the Nazis, it stopped Japan from taking over half the world, and it insured the freedom of Europe (at least for fifty years or so) and it insured we didn’t have to fight all the entire world at the same time – which would have happened once Germany and Japan had conquered everyone else.
So we got rid of the Nazis, 45, and then proceeded to turn over many of the countries who had been subjugated to the USSR to further subjugate them. Some Victory.

The Dems until that time represented the comman worker in Washington. That includes most of the South. The GOP represented the haves.
But when the Dems discovered the minority voting blocks in 1965 they decided that they could buy the votes cheaply – with the common man paying for them. The common man didn’t like seeing his taxes going up to pay for the votes from minority groups. But when he tried to make a point of that with the Dem leaders the common man was ignored. So most changed to the GOP in defense.

I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe.
First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe . Then, I will say a few things about Islam. To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem .
The Europe you know is changing.
You have probably seen the landmarks. But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world. It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration.
All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are, they might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It’s the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot read. You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity. These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are Muslim neighborhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across Europe . These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe , street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.
There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe . With larger congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region. Clearly, the signal is: we rule.
Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam , Marseille and Malmo in Sweden . In many cities the majority of the under-18 population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim neighborhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many cities.
In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims.
Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils. In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims. Non-Muslim women routinely hear ‘whore, whore’. Satellite dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of origin.
In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin . The history of the Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim sensitivity.
In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system. Many neighborhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head scarves. Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels , because he was drinking during the Ramadan.
Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of anti-Semitism since World War II. French is now commonly spoken on the streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya , Israel . I could go on forever with stories like this. Stories about Islamization.
A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live in Europe . San Diego University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now. Bernhard Lewis has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century.
Now these are just numbers. And the numbers would not be threatening if the Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there are few signs of that. The Pew Research Center reported that half of French Muslims see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France . One-third of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks. The British Centre for Social Cohesion reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in favor of a worldwide caliphate. Muslims demand what they call ‘respect’. And this is how we give them respect. We have Muslim official state holidays.
The Christian-Democratic attorney general is willing to accept sharia in the Netherlands if there is a Muslim majority. We have cabinet members with passports from Morocco and Turkey .
Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus drivers, to small-scale riots. In my country, the Netherlands , 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II. And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat. Yet there is a danger greater danger than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing. The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine. An Islamic Europe means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America – as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs. With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome , Athens and Jerusalem .
Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts. My generation never had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by people who fought for it with their lives. We can repeal what they pass – if we have a government willing to do it. The real problem with many of our politicians (both parties) is that if one party does get something passed the other party generally won’t touch it because things will get reversed sooner or later.
Long years ago before the Dems locked up Congress, the system used to have a Republican Congress and President for awhile and then a Democrat one. Each time things changed, the new party would get rid of all the old things that were bad and then pass some good and bad things themselves.
But once the Dems locked up Congress for 50+ years or so, the GOP refused to get rid of their mistakes because they knew that the Dems would seek revenge after the next election if they did.
The only way we can save America is to go back to getting rid of the bad things – like Oblamacare.

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.
Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ‘ 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.
We hear the grievances.

And Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for ‘deserving’ white kids..? Is it really white America ‘S fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?
Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?
As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?
Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

I was just recently labeled that for my concerns over something I discovered regarding our 401Ks, and IRAs. In the past couple of months I’ve been unable to find any follow-up information and thought that perhaps it had been dropped. It begins with a new regulatory process labeled, according to the artical, as CFR, Part 1, RIN 1545-BJ04. This will strip the tax incentives from employers to offer traditional IRAs and 401Ks, and encourage Congress to convert these to, what were called GRAs- Guaranteed Retirement Accounts, the assets of these accounts to be “government approved insturments (gov. bonds and treasuries)! This was being stated as the work of Rep. George Miller (D- Calif.) and Dr. Teresa Ghilarduccii of The Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis, both are members of the White House Middle Class Task Force. Then I understand that the new Financial Reform Bill will require employers to offer just such IRAs as were discribed in the artical! I guess all conspiricies aren’t theorys, are they??

You are correct. I have some very nervous friends when they think of their 401K’s. To make things even more interesting, I understand it will be treasury notes ONLY. No bonds. Bonds have a set interest rate; treasury notes can actually go down in value. And when they do pay, they pay at one of the lowest interest rates. So the retirement accounts will not only be switched to the government (just like SS) but will also be in the lowest paying group.
But there are about 6 trillion dollars in retirement accounts that Oblama and friends could now have available to spend. If his goal really IS to break the country financially, he can’t afford to leave that money in the hands of those who earned it, now can he?

The revocation of the Glass Steagal Act and the strenghtening of the Community Reinvestment Act. Those are the main causes of the Economic Colapse. Bush warned of the problems in Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac as early as 2002. It was the Democrats who were reticent to do anything about the looming crisis along with the RINO’s (Spector, Collins, Snow etc.) You need to study economics a little bit closer.

Every time in the past when taxes went up a LOT and they went up above a set value, the actual money the government collected dropped either because people quit reporting it OR because more people made a point to find the loopholes. And there are plenty of loopholes if you can afford to look for them.
I’m expecting just that now.

Let’s go a little further. Require that the treasury be disbanded. Originally there was NO treasury except what tax money came in. The government issued coins – not paper. When they did issue paper, it was required that there was enough gold to back up the paper. That’s what USED TO BE in Ft. Knox. I’d be surprised if there was an ounce of gold there now.
The reason the banks failed during the Depression was because the government had set the price of gold. The bankers learned they could sell that gold for more than the American dollar offered, so they did. When the people found out about it, they made a “run” on the banks, demanding the gold the banks were supposed to have to cover the paper. FDR and friends declared ownership of gold illegal and turned the entire money thing over to four families – FDR’s family was one of them. Three of the families sold out to the Rothchilds in the Netherlands – the fourth family. And the Rothchilds have run our money system ever since.
The reason Ron Paul wants an audit is that there is nothing to stop the treasury from printing all the money it wishes. They can then send any amount of it to the Rothchilds who uses it to trade with other country’s money. And they do. That’s how they make their own money. What he is afraid of – and rightly so – is that there is far more American money in the world than just what we think is there. Enough to more than bankrupt this country (again – it happened in 1933). He simply wants to find out just how bad off we really are.

Here’s something you can do. Garner five freinds and try balancing the budget. Want lower taxes/ Where’s the replacement revenue coming from (not theoretcially…but for real0. Want to cut SSI? Ask someone if they’ll agree with lowering thier SSI payments. Want to lower business txes/ Ask the businessperson if they’ll trade lower taxes for elimination of a tax credit in the same amount.
Corporate taxes don’t raise prices..corporations do. Usually for two reasons. They want to keep making the huge profit margins. And they are the ones able to undercut small business because they have GOP tax credits and decudtions written for them. i.e. family versus Agricorporate farms.

You simply cut one of the main expenses of the government – all that give-away money you and your friends draw and assume will always be there as the LAST thing the government would ever want to get rid of. Corporate welfare can also go – after the biggy. And that welfare spending would include ALL the ‘freebies’ the welfare people know and love so much.
Then you cut off all the foreign aid (more ‘free’ money for welfare recipients) and the money the feds give all the charities each year. By the time you’ve done all that, you are down to about 30% of what we are spending now. To recover even more, you take all those government people looking at a loss of jobs and put them to work finding all the wasted money the government spends each year. By the time you get done, you might even find the government has enough money to pay each and every one of us each year. You could certainly cut most taxes.
