Barack’s Ignoble Award

Well, now it’s official. Barack Hussein Obama has just won the highest honor that the elitists of the international left can bestow on one of their own.
His very own Nobel Peace Prize. Imagine that!
And what has our president done to deserve this lofty honor? Why, in the words of an infamous “Saturday Night Live” sketch, nothing, absolutely nothing. I’ll come back to that hilarious skit in a moment. But first, let’s look a little closer at the curious timing of Obama’s award.
Did you know that the Nobel Committee’s own regulations require that all nominations be postmarked by Feb. 1? This means that—if the rules were followed—Barack Obama was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize a mere 12 days after he was sworn into office.
Twelve days in office and he’s already being considered for a Nobel Peace Prize? Give me a break! Does anyone anywhere really believe that this is how it actually happened?
Let me suggest something that strikes me as incredibly obvious: The Nobel Committee broke its own rules to give Obama the award. Can’t you imagine a committee meeting with someone shouting the Norwegian equivalent of “Rules? Rules? We don’t need no stinkin’ rules.”
And of course it’s true. When it comes to honoring one of their own, and advancing the cause of their dubious socialist schemes, the elitists of the international left don’t need no stinkin’ rules. They can do whatever they want. That’s why they hate the very idea of being bound down by the chains of a constitution. These power-hungry sycophants always and everywhere love monopolies and dictatorships, so long as it’s one of their own who is in charge. That’s why they are so enraptured with the United Nations.
But I digress. The plain and simple fact is that this year’s selection was rigged. This is far from the first time that the noble idea of a “peace prize” was prostituted to serve the ignoble ambitions of the left.
Do you remember in 1994, when the Nobel Committee gave the honor to a thief and murderer named Yasser Arafat? It’s true that Arafat shared the award with the then-prime minister and foreign minister of Israel. But still, giving a “peace” prize to the father of modern terrorism? Arafat gloated about using the most heinous murder of innocent civilians to advance his aims.
Oh, by the way, he also stole tens of millions of dollars from the very Palestinians he supposedly led to finance a life of luxury on the French Riviera and various world capitals. In a sane world, he would have been tried for murder and executed.
Instead, he was the most frequent visitor to Bill Clinton’s White House among all so-called world leaders. What a travesty.
If that wasn’t enough to make you rush to the nearest vomitorium, how about the winners in 1973? In case you’ve forgotten, that’s when Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and North Vietnam’s Lu Duc Tho shared the award for negotiating the Vietnam peace accords. If you remember that Communists describe “peace” as “when all opposition has been eliminated,” then you’ll have to admit the committee got it right: Kissinger and gang made sure all opposition to a communist takeover of South Vietnam got slaughtered. Way to go, Mr. Secretary.
But you don’t have to be a mass murderer, or even open the door to it, to be honored by the Nobel Committee. Slavish devotion to the left’s latest cause is often enough. How else would you explain the selection two years ago of former Vice President Al Gore? Even if you bought into all the skewed science and deliberate deceptions in “An Inconvenient Truth,” can you really contend with a straight face that he deserved a Nobel Peace Prize?
Well, okay, I’ll grant you. He has done more to earn it than our Teleprompter-in-Chief. But that’s not saying much.
By an extraordinary coincidence, two days before the award was announced, “Saturday Night Live” opened its Oct. 3 show with a skit skewering Barack Obama for accomplishing “nothing, absolutely nothing” since Inauguration Day.
In case you missed it, the sketch featured actor Fred Armisen portraying the president and delivering a very sober speech to the American public. Here’s just part of that delicious put-down:
“There are those on the right who are angry. They think that I’m turning this great country into something that resembles the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany. But that’s just not the case. When you look at my record, it’s very clear what I’ve done so far—and that is nothing. Nada. Almost one year and nothing to show for it.”
As he spoke, a checklist of promises appeared on the screen—global warming, immigration reform, gays in the military, limits on executive power, torture prosecutions, closing Guantanamo Bay, withdrawing from Iraq, healthcare reform, and so on. Armisen, as Obama, admitted very honestly how little his administration had accomplished.
“Remember,” he said. “I can do whatever I want. I have a majority in both houses of Congress. I could make it mandatory for all gays to marry, and require all cars to run on marijuana. But do I? NO!”
He then closed with this wonderful admission: “So looking at this list, I’m seeing two big accomplishments: JACK and SQUAT!”
You’ve got to admit, sometimes the liberals get it right.

Perhaps the committee recognizes President Obama’s remarkable ability to inspire the United States and most of the world to peacefully resolve our differences. After the loser the US had as President, regaining respect and cooperation, when necessary, from other nations is an extraordinary feat.
And maybe you are as stupid as the committee is. Maybe I now understyand why he is always apologizing for this country – it is because we have too many fools like you!

I think we all were hoping that Obama was going to be a Great President, even those who did not vote for him. After he won the election, we just said he has won and now we will back our new president. However, now since we see how he is doing; the economy, International affairs, and especially now with the newest terrorist attact at Fort Hood, we must accept the fact that we have made the wrong decision. President Obama, whoever he is really, is not standing up for America.

Well, as to the what will the United States resemble in four years, it is not pretty, and probably difficult to believe. You recall that we are technically insolvent today. On top of this, we have just spent and/or committed to spending approximately 40 Times our entire savings for the history of the USA (US Bank Deposits reported at FDIC.GOV)China wants to cash in their Treasury Bills and the World G20 are now negotiating on what they shall use as the new basis for international trade because they have lost all faith in the US Dollar. In the mean time, NOTHING and I do mean NOTHING is being done to fortify and grow our manufacturing industry which can exponentially grow the economy within months . . . Like the ITC (Investment Tax Credit) Which costs taxpayers nothing. This is why these Washington Charlatans must be stopped now, before they spend one more Dollar of your money and mine. Right Now.

Also, you could have also told them that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. We could have avoided the Iraq war too, unless we were really intent on that invasion. We would be paying a fortune for our automobiles right now if we let the American auto manufacturers and their unions have their way. The only way to prosperity is hard work and sacrifice. Now as far as Unions go – my forefathers fought and died for decent working conditions to eliminate the sweat shops. If people would have talked like this about FDR during the big one, they would have been thrown in jail or beat in the public square, and rightfully so. But this was all done in an attempt to discredit all this admin did, in order to win the next election. It did work, but it was all lies. If you read about Obama’s Czar’s, you will see they all agree that there should be a world government, one government for all. I tried to support him at first, but after he started apologizing to our enemies for us being sucessful, and after he started giving the terrorist in Abu Gharib lawyers and rights, while attacking our former president to all our enemies, and after he gave billions of dollars to GM and Chrysler to buy future votes from the UAW, and after he said we were not a Christian nation, and after he said something was an affront to his muslim faith, and after he decided to take our taxpayer money and pay for abortions overseas, and after he spent more money in 8 months that the previous admin spent in 8 years, after his party continually bitching about the republicans spending, well, the way I see it, he pretty much burned his bridges with me. Plus, lets do some comparisons of the things Barack has done, and just wonder how the liberal press would have reacted to it, if George W. Bush was the perpetraitor of such events. What if Bush was the 1st president that had to have a teleprompter installed to get him through a press conference? Wouldnt the press had crucified him and said it was proof how inept he is, and that he is controlled by smarter men? You bet they would have. Barack gets a pass. Or if Bush spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura to a play in New York City, would they have approved? No. But Barack did and got a pass. What if Bush reduced your retirement plans holdings of GM stock by 90 percent, and gave the unions a majority stake in GM, would you approve? You would have crucified him again, yet Barack did this and gets a pass. What if Bush gave Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive in incorrectly formatted DVD’s, when Gordon Brown had given him a thougtful and historically significant gift. Would you have approved? Of course not, you would have called him a dummy, but yet Barack did this and gets a pass. If Bush gave the Queen of England an IPOD with videos of his speeches, would you have thought this to be embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky? Of course you and your liberal press would have, but Barack did this, and again, got a pass. If Bush visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent “Austrian language”, would you have brushed it off as a minor slip? No way. Again, you and your liberal press would have had his head, and written how stupid and careless he is. Yet Barack did this, and yet again, got a pass. If Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisors, with people who cannot seem to keep current with paying their income taxes, again, would you approve? No, you would have hung him for this, and rightfully so. But yet, oh yeah, once again, Barack did this and gets a pass. Now, and to further go on, I must say that if Bush was so spanish illiterate, as to refer to “Cinco de Quatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador, when it was the 5th of May, (Cinco de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment and approved? No, you and your liberal press would have hung him high on a tree for this. Yet, Barack did this, and once again, received the pass. If Bush mis-spelled the word “advice” would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and his spelling of potato as potatoe? Oh yeah. But see, Barack got a pass. If Bush had burned 9000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have called him a hypocrite? Barack got a pass. If Bush Ok’d flying Air Force One low over Manhatten, followed by a fighter jet, causing panic, would you think they had forgotten what happened on 9-11. Barack got a pass. If Bush failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the midwest, with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into some major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence? This was done to Bush, but once again, Barack Obama was given a pass by the press. Now the same can be said for the chaplaincy program for the Illinois State Police. The Mosque Foundation websitereports that Sheikh Kifah Mustapha recently completed a four day training session in Springfield, Illinois to become the first certified Muslim chaplain for the Illinois State Police.
Mustapha’s name appears on a list of unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) Hamas financing trail, which ended with sweeping convictions in November of 2008. On this list he is identified as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee.

I have yet read, seen, nor heard what Obama has actually done to deserve the award. All I hear is lame excuses to why he got it. I agree with some that one of our Generals fighting in Afghanistan or Iraq should have gotten it, as they has done more for peace than Obama has… Unless you count bowing to foreign leaders, or apologizing about our country. Of course I am certainly glad that G. W Bush 43 did NOT get the award.
I really suspect what got Obama the award is this: It was his humble arrogance, his willingness to stoop to the level of puppy dog for all of the world leaders, his willingness to push things through congress in a hurry because we have no time to wait, but take 6 months choosing a dog for his kids… I am sure all of these things that aroused the Nobel Committee’s attention…

I have many friends in the military, most of whom are currently in Iraq or Afghanistan. Not a single one of them supports Obama’s administration. In fact, some have said that they feel that Obama and the liberal Democrats are a far greater threat to America than the enemies the soldiers face every day. Soldiers are being asked to risk their lives for political agendas instead of concrete goals. In my day, a soldier was’nt sent to die for his country. He was sent to make the enemy die for theirs. We wouldn’t have to worry about Gitmo, because if they shot at us, they died in the field. It’s not pretty and it’s not popular, but it’s war – not a ladies auxiliary meeting. These politicians tie the hands of our military, give them rediculous rules of engagement, cut their funding, and limit their manpower. There’s an old saying that “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions”. If that’s the case, Obamas got alot to work with and he’s taking us there pretty fast. Betty Montgomery – Republican State Auditor and Jim Petro – Republican Attorney General – watchdogs of the public service employees retirement funds were not barking when money was being miss-appropriated from their investments. No one prosecuted and no money returned.
There was no election nor a special election, but somewhere along the way Montgomery and Petro changed positions – Montgomery was the Republican Attorney General working in Columbus while Petro was the Republican State Auditor working out of Cinn.
Sorry fellow, but when I think any party member has so strong of a foothold they can make or change the rules as they go for whatever reason without putting it to a vote – that is not my form of Democracy by the people or for the people.
Also, why does every Republican who gets in office wants to bankrupt the SS program? Bush Jr. tried to privatize it. He was just one of a few more that has tried this. Under Republican guidance many more groups are added to the SS roles.
Why is it, the representatives of the Republican party are always trying to dip in to the little peoples successful programs? Could it be because maybe a Democrat was successful in implementing programs for the people and they just can not accept the fact that the programs were not of their making? They really should try working for our citizens and our country instead of big business, pharmaceuticals and money making Insurance Company’s profits over the needs of the citizens while lining their pockets with the big bucks in the process.

But the final blow as to my feelings for the Republican party came in 2000 when I realized their control was so great on the non thinking majority that only the votes they wanted to be considered were counted and thinking citizens need not cast a vote because it became provisional and filed in the round file. The courts done the job for us.

I’ve experienced the total lack of respect from my representatives, and I have also recieved positive responses from others…specifically addressing my concerns. Boxer, Pelosi and Feinstein have never been specific or even mentioned the issues I wrote them about in their responses. I certainly am being pro-active in the upcominig 2010 election to make sure they never represent California or America again. They are, and always have been, a part of the “Country Club” crowd in politics. They treat their constituents like a door mat!

I dont know where you live, but they are spending money where I live like drunken sailors on the schools. One put in an olympic size swimming pool, new football field, and state of the art science center. Another built a brand boys and girls gyms. But see, all this spending, and it goes up year after year, and it does not improve education. We spend far too much on the school systems, and have created a property tax fiasco where people are losing their houses because they cant pay it. The solution to things isnt spending more money, its utilizing the money they spend. Sorry, but these schools didnt need an olympic size pool, and a new boys and girls gyms. But as long as we have this double standard that one race is allowed to not have to be disciplined in school, for fear of lawsuits, the education level is never going to change. Is he responsible for every bad thing? No. However, he has made nothing better and has made a very bad situation much, much worse.
Just some facts for you….
People, other than you, decided that he deserved it. Like it or not. Too bad for you. Go to your bedroom and cry. The rest of the world could give two craps about the people in this country who disparage their own President. They probably feel sorry for the rest of us, who act as patriots and support a new President, in the effort to clean up the humongous pile of elephant crap left behind by those who cut taxes while starting two wars leaving our troops without decent body armor, passed a Medicare bill to the tune of 1.1 trillion dollars, hijacked our privacy rights, while committing torture and participating in so much corruption that the list of guilty is so long it takes 5 minutes to type. For the first time in history, the world looks at our citizens like you and is glad they aren’t Americans.
For someone with “eyeswideopen” it appears that you couldn’t find your butt with your own two hands. I’ve done more to deserve the moniker of “American” than simply being born on American soil. I’ve fought for this great country, bled for it, killed for it, and although I didn’t die, I showed up for the opportunity to on many occasions. The America that I represent is responsible for many of the European countries being free today. We sacrificed for the future of our children and our children’s children, while morons like you wept for the enemy. Enemies that killed my uncle at Pearl Harbor and my fellow brothers at the Battle of the Bulge, I only wish I had been able to send more of those enemies to Hell. You call me un-American for disagreeing with the President? That’s exactly what you brain dead liberals always say when someone disagrees with you. But in America, we have the right to disagree, and as far as I’m concerned, if you’d like to take that right away, feel free to pick up a weapon and stand with the enemy. Yes, I disparage this President just like he has disparaged my country. He apologizes to the world and coddles dictators as if he speaks on behalf of real Americans. I have no respect for him because he hasn’t earned it. You think your a patriot because you follow his leadership? You’re just a lemming. People like you talk about todays interrogation methods as torture. You have no idea what torture is. I can tell you about what real torture is, but it would probably be too much for your fragile, panty waste mind. And as far as other countries? I couldn’t give two craps for what they think. Or you either for that matter.
Todd, Good, call your President a Facist, Socialist, and Communist, oh that’s right you just inferred that didn’t you. You don’t have the nerve to come right out and state your true beliefs. But it is evident that you are biased, as you read what Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman (economics) had to say about the financial crisis and how Obama has held this country together while facing a depression. You are never going to give Obama credit for anything, so why try and hide behind a facade?

I don’t think my previous statements were “inferred”. They were pretty obvious. But for the benefit of the rest of you slack jawed, traitorous cowards, I’ll spell it out for you. First of all, he’s not my president. He’s just the man who happens to hold the office right now. A real president could make decisions. Hell, he’s got a majority House and Senate and can’t even get his own party to get anything done. He did nothing as a Senator either. The very definition of fascism describes the M.O. of his administration, so I guess he is a fascist (which is the correct spelling by the way – but I guess education wasn’t your thing). He has also shown a socialist agenda, which would make him a socialist. I never said he was a communist (but you don’t really pay attention do you?). Yes I am biased. Being biased simply means that you lean towards a certain way of thinking. I lean towards things like duty, honor, morality, accountability, and doing the right thing instead of what’s easy.
