Obama to Abandon the Dollar?

There is a growing movement in the international community for a new reserve currency system that would greatly diminish the role of the U.S. dollar.
China and Russia have been the loudest and most insistent anti-dollar agitators so far, but they’ve recently been joined by the rest of the “BRIC” gang (India and Brazil), while France and other European nations have also begun carping about the dollar’s dominance.
While acknowledging that such chatter can be bearish for the dollar (and therefore bullish for gold), I’ve dismissed the likelihood that the dollar will ever be deposed as the king of fiat currencies.
Now I’m not so sure. You see, there are many advantages that come along with having your national currency serve as the international medium of exchange. Primary among these is the ability to export many of your economic problems to other regimes. So it’s a good and desirable position to be in.
For this reason, throughout human history, the role of international reserve currency has naturally devolved to the dominant military power of the age.
During the Roman Empire, the visage of Julius Caesar could be found on coins circulated throughout the Western world. When England ruled the seas during the Victorian era, the pound was the standard-bearer for all the world’s currencies.
And after America grew to become the world’s most powerful nation in both military and economic terms in the first half of the 20th Century, the U.S. dollar became the top dog among the world’s fiat currencies.
It wasn’t easy to attain this lofty status. The price was dear in terms of treasure and blood. But at this point, with no other military superpower extant, it’s not that difficult of a position to maintain. All that’s needed is to maintain the current level of military might and reasonable economic growth.
In other words, given our current status, it would be very difficult to lose our role as the world’s economic bell cow. If it were to happen, history would judge the event as one of the greatest economic and political failures since the dawn of human civilization.
Frankly, the only way this could happen would be if we allowed it to happen. Which is why I’m worried now.
When you consider that President Barack Obama has traveled to Russia with an armful of concessions, eager to negotiate on equal terms with this second-tier nation, then you begin to think that perhaps he doesn’t understand America’s position in the world.
When you consider that he has already toured Europe’s capitals apologizing for our previous arrogance—and is pushing through “green” legislation that will unfairly burden our economy for no real gain in global carbon emissions and is generally trying his best to make sure our overseas friends and enemies like us—then you begin to wonder if Obama really wants America to keep its mantle of leadership.
Given all this, it seems at least plausible to me that, if presented with some new global reserve scheme with roles for the world’s major trading currencies, that the Obama administration might acquiesce in the interests of “fairness” or “justice.”
Remember, Secretary Timothy Geithner has already been guilty of a slip of the tongue along these lines.
Such a development would be an absolute travesty—a complete abandonment of duty to America’s best interests. And I’d have to judge it, still, as being highly improbable.
But it is more possible now than at any time since the dollar first achieved its lofty status as the king of fiat currencies. And that should worry us greatly.
I believe Barack Obama has his own agenda to fulfill a higher calling — that of global leader. That’s why he has gone around the world apologizing for America. Henry Kissinger stated that Obama is being primed to usher in the “New World Order” that will have a one-world dictator and a one-world currency. That new world order will likely be the EU. For Obama to assume a global leadership position, he must first prove himself to the world that he is a socialist. He is attempting to do just that through his distribution of wealth philosophy, the stimulus, nationalization of banks, government take-over of General Motors, and now socialized healthcare, which will ultimately bankrupt this country. If he succeeds with healthcare “reform”, his next step will be to abandon Israel and align himself with Muslim nations. In his own words from his book, The Audicity of Hope, he states, “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” Once that is accomplished, he is
then free to assume his sought-after position of global leader. Pray you won’t be here to see it happen.
You are so right! This man has to be stopped and his blind follower waken up. He is trying to dazzle people throwing money at them with the money for clunkers and other programs that are going to be payed by all of us later on. Taxes are going to be raised although during his campaign ” he promised ” he wouldn’t , but what are Mr Obamas promises but lies disguised as gifts that aren’t. He is already talking about raising taxes and already putting the bandage before the wound , he can’t help it we are bankrupt, we are in a resection and he is making it worse. Spending money the country doesn’t have and selling us to China. That is the truth!

I believe BO is seeking world leadership and that he truly is a “closet muslim” with the charisma described in the Bible which has caused many Americans to be blinded. He may be personable, but why didn’t Americans look beyond the speeches? Blindness is the only answer.

Note: God said that we are to “Be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth.” One woman who I only spoke with one time and who I learned was engaged told me: “I will NEVER have any children!! … Would you just look at this society today? I would never forgive myself if I brought a child into this world.” While I would never enter a marriage at any time with this attitude, her comment was somewhat understandable in 1981 with how our society has fallen since 1960.

Your writing of Matthew 6:19-24 (King James Version) is correct. Certainly, gaining eternal life is more important than exactly what happens in our current life.
However, to imply that real Christians (which does not include those who simply claim to be among them) are hypocrites if they are concerned about this life, is something I do not understand.
1) Are you saying that Christians should hope to die early and leave this world?
2) Are you saying that Christian women who become pregnant should have abortions to send the lives in their wombs directly to heaven and keep those lives from having to live in this world?
3) Are you saying that Christians should not donate to charities to help people needing food or clothing? (Certainly, those who are not conservative donate far less that those who are conservative. I do not have a review replacing “conservative” with “Christian”.)
4) Are you saying that Christians should not care how the government is operating, whether their children are offered a quality education, if someone steals from them (due to forgiveness), etc.?
If you are saying any of these four statements, then you do not understand the Holy Bible.
Why did Jesus the Messiah heal anyone while on this earth prior to accepting His Father’s will to die on the cross for you and for everyone else? Do you believe that, if Jesus loved everyone, then Jesus would not have healed anyone to make their lives shorter?
Medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses. policemen, security officers and lots of other people have the saving of lives as one of their main jobs. Does this mean they are all not Christian?
Finally, Barack Obama claimed to be a “devout Christian”. If he had stated that he was agnostic, he only attended the church that was questioned for twenty years because he wanted to socialize with others and he thought it would be healthy for his two girls to listen to that pastor who used profanity, that would make more sense then to claim to be a “devout Christian”.
He allready has triumphed. When he took the nails for us, and died on that cross, and descended into hell and wrested the keys of death from Satan, and Satan allready knows he is defeated, so its his job to decieve and take with him as many as he can. Its pre-determined, Satan is going down for the long count.

I do believe that when the Egyptians were bearing down on Moses and his people, that God rescued them by parting the Red Sea for them to cross. I do believe that Paul was falsely imprisoned, and God rescued him by making the guards fall asleep and opening the cell door. I do believe that Paul was on a ship destined to sink, and God rescued him by washing them all up on a beach. I do believe, that when Jesus walked on the water, and called Peter out of the boat, and he walked then started to sink, that Jesus reached his hand out and rescued him from drowning. There are many, many other times God has rescued his people, and the biggest one of all, when he sent Jesus to die on the cross, to rescue us from a permanent death, and built a bridge to Himself for us to cross. So you are in error to say God never rescued anyone. I know this for a fact, because He rescued me from the hell I was living in for 40 years. Now I can truly say life is good. So God does rescue us, but if you dont believe, well, thats on you, and good luck with that. He will only rescue you if you call upon Him. He wont force Himself on you. All youve got to do is call. Do you think Obama’s new world order is the same as Nixon’s new world order? Republicans love to use the phrase new world order. Actually the phrase came out of religion, maybe that is why. I am sure that Castro would love to have you come there to be used as a center piece for their great health care system. 20,000 people died last year, because of lack of health coverage. More is predicted to die each year if it is not corrected. There is a problem with health care. As of now I’m healthy, but I feel bad about people who need health care. Everyday I read about people losing their health care. I would like to give them your advice and tell them to leave the country for better health care, but they are dead.

Just a reminder. If the government health care plan was passed today it would not take effect until 2013. If it so necessary to revamp the health care system to save uninsured people why is it set to take place in the future?

You know nothing of Medicare, it is now the best plans in this country, I an lower middle class and went on Medicare in 06 and before that I had what was called the Cadillac HMO for the previous 20 years, Now I can go where I want for health care, pay nothing but the premiums and they are half what my HMO was and am not limited to network doctors, now I can go to Mayo if I want. Oh by the way it is government run (has been since 1965) and similar to Canada’s. Why would we want to go to any other country when we can reform the health care in this country to again be the best. You will see it will be done, there is now the will to do it. Those of us that are old enough remember what good affordable health in this country was before the private sector third party payers decided to rape your pocketbook and thus forcing the government to pick up the tab for those who could no longer afford it. In fact I can remember when it was so affordable most did not feel it necessary to even have insurance, if you did encounter a major medical problem a simple loan from your bank would do it. In 1946 my mom spend a month in the hospital in Rochester MN after having very major surgery and we did not have insurance, the loan to pay for it was paid back by 1952. You see we do know how to do it, if we will not tolerate greed in the system, health care delivery in this country has become about making money the easy way and not health care itself. Last year about 8000 patients from all other countries came to the Mayo Clinic, hardly a rush considering the billions in the world today and do not forget many in this country go to other countries for health care and surgery, ever some insurance companies will pay for it as it is so much cheaper. I even know some who went to Canada for health care services because of the cost and they where very satisfied with it. Doesn’t it raise the question of why is the US and New Zealand the only two countries that still have a private for profit health care system among the developed countries of the world and also the most expensive and no longer the best. Outcomes for 36 countries are now better than the US, three different independent studies have found, all three found the same result on this.
If this new health care system is going to be so great, then why aren’t all the politicians in Washington jumping on it. Instead they have there own health care system and you can bet your last dollar that they won’t drop their’s for the new plan.

Those that are successful are expanding and hiring more people, who all pay taxes and purchase things generating more tax revenue, along with keeping other business alive by buying their products. They should be rewarded with paying less tax, so they may have money in their hands to continue to expand and hire more people. But instead our government punishes them for success. Then I see business like GM and Chrysler, who are full of lazy union workers who dont give a crap, and also full of greedy corporates on the management side, and all they do is fight over getting more money, and neither side has shown competant means of running a business or productive work, yet they get rewarded with billions of dollars. Its all wrong. If Honda, Toyota, Subaru, and Hyundai dont need bailed out, and Ford also, why do these guys? Let them close, and let someone else that can competantly run a business take over. Bad greedy management and bad union contracts is not a reason to collect billions of tax dollars. Not at all.
We’ve all studied socialist/communist/marxist countries with history showing these
countries are inundated with troubled economies, repressed freedoms, and huge social problems. When a government redistributes individual wealth, it destroys personal incentive — to work, earn and excel. Socialized economies leave people with an entitlement mentality, dependent on the government to provide everything for them. For a country’s economy to remain healthy and thriving, we need private individuals to start businesses and employ people. It’s a small majority of people who are entrepreneurs who may become wealthy and seen as the “haves” vs. the “have-nots.” But aren’t they the ones creating jobs for the rest of us, taking all the financial risk? We all have equal opportunity in this country to better ourselves, to get a good education, to earn a good living. It becomes our individual responsibility to make it happen, not the government’s responsibility to give it to us.

This country is looking more like a fascist nation where big government partners with corporations to push out the small business and to move an agenda dictated by the leader. It happened in Nazi Germany and now the same things are unfolding in America. History repeats itself because people never believe this can happen in America. It happens all over the world and once the progressive movement took hold 80 years ago they slowly chipped away at the freedoms we all have enjoyed. Citizens have to live my a moral standard mandated by the administration at the time. A large group of people are disenfranchised and as times go on people become more and more angry until finally anarchy occurs and a dictatorship occurs. We are no nor have ever been a democracy and our individual freedoms should be protected above all. But our schools and politicians keep telling us that we are democracy and the majority rules. Our framers were deathly afraid of a democracy because they knew the disenfranchised would like to the end of the country. We are at a turning point now. I’m all for “improving” oneself, but one needs to be on some what of a fair playing ground. I’m white and I hear other white people saying negative things about other races. They will not give another person a job because of their race. There are 3 evils of the world: communism, racism, and greed. Two of these are alive and well in our country. As of now, our government is needed even though they never run anything very well, but they are much better than the greedy corporations. We need regulations or you will see a continuation of the past 8 months. Then, government can step out of it.
Im white too Don, and you know, right out of high school, I applied to 15 different business’s, and everyone looked me in the eye and said they couldnt hire me because I was WHITE. Yeah, affirmative action. Made it OK to be prejudice, but only towards white people. Ever heard of any law like this against people of color? Not going back to the archaic days? So I joined the military, learned a trade, and have been working non stop for 30 years since then. No unemployment, no food stamps, no governement assistance. I could have easily stood there and said the man was keeping me down, and society was against me because of my color, and it truly was, but I overcame, and I strongly suggest that those who are raised up indoctrinated that a certain color of person is out to get them, and that they will never achieve nothing because of their color, need to look around and see that a black man has rose to the highest level of achievement in the land, and there is no excuse why they cant. Throw all this prejudice baloney aside, and quit installing in peoples minds that they are “held down by the man” because of their color. I was, and if I can overcome it, anyone can. Excuses are a dime a dozen, and the victim is such an easy game to play. But its for losers.

We have tried your way for the last thirty years why then is not our economy healthy and thriving today, you act as it is so great, conservatism has been at its height the last thirty years in this country and look where our thriving economy ended up last fall. People are now looking for something different and it will happen and the world you fear is only in your mind and will not become reality.
We thrived under Reagan, and Clinton screwed it all up, which caught up to him his last 3 years. We still havent fully recovered from Clintons recession, and now Osama Obama is making it 10 times worse, after Mr. Bush had us on the right road.

In response to Don’s comment on racism being alive and well, which I take is one of the two he cited. Im white also. Out of high school, I applied the next day at 15 different business’s. Everyone of them looked me in the eye and told me they could not hire me because I was white. Fact. I joined the military and learned a trade and have worked since. However, I see this reverse racism everywhere, and its tolerated and I hate it. The NBA is 90 percent black, and you know what, those guys deserve those jobs because they are the best. However, they claim racism that there arent more blacks in management, and they want those jobs too. Ok, so lets assume that we need to get more blacks in management to even up some sort of percentage of blacks in NBA management, even though the guys in there now are deserving. Dont we then, if we are going to do this, even up the percentage of white players? And if so, dont we net to allot spots for hispanic and other races also? Why does this not work both ways? The NFL is going the same route. I do not hold anything against the black athelete, but I do hold it against society when there is the constant push that everything needs to be black. Why cant the best guy get the job, regardless of their color? Why does this ratio thing exist on the one hand, where they point out how few upper management people are black, but then there is no call for how few white players there are. Isnt that racist also? But for someone other than a black to call that out, then they would be called a racist and would lose their job. Yet a black player making millions of dollars, can come out and say the NBA is racist because they dont have more blacks in upper management. Does anyone see what Im saying? This is the very sort of thing that makes racism alive and well, and while it seems it is always pointed out that blacks are the victims of racism, I cant help but see it the other way, that racism is perpetuated on the white man, and it is tolerated because of what some dumb racist white people did 100 years ago. How long is the payback period? How long will guys like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson make bukoo bucks stirring up racial tensions? If we are going to ever stop racism, there needs to be charges leveled both ways, not just one way. Payback is not the solution, as I and other whites should not be made victims because I didnt do anything to anybody, and anybody who had something done to them are not around today, and either are those who did it. Cant we move ahead, and quit living in the past? Or are we headed towards a day, when in school we can have “White American’s Week”. Or the NAAWP, or the White College Fund, or the WET TV network. Is that what we are going for, and we will be allowed to have these things? That is the question.

I am a divorced dad. My income is barely middle class and after child support and other obligations of divorce my take home pay drops below the poverty level for me and my kids. But since my divorce in 01, my net worth has climbed like a rocket due to old fashion “dave ramsey” common sense. If I can climb above my situation, so can the average American.

I remember reading an article many years ago by a reporter who was talking to a Cuban official. The Cuban was ranting about how unfair our system was. The reporter asked “Don’t our lowest paid workers in the US, have a higher standard of living than your highest paid?”. To that the Cuban responded “Yes, but then they have to look at all your rich people flaunting their wealth!”. Oh yeah, the politics of envy. Maybe Don, if you worked as hard and took as many risks (both personal and financial) as the rich are willing to, you could join their ranks instead of envying them.

Dave I agree with you, and I see Don’s comments afterwards. Im not rich, Im a 50g a year working man. I see the government as representing me. They pay for a police force in my town that keeps me safe. They pay for a fire dept to control fires. We have the national guard if needed. Local and state politicians heading up brances to keep civil order and anarchy away. All in all, its pretty good. Sure the government wastes all kinds of money, and does things in the interest of their own party instead of the people, and that really sucks, but you know, I feel represented in government, and Im glad we have what we have, because weve got it better here than anywhere else in the world. To John the Carpenter- About Jesus and wealth. Yes, what you said is very true, scriptural truth. It is also written that “the want of money is the source of all evil”. And wherever you get large amounts of money, corruption and greed are prevalent and present, and thats why it is written about it being easier to thread a camel through the eye of a needle that for a rich man to inherit the kingdom of heaven. However, because one is rich, doe’s not automatically make them this way. I know some very rich people, who give 10 percent of their earnings, (tithe) to the church. They give money to this and money to that, and they have a nice house, but not no mansion like some choose to have. In otherwords, even though they are rich, they are good stewards of what God has given them. But on the whole, the camel through the eye fits, because of the greed and corruption money brings. Its often made me wonder what would happen to me if a large amount of money came upon me. I watched a TV show recently here about the first 10 people that won multi million dollar lottery prizes, and I dont know if it was nationwide, or Indiana or the powerball or what, but within 5 years, everyone of them was worse off financially than before they won the money. They all said what I say, that it wouldnt change them, and it did, everyone of them. Money can do some strange things to people, and your right with what you quoted, because Jesus knew that. A lot of people dont realize, that the Bible talks about money more than love or any other subject. Thats how important it is, yet today people get offended if a pastor mentions money. Well, Don, I am a far cry from wealthy and they certainly don’t represent me. Big Government is an attraction for wealthy people who can buy favors. The representatives could care less about you and me. They are in it for money and power. The bigger government grows, the more corruption grows. If you really want to stop corruption then get the government out of business and let the marketplace determine who is doing the best job of supplying the public. The free market would eliminated discrimination much better than any government body. The companies that hired their employees based on bias would soon fall prey (in the free market) to the companies that just hired the most productive workers regardless of sex, age, race, or any other bias. I have seen personally how companies avoid “protected classes” because they know that if the employee turns out to be a lemon they may have a lawsuit on their hands upon dismissal of that employee. I am currently having a heck of a time finding work (age 60) and there is little doubt in my mind that my potential employers see me as a possible lawsuit liability. And I am a hard worker, but how do they find that out without risking an “age discrimination” lawsuit?

Don: Remove your blinders, please. Obama’s policy of trying to “just get along with the rest of the world,” as you say, is naive. The truth is that the rest of the world doesn’t want to just get along with the U.S., except perhaps for our allies. The rest of the world wants to kill our citiizens and destroy our economy because they judge us as having excessive wealth in the face of the world’s poverty. It’s true that this country has been blessed, but I believe it’s because this country was founded on Christian principals, and practised. If you’ve ever visited Philadelphia’s Constitution Hall and read the founding documents, you’d know that our constitution is based on spiritual principals. But I believe in these last few years, God has withdrawn his hand of blessing because we have strayed so far from those principals, removed God from
schools, allowed abortions, divorce, adultery, co-habitation, out-of-wedlock childbirth and same sex unions — and promoted it all through mass entertainment. The moral fiber of our country has changed radically and we are seeing the result.

Obviously, it must be your principle, because thanks to you liberals, slavery is alive and well in the United States. The average citizen spends over 25% of his/her workday working for the government. Some citizens, of course, spend more and some less. What percentage level makes you a slave? If you stop to think a little or do a little research, you would realize that even the southern slaves didn’t spend their entire days working for their masters.
I consider it slavery whenever people are forced to work for someone else who gives nothing in return. In fact, many government agencies not only give nothing in return but also harass good citizens. Government is force, not reason.
Yes, the slaves didn’t work all the time, because the slave owners couldn’t work the slaves and rape their wives at the same time. Yes, I believe in education, hard work, etc., but as Warren Buffet asked the question during the election, “why is my rate of paying taxes a lot lower than my secretary’s” was never answered by the conservatives. On paper the rich pays most of the taxes, but in reality, it is the middle class. We need a fair tax code without loop holes which I know from your stated philsophy you wouldn’t be for. It is easy to run down the people who do not try to offer some kind of service to their fellow man when we know they can offer something, but the total system shouldn’t be on the back of the middle class. Slavery, to me, is when a person is smart, works hard, pays more than his/her fair share of taxes, and can’t make ends meet. When the owner can easily pay more, but doesn’t. Yes, he can quit, but their is a monopoly of business that would treat him the same. He/she can work several jobs at the cost of neglecting his family.
Where do you get your information, Don? All you have to do is look at the income tax booklet. The higher income workers pay not only more money, but they even pay a higher percentage of their earnings to taxes. And if you knew anything about the tax code, you would know that the “loopholes” are almost always deferred taxes, meaning that eventually the government will get their money.
It’s interesting to me that you quote Warren Buffet, who has Billions of dollars. Why, if he’s so charitable (he is a liberal), doesn’t he give all that money to charity?
And you don’t know me, because I do believe in a fair tax system. That is, all adults should pay exactly the same dollar amount, regardless of earnings. The higher-taxed people certainly don’t get more government for their increased payments. In fact, it anything, they get more harassment from government. And if we want their money, we can earn it by providing them with our service or produced goods. Government has a history of wasting money, and that does the citizens no good at all.

Not all income that is not taxed is deferred taxes and even those you pay when your total income is less so you tax is less. Many are not though, pre tax dollars in you paycheck except for your part of pensions are not taxed period, your medical savings accounts are not, your life and health care premiums are not. If I understand you correctly, if you make say thirty thousand a year and your taxes are one thousand dollars then the person making 10 million should only a thousand dollars too. You lie. I work for a Christian conservative company, and you say slave wages? Our guys make 2 bucks an hour less than the liberal Union guys in the same field. However, our guys are driving around brand new 30 thousand dollar vans, completely equiped with company tools. They have a company gas card and pay nothing for it. They get paid vacations and paid holidays, which the union craps dont get. The boss actually knows their name, their wife’s name, their childrens names, and actually cares about them. Our guys dont get laid off, well at least not until Obama came into office and some new guys got it so we’d have money to pay the new raised taxes that the democrats levied on our small business. Clinton years were 10 times better than Bush economy. Bush did not show any leadership as far as regulations, this is why Bush used the TARP money and now the Obama’s stimulus. You mean like the kind of lies Obama tells constantly? His was going to be a transparent administration, yet he has released very little sought after documentation. Yes, Bush jr., Bush senior, and Bill Clinton all contributed to the current situation, but nobody has even come close to the trampling of the law that Obama is creating. Obama distanced himself from the accusations that he had Muslim roots during his campaign, but then bragged about those roots during a speech in Egypt after the election.
This country was founded on the principles of freedom. That means for everyone, including people who are business owners. The only freedom the liberals seem to respect is the freedom to take other people’s freedom away.
For those of you who think government can give prosperity to a country, answer these questions: Why do we have poor countries? Don’t they have governments? Can’t they also just create lots of money and spend their countries into prosperity?
I know what motivates you liberals. You think that you are going to get to feed at the trough. But think again. If you aren’t willing to work hard and sacrifice yourself for your new socialist masters, they will step on you as they would step on any other obstacle in their way. Those of you who couldn’t or wouldn’t work hard enough to be successful in a free-enterprise system are going to fare even worse when the socialist leaders take over and impoverish this country.
Also, I wanted to add that I’m kind of sick of people blaming the president for everything, when in fact Congress creates the laws and the spending bills. The president can only veto those bills, and even then the veto can be over-ridden by Congress. And Congress, by the way, has been controlled by Democrats for all but about 12 of the last 50 years. So, if you really want change you need to pay more attention to what your Congressman is doing.

With the exception of the Kurds, who seem like an unusually tolerant group of Muslims.
I have never persecuted anyone because of their race, age, creed, etc., and I sure have never taken advantage of my fellow human beings, especially against their will, like you liberals do.
I have gathered from your many posts that you are black (and probably Muslim). I have known many blacks that I have enjoyed being around, but the liberal blacks really overdo the race card. And blaming Whitey for all your woes is really trite. In fact, for you to assume someone is prejudiced, just because they are conservative, is bigoted in itself.
Remember that it was Abe Lincoln, who was white, who fought to free the blacks. And he couldn’t have done that without the support of the majority of whites. Coincidentally, Lincoln was a Republican (I am Libertarian), so the people who he freed hurt the ones who helped them by voting almost exclusively as Democrats. Of course, that is because the Democrat party was always the party which offered something for nothing.
You are so indignant about those who took away your ancestors freedom, but seem to have no problem taking away the freedom of others as long as you think it will benefit you. Two wrongs don’t make a right!

Lincoln was republican and was the one who instigated the freeing of the slaves but then the we treated them like shit for most of the next 100 years and it was the efforts of Lyndon Johnson who gave them the laws that gave them back some respect and a fair chance albeit things are still bad for some. There are many blacks who have broken the mold and strive for true freedom but they are a very small minority. The republican house and senate along with the Bush administration already passed the legislation to impliment a new currency (called “the Amero”) in 2006. They just postponed its implimentation until Oct. 2009. No doubt due to the time required to coin enough currency to supply all three countries in the North American Union. And pass the “buck” (no pun intended) on to the next administration. Obama actually said NO to the Amero, though I doubt he can stop it, due to the circumstances.
At the same time the House, Senate, and Bush administration passed legislation to build a superhighway from Canada to Mexico that would allow foreign truckers to haul goods through our country and undercut Americas hard working truckers. A month or so ago the Mexican president was giving Obama “stuff” because Obama refused to keep the Bush administration’s agreements.

Actually it started back at least 15 years before that but repealing Glass-Steagal act during the Clinton administration was the last green light all the banks etc needed to go ahead and rape the American economy and we are now suffering the repercussions of this rape now. You know Dorgan of ND and a few others predicted in about 10 years after it was repealed we would be in the mess we are now. Well, their predictions where correct and the time table they predicted was not far off either. It was predictable and goes to show how powerful their lobby’s are.

I have not seen a democrat act in the best interests of this country since JFK told the Russians to get those missiles out of Cuba. Carter was inconsequential, as he just was there, but at least he tried to figure out what to do, without any success. The balanced budget was smoke and mirrors, and never really happened as it was at first thought to be true, but later found out not to be so. A lot of numbers fudging going on. But heck, I believe I could go in there, and save all the billions by cutting the military and intelligence community’s in half, and balance the budget easily, but we all know what happened to our internal safety when you do this sort of thing. We are still rebuilding our military, and our intelligence pales compared to what it was and what it should be these days. Thank Bill for that, and there just isnt no ifs and buts about it. This is what the guy did. He opened the gates for all of our business’s to move to Mexico and Canada, and really basically sold organized labor down the road, yet they would still vote for him. His NAFTA deal was and still is very damning to the country. He raised taxes more than any president in history. Ever. And I tell you what, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand what happens to people that crossed him on his way up. Just research the Mena Arkansas drug ring, which in the end was on its way to coming down to the then governor Bill Clinton’s office, but while this thing was going on, huh, everyone got killed. The defendants, the lawyers, the witnesses, the cops, anyone that knew anything, dead. They even have suicides on file, yet the person was shot in the back of the head. If you search history, you will find that the “terrible poverty” in America does not hold up. How many people that you know do not have a cell phone, TV, refrigerator, car, etc.? They are making their choices on where to spend their money, which is not the same as “poverty”. Poverty is when you do not have a means to support yourself, which is not the same as not wanting to do work that is “beneath yourself”.
I grant that there is some poverty in the U.S., but it is much lower than anywhere else in the world and many of those in “poverty” are there because they do not have the desire to pull themselves out of it.
We still have people coming into this country that have nothing and they become “wealthy” because of their own efforts.
Remember, the bible also says that the poor will always be with us.
I don’t believe we have the extent of poverty in the US that you find in other countries. Yes we have poor (most of whom live above what most of us lived 100 years ago). I don’t know of any Americans that live in trash landfills as they do in other countries. If a family needs help there are many resources based on other American donations to help them out. The only ones living on the street are mentally ill and don’t want to be indoors or don’t want to follow the necessary rules for getting help.
I have ministered to the so called “poor”, and I have also read books about homelessness, and visited shelters. I have found, that 90 percent of the so called poor, are people from 20 to 40 years old, who have a problem with alcohol, drugs, or sex, and sometimes all three or two of the three. Decisions they have made, have placed them where they are. There is one common denominator of all of them though, and that is they either have no hope, or they have lost their hope. Some take to the program, and want to be helped, and pay attention, and they find and accept Jesus into their lifes, and once they have that hope in their life, many turn their whole life around, and become productive members of society. But yet some, they are convinced that they can do it by themselves, and they never get out. I am all for helping those to the extreme, that are truly seeking help. And I help them. But so many are just looking for a handout, and dont want to work or better themselves, and they are included in what are called the poor. You can help a person just so much, then you become an enabler to them, and they will leetch off you as long as you let them. In the missions here, these people have to do what is expected of them, stay clean from drugs and alcohol, and do work assignments. If they cant meet these simple requirements, they are sent out, because with resources at a minimal, they need to be reserved for those who show the really need them to get better. Our government unfortunately doesnt have this same concern, as they have become enablers of millions of people who sit around and drink and smoke and have sex and mulitiply, living off the taxpayers backs, and as long as the government enables them, this will never change. Never. It is the churches job to take care of the poor, not the governments. But even the church is smart like the missions they run, not to enable people to live a destructive life style. Until you cut the strings and let them hit rock bottom, they will not seek a better life. Its really sad, but sometimes live is……saying no.
This is true, but our government likes to call the poor, the 25 inner city guys sitting on the porch drinking a 40 and smoking cigarettes, and they dont want to work, so the government rewards them, because they are deemed poor, because they dont own a house and dont have a car and dont have a job. Gee, I wonder why?

Were you in a Coma when the Gov’t was giving houses to the homeless and anyone who could sign a Contract. That’s the fastest way to ruin the value of all the homes in the country, when the nonpayers don’t pay their house notes, no matter what the situation. All home values, after evictions, and abandoned prop, and millions of houses dumped on the market, what else can happen. Every house in the country looses value by some 40% to 90%, ;simply because of supply and demand, it’s not hard to figure, it’s a planned action, and these are our elected officials, who given the power will destroy what’s left of our great country…….

Funny, I remember on the last threads you wrote in, how you lambasted the Christians wanting God’s name in the schools and government buildings, and how I told you about the left kicking God out of everything, and you replied that there were a bunch of churches within 20 miles of you that you could go and see God’s name in. Sounds to me like your confused here. You either want God in, or you want Him out. You openly supported the gay lifestyle in previous threads, but if your in contact with God, and if your a true believer, you would readily recognize the wrong in that. You pray for them, you treat them as a person, but you dont approve of their lifestyle, because its wrong in God’s eyes. But then you tell me I dont know God. I beg to differ. I read God’s word, and I know what it says. But He also said teach them in the right way, which means you dont turn a blind eye when someone is doing wrong, you confront them. If they dont listen, you and a brother go and tell them. If they dont listen then, more of you go and tell them. When they still dont listen at that point, you throw them out of the church. This is the word of the Bible. Has nothing to do with hate. Truth is truth and fact is fact. Those that choose, and I do mean choose, to live on handouts, are upping the taxes on all of us and bringing this country down, and that is a fact also. And there is also a righteous anger, such as when He had had enough when he caught the money changes in His Fathers house, the temple, and proceeded to tip over their tables and run them out. Then I support our local Rescue Ministries with 25.00 a month, along with other miscellaneous gifts to Make-A-Wish, Atheletes in Action, different Missionaries in our church, and Ive got to Hurricane Katrine relief in Gulfport Mississippi for the last three years for a week, volunteering rebuilding houses down there, doing drywall, laying hardwood and ceramic tile floors, putting up woodwork, roofing, whatever they wanted me to do, all for free. Actually, I pay to go down there and serve. That is why we are here. But I still feel I should do more. Im sorry if I get excited at you sometimes, but dude, I get pretty upset when I see some of the crap the liberals do. I used to be one, but I changed. I used to be the guy that said everythings cool. Drink, drug, party, have sex, whatever makes you happy. I cant be like that anymore, Ive changed. I dont believe in sex before marriage, because God has made that clear that it should be practiced in the sactity of marriage. So of course I dont believe in gay activity, since I believe in God. I dont mind paying my taxes to support the school systems, build roads and bridges and such, but I am so against my hard earned tax dollars going to illegal immigrants that broke the law getting here, to giving unemployement checks to 25 year old boys who sit on someones front porch everyday, and I do mean everyday, drinking beer from 40 oz bottles and smoking cigarettes, week, and crack. Make them take a piss test if your going to reward them for not working. I have to take one to work, maybe they should have to pass one not to work. Now theres an idea. I agree, and I do think we can achieve the Fair Tax if enough citizens wake up and let their legislators know that we are tired of jumping through the Income Tax hoops like a bunch of trained circus animals. Income tax, though, is just one of many problems that have been created by our out of control government. I saw a lady on Fox Newchannel sreaming at her legislator “If you think this healthcare system you propose is so wonderful, then why don’t you put yourselves (the legislators) on the same system?”. That is a large part of our current problems. The Governing class regularly exempts themselves from the rules that they pass onto the rest of us. These and other things they do, show complete contempt of the citizens and we need to respond by getting better educated about their political stunts and letting them know that we our going to vote their raggedy butts out of office if they don’t start showing respect to us.

7000 for what? Health insurance for a year or what? Shoot I thought I paid to much. My family insurance is 60.00 a week, which adds up to $3120.00 per year, but I dont have to pay taxes on this. Its free for me also, but I pay to carry my wife, who started a new job. Once she has been there, I drop it and dont pay anything. The funny thing I dont get about it, is that carrying my wife is the family package. If I had 5 kids, its still the family package, at the same cost. If I had 15 kids, its still the same. You would think there would different amounts for the amount you are carrying on it, but not so here.

I have to disagree. This stimulus money is a joke. I know too many people that are making real good money, that were in the market for a car, so now the government gives them 4500.00. How is this benefitting those in need? The sale would have been made anyhow, but now 4500.00 in tax dollars gets spent, because actually this was a slick watch my one hand while the other pulls the trick, where they got this money and diverted it to this baloney. Im pretty sure it is nationwide also, as it is here in Indiana, where these dealers have sold all these cars, trashed the “clunkers” as the law dictates, but the government has not, I repeat, has not paid them one cent, let alone the 4500.00 per car. They are starting to get real nervous here. Some lots are now selling cars, and will not release them to the public until Uncle Sam pays them, and customers are cancelling sales and getting their money back. If the government is stiffing them here, Im pretty sure its nationwide. Just another example of incompetance in government. I am a conservative liberatarian and as all constitutional watchdogs feel the progressive movement ruined marriage. Before the movement homosexual lived together with little problems. I feel that our government is too involved in the business of defining marriage when it is the churches duty. I am morally against gay marriage but feel that our government has no constitutional authority to mandate marriage. Our churches invented marriage and they should be the authority for marrying individuals. If a church founded by gay people wants to marry them then so be it. I am against it but I feel i have no right to mandate my christian values on to others who do not share them. God is the one to decide no me or my government.

Problem is when you aim to high you miss the target, you sure did and despite your large volume of words you say nothing that will solve the real problem, probably solve it in your own mind but the problem is obviously to big a problem for such a small mind therefore it can produced no solutions
Your right to a point. Difference being, Obama’s own party will throw him under the bus to save face, so that their political careers can keep going. You watch and see. They see it all falling apart allready, as misdecision after misdecision is being made. Obama is just the facepiece. But his own kind will sacrifice him to save their own hides, and they will attempt to run Hillary or someone else in 2012. Mark my words.

They voted for Obama, because he spent millions and millions of dollars, to appear on the brain suckers in their living rooms, saying change-change-change over and over and over, and instead of investigating and demanding he tell them some sort of plan or presenting some sort of an idea of what he would do, or even as to who he is, the public bought into the marketing of change-change-change, all in part, because for the last 8 years, the American media of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC had told the American public that we needed change. It was a hell of a marketing ploy, and he actually bought the election with advertising. Look, its like this. I drink beer, OK. Miller Lite is the worst tasting stuff Ive ever tried as far as beer goes. The way they make it is to make a half a vat of beer, then fill it up with water. Cheaply made. It tastes like that to, like I poured a half a glass of beer and filled it up the rest of the way with water. Nasty tasting stuff. But it sells in mass quantities, because it goes on TV and tells people its good, and its a status sports thing drinking Miller Lite. Oh the power of advertising. Worst tasting stuff is a big seller like that. Thats exactly how Obama got elected – advertising. And again, a rotten taste is left in our mouths.

It is conservatives that want to define marriage in law and limit it to whom they want , gays want it for everyone and want no law defining it. The constitution does not have any definition of marriage and no law or the constitution tells any church how they should deal with marriage and it is mostly conservatives that want it as law, you know the limited government crowd, only want the government involved when they want to take away some one else’s freedoms away.
They have not had the freedom to marry, so nothing is being taken away. You suggest adding that for them, and I respect your right to that opinion, thats what makes America great, we are all free to have our opinions. Hey some of mine are right, some are wrong, some of yours are right, some are wrong, but we are free to make them. Marriage is, by God’s own direction in the Bible, between a woman and a man, “for this reason a man shall leave his parents and take a wife, and they will become one flesh”. If they want gays to have marriage, allthough Im against it, I say let them, because a marriage is a holy vow before God, and it isnt any threat to mine. Its not real, and what I mean by that is, I could set a bunch of guys in place and call me president, but it doesnt mean that I am. But as for your saying it takes someones freedoms away, you cant take away what wasnt there. Thats all Im saying. Dont hate me for my opinion. It may be wrong in your eye, and thats fine, but being a free American, I also am entitled to my opinion, kapish?

First I do not hate you, second I do not disagree with your biblical interpretation about marriage, third, where I believe we differ, I believe the constitution separates church and state and marriage under our laws for anyone is not a church doctrine or belief and the constitution will not allow the law to discriminate one person over another. The courts have not ruled on this issue so for you to say that this is freedom that can’t be taken away if it was never had. When an issue in a dispute has not been ruled on one cannot accurately conclude the freedom was not there it means it has just not been enforced. The same has been true about many such issues on church-state separation that for years before the ruling we allowed even though it was unconstitutional prayer in public school and many other similar issues. The same was true about abortion, in both cases the constitution was not changed but when the issue came before the court and they had to then determine if we had been correctly enforcing the constitution prior to that time they ruled and corrected us from that point in time forward. The same is true of marriage and many of us believe the constitution does not mandate that marriage is just between a man and a woman and has nothing what so ever to do with church doctrine but with equal freedoms for all. Conservatives have made it quite clear that no matter what the constitution says they want the judges from the bench to change the constitution to meet with their religious beliefs. They are the ones who actually want activist judges and when the judges interpret the constitution correctly but they do not get the outcome that you want you call them activist judges and seem to be incapable of understanding these issues correctly. Further I have never said anywhere on here what my personal preference for marriage is, however, I believe that even when I do not agree with the constitution I feel it has to followed even when It is against what I believe or want. Abortion is a clear example of this, I personally do not believe in it, but my reading of the constitution is that Roe v Wade was an correct interpretations even though for me I disagree with this outcome I believe I have to respect the law. There is a means to change the constitution but in this case I do not believe it would have the votes for this to succeed.
I do not think our religious convictions differ that much, where we differ is that I think the constitution has to be followed even when it differs and especially if it differs with our religious doctrines. I believe strongly in the separation of church of state because with out it we would have a lot more disharmony in out multicultural society.
Yeah, what happened to their cry of separation of Church and State? The government should not be involved in this, or they are in direct defiance of separation of Church and State. I guess your only allowed to use that if it fits ones left wing liberal agenda of bringing more evil into the world.
oops answered the wrong article. With the monetary system Obama has no constitutional authority to take our sovereignty away and bring us into the union with Europe. I think if he does that he will be impeached.

If any of you are people of faith, then you know what is happening here. Sadly, our country and all of its wonderful institutions WILL collapse. Someone earlier mentioned anti-christ…yup. A one world ruler…currency…military…relegion. Obama is leveling the playing field. Making us equals to the rest of the world. So sad…but inevitable. Prophecy being fufilled before our very eyes! Scary, amazing, surreal? Best thing we can do is prepare ourselves for the coming chaos, and yes, it is coming! Banks collapse, food shortages, riots in the streets (once people find out they have lost all in a financial collapse), robbing, killing, etc. Life as we know it is ending without a doubt, but, i know where my security lies, and it is not in the hands of the obamanation.

Chris you are so right! I had a teacher who more than 30 years ago told our class that if you want to know what is going on in the world keep your eye on Israel. Bible prophecy concerns Israel and the unbelieving nations. There are a lot of us who “know where our security lies” and trust the One who wrote history in advance.
DixieConnie, we really don’t need any provisions other than Christ, but He does expect us to be prudent and to share what we have with other believers when times are hard. Believe it or not, God does provide all that we need including strength, wisdom and confidence in the one and only God.

This country has to wake up soon, if this administration keeps going on the way it has been, we may soon reach the point of no return and we will no longer be a republic as the founding fathers had envisioned. Our constitution will be trashed and made to seem irrelevant. Revolutions rarely solve anything. Ours was an unusual one. The much more common case is to go from the hands of one dictator into the hands of another dictator.
I do, however, think that the state legislators (spurred by the voters) need to do something to stop the Federal government’s abuse of power. Hopefully, that would not result in a Civil War. When the states joined the union, they did so with the rules of the game being the Constitution. Would anyone play a game with someone who ignores the rules? So, the states have a very good reason to insist that the Constitution be obeyed by the Federal Government.

How right you all are. History and mankind are coming from the bullying system. This is a system where the one with the most military might has the power to do as he pleases. We are accustomed to it, we feel comfortable in it, we are on top of the world and should defend it any way we can. It is easy. All the President has to do is just follow his predecessor’s footsteps. However, we should acknowledge that we are no longer the same world as in the past. Today as never before, we are world with 7 billion people, that the poles are melting, that more than 5.7 billion people or 80% of the population in the planet are dreadfully poor. That from the 307 million Americans 15% are very poor, and only 3 million Americans are very rich. However, the 230 million Americans which are in debt eagerly support big interests groups because we have a good perception of them. Like, Exxon for instance, is the largest company in the world with more than 487 billion in revenue. They are so good, that in 2008 when all of us were having hard economic times, they made the largest profits ever, with 42 billion. The financial system is good as can be attested by our own financial well being. We do have 3 million very rich people and another 29 million not so bad off. Any system change that could jeopardize this well being needs to be rejected. Probably Brian Ludin is right, because he has a lot to loose. Obama should uphold the dollar reserve in the financial system because at least 32 million American are OK.
I think most of these people responding would agree with you. Most people responding think Obama is all about power. Bush was all about greed and power.

Neither Obama nor Bush nor Clinton has made this Federal Government bigger by themselves. They have all contributed, although Obama’s efforts to grow the government dwarfs the efforts by all previous predecessors. Imagine, Trevinoj, if those 5.7 billion you speak of, get to split up our assets evenly. Even our poorest people would suffer from that move. The “politics of envy” has never advanced a country’s economy for long. What makes an economy strong is productivity, pure and simple. And whatever promotes productivity produces a stronger economy. If we take from the rich and give to the poor, then the rich (who are the actual providers of jobs) will of course slack off, and the poor sure aren’t going to work any harder. This will cause productivity to go down meaning fewer goods in the economy and lower standard of livings for everyone. If redistribution of wealth was the answer, then all any country would need to do is to redistribute the wealth and all would be good. Sorry, it doesn’t work.
Now, for sure, their are some big businesses that are taking advantage of people, but they can’t force us to buy their goods unless Big Government gets involved. Government is force, not reason. Why do so many of you liberals think that Big Government is devoid of crooked, evil people and that Big Business is full of them? You are dreaming. Only Government can deprive us of our freedom legally. And most of the problems that we now face are the result of Government interference in the free market. Creating even bigger government is like throwing more gasoline on the fire to put it out. Big Government is the Problem, Not the Solution.
Your system of greed is not the solution either. How many people in government illegally have taken billions of dollars while they were serving the government. This will be a travestry for the American people and others around the world if the idea of a one world government and currency is adopted. President Obama is not the only one who holds this view. Unfortunately many in government hold this view as well. It is simply the matter of those in power wanting more power.
I do not believe in conspiracy theories. They only attempt to mis-lead people. What is happening with our dollar is real and if comitted citizens do not wake up we will see it happen. If not in the Obama administration then in the next one. Woe betide those who just sit and wring their hands and do nothing. We must be active and vote all those in office that undmine our currency out of office and bring in trustworthy patriotic people.

One world government can work if it is run similar to USA. At first there would be problems, but it would be better than atomic bombs exploding all over the world like it is leading up to.
Right on Earlw! But don’t be too hard on people for not knowing that. I hear that democracy crap spewed by the major media constantly, so it is no wonder that most people aren’t aware that our country was founded as a republic not a democracy.
Earl knows this but for the people who do not, imagine the whipsawing that we would get every election cycle if a raw majority was all that was required. It is easy for the mass media to get a raw majority of the people whipped into a frenzy. Then the new people in power would be able to completely change the direction of the country every 4 years or so. Prosperity would definitely decline because Business investment is directly affected by the ability of the Businesses to plan for the future. If they have an uncertain future, they are going to be hesitant to invest in new employees or equipment.
That is why a super-majority is required to change the Constitution. Our forefathers were very wise in the creation of that document. Unfortunately, the public-school educated people are not taught much about the main law of the land, so those people aren’t aware that it is being ignored regularly by our government officials (even though they swear to uphold the Constitution). I’m sure many liberals would say “That’s good that they ignore it!”, but they are more than happy to advocate more rules that the rest of us are supposed to obey.
My own personal experience is that as a teenager, I just respected the law blindly. But as time went on and more and more laws were passed, I found it impossible to obey all of them, so I lost my respect for those laws which have no moral purpose. I have noticed that same loss of respect in most of my friends over the years. They just ignore those laws that they think they won’t be caught and punished for. Does that created a good society? I don’t think so. I would a lot rather have just a few laws that were rigidly obeyed by the population or rigidly enforced by the government.

Few people even realize what a republic is and that is unfortunate. If you have not had a chance to read Thomas Paine’s book “COMMON SENSE AND THE RIGHTS OF MAN” you would certainley like what you read. I
offered this book, at my own expense, to all in my address book and had
only four takers. Of those only one read it (my brother) and the others had
excuses as to why they did not. Very interesting.

Tell Don that if we exploded an Atomic bomb a long time ago on one of these desert countries, and turned it into a sheet of glass, we wouldnt have these problems with these sand fleas that we have these days. It never hurts to expect the unexpected. I had no fears about “Y2K”…I work in I.T. and I knew the extremes businesses were going to ensure that no business would be lost. This is different on a massive scale. This is the system trying to be dismantled and altered while the fan blades are spinning! This is truly madness under the guise of benevolence to those too ignorant to understand personal responsibility. While some may read your words Brian as extreme-right, the government will bring about the failure of the system, then attempt to be the great provider. If most people did the math, they’d realize that events like “katrina”, and on a small scale compared to the vast spaces of the United States, unfolded in all of 72 hours. We live on the razors edge of the supply chain, but many are too blind or to scared to realize how fast the shelves go bare at the whims of the weatherman whispering, “Snow”.

This is why the Japanese didnt invade the mainland. When asked why, their military leaders said it would have be suicide, because our people are armed. Take away the arms, and bad bad stuff will happen to us, I guarantee it. I dont have a gun, never needed one , and really never wanted one, but I fully support someones right to have, hold, and to bear arms, and Im glad they do.
I dont think it matters that people are in protest over the health care. I believe that it will get passed anyway. Our liberty is being taken from us, protest will do no good. Watch the health care get passed anyway, then you will see that im right. They dont care what you say or think. They are going to keep taking and taking.
It DOES matter that we speak up regarding healthcare reform. We must attend town meetings with our representatives and let them know we oppose this bill. We must email them. We must phone them. We must write them. I’d rather know that I did
everything in my power to avoid having it passed, then remain silent and suck it up when it is. The healthcare proposal is evil. It will guarantee that our tax dollars will pay for abortions, which I am personally opposed to! I am personally opposed to seniors being required to attend “end of life” counseling sessions every 5 years in order to continue their coverage. I am personally opposed to illegal aliens receiving
healthcare. They should be deported to their own country and re-apply for U.S. entry
legally. Then they can be eligible for healthcare. Winston Churchill said that all that is required for evil to triump, is for good people to do nothing.

Does it soothe you guilt when you join the socialists in taking something from others, and then imagine that you and your controlling cohorts are being noble?
Give me a break, you just want something for nothing, plain and simple.
If you really care about the health of others, there are many things that you can advocate that won’t take the money or freedom of others. One is to abolish the legitimacy of the AMA, which is nothing more than a Union for Doctors. Another is to stop the FDA from controlling our volutary health choices. And yet another is allow interstate insurance. And allow companies tax breaks for giving their employees cash instead of buying them health insurance, which would allow the employee to buy the insurance plan that suits them, thus fostering more competition amongst insurance companies. In other words unravel the anti-competitive, anti-freedom rules that have been passed or enabled by Big Government. If our health-care system is indeed a shambles, it is because of Big Government, not in spite of Big Government.
Some of us, for instance me, are not afraid to take whatever nature dishes out to us. So, why should we be forced to pay for the cowardly whiners who won’t? We have gone from a nation of rugged pioneers to a nation of whining cowards in just 230 years.

I just told of a survey I heard from TV, today. I did not lie about what I heard. We need to keep the AMA. When a doctor is liable for an operation that went bad, and this patient needs care for the rest of his life, you can’t limit his damages to 25,000 when he will need a million for health care for the rest of his life. How fair is 25,000 for the doctor’s screw up. This is one example of why I call republicans hateful people. The other examples you mentioned does not cure health care as we know it today. When the hospitals are charging 100 for something that you and I can buy for less than a dollar. You and I are paying for other peoples’ ills. How fair is this? I’m paying well over 6000 for my wife’s insurance. It is going up 10% every year. How long can people afford this. The system is broken and not because of lawyers. The insurance companies made 440 billion dollars off of us last year. What is wrong with a government not for proffit agency? Yes, they will screw up, but they will try to fix the problem, not like today where people are denied for some stupid reason like having a bad reactoin to some medication. You are correct about some whining people. This does raise the rates, and these people are always the first in line. I know I always wait too long when I need care. Thanks for you reply. I don’t know which survey you’re looking at, but the ones I’ve seen on your Fox Channel , which from an outsiders prospective seems to give a straight and more realistic view of whats going on there in the States than other Govt influenced Channels, but the surveys taken and shown there show totally the opposite views to what you say. Our Health system here in Australia is similar to yours with a Govt Medicare which caters to all , including people out of work and the lower wage earners and we the tax payer pay for it with a small levy,but you have to wait for elective surgery.
We have private Heath care which most Families that can afford it do have it for their families at their choice so they can have instant Surgery (elective) when needed. Isn’t America’s current system similar and if so why would you want to change it as it works fine for everyone, if you want to just be with State Medicare which never turns away anyone, or Private Health care cover of your own choice. It seems Pres Obama there and his Goose bag Pelosi team want to change all these things in your Country to suit themselves and control you all.
Personally, I can’t stand control freaks, and no matter who they think they are and despite having been voted in by people, they are not GOD himself.Our copy cat Prime Mininster here has done the same thing with hand outs to stimulate the Economy , but added mass debt now that will take decades to pay back by our kids and theirs too. I ‘m from the School , that if you can’t afford it you should’nt buy it, so would ‘ve rather seen things take care of themselves so be it a collapse , then allow to recover normally without all this crazy added debt.

I have been giving most of these people a hard time, because this blog site is loaded with hateful Republicans. You are correct about the Australia health plan . They are working on it and should be corrected in the near future. England was the same way from 2003 to 2006 but has been corrected. The Americans that I talked to that have been over England was very inpressed with their health care. When they needed help, medical people would come to the hotel and helped them out. They only had to pay 25 dollars, because they were from US. Everyone elses’ health care is free except fot their national taxes. No matter who was going to be president, he/she would have bailed out the banks. 5 of the 9 large banks have paid back their stimulus money. The money that Bush sign on did not have to be paid back. Some of the stimulus money will not have to be paid back. I’m one of the few that agree with Obama, McCain, and most economics that something had to be done to help out these banks. Yes, the bad thing about it was they were not accounted for it. Once again greed is killing us, therefore, I trust our government more than these companies. I can understand why the American people are in a uproar over all this, but McCain would have been worst. He said he would get rid of the lobbyist, now he is ahead of them. He loves power too like all politicians.
The AMA (American Medical Association) is one reason medical costs are so high (by limiting the amount of medical students accepted to med school, and other noncompetitive practices). Licensing is another major cause of high medical prices. In most cases licensing is just a way to protect the entrenched professionals from competition. In a truly free enterprise system, all that should be required is for a doctor to post his medical credentials. If someone wants to go to a Witch Doctor, that is their business, not the government’s. A general practitioner shouldn’t need 8 years of higher education, they need only enough knowledge to refer the patient to the appropriate specialist. A free market would allow this, and other efficiencies. Big Government is the problem, not the solution.
I’m not Republican, but I am sure getting sick of you liberals accusing anyone who disagrees with you as being “hateful”. It won’t work on me, as I know it is just the way you liberals try to manipulate public opinion in your favor. Name calling and ridicule are your favorite weapons when you can’t engage in an intelligent debate of ideas.
If you think an agency free from competition is going to be cheaper, think again. And if you think the Republicans are hateful for not wanting to give you the freedom to ride on their backs, then what are you for wanting to ride on their backs against their will? Steal their money with your vote, but don’t try to take the moral high ground because you are not.
If you talk hate, you will be called on it.
Competition is great. We need more of it. Example: the oil companies. There are only several of them that produces 99% of the oil. They will fight like crazy against free energy like the sun and wind. There will be a cost of infrastructure, but in the long run it will be cheaper. But I don’t think you would be in favor of this competition. Wind and sun can’t supply all of our needs, but we need all sources than be a parasite to one industry.
I agree that AMA should be regulated. The younger people that I know that wanted to be accepted to medical school had to have very good grades. The students that had only A’s and B’s were not accepted. There is a way for these students to be accepted, but it took more time and effort to be accepted.
Surveys I have a hard time trusting in. You see, I myself have talked with at least 200 people on this, and Ive had 2 people that have wanted this national health care, thats it. So surveys can go anyway the survey taker wants them to go. I mean I could do a survey of 1000 people, and have 95 percent of them say smoking crack cocaine is good for you, if I poll the right people to support the poll to come out the way I might want it. So I dont hold much faith in polls or surveys, because more than not they are corrupted by the people taking them, who are looking for a certain type of person to give the answer they are looking for. Its not right, but thats what they do.
What the citizens of America need to do is stop the defeatist attitude, and let Obama, and his corrupt Democratic party know that they will not destroy America, because we the people won’t let them! Obama is not,and will not become the ruler of the world, unless he goes to another Country. Then maybe he might become the ruler over there, but never will he, or anyone rule this Country without the people backing him, or her! Our armed forces, and our police will never go against America, and without them he will control nothing! He needs to be impeached, and so does many in his administration! This guy promised change, but this isn’t the change that we were looking for! He must be stopped! don’t forget WE THE PEOPLE!
I agree. He really thinks he has been elected to become our dictator. Like his statement “I will let you keep your health care or doctor” Who the hell does he think he is. His audacity to restructure american into fascism buying up private companies (don’t forget Bush started this fascism) and then stating 2 years ago he will plan to slowly end our private healthcare by implementing a government plan that competes with private insurance and will finall
