The Great Swine Flu Boondoggle

The so-called great Swine flu pandemic is nothing more than a One World Government power grab, an effort at population control and a boondoggle designed to enrich big Pharma and its supporters.
While the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology are predicting millions of infections and tens of thousands of deaths to come, actual figures early in the season are proving to be quite different.
Amidst all the ballyhoo, big Pharma has ramped up production of vaccines and governments are threatening to mandate—and in the case of the New York and New Jersey actually mandating—forced immunizations.
The virus, first called Swine flu and later name-changed to H1N1, first appeared in Mexico in April. Since then the WHO has declared the disease a pandemic. But as of Sept. 25, according to the WHO, there have been only 318,925 confirmed cases worldwide and only 3,917 deaths; a mortality rate of just over 1 percent. That’s a truly miniscule number. Don’t forget the seasonal flu kills an average of 3,000 people per month in the U.S. alone.
As late as August, the President’s Council of Advisors on Science predicted the H1N1 virus would infect 2 million U.S. citizens this fall and winter and result in 30,000 to 90,000 U.S. deaths.
While the flu so far is proving troublesome for those who have it and causing a higher than normal percentage of absenteeism in schools across the U.S., its effects are turning out much milder than government propagandists forecast.
This is not the first time for predictions by government scare-mongers of a worldwide Swine flu pandemic. In 1976, after one soldier at Fort Dix, N.J., collapsed during a 50 mile hike and later died, the U.S. government ramped up a Swine flu vaccine and through a massive public relations campaign, encouraged everyone in the country to be vaccinated.
This despite the fact that all known cases of Swine flu at the time were confined to 155 soldiers at Fort Dix, and none of them died.
In March of 1976, two months after the soldier’s death and with seasonal flu cases in their normal decline, the CDC asked Congress for the money to develop enough vaccine to immunize 80 percent of the U.S. population.
Four months later Congress was pushing drug companies to work faster, and drug companies asked for immunity from lawsuits if something went wrong with the vaccine. On Aug. 2, 1976, two members of the American Legion died from a respiratory disease acquired at the Legion’s convention in Philadelphia and the next day, convinced that an epidemic was beginning, Congress granted the immunity drug companies sought.
Two months later, with the government predicting at least a million deaths to come from the Swine flu, the immunization process began. By Oct. 11, 1976, approximately 40 million people had been vaccinated. Then three seniors died soon after receiving their shots.
In the ensuing days more seniors died and many otherwise healthy people began suffering debilitating neuromuscular problems and paralysis which later was diagnosed as Guillan-Barré syndrome. The Swine flu immunization was the common factor in the cases.
Drug companies that manufactured the vaccines made millions yet suffered no liability for the consequences of their untested vaccine.
It turned out in 1976 that the cure was more deadly than the disease. It looks like the same is probably going to be true this time.
The drug company GlaxoSmithKline was recently contracted by Canada to manufacture 50.4 million doses of Swine flu or H1N1 vaccine. Drug companies Baxter Pharmaceuticals and Novartis Pharmaceuticals have been commissioned to manufacture the vaccine for the U.S.
Both GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis are using the substance squalene in their H1N1 vaccines. According to The American Journal of Pathology, squalene is a cholesterol precursor which stimulates the immune system nonspecifically. One intradermal injection—or shot—of this adjuvant lipid can induce joint-specific inflammation in arthritis-prone rats.
Novartis’ squalene adjuvant was used in the experimental anthrax vaccines for soldiers serving in the Gulf War and has been linked to Gulf War Syndrome, the devastating auto-immune disease suffered by Gulf War veterans who took the anthrax shots.
Symptoms of Gulf War Syndrome include ulcers, arthritis, chronic diarrhea, fatigue and headaches, dizziness, fibromyalgia, memory loss, mood changes, multiple sclerosis, neuropsychiatric problems, rashes, skin lesions, photosensitive rashes and systemic lupus, according to osteopathic physician Joseph Mercola, M.D.
On Dr. Mercola’s website, anthrax vaccine expert Meryl Nass, M.D., wrote:
A novel feature of the two H1N1 vaccines being developed by companies Novartis and GlaxoSmithKline is the addition of squalene-containing adjuvants to boost immunogenicity and dramatically reduce the amount of viral antigen needed. This translates to much faster production of desired vaccine quantities.
Dr. Nass also writes that the squalene adjuvants have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in any U.S. vaccine.
And then there’s Baxter.
In 2008, Baxter produced a contaminated blood thinner called heparin that had to be recalled by the FDA. It resulted in at least 81 deaths and hundreds of injuries. The active ingredient for heparin was produced in a Chinese factory that had never been inspected by the FDA.
Earlier this year it was reported that Baxter shipped what could be a weaponized version of the H591 Avian flu virus to at least 18 countries in a vaccine. The vaccine contained a live virus that had been mixed with seasonal flu viruses. The combination would have created a super-strain of virus that would have spread much more readily than normal Avian flu.
Curiously, Baxter applied for a patent for the H1N1 flu vaccine in August 2008, eight months before the H1N1 virus appeared in Mexico. This for a type of virus that had not manifested itself for more than 30 years.
In July the drug companies were given immunity from liability for the vaccines and the immunizations are about to begin with very little testing. Again, drug companies stand to make millions of dollars without fear of consequences if things go horribly wrong.
Appearing suddenly in April, the origins of the virus have either not been discovered or are known but not being revealed to the general public. Writing for the Institute of Science in Society, Professor Adrian Gibbs and Dr. Jean Downie have studied the gene sequences of the H1N1 virus and determined the virus is a combination unlike any seen in the past.
Furthermore, none of the genes that make up the virus have been seen for a long time. It appears to be a combination of Swine flu not seen in North America in more than a decade and Avian flu found in Europe but never in North America.
Gibbs and Downie posit the virus emanated either from a vaccine made specifically for pigs, accidentally from an infected human working for a drug company or intentionally released into the Mexican population.
Remembering the scare that didn’t materialize in 1976 and recognizing the hyperbole coming out of government organizations, many Americans are casting a wary eye toward the prospects of vaccination. Many of those are saying no immunization, no way.
Recognizing that their scaremongering tactics aren’t working, governments are now starting to ramp up their intimidation tactics. New York just decreed that all health workers are required to be immunized and New Jersey has mandated the same for all children in day care and preschool.
Presidential advisor and former Congressman Rham Emanuel once stated, “You should never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” Those currently in charge are doing their dead-level best not to waste this manufactured one.
If government gets away with forcing its citizens to receive a drug against their will, one more chunk will have been removed from the wall separating liberty from tyranny.

Were you repling to me? Why so angry? Because I just dismissed your point about an open border? I agree that we tighter control on our borders, but not for the same reasons as you. The swine Flu started in Mexico, I think the first case reported here was from a farmer in Kansas, he had been in Mexico on business. Others were school kids in New York that had been in Mexico. So it seems to reason that if you want to close our borders to keep sick people from coming in then you have to either tell people they can’t leave, or don’t let them back in until they have proven they are not sick.

WASHINGTON, Oct 4 (Reuters) – President George W. Bush suggested using the military to contain any epidemic of avian influenza on Tuesday, saying Congress needs to consider the possibility.
He said the military, perhaps the National Guard, might be needed to enforce quarantines if the feared H5N1 bird flu virus changes enough to cause widespread human infection.
“If we had an outbreak somewhere in the United States, do we not then quarantine that part of the country? And how do you, then, enforce a quarantine?” Bush asked at a news conference.
“It’s one thing to shut down airplanes. It’s another thing to prevent people from coming in to get exposed to the avian flu. And who best to be able to effect a quarantine?” Bush added.
“One option is the use of a military that’s able to plan and move. So that’s why I put it on the table. I think it’s an important debate for Congress to have.”
Bird flu has killed more than 60 people in four Asian nations since late 2003 and has been found in birds in Russia and Europe.
Experts fear that the H5N1 bird flu virus, which appears to be highly fatal when it infects people, will develop the ability to pass easily from person to person and would cause a pandemic that would kill millions.
He noted that some governors may object to the federal government commandeering the National Guard, which is under state command in most circumstances.
“But Congress needs to take a look at circumstances that may need to vest the capacity of the president to move beyond that debate. And one such catastrophe or one such challenge could be an avian flu outbreak,” Bush said.

It is not Mexicans VISITING the US that are the problem. It is the ones who sneak in without the barest of medical exams, then work in our food production for $3.00 per hour, less expenses (keeping down the price of lettuce) that create a problem. Our government is not protecting us.

I don’t care where or why because it is here so now we have to take care of our loved ones no matter what.My grandson just got out of the hospital from having it,so like I said I don’t care where or why I just care that we find a real way to kill this.
I saw hundreds of cars lined up at my local Kaiser. They were giving the Flu vaccination to people as they drove up in their cars! I latter read in the paper that over 9000 had recieved the vaccination! My doctor also is pushing me to vaccinate my 11 year old girl against HPV! I walked away from our appointment not getting the vaccination ordered. The fact that these vaccinations are largely untested, and that if something should go wrong we have no recourse should scare everybody! Many of us are so used to doing what our doctors tell us that a lot of people won’t even question it! When big money is the motivating factor you can bet that the truth will be suppressed! God help us!

If we teach our daughters to remain celibate until marriage, there is no need for the HPV vaccine. I expect them not to indulge in illegal drug use…I think they are fully capable of not having sex until they are married also. Pete, that was an awful reply. There are a lot of us parents out here who told our children to wait until marriage as it would save them a lot of grief. The counterculture entertainment media and peer pressure as well as older men pursuing young girls works against parental concerns. I take it you aren’t a parent. And don’t tell me it’s nature. That says we have no such thing as self-control. The whole things is, girls have a lot more to lose than guys do who are sexually active in their teens. But I do not approve of that vaccine for girls. They’re even working on one for boys. Our children need better messages from “the village.”

For all you young folks that still do not believe the present administration are Socialist, then use your computers and do a little research, then you’ll discover the cold hard truth.
One of the first missions to bring about Socialism in a country is to crash the economy, Government take-over of large business, then declare marshall law, take away all the firearms, round up and dispose of all the trouble makers, then enslave the remaining population, place then in work camps, ration their food and medical needs.
That also means the young folks will lose their iPod’s, game stations, flat screen televisions, cell telephones and all the other pretty electronic toys they have become accustom to. Oh come on! We were all teenagers at one time. We all know how it is to be young and courious about sex. Everyone has the urges and everyone handles them different. Sarah Palin got up there in front of the world and preached her family values and religion but she couldn’t teach it to her daughter.
My friend’s Grandfather told me a story of when he was young in the 1920′s about a Mennonite girl he was dating. They went out on a date and she took off her bonnet and through it in the back seat of the car, (which was a 1918 chevy touring car), and told him, the Mennonite is back there and I’m up here! So in other words if you need a translation, she wasn’t going to be a good girl that night. Now that was way back in the 1920′s so it goes to show people are people. You might think your little Johnny and Sarah are being boys and girls, but you have no idea. No matter what you teach them they are still going to do what they want. Isn’t it better to prepare them for real life rather than keep them sheltered? You have to teach them morals, but expect and prepare youself for when they decide to do their own thing.

Both true, as the sexual hormones are a powerful drug. Of course not all youngsters succumb to those hormones.
Finally (and this is where you leave me cold, you Liberal zealot), you bash Sarah Palin for something her child did. As you said parents cannot control every one of their child’s decisions. So, as with most Liberals, your principles can be compromised at any moment if you so desire.

I would not “Bash” Sarah Palin if she didn’t take that goodie two shoes postion. She preaches family values and born again Christian stuff, but when it comes down to her family is just like most. She is no better than the people she is preaching to. I would have more respect for her daughter if she was trying to teach values and telling kids to think before they act because she is living through it all now and it’s no fun to be a teen mother. But they played the family role all through the campaign and put on a show. It was all a joke. I think her family is no better than mine even though she seems to think they are.

Thank you Pete for admitting that fact. Sarah’s family is no better than yours (or mine) and neither is Obama’s or Bush’s or any other politician’s. That is why I don’t want Big Government micromanaging my life. Even if they were better or smarter, nobody knows what the wants and needs are for any other individual. I feel this whole scare with the Swine Flu is one way to increase pharma sales & I feel if anyone takes the vacine which has not been tested that they could die from that alone or get very ill or obtain something harmful to your health for the rest of your life. I feel also that the government may have also dusted over the whole world while everyone is sleeping with the virus causing people to get sick. No one needs to get any flu shots at all. Only 10 or less of every million molecules of air are ozone. The majority of these ozone molecules resides in a layer between 10 and 40 kilometers (6 and 25 miles) above the Earth’s surface in the stratosphere.
Each spring in the stratosphere over Antarctica (Spring in the southern hemisphere is from September through November.), atmospheric ozone is rapidly destroyed by chemical processes.
As winter arrives, a vortex of winds develops around the pole and isolates the polar stratosphere. When temperatures drop below -78°C (-109°F), thin clouds form of ice, nitric acid, and sulphuric acid mixtures. Chemical reactions on the surfaces of ice crystals in the clouds release active forms of CFCs. Ozone depletion begins, and the ozone “hole” appears.
Over the course of two to three months, approximately 50% of the total column amount of ozone in the atmosphere disappears. At some levels, the losses approach 90%. This has come to be called the Antarctic ozone hole.
In spring, temperatures begin to rise, the ice evaporates, and the ozone layer starts to recover.
The Antarctic ozone hole was discovered in 1985 by British scientists Joesph Farman, Brian Gardiner, and Jonathan Shanklin of the British Antarctic Survey.
The ozone “hole” is really a reduction in concentrations of ozone high above the earth in the stratosphere. After a series of rigorous meetings and negotiations, the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer was finally agreed upon on 16 september 1987 at the Headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization in Montreal.

Something has to be done to keep the envirment from getting worse. The united states must take the lead and we must get other countries to follow. Sarah’s daughter was talked in having sex with a young man she thought was going to marry her. But like a lot of men, when she got pregnant, he ran out on her. At least neither Sarah or her daughter had an abortion. They gave life to a baby they knew was Down’s and one without a father in the picture.
We also have a daughter who got pregnant before marriage. She chose life for her baby boy. She and the father did get married. Our grandson is a straight A student, a member of the National Honor Society, an Eagle Scout and a terrific soccer player. We are so proud of him. Of our 17 grandchildren, he is so special. Just think what would have been lost to the world if my daughter had chosen to abort. But she also is a pro-lifer and she and her husband have 3 children now. They are all smart as a whip.

Don’t try to talk science, it’s way over your head. This is a typical response from someone like you when you’re presented with facts. There is a hole in the ozone layer. It’s a fact. It changes with seasons and has been getting bigger. Certain chemicals we use deplete the ozone layer at a more rapid pace.
Low level ozone is bad for you health. Especially if you have lung and heart problems. I don’t understand why myself as I am not a scientist. But I do know that it caused by pollution, mostly from our cars. God created the earth with just the right amount of gases for plants and animals to servive. Man came along and discovered things that would make his life better not realizing the harmful effects it has on his envirment. I personally like the inventions that man came up with. But I think people are smart enough now to figure out a way to use those same tools with less pollution.
At one time the United States was the leader in the world in technology and manufacturing and just about everything. We should get that role as leader back. We should set the example for the rest of the world. We should have the best of everything. The best healthcare, the best cars, the best military, and the best air quality. We should be leading the way for the rest of the world to follow. But we aren’t, mainly because of petty bickering over stupid stuff like being forced to get vaccinated. I was there in 1976 – and those who cry “see there was no pandemic!!” need to recognize that the immunization program was a critical part of the reason. For those who point to the fact that the death rate is not that which we normally see during a regular flu season I would point out; THIS IS NOT YET FLU SEASON. Here in Florida we have seen hundreds sick and upwards of 30 YOUNG HEALTHY PEOPLE die since June – and FLU SEASON HASN’T ARRIVED YET. Unless we assume that the virus will mutate into one which does NOT kill young people – the fact is that for now IT DOES. Lots of unsubstantiated claims are made in this article. The doctors I trust tell me to take Vitamin D3 during the winter months to protect my immune system. Most of us don’t have the sun providing the natural D in the winter months. I have never taken a flu shot, and have not missed a day of work in twenty-five years.
From War to drugs, the way big business has partnered with government, protecting each other’s interests, I have no faith in government providing a safe vaccination for the public. In a “free” country I weigh the good and bad, and decide what is best for my family and me. I don’t buy into what’s best for “society”—that’s the collectivist mentality that you find in socialist countries, where people see government as their savior and master, and can be herded like cattle toward whatever program government decides is best for everyone—who’s really making the decisions, and for who’s benefit?

But have you ever noticed that they have cures for all kinds of diseases but if you want to know what they are, you have to buy their newsletters? If they were really all that concerned about us, why don’t they just come out and tell us? I take their advice with a grain of salt. We know by instinct what’s good for us to eat and what isn’t. I agree. This is a scare, nothing more, about the vaccines. How many people have actually been harmed by them. It’s usually an allergic reaction to eggs, not the actual virus which is killed. It cannot cause the flu. If someone gets the flu after receiving the vaccine, it’s because they already had it when they got the shot. The reason the elderly are not first to get it is because we’ve had so many flu shots already, we have built up immunity where the young have not as yet. Here in Indiana, all those who have died have been young, between the ages of 5 and 22. At least, those are the only ones we’ve heard about. And there haven’t been that many.
I’ve read a few places that the H1N1 shot contains live attenuated virus and CAN infect others as the virus from the shot is shed for some time after the shot.

I have not had any vaccinations since the government-forced vaccinations of my youth (up to age 10). That was 50 years ago when the number of school-required vaccinations was much lower than now. I have not gotten any of the dastardly diseases that they vaccinate the kids for these days. Does that prove vaccinations don’t work. Of course not, no more so than people not getting a disease proved that their vaccinations did work.

It is easier to show ill effects from a vaccination than to show the benefits of a vaccination. For instance, if two unrelated and healthy people in a small sample size get a rare illness shortly after being vaccinated, it is pretty probable that it was caused by the vaccination. But if those same two don’t get the target illness, does that support the efficacy of the vaccination? Of course not, unless a vast majority of the others in the sample size who didn’t receive the vaccination caught the illness.
Probable? Depends on who is doing the analysis, repubs or dems. LOL You are funny.

Why do we insist that we drop bombs on other nations and kill people and put our people in harms way? Why is it no one cares about the veterns when they come home. We should stop at nothing to take care of our vets. They deserve everything we could give them. But so many times funding for our vets is cut. We should never cut their funding to support and unjust war.

That’s a great question, why is FoxNews the only one reporting on many stories? See my earlier post to witness a video of MSNBC style of reporting. They did slip up at one point in the video. They were trying to give the impression that only a small group of people attended the Tea Party. But one small group was standing in the rain with umbrellas. How many of us would get off our lazy butts (not me, not yet) to go stand in the rain and protest?

Not changing the subject a lot of Greek thinkers believe the world was round.Pythagoras,Eratosthenes and a few more.
I will choose not to be vaccinated for this, at current I do not fall into the CDC’s recommended guidelines for priority. And even if I did I would think long and hard about getting it. I have felt all along that it had not had time to be tested yet. And I wouldn’t trust it not being able to protect you from coming down sick with the H1N1 anyhow. I went this past Saturday and received my annual flu shot for the flu season. I have in the past contracted mild flu symptoms even though vaccinated, so I truly do not believe this is fail safe yet.
That’s not surprising Ann as the last several years of vacciene were for the wrong flu strain! So it didn’t even offer the paltry 8% immunity that it would normally have.
Unfortunately, the children are going to be one of the primary targets thanks to our government-controlled public school system. Most parents won’t stand up to the coercive pressures of the school systems.
Oh well, the parents have the power. Or do you now want to interfere with this issue and take the right away from the parents?

Does anyone else think it odd that more people die from the “normal” flu than H1N1, yet to hear the hysteria out there about H1N1 you’d think we’re all going to die tomorrow. It has made me very wary – that and the fact that the vaccinations have not been rigorously tested, yet they want to cram it down our throats. I usually get the regular flu vaccine, and also have my school-aged kids vaccinated as well. But this year, I think we’re gonna take a pass, on both of them. Instead, I’m beefing up their immune systems through diet and vitamins (and emphasis on washing hands, etc.).

You say you got a mild case of flu even though you had the shot. If you had not had the shot, you would most likely have gotten very ill. This new shot is not all that different from the “regular” flu shots. Those who have died did not receive any shots as yet.

I served in Desert Storm. The Gulf War Syndrome that the government has never acknowledged, has affected me and my quality of life since. It appears that the anthrax vaccine we were forced to take prior to deployment is the common denominator for all of us experiencing symptoms of what is known as Gulf War Syndrome. I was at our local zoo with my gal and as we were walking we saw a group of Muslims coming towards us. The two women were dressed in full Muslim garb. One had a long black cloak-like garment with head and face completely covered. It was a pretty warm day too. I could hear the men talking angrily to their women or children (couldn’t understand them). I had to turn and walk the other way because I like to be congenial to those I pass, but I couldn’t bring myself to be congenial to anybody who would treat their women like second-class citizens. My daughter was one of the first confirmed cases of swine flu in our area in June on return from a trip to Guatemala. She had symptoms (mild) for about four days, and was feeling fine when we finally got the results of the test. She was tested on a Wednesday and the next day the clinic requested a verbal that we would pay for the test if the insurance did not cover it before they completed the test…so much for concern of a pandemic???

Keith, we have a daughter who is very big into the alternative medicines and she is a nurse. But her children are always sick or have some kind of pain. They are not always as great as some say they are. If they work, it’s because you probably don’t really need medication. My husband and I are in our 70″s. We are on medications prescribed by our doctors and they are keeping us going. How do I know? Because of what happens if we don’t take them. People down the pharmas, but they do research that only they can afford to do. The reason we don’t have pandemics of various diseases is because of the drugs pharmas have developed. We no longer have to fear measles (going blind), whooping cough, diptheria (choking to death), being horribly disfigured if not dying from smallpox, etc.

Only those that proves to be a fraud.I had a friend who died from brain cancer.He was using alternative treatments.Most of these treatments simply don’t work.They are the brain child of con artists,who prey on hope and fear.Fear is the biggest money maker.It is like faith healing.It to is a hoax.There is no simple solution.
The point isn’t as much about whether or not Pharmacuticals have or are helpful..it is more about the governments involvement…private companies have a much better track record for coming up with useful things…when the gov gets involved to this extent we have no recourse when things go wrong. If you were told you could not have a say in your medications..or treatments don’t you think that is wrong? I have to say when my mother was living every time she went to the doctors she was given another drug..with each drug came another complication…she was hospitalized because Fosomax the bone drug caused her not to be able to swallow …they force fed her and she came down with nuemonia in the hospital and died. I will never stop questioning the need for pushing so many drugs on people who wish only to be helped…They have told us that Autism is not caused by vaccines yet the numbers continue to rise as our children are given more than 20 vaccines before the age of two. No one is saying we don’t need research ..but for Gods sake take it out of the hands of the GOV.
Elaine, that’s why when a doctor prescribes a drug, research the possible side effects. They can be worse than the disease. It is still our choice whether to take them or not. When someone is on several drugs at the same time, it is wise to do research on possible drug interactions. Sometimes, one doctor does not know what another doctor has prescribed. Pharmacists can tell you if you ask them about the drugs you take. I know I have done that to make sure I won’t have complications from taking more than one drug.
Also, do the research before you have the prescription filled. Just because a doctor gives you a prescription doesn’t mean you have to have it filled. I know I have been given one for a condition I thought was already beginning to get better, so I didn’t have it filled. The doctor is not told if you fill it or not unless you tell him/her. As for Fosomax, I think you are just as well off taking Os-Cal or one of those for bone health. Some people get the side effects, some don’t, it depends upon your system. I have cancer that has metastisized into my bones and my oncologist recommended taking Os-Cal. I also use skim milk, eat yogurt and anything else that is high in calcium. Every 4 months I have an IV of a drug (the name escapes me) that takes calcium out of the blood and puts it into my bones. I get no side effects from it or I would refuse it. Our health is our own responsibility.

Thank you for your concern. My oncologist told me I am a remarkable case for someone who had breast cancer. I have never been completely free of it, but I am a survivor thanks to my doctors and prayer.
May I suggest that if you are into the herbals, go to an Amish practitioner before taking any as they are akin to a doctor in their knowledge of herbals. They do a kind of physical to see what kind of herbs you need. The thing is, it takes longer for the herbs to work as a rule. Some people may take herbs they think are what they need, but actually make the situation worse. Not all herbs are equal.
Elaine, the reason the FDA cannot ok, a lot of the herbs is that all the money is being spent on the Big Phrma companies, they do not want any competition from any natural products. Do you not understand that the Corporate Companies have a stranglehold on the economy/consumers?

I completely recognize your right to choose the best course for your own life. I have cured many of my health problems with supplements. I won’t go into the gory details, but I know for a fact that they worked for me. And it wasn’t the placebo effect as I tried numerous supplements that didn’t do me any good. In fact, doctors have done my family more harm than good over the years. That is not an indictment of doctors. I just think the human body is too complex for anyone to fully grasp the problems and the cures.
What we are fighting for here is to stop Big Government from using their force against us. Big Government is the problem, not the solution.
Read my reply to Elaine above this one. I know that there are alternative medicines out there as when I was going through chemo, my daughter took me to an Amish practitioner. She had me take a teaspoon a day of a liquid “elixir” which was a combination of several herbs. All I know is, I got through the chemo without losing my hair (thinned some) or getting violently ill. My oncologist was amazed. I told him what I was doing and he said I could take all the herbs I wanted to take. A lot of the drugs the pharmas come out with may have an herb as the base medicine. Years and years ago, before doctors and pharmas, practioners used herbs for healing. Some worked, others didn’t. Research has never been done on them. Even so, we are told not to take certain herbs along with certain drugs. They may have counter effects or enhanced effects that make it too strong.

That actually makes sense. The best defense from getting sick is to stay home locked inside your house and no contact with anyone. Germs get pasted from person to person. Going to the mall or shopping center is always a good chance to get sick. Even church with all those people in one room. Air plane rides will certainly get you sick. If you could teach people to stay home when they are sick that would be great, but our life style doesn’t allow it. Therefore we need other forms of protection such as vaccines because we don’t and won’t stay home when sick.

My oncologist wants me to have an MRI that involves six different “tests”, three without dye and three with. I have a problem with the first one and I don’t know if I’m going to go through the next five. I will make that decision after I see my cardiologist and see what he says. Cancer treatments can affect you heart, which happened to me. So I’m careful as to what I want to do. The oncologist knows where the cancer spots are and wants to know how stable my bones are which the MRI would show. But I’m just not sure if it’s necessary to go through it.

Susan, you cannot get the flu from the flu shots as they use a killed virus. If you get sick after the shot, you are ether allergic to the base or already were getting sick when you got the shot. Your immune system cannot tell the difference between a live virus and a dead one and will react to both to try to kill it.
Even so, it is your right to get or not get the shots. As for me, I didn’t get one last year and don’t plan to this year as I’ve already had so many and have also had the flu so I’m betting on my immune system will fight them off if any of those bugs find their way into my body. And I also plan to do what I can to ward them off, such as being careful not to get close to anyone who exhibits signs of being ill and hand washing, eating Vitamins and minerals, etc.

Has she had flu shots before and if she did, did she have any reactions? If she did not, she most likely won’t have any from this either. The reactions are almost always from the base. If she doesn’t get the shot and all the other children do, her chances of getting the flu are greatly reduced. Your call.

INDIANAPOLIS — A group of Indiana health care workers is among the first in the nation to be vaccinated against the swine flu.
Officials in Indiana and Tennessee set events for Monday to administer nasal mist doses of the swine flu vaccine to doctors, nurses, emergency medical workers and other health care professionals who work directly with patients.
Indiana’s first dose was administered to Dr. Charles Miramonti, an emergency room physician at Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis. He was given the FluMist vaccine in front of a bank of television cameras at an event attended by Gov. Mitch Daniels.
Initial shipments of the nasal mist vaccine are so small that in most cases they’re being reserved for health workers.

Did he have a reaction, did he get the flu? They want health care workers to get the shots as they work with people who are already ill or with babies and children who are most vulnerable. All those who have died from this flu were either young whose immune systems had not yet been exposed to the flue or had underlying infections.
What kind of people are they who make this stuff up? What kind of paranoid mindset is responsible for this kind of fiction being continually thrown out there? Schools, various states, and the federal government may recommend immunizations for H1N1, but no official in the federal government is talking about mandating it. And, why would any liberal Democrat be promoting anything which is unnecessarily advantageous to Big Pharma? They represent a part of the health care industry that Dems have been fighting for years. A government whose constitution stipulates that its purpose is to promote the general welfare and does so by mass producing a flu vaccine is not taking a step toward government tyranny. Good God!
