In the wake of the Georgia (where I reside) primary on July 20, I was going to cobble together some salient thoughts about the American system of electoral politics and the inevitable nastiness that goes foot-in-mouth along with it.
And then web content impresario Andrew Breitbart dove headfirst into seriously hot water last week. Breitbart evidently doctored a video tape of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) official Shirley Sherrod to make her seem racist. At the time, Sherrod was speaking to the NAACP, so many conservatives assumed she was as racially mistuned as her audience.
Liberal outrage over Breitbart’s shameful (alleged) misdeeds turned the story into a national headline. But while liberals nationwide howled with rage, another story broke the same day. And this one was a real Daisy Cutter: The Daily Caller (DC) broke the news that the mainstream media (MSM) was playing dirty for Barack Obama.
The DC piece included predictably self-important journalists brazenly discussing the best methods to protect poor Obama from evil right-wing bastards. Thus did my musings on choosing between “least stomach-churningly awful” candidates at the ballot box get shuffled into my computer’s hard drive next to the “gourmet meals you can make in the microwave” recipes.
To whit:
During the 2008 Presidential campaign we were introduced to a fine Chicago clergyman named Jeremiah Wright. Rev. Wright presided over a fine congregation in a fine Midwestern city. Among his fine congregants was a fine U.S. Senator named Barack Obama. Fine. Except that Rev. Wright doesn’t feel fine about many of us. In fact, Rev. Wright has a rather poor opinion of:
- Jews.
- Republicans.
- The LAPD (groundbreaking, I know).
- “Uncle” Clarence Thomas (and the “closeted Klan court”).
- Condoleeza Rice (he called her “Condoskeezer—not sure what that means, but I doubt it’s a compliment.)
- The War on Terror.
- Pretty much every president since Hoover.
- The outcome of WWII (Really? Really.)
But the DC revealed the MSM literally planned a pass for poor Barack. After all, they reassured us, he couldn’t possibly have known everything Wright was saying—he was busy. The facts that Obama had been a member of Wright’s church for two decades and had even donated $20,000 to the cause were glossed over. Only a racist would continue to look under Obama’s Chicago stones (pay no attention to Bill Ayers, there).
Flash forward to 2010. Obama is firmly ensconced in the people’s digs at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. And to quote the erstwhile pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ: “…the chickens have come home to roost…”
And how.
DC’s investigation unearthed scores of documents revealing a concerted effort on the part of the MSM to drive a stake into the heart of Wright-gate in specific and criticism of Obama in general. Journalists at outlets major and minor are named in the DC’s trove of notes, offering shocking invective—including suggestions on how to falsely smear conservatives with the “racist” label in an effort to “change the subject,” tips on how to kill any negative stories on Obama, plans to convince a potential Obama administration to pull Fox News‘ FCC license (they can’t), and my personal favorite—NPR contributor Sara Spitz (your tax dollars at work, kiddies!) describing her laughter at the hoped-for death of Rush Limbaugh in lurid detail.
Imagine the outrage should Fred Barnes (the subject of one of the “let’s call him a racist even though he isn’t” plans) attend Sunday services at the 1st Church of the White Devil Slave Master. Even if he was simply there to observe, his career would be cooked like the slowest turkey on Thanksgiving.
If Limbaugh were to suggest the eye-popping expiration of the uber-shrill Julianne Malveaux, the left would howl with indignation—the gals at Malveaux’s Bennett College for Women might even suspend afternoon interpretive dance and pottery classes!
To satisfy my own curiosity I took a peek at a couple of MSM offerings while researching this piece. Surely, with The Washington Post’s ombudsman Andrew Alexander publicly admitting his paper had fumbled the snap on the New Black Panther Party story, the revelation by DC of an actual liberal media conspiracy would result in at least marginal introspection from the MSM amidst indignant shrieks over Breitbart’s actions—or so I thought. Instead:
- CNN: Their top story was a thought-provoking analysis of Mel Gibson. At least, I assume it was thought-provoking. They also featured some story about Lindsay Lohan, which puts them in the lofty company of The National Enquirer.
- The New York Times: Hillary Clinton announced new sanctions against North Korea. That actually marks a departure from the policies of her husband, who gave billions to the wobbly leg of the Axis of Evil.
- The Washington Independent: WI’s Spencer Ackermann was among the most vocal of the DC-identified conspirators. I expected at least a mild disavowal. Nope. They’re upset about nuclear power plants. I was excited for a moment, until I realized they’re against them. Foreign oil interests indeed.
- The Huffington Post: Their lead story is about Republicans smoking cigars or some other feigned outrage. The response to DC story merely claims that DC employees were also on the “Journo-list.” So, they’re admitting they showed a copy of their plan to the bad guys. Brilliant.
- MSNBC: Ask their “viewer.” I’m sure he/she would relish the attention.
All of the aforementioned covered the Breitbart/Sherrod tale with the kind of breathlessness that fogs the windows of teenagers’ cars.
What we’re really seeing is the confirmation of something most of us already knew: the so-called MSM will lie down in traffic (or at least hurl what’s left of their ethics into the road) for Obama. While you’re scratching your heads in bewilderment as libs lose their cookies over Breitbart’s “cooking” of the Sherrod tape—all the while managing to ignore far-left hack Keith Olbermann’s cut-n-splice assault on Limbaugh from last week, I have a question for the class: Why?
The same media flacks who participated directly or indirectly with the now in-their-own-words-established pro-Obama charade told us back in 2008 that electing Obama was akin to welcoming the Savior. There was going to be Hope and Change. They even told us that we were racist if we dared ask what Hope and Change might mean.
Obama was brighter, cooler, more astute and even better-looking than the rest of us. His victory in November was going to end war (oops), restore the economy (oops), bring transparency to government (oops), and reach out to the opposition to bring us all together under the Big Tent of Democracy (oops). He fired the CEO of GM and none of us even got a cool new Camaro like the one in Transformers: The Movie.
So why does Obama need the help? This is a guy who won a Nobel Peace Prize on spec. He was a community organizer. He’s BLACK (-ish..cablinasian, maybe?) That last fact alone was supposed to usher in at least what the MSM called a “post-racial presidency.”
Instead, the hate-spewing left merely slapped the paintbrush of accused bigotry on anyone who opposed the Obama agenda. We now know they even discussed it in advance.
But this isn’t just about the revelation of a concerted effort to protect Obama from reasonable scrutiny with defamatory finger-pointing. My July 22 column: A Light in the Darkness examined part of this controversy. But the fallout from the “Journo-list” exchanges is something new: incontrovertible evidence, in the words of the offenders themselves, that you simply cannot trust the MSM any further than you can pick them up and throw them (with the exception of George Stephanopolous, whom I’m fairly certain I could heave a good distance).
There’s a part of me that hopes these guys are all just morons. Charlie Gibson said he didn’t know about ACORN, he was on vacation. Bob Schieffer said the same thing about the NBPP scandal. Stephanopolous thinks Obama isn’t getting enough credit for dealing with terrorism.
Last week the NAACP, fresh from demonstrations on behalf of cop-killer Troy Davis, issued a statement calling the Tea Party racist. The statement went unaccompanied by equally strong condemnations of the New Black Panther Party, John Lewis (“they shouted epithets and spat! I swear!”) or people who murder police officers.
The NAACP’s lack of condemnation of the utterly condemnable was itself unaccompanied by comment by the MSM. They were too busy describing Michelle Obama’s fetching ensemble while she intimated that childhood obesity might be caused by (shocker) racism.
I have no trouble condemning Breitbart’s allegedly dastardly acts. You get caught acting the rat, you have to take the cheese. But Breitbart is one rodent. The Main Stream Media is infested, and no one seems to be calling for the exterminator.

So, let me get this straight. On July 19, 2010, Andrew Breitbart posted a video of Sherrod making allegedly racial comments to the NAACP Freedom Fund. That same day Shirley resigned under a firestorm of demands from Administration officials. Yet according to the full video of the event, she had done nothing wrong. Shirley didn’t explain her actual statement when confronted? Is this how the Obama administration operates – Guilty until proven innocent? And since when have the Obama administration dealt with anybody on their side that harshly?
Andrew Breitbart says he received the video as he showed it. He was not aware of the full-length version. For sure, Andrew should have vetted the video more thoroughly before he aired it. But then, how often do the Liberals on this board think before they attack? He’s human.
Am I the only person that thinks this affair smells like a red-herring? Or even worse, a set-up from the beginning?

They reacted so quickly because she and her husband recieved $50,000 each for a class action law suit that had a 1 billion dollar settlement. everyone in suit recieved $50,000 each. But the kicker was the additional $150,000 each that Shirley Sherrod and her husband recieved additional for “pain and suffering”(nice to have the inside track only ones who got additional $300,000) all while working for the U.S.D.A. who was the defendant in the case. that was Pigford I All you had to do to qualify to recieve $50,000 was to be black, and claim that you attempted to farm land unsucessfully. They had a date to close any new claims. The 1997 Pigford v. Glickman case against the U.S. Agriculture Department was settled out of court 11 years ago. Under a federal judge’s terms dating to 1999, qualified farmers could receive $50,000 each to settle claims of racial bias.
As a senator, Barack Obama sponsored “Pigford II,” a measure in the 2008 Farm Bill that reopened the case. In February of this year, his administration brokered a $1.25 billion settlement for Pigford II. But Congress missed two deadlines, one in March and the other in May.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in Feb. blasted Senate Republicans for holding up the process, saying that they have “rejected over and over again any legislation that has had the Pigford settlement in it. So please don’t cry any racial tears for Shirley Sherrod. Her and her husband cried all the way to the bank
Thank you for that information…it would seem that this was not aired on Fox or any other news organization that I got to see. With the way things work in Obamaland, the NAACP probably was the one that sent the tape to Breitart. Obama will use people, no matter what to get his agenda. I believe that she helped the white farmer because he was going to lose his property and it would come back to bite her in the ass if he did because she did not help him. She has not overcome racism…you can see it all the way through the video…the entire video…and her husband is as racists as she is. Time will tell about her because I can bet you that there are white farmers out there that she did not help because of her racism. Don’t be surprised if they don’t start imerging from the past.
People should read the whole article of Breitbart’s posting. He writes that later, in a complete video, Shirley Sherrod’s humanity surfaced and she helped the farmer by referring him to a white attorney.
Breitbart’s point of the whole thing was to show the NAACP audience’s reaction to Shirley’s comments of not helping the farmer because he was white. He received the video as he showed it and did not edit it himself.
Of course all of this was left out by the Lame Stream Media. Could it be that in covering the story they edited out sections and took the pertinent parts out of context – just what they accused Breitbart of doing?
I guess most people missed the point that he was turning the tables on the left and showing an example of what they do all of the time. However, he did state up front that the story had a different outcome, unlike what the left would do.
You are all correct and it is past time we started speaking up. The ONLY ones that have a right to complain about this country are the American Indians. They are silent. ALl this talk of hate is fracturing our country. If Wright, Jackson or whoever find it unfair here – LEAVE. Regardless, SHerrod DID IN FACT say something that NONE of us would be able to say … “… I took them to one of their own. A white Attorney.”. What does that mean, people? No matter the outcome, she acted in a raciest way. Doesn’t matter if she corrected her error later or not. So, before you speak, might want to check your FACTS first. You seem to enjoy eating a lot of crow by your posts on here.
Breitbart was not set up and he has done this before. Sherrod was telling a story about how people act and how they should act towards each other. Even under unfortunate circumstances. Your misinterpretation (or spin) makes you suspect with evil intentions and very misinformed. You are the one who should check the FACTS.

No, Dave. These are the words of a woman who has lived her life in the shadow of racism. This is a women who’s father was murdered by a white racist, a man who was never even tried because no white court or jury would indite him.
Yes, when she said “… and send him to see his own kind…” I was taken aback. But when I listened again I could hear the change. When she took him to see a white lawyer, that is what she was thinking, but that thought was the beginning of her transformation. We have all had that moment where we hear our own thoughts and realize something about ourselves that we have never considered before.
Another issue is the laughter of the audience, but again, listen to the story. Ms. Sherrod felt that the farmer was trying to show that he was better than her. Maybe he was, maybe not. Given her childhood she may be predisposed to feel that way. On the other hand, such an attitude is not uncommon among people brought up in the south at that time. Either way, the joke was that he felt superior, but she had the upper hand. I know I have had this same experience before, though race was not involved. It’s a situation used in television all the time. Just watch an old episode of Any Griffith or the Beverly Hillbillies. It’s only an issue here because we are all so focused on race.
You seem to miss the whole point of “racism”, Kinetic. If the whole town was white and rooted for the death of her father, that bears no weight on how she views or treats whites who had nothing to do with that episode. Blacks are not exempted from “racism”. We all suffer misfortune during our lifetimes. The real test of character is do we take those sufferings out on uninvolved others?
I have known lots of whites and blacks, and the blacks I have known are far more racist than were the whites I have known.

In my opinion, this little episode was very sloppy on the part of the Democrats, but the MSM will turn a blind eye to the obvious, just as will the blindered Liberals, because their focus is on the trough and they don’t have the moral integrity to question it.
We saw the same behavior when the Sexual Harasser-in-Chief Bill was sheltered by the MSM and his Blindered Liberal Followers.

The poison being spread is being done by the liberal/progressives. The NAACP deliberately only sent a piece of that tape to Breitbart. He was set up. I didn’t hear anyone from Fox say anything about it until the full story came out.
Then you weren’t paying attention. Beck brought up her racism on his radio show, but supported her and condemned her firing on TV (I guess he heard the truth before air time.) O’Reilly stood by the firing as did Newt on Hannity. The next day, when the truth came out Beck patted himself on the back for defending her (guess he forgot about the radio) and O’Reilly apologized for jumping to conclusions.
hflashman – get a clue. Fox news did not air the video of sherrod the racist until she was fired by democrats jumping to conclusions. And as for faked Acorn videos, are you serious? stay tuned in to Rachael madcow and Keith Old liar with the other 25 viewers to get the real news. And by the way Fox admitted they made a mistake not getting all the facts before airing the video and apoligized numerous times. Name one time the leftist media corrects themselves when caught in misinformation and spreading what they know are lies. I don’t expect to hear back.

It was my understanding that Breitbart wanted to expose the racists within the NAACP by exposing their laughter when Sherrod was talking how she “did not give the full force of what she could do in her position to help this white farmer” – they were laughing because at that point, they didn’t know what she was alluding to (she used to be racist but now believes it is the “haves” and the “have-nots”).
IMHO, Breitbart exposed a very dangerous sentiment of the NAACP and for that I am grateful – it’s just unfortunate (for us all) that soooo many have failed to see that point!

It is obvious from reading it that the problem is NAACP and that is what he reported. NAACP charged that a large teaparty group was hostile to a bunch of congressmen (I would not have been surprised with their approval rating hovering at 11% currently) and that they used a racial slur toward these congressmen.
The writer (Breitbart) has offered $100,000 to anyone who can show proof of the incident.
“First, my $100,000 video challenge for any evidence of racism was met with crickets. The CBC, looking for a fight, and taking to the airwaves to accuse the Tea Party of racism made a 180 degree turn and went into hiding when challenged on the truthfulness of the outrageous allegations. Why mention Breitbart, or suggest that he “evidently doctored a video tape”? Perhaps it’s a timid admission that the folks at Tucker Carlson’s Daily Caller did the same with information from Journolist. Here’s one of the damning quote’s from the big J:

Does everyone agree that reporters from Fox or, maybe the Daily Caller might have a drink and talk about the day? I’ll bet they say some nasty stuff on occasion, if only to blow off some steam. I know doctors, police, lawyers, all sorts of people that have a favorite hang out where they feel comfortable sharing stories and ideas. Imagine if we could go back through all those conversations and pick out some juicy bits, splice them together and show the world what bastards they are!

I’ve seen the video. In fact, I read Breitbart’s piece on the video, and I am aware of what your concerns are. I was surprised by the quick firing of Ms. Sherrod, but only slightly. The difference is in how we saw it. You saw the Obama administration reacting haphazardly to a potential attack from the right, while I saw a subordinate trying to shield the White House from a mistake he had made. There is little proof that the President was even aware of this video before Ms. Sherrod had resigned, only proof that some in his administration saw the potential for damage and wanted to act quickly to diffuse the situation and deny Fox News of an opportunity to beat the President over the head with this. Clearly they should have looked into the situation rather than responing out of fear, but human nature can be that way.
So I could have spoken to that before, but the thrust of this article was the supposed “proof” that the MSM is nothing but left wing liars and conspirators. The truth is that JournoList was used by Liberals, Moderates and left leaning Libertarians as a place to discuss topics, shoot the breeze and sometimes vent frustration in a non public forum. The Daily Caller took advantage of this open atmosphere to mine through e-mails and search for damning comments, just as I did with the folks on this site. Needless to say, if I were to take the time the Caller did I could have found calls for violence, racist attacks and many other damning posts that could be used to paint the conservative members of this site as potentially dangerous right wing extremists. No, it wouldn’t be true, but that’s the point. A blog that would suggest that a few comments picked from among thousands provides proof that an entire group is working together to subvert the news is proof only that the blog is the guilty party.
Dave, I wasn’t “blaming Conservatives” for the Sherrod situation. Neither was this a “knee jerk reaction” to your comments. I give a good deal of thought to what I have to say, often taking the time to research before I speak. I wish I could say the same for others on this site, both liberal and conservative. I will say one thing about your response though: your segregationist theory of “form their own companies and trade amongst themselves” could easily be taken to question your views on race. This is the kind of attitude that has Hispanics choosing to retain their language and culture while living here. Don’t you think the best way to improve your life in America is to work to be a part of America?
As for Ms. Sherrod and Mr. Breitbart, it sounds like they are headed for court. Perhaps that exchange will reveal whether Mr. Breitbart truly received the video in it’s current form, or doctored the video himself. If, as he claims the video came edited, we will have to decide whether the sender edited it to discredit Mr. Breitbart or Ms. Sherrod, and by extension the President.

Good idea, though this is a tough time to even keep a business going. Then you felt you should add the idea about trading “amongst themselves.” As I said, people on this site complain about minorities purposefully separating themselves from our society and here you are promoting the idea. Did they send the tape out in the hopes Beck would run it and then cry racism since Sherrod, in her own words, said that the day she was fired she was told to resign or she would be on Glenn Beck and then with Howard Dean saying it was Fox News and Glenn Beck’s fault. To take Breitbart’s statements one step further, he had the video for some time, and repeatedly asked for the rest of the video from the NAACP. Further, his stated intent was to show the reaction of the audience. There has been zero focus on the reaction of the audience, and the MSM doesn’t bother to interview Breitbart.
I, for one, don’t believe he doctored the video.
Andrew was aware of the entire tape. He aluded to that on his site and mentioned her redemption. He deliberately only showed the bad part to show how racist blacks are, and make a point of how hollow their charges of racism in the Tea Party are. Bravo!!! My wife recently picked me up at the airport an experienced reverse descrimination by a black uniformed traffic person. She was told to move our car and go park it. She responded that the car next to her was their when she arrived. Guess what? The driver of that car was black, and was allowed to stay. I would expect to see alot more acts of boldness by blacks in the near term.

PR’s “Sister Sara” surely didn’t confuse her thoughts when she removed her mask with her desire to see the pain filled death of Rush.
Anyone that calls them a “professional journalist” in the MSM also known as the, “Lame Stream Media” (LSM) aka “The Drive-By Media” are fooling themselves on numerous accounts. First is that they are a professional anything, next being that they think they are actually a journalist, and lastly is that they still firmly believe they are in the “Mainstream Media”.
I seem to recall Breitbart’s interview with Fox News after this Sherrod affair went viral and came to the conclusion that he thought he was doing the right thing by getting what he was given by his source out quickly to parry the NAACP resolution against the Tea Party while totally ignoring the NBPP voter intimidation (filmed incident). In hindsight, perhaps Brietbart should have been more emphatic that he placed the entire video of what he had been given by his source without altering it in any way when he broke the story. But the complete video was in the possession of the NAACP the entire time!
Perhaps they were too busy defending their false broadside at the Tea Party as well as ignoring the NBPP incident to review their own video library to do a fact check on their own before officials in the federal government got involved.
Ever since I had the time and means I only surveil what the LSM and some of the Liberal websites are saying while I actually get my information from genuine professional journalists and their news agencies at Fox, NEWSMAX, WSJ, and the like domestically. If I want to see what others think internationally I look to the BBC, Der Speigel and the Jerusalem Post.

The explaination from Mr. breitbart is he released the video and He asks you to listen to the catcalls from the crowd(turn up your speaker when listening to speech) He was trying to point out the racist reaction from the audience. The lesson here that Mr. Breitbart was trying to get across is that racists come in all shapes,sizes,gender,and of course color. All organizations have INDIVIDUALS THAT ARE RACIST, BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE THE WHOLE ORGANIZATION RACIST. A good example would be 90% of blacks voted for Barak Obama. BUT IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT ALL OF THE 90% OF BLACKS WHO VOTED FOR BARAK OBAMA ARE RACIST. If you are buying into this crap(republican annd democrat) and it is persuading you to vote one way or another instead of looking at the facts, Then you are part of the problem we have with Congress(past 15 years) and the President(past 15 years) now. Who provided the video to Britbart? Did he receive the entire video? The NAACP had the entire video and could have released it at any time. Since the video was “leaked” to Breitbart from the NAACP and the left jumped on FOX claiming they did all the damage and blamed Glenn Beck for doing something that never happened this whole thing stinks.
I personally believe this whole event was a setup to trap FOX and Beck; but Beck didn’t buy the trap, but rather disarmed the trap by supporting Sherrod. The White House reaction was prior to FOX and Beck but they had already preped their spokespeople to blast at both. The White House expected FOX and Beck to be exposed.
Breitbart may or may not have “doctored” the tape. The bigger issue is that the talking heads are still attacking FOX and Beck with the same pre-defined lies.
I agree. Americans are Americans. All are in the same boat. O’course, some of us see the boat sinking, while others hold out for “hope and Change”. They don’t realize we got the hope taken away and the change we got ain’t what we wanted.
They’ll never get the intent…Think back on Cramer…he was doing standup, the crowd responded. Nobody went after the crowd. I watched the video slice, and it hit me very hard. It made me sad to think that, hearing only that slice of it, here, after all these years, as much as I work to treat everyone with the same blind courtesy and faith in them as Americans, it could all be for naught. But, reality is a butt-kicker. I grew up not far from this part of GA, and it is a reality check to go south from Atlanta, act the way I do now, courteous, smile with a “hello”, and see black Americans simply taken aback by a white guy who recognizes them as just another person on the street who deserves the courtesy we’d afford anyone else. Martin Luther King didn’t profess dividing us up, he professed “character”.

I find it frustrating, frankly, that people entirely missed the point of Andrew’s airing of that video. His focus wasn’t even on Sherrod, it was on the laughter and approval of the audience when she described her discrimination that she contends she later repented of (although she continued to refer to white people as their “kind”). In other words, he was pointing out the enjoyment of the NAACP audience when she described the discrimination she had perpetrated. When she described the correction of her behavior, audience response was very subdued. This was the whole point of Andrew airing the video, not Ms. Sherrod. But the left immediately changed the focus and made it all about Ms. Sherrod, in order to take the light off the apparent racism of the NAACP. And the tactic appears to have worked. Now it’s all about Sherrod, never mind the racist attitudes of the NAACP.
To your point, the video was received in April. It was released much later in response to NAACP stating the Tea Party is racist.

Sherrod and the NAACP are both racist and everyone that is giving Shirly Sherrod a pass should watch the entire video because she continued to make racist comments all the way to the end. She also made racist ignorant comments on the rest of the news agencies she was interviewed by, why did she skip her opportunity to be interviewed on Fox News the day after the public became aware of the racism of the audience in the tape. All of the Obama supporters that are accusing everyone else of racism are the real racists. They are doing it because the public is becoming aware of what this regime is doing to our country.

The NAACP accused the Tea Party movement of being racist. Brietbart Showed the portion of Sherrod saying she didn’t help the farmer as much as she could because he was white. Example? The CFR is compartmentalized so much that at least 80% of those who are members have no clue whatsoever as to what those at the top are up to. As a black man who did not vote for Presideent Obama, I find it disgusting how low Republicans will go to discredit him. As a private citizen, Barack Obama had every right to attend any church of his choosing, including one that taught black liberation theology. Agreed, he would have some splaining to do if he decided to run for public office. Having said that, anyone who believes Barack Obama is a racist or hates white people has an elevator that doesn’t go all the way to the top.
Give it a rest people and let’s come together to get us out of a never-ending unwinnable nation building war in Afghanistan and get control of a financial system and trade policy that is making us a third world nation. Part of what “O” campaigned on was a promise of change. Ending war, fiscal responsibility, and government ‘transparency’. I have seen none of the above. When he was running for Senate, Allan Keyes (another ‘black’) commented that he was not a natural born citizen, and “O” replied. “I am not running for president, but for the Senate”. And he took an oath (more or less) to support the constitution. That is treason, and perjury. I think we should give him time… about 10 years.

how about when he found out his friend had been arrested, without knowing any of the facts, he said ” Stupid cops overreacted”!!! Not once after that, did he ever acknoledge that part of the cops arresting him were black and not once did he ever say his friend should have just shown his I.D.! Even when he invited them both to the “beer summit” he didn’t address the failures of his friend, only those of the police!!
As a Black woman who did not vote for him, I find it amazing that ordinarily sensible blacks would go to any length to protect him. Forget party affiliation, how can any Christian support this man? Yet that is exactly what we have with holier-than-thou Christians, who with their annointed self would go to any length to rationalize any action of this president. IT IS NOTHING BUT TRIBALISM, the same tribalism that allows fellow blacks to watch while members of other tribe gets butchered in Rwanda. It is time for all of you to realize that this country that is built on the blood, sweat and tears of your ancestors is being destroyed by a so-called black man who cannot lay claim to the same struggle. I for one consulted God about Obama…after I did, every time I heard his voice or seen his face thereafter, I became so nauseated that I almost had to make a run for it. Except that the “full version” of the Sherrod speech accuses Republicans or anyone opposing Obama as racist. Now there’s an improvement. The Left and the MSM have been playing the race card all my life and it’s worked. But 40 years ago a friend of mine who was accused of being racist for enforcing dorm quiet hours responded by saying, “You may get the administration to believe that. You may get the town to believe that. Hell, you may even believe that yourselves. But I think that you know, as I know, that I’m here because it’s past 10 o’clock.” His accusers backed down and never played that game again.
But what galls me the most is when the race card is played when race is not an issue. What race is Mexican, Muslim (Moslem?), Hispanic, Arab or even Chinese? None (Asian is not a race. It’s a place that includes many nationalities and races). They are nationalities or ethnicities. But that doesn’t stop the Left from accusing people of racism who don’t agree with the agenda of terrorists or the Reconcista movement. Why? Because the Left has redefined the Marxist class struggle to be between races rather than between workers and owners (another phony dichotomy).
The racists, meaning those people who think some races are superior to others, have found a comfortable home on the Left and in both the news and entertainment media and have been there for many, many years. That’s as obvious to most of us as the fact that the media has been filled with unashamed political bigots since before I was born.

I watched the film of Ms. Sherrod, the one on the internet, from start to finish. All through her speech she would start to get wound up on what seemed to be “not liking whites”?? She would catch herself, start smoothing over the papers in front of her, pause and continue to speak in a more collected manner. There also appeared to be 2 cameras in the room, one was being used by a lady sitting at one of the tables in front of the podium and the other one was in the back of the room, held by someone standing. Watch the film carefully and see if you also see what I did. I think it would take a film expert to assess what actions would be possible during the paper smoothing breaks.
Self appointed King Obama and his Marxist regime have done a wonderful job of discrediting themselves, so I really don’t think they need any help. Every ounce of legislation passed by this regime is unconstitutional and will be challenged in the near future.

Yes, I agree. with the amounts these people are using in primary campaigns I think the US taxpayer is going to pay for the results of any election. The money surely wasn’t returned to pay down the debt.

Pro-lifers are now compelled to have their tax dollars used to subsidize insurance plans that allow for the murder of unborn children. This is more than state-sanctioned infanticide. As the law is implemented (as in Pennsylvania) the consequences of the abortion provisions will become increasingly apparent. The result will be a cultural civil war. Pro-lifers will become deeply alienated from society; among many, a secession of the heart is taking place.
Mr. Obama is waging a frontal assault on property rights. The BP oil spill is a case in point. BP clearly is responsible for the spill and its massive economic and environmental damage to the Gulf. There is a legal process for claims to be adjudicated, but Mr. Obama has behaved more like Mr. Chavez or Russia’s Vladimir Putin: He has bullied BP into setting up a $20 billion compensation fund administered by an Obama appointee. In other words, the assets of a private company are to be raided to serve a political agenda. Billions will be dispensed arbitrarily in compensation to oil-spill victims – much of it to Democratic constituents. This is cronyism and creeping authoritarianism.
Mr. Obama’s multicultural socialism seeks to eradicate traditional America. He has created a command-and-control health care system. He has essentially nationalized the big banks, the financial sector, the automakers and the student loan industry. He next wants to pass “cap-and-trade,” which would bring industry and manufacturing under the heel of big government. The state is intervening in every aspect of American life – beyond its constitutionally delegated bounds. Under Mr. Obama, the Constitution has become a meaningless scrap of paper.
To provide the shock troops for his socialist takeover, Mr. Obama calls for “comprehensive immigration reform” – granting amnesty to 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens. This would forge a permanent Democratic electoral majority. It would sound the death knell for our national sovereignty. Amnesty rewards lawlessness and criminal behavior; it signifies the surrender of our porous southern border to a massive illegal invasion. It means the death of American nationhood. We will no longer be a country, but the colony of a global socialist empire.
Rather than defending our homeland, Mr. Obama’s Justice Department has sued Arizona for its immigration law. He is siding with criminals against his fellow Americans. His actions desecrate his constitutional oath to protect U.S. citizens from enemies foreign and domestic. He is thus encouraging more illegal immigration as Washington refuses to protect our borders. Mr. Obama’s decision on this case is treasonous.
As president, he is supposed to respect the rule of law. Instead, his administration has dropped charges of voter intimidation against members of the New Black Panther Party. This was done even though their menacing behavior was caught on tape: men in military garb brandishing clubs and threatening whites at a polling site. A Justice Department lawyer intimately involved in the case, J. Christian Adams, resigned in protest. Mr. Adams says that under Mr. Obama, there is a new policy: Cases involving black defendants and white victims – no matter how much they cry for justice – are not to be prosecuted. This is more than institutionalized racism. It is an abrogation of civil rights laws. The Justice Department’s behavior is illegal. It poses a direct threat to the integrity of our democracy and the sanctity of our electoral process.
Corruption in the administration is rampant. Washington no longer has a government; rather, it has a gangster regime. The Chicago way has become the Washington way. Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is a political hit man. He is an amoral, ruthless operator. It was Mr. Emanuel who reached out to Rep. Joe Sestak, Pennsylvania Democrat, offering a high-ranking job in the hopes of persuading Mr. Sestak to pull out of the primary against Sen. Arlen Specter. It was Mr. Emanuel who offered another government position to Andrew Romanoff to do the same in the Colorado Democratic Senate primary. And it was Mr. Emanuel – as the trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has revealed – who acted as the go-between to try to have Valerie Jarrett parachuted into Mr. Obama’s former Senate seat. The only question was: What did Mr. Blagojevich want in exchange?
This is not simply sleazy Chicago machine politics. It is the systematic breaking of the law – bribery, attempt to interfere (and manipulate) elections using taxpayer-funded jobs, influence peddling and abuse of power.
The common misperception on the right is that Mr. Obama is another Jimmy Carter: an incompetent liberal whose presidency is being reduced to rubble under the onslaught of repeated failures. The very opposite, however, is true. He is the most consequential president in our lifetime, transforming America into something our Founding Fathers would find not only unrecognizable, but repugnant. Like all radical revolutionaries, he is consumed by the pursuit of power – attaining it, wielding it and maximizing it. Mr. Obama’s fledgling thug state must be stopped.
If Republicans win back Congress in November, they should – and likely will – launch formal investigations into this criminal, scandal-ridden administration. Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican and ranking member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has promised as much. Mr. Obama has betrayed the American people. Impeachment is the only answer. This usurper must fall.

Vote Libertarian. I know we probably can’t win yet, but things can change suddenly in this country (look to recent election for proof of that). If enough people read our platform and understand why our policies would work (they worked before in the founding of our country), then we would at least achieve the numbers that would lead to an increasing amount of exposure and understanding of our Principles amongst the voters. I believe that we would win hands down, if every citizen in this country was exposed to our Principles. It is an uphill battle, because most of the Media ignores the Libertarian Party and for good reason. We champion Free Markets and the Media Moguls (with the exception of Rupert Murdoch) don’t want their cushy positions threatened by upstart competitors. For evidence of that, look to their (MSM) stance on the Internet. The MSM dislikes the Free exchange of ideas that occurs on the Internet.

If we elect another Republican, we are just prolonging the pain. Right now we still have people that lived 60-80 years ago when there was much less government and can testify that things were no worse than now (I think better). If we keep electing Republicans, they will muddle along until there are no longer people who can remember how it was before Big Government.
The Liberals got to the position they are now by slowly building their machinery and propagandizing our children. We can achieve that same level of power by patiently building the Libertarian Party and taking back control of our childrens’ education.

I am a registered Republican but I vote like a Libertarian. We must get the “Progressives Dems and GOP” out of power, and do the following:
1.) Repeal every piece of legislation passed to date by the Progressives
2.) Reduce the Federal workforce by 50% immediately…further reductions will follow.
3.) Mandate that all federal workforce pay does not exceed the private sector for the same job. Currently the all-mighty federal workforce makes 54.8% more than a person doing the same job in the private sector.
4.)Dismatle the Department of Education
5.) Institute a “National Sales Tax” eliminating the IRS
6.) Do away with affirmative action and any other racist federal program.
7.)Privatize freddie and Fannie
8.) Mandate that any stimulus or bail-outs is a misuse of public funds and is unconstitutional.
9.) TERMS LIMITS
10.)De-centralize power in Washington and return to the States and to the PEOPLE.
I could go on for hours and the result would be a balanced budget in two years and a debt-free country in less than five years.

We worked hard for what we got ~ and it didn’t come easy to raise 3 children and 2 wives. Buy three houses and all the trapping of American life and when Downsizing came in 81, I was very unhappy camper as I didn’t work on Air Planes or Tanks or Ships or munitions ~ I work on commodes, pipes and air-conditioning. ~ I work for all Americans, everyone that eats and craps.
It’s been a downhill run ever since. I’ve down sized about a far as one can go ~ at this point. The kids are gone, the women are gone and I take care of aging parents as I bought a place next door to be close.
What I do and say today is not for me or my benefit ~ I’m dug in like a Louisiana tick and depend on no government, no woman or employer. I only depend on the sun coming up. When it fails to one day rise, even then I’m fixed and doing fine.
However, I do have grave concerns for those who follow behind for at the rate we are losing buying power and control over our government it’s not going to be pretty. I don’t expect our tomorrows to be like our yesterdays but hold onto the hopes of a nation, of the people, for the people and by the people and the Liberty Bell still rings loud and clear for all to hear.
Pappy, You need to get yourself educated and lay off the THC. After you get yourself educated, then try to put your hands to an honest days work and you may or may not get an honest days pay. If you are going to go through life DUMB then you better be TUFF.

Different strokes for different folks, this appplies to you too. All the wealth in the world does not necessarily make a person happy. I am not wealthy in a monetary way, does that make me a loser? No. I have a decent life and I am happy with my life. I am happy with my husband, my job, my family and my dogs. Am I rich? No. Does money buy happiness? No, it just enables a person to buy more of the material things in life. Am I bitter about not being wealthy? No.
I will keep my middle class status and my life as opposed to some of the wealthy people. At least I haven’t been married 5-6 times. At least I am able to trust my husband, family, and friends because I KNOW they are not after my money. In fact, if I were extremely wealthy, I would no doubt be giving it to the honest poor, the environment and to the welfare of animals.

The reports I heard–mostly from Fox–was that the video that Breitbart released was ALL the video he had. According to Sean Hannity, Breitbart got set up by the person who sent him the video. It wasn’t until the sh** hit the fan that the entire video got released. Ann Coulter even suggest that Breitbart should out his source and I believe she suggested he sue him. I’m not sure what the truth is about this video and I’m not really sure I care. One thing this video did show is what a racist organization the NAACP is. They were laughing when Sherrod told about how she discriminated against white people. If they were truly against all racism as they claim, they would not have laughed about that. No, they are showing themselves to be just another racist hate group.

Her mention of the “indentured servants” of early America was a refreshing view into our history that is often overlooked and is not generally mentioned by those who would keep racism alive.
With experience, self-awareness, real education and a little blind luck perhaps we may ALL grow beyond our immediate limitations.
